Good morning ! from Indiana.

Here's a couple shots of a preserved TH&B Consolidation ( Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo Railway ) Consolidations of this type were the backbone of the TH&B's freight pool , they even pulled local mixed passenger trains as well. This is the only steamer left from their once large roster. This guy is preserved at the Westerfield Pioneer Villiage just outside of Cambridge Ontario.

Good evening again folks, I trust that everyone's doing well. First off greetings to HOOPLE and JAMES from down under.
To Fergurson of Fergie MK 2.LOL We could always refer to the original as MK 1 and the new one as MK 2 what do you folks think
LISA -The water making process sounds quite good > one suggestion for your factory district is a mix of flats and full buildings, I like to mix and match DPM and the New Walther's modulars stuff.
Paul - Here's hopping that the tooth gets fixed ,might just be a sensitive exposed root , I had one like that a few years back , the dentist ended up capping it and I haven't had any problems since .
PC- Nice looking photograph , perhaps as houses get built around you , you'll be luckey and no one will block your view too badley. The angle reminds me of my wife and my's first apartment,we could look out our bedrrom window and see an excellant view of Brantfords VIA station and the CN yard.We didn't hear the trains after we had lived there about a month , something you get used to.
Rob
Might be the wrong places for this question but I am sure there are othere high end steroe lovers here?
Been a while sences I turly cranked the gear with the music I love, classical and way more demaning than rock.
Don't get me wrong, I still love Billy Idoel, AC/DC, Boston and others. OK I am old!
If you happen to be a Audiophile what are you packing?
My self here is the list of what is running now.
Preamp Carver 4000 T and must say the best Soild State amp I have heared.
CD player Adcom GCD-575, no reason for a decoder for this one.
Deck is a Yamaha K-700, I was going to Reel to Reel before I came across this deck! No hiss and I have good ears, eyes on the other hand, well that is a driffrent subject.
Tunner is a Adcom GFT-1A and still work great.
Subwoofler is a NHT SA-1 and not a slab sub. Amp is free standing so I can change the volume and adjust the cross over point with out getting up. Only a 8" ported sub but very musical. If you want to feel a T-Rex stomp not for you. But pick out the lower range and enjoy great sub.
Meat to the bone, Speaker and amps! First of all my babys are Dahlquest DQ 10 (train people they are Brass engines). Bought them new ib 1983 and cost me $1600.00 with monster cables. Ran them on a Adcom GFA-1A 200 watts a side and love them too about 88dB then amp would shut down. That was loud and I knew no better then.
Fast forward to 2004, speakers foam had dry rotted and had sleep for 10 years thanks to the wife. Bug bite again and stereo was fired up after sleeping.. Blew the foam off the drivers and sound like Boess 901's. OK, they sstill sounded better than 901's.
With a lot of work the DQ 10's lived again, new foam, redoing the cross overs but OEM caps still work great..
Then I made the next jump, more power. DQ 10 love power and 200 watts they are going "is that all you got?"
I made the jump to Mono Blocke amps at 600 watts a side at 8 ohms! Using Adcom GFA-555's mono blocked and the first time I turly heard the DQ 10's after 30 years of having them. You want to talk sound stage. I have had 6 people that asked what speakers where playing and woulde pass the DQ's going to the Keff Q75.2's.
Any other ASudio freaks here besides me??
Audiophile Ken, cranking again
I hate Rust
Man Phillip, you got it good! I have to drive 5 miles to get anywhere near a railroad. I wish I had the ability to wake up to the thug-a-thug-a-thug of a passing freight train. Then again, I would probably get tired of it after a while...
Kidding of course!
-Brandon
EG, epoxy leaves a better shine and is more flexable when tacky for waves and ripples but it is more expensive(that's where mod podge comes in)
RT, I think I will do that might be easier to work with too.
Good Evening Coffee Clubbers,
Nothing new to report from down here SOB.
Trip to the grove was postponed due to unforseen circumstances, but we should be back out there tomorrow.
Daughter and Son-in-law are coming down for a visit at the end of next week. That means that a couple of packages of train stuff that I have ordered on the internet will be coming south with them. One of these days I need to get adventurous and try having a shop mail me a package directly. So far I have settled for having stuff sent to their house in Texas, and when we come north I pick it up there.
Lisa, one question. Why do you pour a layer of epoxy on top of the modge podge? Purely academic interest, as I have no water on my layout and have never worked with either material.
Hoople!
James down in Oz.
That's about all for tonight. Got to check and see if my Boston Red Sox have any better luck against the Angels than they did against the Yankees last weekend. What a disaster that was.
Hasta maƱana,
Ed
Cute putty tat RT!
Hey guys, just thought I'd show you this. I was out at the new house today and a train passed by. I don't think I can get arresed for taking pictures of trains going past my house if I take them while standing in my house, can I? I'm not real sure anymore!http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/Prototype%20Train%20Photos/Captured2006-8-2200010.jpghttp://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/Prototype%20Train%20Photos/Captured2006-8-2200011.jpgRailfanning just isn't the same anymore!
JAMES
Did this once already but some reason it didn't post so watch now I'll have it twice.
Anyway got my 2243 Santa Fe engine running but will still have to do some repairs on it but that will be down the road. Need to buy a wheel/gear puller and a gear for the power truck. She sure wanted to go after I cleaned about 50 years of gunk (dried up gunk at that ) out of the gears. took me a while but got it out and cleaned the truck all up (gunk on the inside of it) has a worm gear in there man it was a job to get it all cleaned up but now at least its running fair till I get it completely cleaned up and relubed. the couplers for it and the B unit should be in by friday so then at least it will be a complete and running set.
Lisa you may want to join www.photobucket.com also as there you don't have the restriction to just train pics and its free also.
This is uncle Crackers he got his name as when he was born his mother a new mother didn't know to get the bag off of him so my wife ended up doing it and he lost oxegen for a little so hes a little slow in the mind but he is smart as a whip. just takes him a little to get it but when he gets it hes has down pact from there on.
And this is one of my trained squirells LOL
have a good night all
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

