RT, my prayers are with you and your wife, I am so sorry.
I know I keep saying this but thank you to all of you I haven't been here very long but I all feel more like I'm part of a family. The support that I have received has been incredible and I hope I can be as faithful to keep all of you(especially those in need) in my daily prayers.
lisap wrote:Thank you to everone who is praying, yeaterday was very hard, it was the 1st day we started the packing and even though I knew my MIL was going to die I think it realy hit home with soting and packing her stuff up. It bothers me sometimes that all the siblings are not helping neither with the packing or with the expenses but they're quick to let Mom know what they want from the house, I guess it just doesn't make sense to me. Oh well I can only control my own feelings not change anyone else.
Lisa -
I can relate to this as both of my parents went thought this same crap with their parents possessions. My mother was a only child and had 2 cousins, one of which thought that she could just take whatever she wanted from my grandparents belongings after they had past. My mother rarely taks to them now and it has been will over 15 yrs. As for my dad, he's the middle of 3 kids and his brother and sister rarley went to the nursing home to visit their father before he passed on. Part of their problem came after the house was sold, I don't think the $$$ was divided evenly between the 3 of them after the bills had been paid and all. Oh well.

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
Inch, I have no idea if they changed out the drier and oil in the AC; I will have to check the invoice again. The AC is still not right though, when I speed up the air gets warmer, and when I slow down and at a stop it gets colder. You would think it would have the opposite issue, get colder the faster I drive. I am going to have to give them another call soon. BTW, good story you got there about the nuts and the cemetery. And again, nice pics you go there!
James, nice SD45-2 your got there running on the layout.
Lisa, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time of need. I agree, at these times everyone copes differently, sometimes it does not make sense of their coping strategies, but in the end your faith in God will get you through this too.
Good luck and the dentist Paul!
Der John, that mango might be a bit too big for the railroad to haul, so you might want to let the CS take it off their hands and have it on the lunch menu for tomorrow….. LOL
Flip, glad to see you made it to the CS. Hope you are not too busy to check in more frequently, I’ve been getting your emails still…
Gumby, sorry about your cousin, prayers are with you and the family.
Luct, prayers and thoughts for the CFO and that the surgery goes smoothly.
RT, prayers go out to Edythe and you and that the cancer is cured soon.
Cheers,

Good day Coffee Shop Buds!
Finally put in a day of model railroading and got a lot done on the layout yesterday, about 6 hours worth of work total. Ben even helped me for a few hours, and he assisted with the Dewalt variable speed drill. It was nice to spend some time with him workin’ on the railroad…
Here are a few pics of the layout progress:
Cork roadbed glued down in the south side yard area
Cork roadbed at crossover
Purchased the Malibu brand 1:87 automobiles at Wal-Mart on Friday.
Ben at work on the railroad…
Completed benchwork on east wall section around AC and window
Testing cardboard and masking tape scenery building technique, plaster shell is going to be the next step.
I will check back with you all again later today, just got a help desk call to attend.

They were very close to my cousin and took the news of his death hard. It has been a very emotional day trying to support my parents and help my kids understand what was going on.
Sorry to hear of the loss.
Gumby, I'll add you to the prayer list. You're right after Lisa, Luc & Glo, RT & Edythe. Man, lot's of praying to do! Best get at it.
Morning all!
Just coffee, thanks!
Not much going on here. Home computer crashed this weekend so I wasn't around here. I managed to fix the problem and upgrade it at the same time. I've got XP on there, Norton's up, and the internet is back, but theres still lots to do.

I'd like to be real clear on this. The area that they said I was trespassing in was NOT marked for no trespassing, private property, or keep out. It was a public fire access road. I was not trespassing when I was on that road. Your message is correct, but it insinuates that I was in the wrong on that road, and I wasn't. That fact is clear in that no charges were even filed and the lead officer called to apologize for the incident. See the scene of the crime for yourself. These pics were taken that night as I was escorted by one of the officers to take these pics to clear my name. The officer even stated at that time that there was NO indication that I was not allowed to proceed. (Sorry they're kind of blurry. I was still shaken from the ordeal.)
Here's the road......
http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/Prototype%20Train%20Photos/Captured2006-8-1700011.jpg
And here's the ONLY sign at the entrance to that road, or in fact, on that road at all........

Maybe this was a grey area, I don't know, but they didn't think I'd done any wrong in the end so they aren't going ahead with it.
The real message is that we, as railfans, need to be careful that our actions aren't misconstrued as to being something they're not. Maybe I wasn't careful enough, and I paid the price for that. The real message is that we should never trespass on someone else's property, as you said. We should make our intentions clearly known at all times. And if it's a grey area, er on the side of caution, please, for your own sake.
I know you probably understood all of that in the first place, but I just want to be sure that everyone here gets it. It seems that some haven't understood it correctly, judging from the Emails I've been getting. You guys in the coffee shop have been great and I concider you to be friends, so I want to be very straight with you all especially.
Morning All:
Prayers for Glo. Hope that the surgery works out well.
JimCG: The ore loads were mailed Friday ao you may look for them at anytime.
Time to get to work so I'll say have a good one and I'll see you all later.
Der, It's not that the frigates haave gotten bigger, Fergie is converting his ship to ho scale !
Good Morning All,
I have been so busy that I had togive up a couple of things I enjoy to try to catch up. No Mrring lately and I haven't been here as well - just too much work to cope with.
My prayers for Glo and Edyth and any others you are all in my thoughts. Another couple of weeks at the grindstone and w'll be through Watkins Glen and into the start of the season wind down (and time tocatch up on long term work I hope). CUL, J.R.
Good morning ! from Indiana.

