Hey all, just dropping by really quick.
Garry, Darn, Having 6244 and 5383 run together was cool. (there is a b/w picture on there page). Oh well, the Chinese red scheme is a nice one too. Just so you know, BN retired their SD24s in 1982. 6248 was retired early due to a wreck. The other 15 units were all traded in the GE on 6/82 on the B30-7A(B) order. Of these units, four were sold by GE to MMID. Those being the 6244,6250,6252,and 6255. 6244 went to IRM at Union, the 6250 went to the Museum in Green Bay via FRV/WC, the 6252 went to Peavey Grain in 9/86 and then to ConAgra with their facility. The 6255 went to LTE via FRV/WC and was scrapped.
Robby, nice pictures of those hoppers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S53K6J7Zvlw I got the mars light working on my U28B. 5451 in an ex-CB&Q unit, instead of adding a beacon to it, I'm letting keep it's mars light. Just wish that the QSI sound ones allowed this. Now I have the fun of doing (Most of my roster ends up being Ex-CB&Q) that or adding operating beacons to all of my units. The SD9s and GP9s will be the toughest since I'll have to add new headlight fixtures if I want to do mars lights.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Good Evening, Flo - I'll have one of those steaks that Galaxy's buying (so kindly) for us tonight. Oh, yes, and some brocolli, a side salad with Italian dressing, baked potato with sour cream AND butter, and a nice glass of your nice Finger Lakes wine, please. Thanks, G!
Garry, those were some interesting photos of the various parts of the SD-24 they're restoring. About as much work as some steam loco restorations I've heard about. Saw your clouds in WPF - great job, now, how much work did it take to get those looking good again (or do I want to ask)?
BridgeTom, it sounds like you will be busy beaver for a while with Baccalaureate and other music stuff, eh? I was trying to find me a photo of a nice Viking helmet to blend into your photo of 'Uff-Dah'... Does he also like any Wagner, as well? Are Remington and Spooky still romping through the house at times, or have they (comparatively) settled down? (Somehow, I would not expect that of those two..)
Corey - thanks for posting the other view of your bridges in WPF - That helped give me a better perspective of how the original (car) bridge was laid out (and its road approaches).
Well, I went by H-L and found a 'Sand' color of paint that looked pretty usable, so I bought it with my 30 percent off coupon.
Also, went by the LHS and talked with my fellow MRR member and LHS owner, Ron. I found out that Kadee's 10 and 20-coupler packs now come in the smaller manila envelopes, instead of the plastic blister cards that they used to be in. Threw me off, cause I was looking for the old style. He said the coupler packs are coming that way now. So got a 20 pack of the #5 couplers, and also picked up a couple of SSW (Cotton Belt) covered hoppers (PS2 - 2003 cu. ft.). He stocks a number of Cotton Belt items - I guess because it was the name the RR was when he first started working as a RR man (before it became SP and then UP). Got me one of the hoppers as a Bowser kit and the other as an Athearn RTR. Wasn't sure if I already had that car # or not, so I checked when I got home. Yep, Mr. Murphy did it again - I had that number already, so emailed Ron back to ask him if he would bring me a different number at the MRR club meeting Monday night and let me swap. Put the numbers of the four #'ed covered hoppers that I already have, so that should help.
Now, I have all my covered hopper kits out (SSW/Cotton Belt, D&RGW, Frisco, and 3 ATSF ones - Kato ones I got on the 'Bay a while back), to nag myself into putting more kits together tonight/tomorrow.
I also got a Mother's Day card for my daughter, and went to take it by their place, but she (and SIL and the world's most handsome grandson ever) were gone - probably to his mother's and Sarah's mother's (both in Poplar Bluff, 90 miles away).
Really nice afternoon today - lots of sunshine (now that the clouds all moved out in the late morning, probably Rob's way?). And did anybody hear from Ryan lately? He hasn't seemed to be in for a while - hopefully, that means he's making progress on his layout.
Robby, ain't that the luck - get the bargain on the flowers, but you wind up having to spend (some of?) the savings on additional pots to plant them in. Oh, well... Hey, liked your 'plutonium storage shed' in WPF.
[Edit] Well, between the WiFi at Panera's (which is out, so we're having to use the one from the Popeye's Chicken place next door, which comes and goes as per signal strength) and (maybe) the forum's slowness tonight... I'm just glad this only posted once..