Well James, Happy Birthday to you!
Hoople,
I thought you might catch THAT!
HOOPLE
hows it going all doing fine today . Not much happening this evening just doing some last minute cleaning to the room before constuction starts LOL.
Talk to you all later
Afternoon everyone: I think that I am now sure about which tooth is giving me the trouble. I was drinking a diet coke at lunch when some of it hit the last moler on the upper left. A half hour later when they managed to get me off the ceiling I called the dentist and he's going to see me in the morning. I lucked out and he had a cancellation.
I got all the parts for the New River mine and the Glacier Gravel kits copied. Now I'm going through all my books and copying photos of the mine tipples. I'll do one concentrater and the rest will be mine heads and tipples. The concentrator will take up the most room. They were huge operations. I just hope that I can selectively compress the thing without loosing the impact of it.
It's 15 minutes to go home. I spent the whole day repairing the nose on the allagator. Someone hit him right on the end with a piece of concrete. At least with a layout you don't have a bunch of guests throwing chuncks concrete at it.
I'll say so long until later.
Tarp: You were alittle premature in buying. I'll get this one. You'er welcome PC.
My turn to buy, I guess. I really enjoy all your posts and read them every day.
Happy birthday to those having them. At my age I figure on skipping a couple and let all of you catch up.
Here in Tucson it cooled down a bit, not much over 94 today.
No train stuff going on for me. I have been building a D7 Cat from a D8 in 1-24 scale with a cable winch for the blade. I also have one in HO for logging.
Lisa, I like your water system and am going to use your ideas for my log pond and stream when I get going on a logging diorama soon. I kit bashed a 3 drum steam donkey and want to make a high lead logging show to go with a narrow gauge Shay loco and log cars.
Praying for all who need it.

Top that off with her throwing her knee out again (it happens from time to time....part of the diesese ya know), and I'll also be the family doctor today.

Good morning!
Worked out again at the Y last night, speed walked 1 mile with Monique and Ben, played and practiced racquetball for an hour with Ben, then worked out on the Cybex machines for about 45 minutes. And I slept like a log last night, I find that the more physical exercise I get during the day I will had a sound night of sleep.
Noah, as long as you are on TOP I will have a bagel with cream cheese and butter, coffee, and some carrot juice!
Lisa, you have a great technique and description on the water, rivers, and lakes, and thanks for sharing that with us. Posting images on the forum is a bit tricky at first but once you get it down it is really easy to do. You will need to register with one of the free file image hosting sites such as rail images, shutter fly, etc. Upload the images to your registered name, folders, or albums. Then when posting an image you must use the forum code opening and closing image tags on either side of the URL, and then enter the website location for that image file, see the example below ( when you use the code remove the asterisk *, I put these in so you could see the code)

Good Morning to all, No time for trains today, need to visit Mom today, she has some projects for her "son". I may have time later today but time will tell.

Evening Gang: Well the dentist trip was a bust. With all the pain he couldn't find a problem with any of the teeth. He picked and poked and taped and not a bit of pain. He gave me a perscription for a pain killer and I'm taking some antibiotics. I hope that will take care of that.
Fergerson. As RT said we have a Fergie here already so we'ed better figure out a way to tell you apart with out using all those letters in Fergerson. Besides I have the feeling I've spelled it wrong to. You will find that we are a somewhat lazy lot when it comes to doing anything except MRRing. Let us know some about yourself, please. Besides lazy we're noisy. Have a cup of coffee or a glass of your favorite drink on me.
I'm going to head for bed. I hope that the pain killer goes to work soon because I've got a wopper of a headach.
Good Night All