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. Another productive day in grandson reality training. I hope this will stick, because some of the answers they are giving to the cause-and-effect questions would indicate that they are listening. Surprise fireworks this evening. Held over from last Sunday night as the close of the Sheet Harbour Sea Side Festival. It rained heavily then, and was clear tonight, with a crescent new moon just in and out of the clouds. One adult male really in touch with nature opined that it was the sunset. I kid you not!
Ed: thanks for the explanation on the install. I had pictured something like a back-to-back Compressor and fan unit sandwich with the wall as the “filling”. You’ve got the compressor quite a distance from the fans, which makes more sense for the noise.
OZJim, RT has it right, it’s an O Scale SD40! No, you’re right, it’s N.
Luc: Will be praying for Gloria and you, and the surgical team.
In the paper this morning was a photo of Fergie’s Coast Guard ship the CCGS Terry Fox at Dundas Harbour with one of our frigates, HMCS Montreal. From the look of the environmental safeguards, she was refueling the naval ship. Frigates sure have grown since WWII!
(Photo Credit Bob Weber / CP) ....and where, you ask is Dundas Harbour? Ah! Grasshopper, all will be revealed....
Good night all, and God Bless. Prayers for al in need of healing, comfort and peace.

Hi.
Just a quick visit for now, CFO is being admitted to the hospital for surgery scheduled for 1230 Atlantic time tomorrow. We hope this will resolve some major pain in her lower abdomen. Results later in the week.
I think I posted this site before but as we have many new faces around, I think all will enjoy this place http://www.railroadradio.net/index.php It will link you to a variety of train dispatch, controllers and detectors around the USA. Enjoy.
Hope you all had a great day,
Happy MRRing.
Evening Gang: Just a quick one tonight and I'm off to bed. Nothint on the MRR front. We bought an 8X10 storage building to store the 7 1/2in gauge steam locomotive and the diesel in. I've got to get some trees trimed and level up a site by friday for it. It's not the ideal situation but it's better than having them under tarps in the weather.
Hi Flip: It's been awhile. Nice to have you back. So what's been going on?
Well I'm off to bed. Good Night All
Good Evening Gentlemen,
Had a pretty good day, went to church and had a nice visit with MIL, she always seems especially out of it on Sundays, not sure why but she seemed in good spirits otherwise,
Happy Jack, all the big stuff is in the will, so my MIL wisely insited that those items be put in storage until she goes, it's things like furniture(that no one seems to want, but some say thow away others say sell).
Alex
to all I have not met. Been to darn busy to get on and stay to reply. I must be 20 pages behind. Prayers for those who are hurting and prayers for all others.
Jack- know the feeling. At the funeral services for my Mother , at the casket , a cousin TOLD my wife which items she wanted. Gee !!! Too bad , cuz , not in the will.
Got my CDL with passenger endorsement so am now driving a Ford f350 with wheelchair lift. NOISY , but it cuts down on stupid conversations.
Now dinner is ready , so off I go. Bedtime is still between 9 and 9:30 .
Blessings toall.
Flip
HAPPYJACK: Went through that when my Father died 23 years ago. Still have a younger sister that won't speek to me.
INCH: Beautiful pictures of the IC stuff. Took a picture of an IC RS going into the old Hercules Plant in Hattiesburg last week. Shot it from inside the truck and it didn't come out good. The engine was going behind some tanks by the time I got the camera out. I was stuck at a red lite and couldn't go anywhere. That is now Canadian National trackage so I should be able to find it when I get a chance.
Well we have Hurricane Ernesto headed for the gulf acording to the radio today. Glad I have a contractor hired for the remodeling in Hattiesburg. You know when these hurricanes hit you can't find a builder.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
LATER, NEAL
Hi everyone, I have been sitting it out on the sidelines the last week here. Did not want to get drawn it on the issue's surrounding PC. Lisa, Isn't it wonderful how a death can bring out the really ulgy side of others in a family. Lose 2 borthers and my Dad last year, I was in charge of my Dads accounts, etc. seemed every time I turned around all I heard was what are you doing with that? who gets this? and I want that! I have seen alot of families stop talking for years over a loved ones things.

Good evening all, a slice of Pizza and a Coke for me please.
Lisa: The best of luck to you and yours. I know how it feels to have a relitive going through that.
Well, today has been a pretty productive day for me. Went to Wal-Mart and picked up a Norscot scraper. Its amazing what we've been able to find at Wally World lately. Then, I came home and worked on the railroad.
Yesterday afternoon was pretty interesting as well. (I didn't have a chance to post much yesterday, so I'm doing it today!) From Hopkinsville, I headed 13 miles or so north along the CSX Henderson Subdivision to Crofton, KY, ate dinner at the Crofton Diner (a very good establishment, I might add), and chatted with the local police for a while in the city hall parking lot. I heard the crossing arms go down, looked up, and saw a long Union Pacific coal drag. I watched it for a while and heard another loud rumble. It was a helper SD90MAC in the middle. You don't see that around here every day! (the Crofton City Hall is right next to the tracks, by the way. Very good viewing from there).
Well, I guess I'm gonna leave you all with that for now, happy railroading to all!