I'm gonna kick back with my steak and munchies and watch the late afternoon sun - wonderful quality of light this time of year when it's late in the afternoon. Nothing like a backlighted switcher doing its last spotting duties of the day's run....
A great Mother's Day for those of your celebrating the day with your Mum.
Blessings and prayers,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
GALAXY: Hey, sorry if I insulted, offended, irritated, ticked-off, or otherwise created any ire and or rancor about that cat box. Now I know "the rest of the story." I guess I'm pretty lucky in that my wife's evil cat pretty much has her own "apartment" thanks to having enough rooms in the house. That, and my dog would otherwise reduce said evil cat to bloody scraps of fur. Too bad there isn't a utility room, bathroom, porch, corner of an otherwise unusable basement, corner of a minefield... availible for the box.
Again, sorry if I hit a nerve.
GARRY: thanks for posting the link, really cool to see the work they're doing. Makes me wish I had the bucks (and facilities) to have a crew restore my fire engines.
Sunny, warm, and windy here...finally got the front yard mowed, and a start on the back. I'll finish it tomorrow. Loving Wife has been working towards advanced certification in weed mitigation/shrubbery re-sizing.
Might try to get a little farther on the fuel tank project, while the race is on...DARLINGTON, and my driver is on the pole.
A good, SAFE evening to all,

Hi Gang: Just a note to let you know that I'm still alive and kicking. Absolutely nothing doing on the MRR front. I've been busy with the ranch things and still getting behind. At least we now have some grass for the little darlings. We've been getting some rain but still not enough to fill our pond. Untill that is full the drought is still on.
Well I had better get going.
Take care.

Well how about a middle afternoon snack. Cheese fries, and a sweet tea.
Haven't done anything train related. Mostly yard work. Weeded the drive way, and went to Lowes. The wife was offered $20 for 50 daiseys, and about 10 other plants. So.......Here we come home, car full of flowers.
Thats what I have been doing all day!!!
Well time to go get some dirt/pots. Seems like we dont have that many pots .
Everybody have a good one.
"Rust, whats not to love?"
Morning all. Wow, I missed a couple of days and about 5 pages, it seems.
Well, the Santa Barbara fire is still going, though it's slowed down a little. Hasn't hit the city, it's still up in the Santa Ynez mountains, but 23,000 people have been evacuated from the hills and there's orders up for another 34,000 to be prepared at a moment's notice. We've got fire crews down there from all over the state--even sent some some crews from Sacramento down there. The problem is that the fire's happened so early that the State and Forest Service haven't hired their seasonal crews yet, so experienced manpower is at a real premium right now. In other words, it's a MESS!
But the winds are supposed to die down this weekend, so hopefully they can get a working fireline around it.
Jeff: Those UP models are terrific. And that one low-angle photo of the loco coming toward you is SPECTACULAR! Great work, guy!
Garry: Yah, a transcontinental water pipeline from us to you doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. The rivers out here are way up, coming out of the Sierra, and it's WAY too early. We normally don't get our high runoff out here until the middle of June. At least the reservoirs are filling up, but for how long, I don't know.
Well, going back to Jesuit Monday. Ed Trafton, our resident arranging Genius (and I DO mean Genius) at the school and Fr. Wanser have the music for Baccalaureate all ready. He called me yesterday. I asked him if the music was sight-readable, he just gave me an Evil Chuckle. He's playing the piano, I'm on keyboard (string section, LOL!) so we're getting together Monday to get the parts down. The service is the week after next, on Wednesday the 19th, so we have to get the choir, brass section, percussion section and everything all together for it. It's like directing a Movie Epic, LOL! Next to the annual Baccalaureate Mass, the Graduation ceremony is a slam-dunk.
That's about it from SunnyCal right now. Time to feed the cats. "Uff-Dah the Viking" is out in the living room on his back listening to Richard Strauss on the CD player, Her Highness Spooky is looking up at me with her, "Well, Daddy?" look. Time to open up the cans of Fancy Feast (you don't think they'd eat something as 'common' as Purina, did you? ).
Best to all, prayers to those in need.

Tom View my layout photos! http://s299.photobucket.com/albums/mm310/TWhite-014/Rio%20Grande%20Yuba%20River%20Sub One can NEVER have too many Articulateds!
Hi guys!
I'll have 1 thin piece of ham and 1 piece of swiss on rye, celery and carrot sticks on the side with fat free ranch dressing for dipping sauce, please.
