Hi Gang:

Ed: I've had 4 so far and another one doesn't upset me too much. It's better than having this pain all the time.

I got 3 gates fixed after we got back from town. While we were going to HD ( had to boost Dick's stock up ) I stopped in at Office Max and got some poster board and Sharpies for the mine project. The basement is actuall hot again. This heat is really getting to us. Mary Ann is out of sorts at the smallest thing. I'm not in too good a mood ether.

I'm going to lay down for a bit and practice being re-tired. See you all later.

PC, sounds like you got a really proficient crew building your house! You just might be building new benchwork sooner than later!

Inch, yep, they had to clean out and flush the system a few times and refilled the charge again. They just called and said it was ready, the $$$ did not go up too much, mostly tax added to the total. I also had to have the fan belt replaced and another minor thing too. The nice part about the whole thing is since it was not ready when they originally agreed yesterday, they are going to deliver the truck this afternoon here at my work place as a courtesy.

Mornin all, coffee, n a couple doughnuts, Zoe,
Hotter today and the humidities up some, forecast warmer tomorrow, may have to turn the AC on. Been a working outside today, don't think I'll ever get caught up afore the leaves fall.

PC looks and sound like they're making good time on the house. You may end up in it, sooner they though at rate.

RYAN/PC, mixed freight goes by here at 55-60, 65 on the down hill. to climb the N. Fork  grade. Intermobils get up to 65-70 some times.

RYAN, we're bout a 1/4 N of the tracks here. Some time at night, when the airs right, sound like they're comeing through the bedroom walls, but most the time we don't notice them, less your outside
Sounds like they didn't flush the AC system and plugged  a valve, or they don't have the right amount of gas in it. You can run the right pressure on the  and still be +/- on volume.

Well need to get back outside, gotta fire going burning limbs n scrap wood, still got a little mowing to do also.

Morning all!

Just some coffee to go this morning Chloe!  Thanks!

Ryan,

Most of the plumbing and electrical is in.  Heating and ductwork too.  We're starting to get to the point of insulation, then drywall.

Hope the truck doesn't cost too much.

Looks like breakfast, lunch, and dinner is on me again! Chloe, you know the drill....

Belly up and place your orders....

The repair shop said that the truck would be ready to pick up yesterday afternoon, so I got off work early and picked up Monique early from her work and went to the place before they closed at 6:00 pm. We get there at 5:20 and the service assistant tells me that the AC system had to be recharged again, and to sit tight for 15 minutes. After about 20 minutes he tells me they recharged the system but it is only blowing cool air, not cold. Now he wants to keep it overnight to have the technician work on it some more, and that it might be a clogged orifice valve or clogged condenser. He said that the compressor might have clogged up the system hoses and such when it jammed up. I just hope it does not result in more $$$ from the original estimate. I am supposed to hear back from them this morning, I just want my truck back, and however, car pooling does save us money on gas.

PC, walking is one of the best low stress exercises and it does a body good too! And the best part is there is really no special equipment needed, just a pair of good shoes and your good to go!

BTW, when is your house going to be finished? LOL, just kidding, looks like they are progressing very well. What’s the next phase, electrical and plumbing I bet!

Paul, hope the filling works out with the tooth! Can you say “root canal”, sounds like that may be the alternative.

Mark, sounds like a great birthday party! Ice cream cake….. YUM!

Scratch, you just need to add the URL for the website where the image is located and place it in between the two image tags. And welcome to the CS Sign - Welcome [#welcome]. Sit a spell and tell us about yourself, modeling trains info, where you from…..

Oh, looks like Ed already addressed your image issue, thanks Ed!

Almost, but you left out the "address" of the picture that goes between the img tags.  You do have them uploaded to a photo hosting website, don't you?  I mean, I hope you're not trying to post a photo that is still on your computer's hard drive.

Hope the dentist thing works out.  Too late to change the plans and add a hatch.  They're past that point.  Matter of fact, it's starting to look a lot like a house!  Took this about an hour ago......

What a day!
well I went to visit my sis in DC, was taking train back
HHP-8 had some propulsion problem in baltimore but managed to get us underway.
At Wilmington DE she wouldn't pull, so...
I was transferred to the Acela to NY, nice first class, very quiet.
In New York Amtrak made up a new train to take the place of the older one with an AEM7
Managed to get to South Station.
No camera but here are the catches-
P42 baggage and passenger consist
SW8
SW8
HHP-8
HHP-8
MARC inbound
MARC inbound
VRE terminal with GP40's and F40's
Amtrak Coach yard
Amtrak Dash 8's and P42's
Regional-DC ( can't list all in same order)
Acela's
after being transferred to the acela we went on passing MOW equipment south of Philly and a bunch of SEPTA at 30th Street station
Moving on we saw more SEPTA as well as some of their old PCC's forlorn in a parking lot
We saw some More Regionals and acelas as we went north, I forget the stop but a train of 2 AEM7's some amfleets and a 2 level sleeper/lounge/diner on the end
in NY I was transferred to the NEW #172
After crossing the hell gate bridge we passed  a train of containers
I saw some of the street trackage in bridgeport
in new Haven I saw 3 SW1500's
3 P42's
a GP40 in SLE
an AEM7 on a regional, and another Acelaalso while waiting in the station a CSX train ( looked like garbage) ran past us wiith a GP40-2 on each end, we passed another freight east of Old Saybrook
Also between East Saybrook and New London there's an old caboose in a lumber yard, I didn't see much but the old Westerly Yard and station, Kingston Station, but then came Providence
There was an MBTA train in the Station and beyond the MOW equipment, a P&W GP40 was holding  a line of tankcars behind  a coal train which looked bound for Bow, nothing except MBTA to Boston and a few Amtrak's as well as Stoughton Jct and Canton Viaduct
It was fun but long and I'm Tired