Whew! hows that for a diet starter? I weigh 220 and need to be about 180. My down fall really is sandwiches with deli meats {processed} and cheeses and potato chips on the side. We both love love love cheese around here.....we did by fat free cheese, and when the current cheese runs out, we will {groan} try it out along with the fat free mayo we now have. Anything that wasn't veggies we bought the other day was all fat free/cholesterol free/no sugar added/no or low sugar. {we BOTH could use a diet and we BOTH need to reduce cholesterol}. It is not that I am opposed to veggies....elsewise I wouldn't have spent $40.00 on salad greens and such for the garden as I do every year!!! But veggies all the time I can't do, I am Sam I am.
To those who suggest NO LITTER BOX IN THE LAYOUT/JUNK room- I hear you loud and clear, HOWEVER- The cats are my other half 's, came with the package, and I {and the layout} rank second! SO, there WILL be a second litter box in there, or in the kitchen...which would you choose to have it in???????? It AINT GONNA GO IN THE KITCHEN!!! The idea of the hooded litter box is what we will do...we have one of those in the bathroom. It's a matter of finding one in the store and having the money to buy it at the same time. I will just have to cover the layout is all. With a Dollar store $1 dropcloth is all.
I got some nice juicy T-bone steaks for just $4.99/lb. They will make for great grilling later....IF I can find the grill! It is buried on the fronteh porch....I'm gonna tear into it and start throwing stuff out!!! I'm in that mood!
Tomorrow we go to MIL's for dinner...FIL wants ribs for them we want BBQ chicken, so we get 2 of each as take out to take. MIL likes chicken BBQ, but apparently hasn't been eating chicken lately. Of course it hasn't been BBQ either. We have a great 1/2 chix /2 sides BBQ joint real close here for $7.50. Ribs are down the road at $11. We are planting salad greens and mary-golds for the MIL tomorrow in the windowboxes on the back deck as her Mother's Day "flowers".
I will try the vitamin B-6 and the arm shots for the carpal tunnel but maybe will push in August for the surgery. At least the DR can't say I didn't try it!
Well my hands/arms arre getting tired of typing now so I need to go......
HAve a great day everyone!

***Corey, I hope you end up with that old Lionel train set. Do you know which version it was? A Hudson with work cars or what? Just curious.
Looks like a 60% chance of thunderstorms here today thru tonight and some may be severe. YeeHaw!
Hope everyone is having a great day.

Heartland Division CB&QI'll have a Tim Horton's French vanilla capacino along with two Tim Horton's old fashioned donuts with sugar topping. I had that in Detroit last month, and it was so good.
I'll have what Garry is having as well please-----we have 5 of those places around us!! All within walking distance no less----
I'm going to undo some track near the extension so that I can place the yard just a couple of feet down from said extension---that way I can actually build in a potash processing mill and terminus. Right now we got 80kmh winds blowing things around agaiin---and they're still calling for more of those t'undering boomers------as well as passing showers---one went by---left a few sprinkles. Saw down the road a piece---way heavier-----gonna be one of those days

Good morning........
I'll have a Tim Horton's French vanilla capacino along with two Tim Horton's old fashioned donuts with sugar topping. I had that in Detroit last month, and it was so good.
If you are interested, I just now posted a picture showing some repaired backdrop. The section of the layout has my Mrs. Hippy River bridge.
JimCG..... I like it when Hobby Lobby has sales on model train stuff because it's a good time to stock up on Woodland Scenics. However, 30% on anything would do fine.
Jeff ... the new UP units are looking great.
Happy Model Railroading.
Good Morning, Janie - I'll have the pecan waffles, with maple syrup and couple of pats of butter, glass of Ed's OJ (the tanker run came in? Great! We were getting low, I know), glass of milk and a cup of coffee in a D&RGW mug, please. Thanks!
Looks like a handful of the usual early-risers here this morning - oh Hi, Bye, Ray! - Todd, Jeff, Jerry, Barry, Lee, and it looks like a couple more pulling up outside. Guess I'd better grab a seat in the corner booth before the place gets all filled up.
Jeff, I like what you've done with that UP diesel - it looks sharp! I'm guessing it may be a bit before your ditches get drained down, with this last batch of rain through the areas to the south of Cape G. (and it looked like you were probably getting at least the edge of that nasty front). Heck, even Barry was getting some of those t-boomers!
Jerry, what've you got in store to do today, while Sallie's gone to the store? Or did you send a 'shopping list' of your own with her...?
Just finished up laundry and I'm thinking I may go to the LHS (down the road a little) and see what he has - I could stand to pick up some more Kadees for some cars, and maybe another delayed uncoupler. I want to get all the other stuff moved off the layout so I can put the uncouplers in place (pull track up, bury uncouplers, re-install track, repeat...). Then finish clearing the workbench (aka DR table), and maybe w**k some on my DPM background warehouse, putting reinforcing styrene behind the sections and glue it all together. We'll see.
H-L has a (30?) percent off coupon on Krylon sprays, so I may see about what other colors I could use for weathering some cars - dust, rust, other kinds of colors.
Ah, here comes breakfast, so I'll dig in now. Hope your weekend goes well (and the honey-do lists are short - or don't get written?).
Blessings,
Mornin' everyone!
Just popin' in for a quick cup of dark roast.
Got way to many things to get done today. Most in preparation for a meeting at 1PM today on the program for the Scholarship dinner in a week and a half. Hopefully I may actually get some time in the trainroom later.
Gotta go! Catch you all later.
Ray Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western R.R. (S.L.O.&W.) in HO

Good Morning all..Its sunny and a cooler 56 here only posta get into mid 60's today..I'll have coffee and toast please..Not much going on here on Pearl strret..My sons girl friend is taking sallie to wally World latter...You all have a good one...Jerry
Good morning. It's 72 and partly cloudy. The high today will be pushing the mercury into the high 80's. It will be partly cloudy. Changed out the couplers on the two new Atlas locos yesterday. The Accu-mates were consigned to the scrap heap as they were exchanged for Kadee 148 Whisker couplers. I went to the local scrap yard and got the part I need for my car. Looks like I'll have to wait until the end of the month to have it installed. That's gonna be $$! Looks like rain is coming tomorrow so I'll be mowing the parents yard today. That should take up 2 to 3 hours and it'll add another $20 to the MR fund. I had a derailment on the inside loop last night that wiped out several sections of fence along the east side of the Shell station property. There won't be much to putting it back up. It's the cheap snap together Bachmann stuff. Today's Weather for: Sundown, LA 71446-6114 5/9/2009 Heat Index: 77°F Humidity: 94% Dew Point: 70°F So Far Today High: 74°F Low: 72°F Rain: 0.00" Rain Rate: 0.00"/h Gust: 7mph NNE Today High: 88 Partly cloudy. Good Morning---
Sheesh did we end up with a night of t'undering boomers. I shut the 'pooter down just in time to see all kinds of lightning and what all else going on---it rained so hard at times last night we couldn't even see across the street. Not a fun night-----lotsa wind as well and even had some hail. A string of them ended up going through---4 to be exact. Managed to get to sleep around 2am---that to a chorus of departing booms and such. Today we'll just have showers and, of course, the ever popular chance a t'underboomer may show up. Our high today will be 17C and 11C is for tomorrow------
Gonna attempt to get some MR stuff done today as the ground is a little too wet to do much else------there was no honey do list kicked up just yet------ahem---cough cough
Chloe--I'll have a toast with jam and a large mug of coffee please----I'll sit by the corner booth and watch the day wake up----
Good Morning, Ham and eggs please. Coffee too thank you. Suppose to ghet to about 68 deg here so good day to be outside. Still a bit dewy to do much yet and a little early yet to make much noise. I might stop in the trainroom for a bit to let the neighbors get up and going.
Have a Great Day!

Good Evening Everyone,
Well it is still evening here for another half hour and then it will be Saturday. I had a post written a couple of days ago and all of a sudden, "poof" , it was gone just about the time I was going to hit ' post '. It was too late and I was too annoyed to re-type but I finally made it in here. Hope Chloe won't kick me out as it is getting late and I can see she is yawning at the counter. Cup of coffee for Chloe please.
Weather here is terrible. It went up to 40F here today with a strong NW wind. Tomorrow isn't supposed to be much better. Hope it is warmer where you are which I guess goes without saying for Jeff.
Seems this is the car repair season. Glad to here yours wasn't too bad Galaxy but new tires and brakes can take quite a bite out of the RR budget.