Goodnight

Well all not a lot happening here .running my engine 2243 got bill for the other engine today wasn't ready for that amount but well its worth it ($130.00) (was figuring $75.00) lol yeah right in my dreams.

Okay bought my first n scale car today. Yes I've always said I would have a small n scale layout in the upper part of my 8' by 11' layout in the back left corner it will be raise about foot or so above my lionel layout hoping to have a n scale virginian engine and cars. The car I bought today was a N&W boxcar by atlas with knuckle coupler on it . You n scalers don't get your hopes up these things are to small for me but I think I can get an oval of track on my crner shelf that I'm putting up there so it will look like another train up in the mountains (funny how my mountains are just happening be running to that back corner lol)

Oh well will have a diet sprite please chole ty

Later all

Hey PC: I got this one. You take my back for me. Those guys can get brutal. You could do what I did. I had a hatch put in the roof when we put on the new roof. It's makes it real easy to clean the chimany and is a great place to watch the trains. The trees have gotton so big that I can't see the railroad from the house.

The dentist took out the filling and didn't find a cause for the pain. I've got a temporary filling to see what happens. If the pain doesn't go away We'll have to try something else.

Well I'm going to cut and run. I'll see you all later.

Hey guys! I'll take a Banana Smoothy with vanilla Ice Cream in it today. Not much going on with me, I've been busy the past few days so I haven't had much a chance to do things in the way of Model Railroading. I did get that GP15 I just got running really nice though, I lubed everything up with a little plastic compatable oil, and she runs really, really nice. Now I've just got to find the time to paint her up.

Today I'm hoping to get the turntable on my module motored up and wiried so it will actually work! Our clubs next show is at the end of September, and so I really want to get the thing working by then.

They do sound good, but I'm not that close.  Those pics were on a telephoto lens.  I'm about a 1/4 mile at the closest and the tracks angle away from me slightly.

At those speeds though, you don't have long to get your pic.  You either nail it, or you miss it completely!

Happy B-Day [bday] James.

I'm gettin ready to head for the dentist. I hope that taking out the filling and replaceing it will do the job.

Cudaken: No point in spending a bunch of money on a really good system. Those Hueys that I flew pretty well took care of my hearing.

Ryan.: I'm still getting together prototype info. When I get this picture posting figured out I'll post some pics.

Time to go. I'll see you all later.

Dropped off the Chevy S10 pickup at the repair shop this morning, and still waiting to get an estimate on the AC compressor replacement and how much $$$ it will take to complete that job. Just got the call from the shop, $1,199.00 for a new compressor with a lifetime warranty, a new belt, system charge with freon and labor.  Why does it seem like this truck is starting to cost as much as a new car note???

Monique went to the endodontist yesterday and all results are negative, everything looks normal with the bone growth shown on the X-rays below the teeth.

Good morning.

Hope both Oz and Hoople had great birthdays.

Ferguson, Hope you drop in often and have fun with us.

Now for a sick joke,

Years ago there was a baker's assistant whose sole job was to pour the dough mixture for making sausage rolls (apparently the royal family loved sausage). Because people were identified by their professions, he was just called Richard the Pourer.

One day Richard ran out of some key ingredients, namely a secret spice he used in the batter. He called his apprentice and sent him to the store to buy more spices. When the apprentice arrived at the store, he found that he had forgotten the name of the ingredient..

Hoping that the storekeeper might be able to figure it out, he described it to him by saying, "It's for Richard the Pourer, for batter for wurst.".

Hope you all have a great day, after this story I better run....

Morning everyone!

Zoe, a moxie please!  Thanks!

Wow, great pics everyone!  Even the kind of frightening ones from James.  Good thing that hiway is there!

As to my pics, that view is going to be VERY shortlived.  That's the view out of my son's soon to be bedroom window.  It's the only window on that side of the house from that floor.  Pretty soon there will be about 35 houses between those tracks and his window, so that view will be completely blocked.  That's OK though, because I can just walk up to the front of the community and sit in the park up there and take pictures all day long (once I check on the legality of that of course).  That should afford me some really desent pics.

So, how's everyone doing today?

cudaken,

To kind of answer your question, I'm packing a custom built Fender Stagemaster (built to my specs by the artists department at Fender.  They're the ones who build the special guitars for all the top name musical artists to use), a one off Godin Radiator (the actual factory prototype, so I guess that would make it Radiator #1), a BC Rich Warlock with custom graphics, a home-made Fender Stratocaster knockoff (very high quality), and a Fender acoustic 12 string guitar, all run through a BC Rich, a Crate, or a Peavey amp, depending on what I'm in the mood for.  You probably guessed it, I make my own music.