Rob, you would have to mention a timing belt. I need to replace mine this summer and found out it will cost about $400 which I didn't think was too bad. I have a Volvo S70 and some parts can be expensive as I'm sure Barry can relate to with his Audi. Mind you the car is 9 years old so I have to expect some repairs as stuff just wears. I plan on driving it until it drops which hopefully will be a long time from now. A friend of mine has a '91 Volvo that is still going strong so I have my fingers crossed.
J.R. Good to hear from you and glad to hear your foot is coming along as well as your house re-construction.
P.C. Congrats on the degree. I really admire you doing it all at night while working a full time job. I took mine all in one go many years ago and can't imagine doing that and working too. Besides it would have taken about 8 years to get it all in and I wasn't a very patient person when I was young.
Corey, When you are finished with your bridges I bet the caption on the photos will read " Is it real or is it a model?"
Well it is time for me to say Bon Soir mes amis, si Bon Soir c'est ca.
CN Charlie
Tall glass of cool lemon water, please.
***Jeffrey, ouch! Almost as much trouble as getting to a timing belt, eh?
***Robby, excellent pics! With reference like those, it's no wonder your weathering is so realistic.
***Jim, with all the rediculous "weight loss" garbage being peddled out there, one of the best weight loss porducts available IS "Veggies". Cut out all products containing refined sugars 6 days per week (hey, nobody wants to give up that addictive, energy zapping stuff forever, so 1 cheat day is acceptable), and follow a good exercise program (I strongly recommend the Bill Phillips: Body For Life program) and you will lose fat and gain muscle while doing so. With age and illness of course comes modifying such routines, but eating right is a huge part of maintaining what health you've got.
Never made it into the train room today. Maybe tomorrow.
Have a good night all.
Evenin all, oooo those wings look good! Best not have any tonight though. Obvious reasons. Not much happened today kinda slow and easy. Rained this morning and cleared off this afternoon. Yard time tomorrow. Clean up from Thursdays storm. No damage just a mess. Stopped in to the other LHS while I was in Springfield today. They carry Bachmann and I saw the 4-4-0 American. Not sure I liked it in person. For some reason it looked too toy like in real life. Might just have been that one but.... I think I'll keep looking for the right loco for the tourist train. Great to see a caboose. No matter the reason, it still is on the tracks. Just like the MKT hopper that has shown up again and is in the middle of a string of other hoppers to go out. Proves again Not much is un-prototypical. Hmmm, maybe in my world the caboose will still be a great thing to have. Gotta think about that . I likes caboosies
Jim- Not discussing w**k from w**k for a while miiiiight be a good idea. Glad to hear you dodged the storm.
Galaxy- Glad to here you got off cheaper.
I don't need proof on this cosmotology stuff I KNOW where everything came from. I'll be sure to put in a mention for ya'll when I talk to him tonight.
Now Barry quit makin this stuff up. You're just trying to divert attention from the ONE and ONLY culprit. Now if....what? Oh that. Heh heh. That's, um, a, uh....well, um, ahem, (gulp). I know it looks like a catapult trigger but it's ..... uh, Hey, where did that come from? I uh, best be getting on.
Goodnight.
Ya know, I can't believe all you intelligent folks misspelling edjykayshun. Come on people.
Jim CG said ....."Garry - what'd you decide to do on your backdrops, by the way? I second your offer to send California our excess water - I'm getting tired of one day of the sun, followed by 2 to 7 days of rain."
It's a monsoon here. Water is everywhere. We are in another t-storm now. There is much flooding........... I started repairs on existing backdrops employing arts-and-crafts methods. I'll see how it goes.
I'm going to Hershey for singig competition. After that I'm going to Harrisburg to see museams and go railfanning on Amtrack/whatever runs through there. Any requests? I'm about to hit the sack so yall might wana hurry.
G'night!
JimRCGMOSo, that cosmogony thing is like "How'd I get here, Daddy?" (Very small theological joke there...)
Exactly! At least from a Biblical standpoint.
Actually, it's more broad in scope as it attempts to take all theories into account and weigh them against the evidence. It's actually quite facinating. I may major in that as I move toward a doctorate.
Evening, Chloe - I'll have a double chocolate brownie with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream on top, please 'n' thank you!
Today at work was... interesting - in the morning, there were two moving vans parked outside the front, to get the desks and stuff for some of our billing and other admin. types' offices (which are being moved to another building the agency bought not long ago). It was raining, of course, and I saw that they'd put some wide plastic covering over the top of a couple of the desks before they were wheeling them out the door. Then later in the morning we had blinking power (which releases the magnets holding the doors open in about all the offices, so those all closed until we re-opened them), then a severe thunderstorm warning (tornado was a few towns south of us, so we missed that, and I think there may've been a couple 50 miles north of us passing to the east). So everybody goes to the downstairs conference room where there aren't any windows, on the inside of the building, until we're sure the storm has passed by us. Finally cleared up sometime around 2 p.m. and got sunny and up into the mid-70's (F). Hope the storm missed everyone to the east (and especially the southeastern U.S.). From looking at the radar tracks on the TV tonight, it looked like this is one nasty storm system(!)
LAST comment for a long while on the office thing (heck, seems like I've said too much already): I've decided that at work, I don't need/want to share my feelings. Safer that way, too. Moving right along...
NittanyLion, you might want to try the white Squadron putty (I think that's the one I used - I'll check tonight and post or PM you tomorrow morning to be sure) for filling in. I do recall that I just figured on needing to sand the puttied area after it dried, though. So figure on that being part of the process. You can also put vegetation, vines, small trees in front of the worst spots - the ol' camouflage technique! Oh, if I made a diorama, I'd be trying to figure where to connect it up to the rest of my layout after I had it done...
Corey, no need to apologize for talking about those bridges - as others said, that will look great once you get it done (heck, it looks great now!). Following a prototype is much harder (in some ways) than freelancing/winging it (as I and a few others tend to do)
PC, not a problem on the party - heck, we haven't tested the chandeliers since the last move, so we need to make sure they're still nice and sturdy by having a party, right? Besides, we may need someone to (as I heard one prayer say it): "Bless this MESS" (TM - Sorry, Fergie...) So, that cosmogony thing is like "How'd I get here, Daddy?" (Very small theological joke there...)
Robby, on your partial boxcar, just put a little foundation under it, and make it the yard supplies 'office'! Kinda like one of the old MDC/Roundhouse 3-in-1 kits used to do. Hey, that was neat about the (BN)Santa Fe recruiting railfans for security. Hey, those cars are just like you like 'em - nice and rusty!
Galaxy, good to hear that your van w**k cost less than expected. My doctor told me on my (borderline) cholesterol, that exercise will help a bunch too, so if that's an option for you, it could help you both with dropping the weight he wants you to, plus helping your cholesterol (especially the 'good' kind - LDL? or is that the HDL?). Anyway, it helps.Jeff - NICE job on the SD24! Of course, I'm partial to Western RR's, too.. Hey, good thing you found your steering part for only $15 - can you imagine if you'd had to get it new?
Sawyer - and, how much education you finish can help with making the MRR/LHS money, often. (The more the merrier?) Get your edgercaytion now while you're young (and can remember it better than some of us who've been around the block once too many times...)
Rob, that sounds like a definitely good price on the barn boots. Now, can I get some new penny loafers from your shoe guy there? My current ones wear down too quickly and are hurting my feet. On your wife's "Sherman's Crossing", will it need to be weathered 'crispy-fried black and brown'?
I was able to lose a few pounds over the past week (maybe 4 or 5, I think), but need to get going on the exercise thing I mentioned to you, Galaxy. Repeat after me - "Veggies are my friends..."
BridgeTom - so, does that mean that you're a 'good' example, or a threatened punishment (like "Just wait until your Daddy gets home!")? Sorry to see how the weather out there on the 'Left Coast' has been this past week - have they ever considered putting spray spigots up near the top of the mountains, and pumping some of that water up there instead of down south?
Morgan - Amen on your comment about the real world vs. models.
Garry - what'd you decide to do on your backdrops, by the way? I second your offer to send California our excess water - I'm getting tired of one day of the sun, followed by 2 to 7 days of rain. Beginning to wash out some gardens around here, I'll bet.
Dick, good idea to start the grandson out early. Hmm, come to think of it, there's a local 'tourist' RR (St. Louis & Iron Mountain RR) in our adjoining city of Jackson, MO... Maybe I can see if I can talk SIL and daughter into all of us going there this summer at least once.
JR, just as well to stay out of the hoosegow for now. There'll be other railfanning opportunities...
I think I'll grab the seat with my back to the back wall. Easier to see the pies a'coming...
Caught up for now - and about time to finish my dessert and head for home. I'll check back in the morning and see how Janie and Flo are doing on the cleanup by that point in the morning.
Prayers for those in the way of this storm (and those out West, who could really use that water more).
