***Robby, a dog that barks at strangers is better than one that doesn't. BTW, I include Inlaws in the same catagory as strangers.EvilLaugh

***Jeffrey, we had a wonderful Minpin and yes, he barked a fair bit. Sure was a sweety around us though. Lost him to a snake bite when we were not home. PD (porch dog) took the second strike (I assume) and survived it, remaining with us to this day. Very old and arthritic little mix dog now.

OK, wife went to check on her folks today so i took the opportunity to nit the train room early. Got the wife's road beds base-gooped. Cut a hole for the DVD payer "Drive-in theater". Also got the cover for the player painted and coated with sand (first of 2 coats). I put some pics towards the bottom of this page: http://mods.homestead.com/TrainRoom2.html

Guess I'll work on the screen next.

Its more the cocker spaniel I get upset about.  She don't like to many people and barks, barks, barks, at whoever comes into the house.   Takes about a hour for her to shut up!!  The dog that is Clown.

Sounds like a problem we have with one of my cousins, except in her case the dog is a minpin. She tear into anybody she doesn't know or like no matter how much anyone tries holding her back. Then the dog rips into them too. One of those cases of forget the dog, beware of the dogs owner!

WELL!

I tried to get on this morning and couldn't!

Seems Time Warner Cable RoadRunner was out in the Northeast. The nerve of them!

So we went shopping. The other half needed some new clothes, and  as per usual, I am the one who came home with some new clothes, and at some very nice prices too! The Dr. says it is my meds making me gain/keep weight on. XL and 2XL are my friends now. I hopefully will lose a few pounds this summer.

We didn't, however go shopping for plants like we planned. Our favorite place opens tomorrow {Mon} so we try then.

Well I won't keep y'all

Well its a hot day in Pa.   Ok maybe 85.  Thats better than it has been.

Believe it or not, Iam working on the layout!!!  After getting rid of spiders, hobo's, vandals, etc......Maybe I was going to far with this, but the spiders is true.  Just one of them.  I am putting down some ballast.  I am working on a warehouse area now.  Its coming along.

CODE RED!!!  The mother-in-law is coming tonight!!!  By air!!!!  Well a family cousion passed away and her/brother-in-law are coming.  I get along with them.  Its the father-in-law we don't see eye to eye.  So a few days with them.  Its more the cocker spaniel I get upset about.  She don't like to many people and barks, barks, barks, at whoever comes into the house.   Takes about a hour for her to shut up!!  The dog that is Clown.

I am also weathering up a BNSF covered 2-bay hopper.  I found a few pictures I liked with some load spillage, so I guess I will try that.

Um....................I saw a job I will call about tomorrow.  Its a car detailer here at the FORD dealership.  It has full benefits, and 5 day work week.  I have some exp. in detailing.  I HOPE I GET IT!!!!!

Well back to the basement.  Since its Sunday, the wife has the soaps on.  Grumpy

Afternoon everyone!

I was an usher at church this morning and didn't manage to get online before I left for church.  Zoe I'll have a piece of Strawberry-Rhubarb pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on it for mid afternoon snack.

I just spent an hour trying to get on line.  When I got home from church I had no internet and no phone.  Figured cable must be out so I had some lunch and tried again.  Still no phone or internet.  So I unpluged the cable modem and reset it.  Kicks back on, I have phone but no internet.  Reboot the computer and try again, same thing.  Unplug and reset the router.  No change.  I finally reset the modem again, and I now have a connection.  I don't know if the trouble was the cable or my end, or a bit of both, but it is up and running again..........

Barry, all the storms managed to stay to the North of me.  Didn't even get any rain out of it.  Hope your clean up goes well and isn't too involved.

Another nice sunny and warm day here in the Finger Lakes.  Currently 68°F.  Perfect weather as far as I am concerned.

Since I am waiting for a whole bunch of odds and ends to come in at the LHS, I will just have to find a couple of other projects to do in the train room.  Shouldn't be too hard.  Last night I put a decoder in a USRA 2-6-6-2 I have had sitting in wait of becoming an "in-service" loco. I may figure out what address I want it to have and do some programing on it.  I also got out a Bachmann 2-8-0 I bought last fall.  I will remove the crap decoder that came in it and put in one that all the CV's can be programed and doesn't need a 1000 Ω resister placed across the programing rails to get it to work.  Then I will have to decide what address I want for that and get it in service.  I have a couple of other little scratch build projects To do as well so I shouldn't be sitting and staring..........Confused

The point-picking F40PH turns out (groan! Clown) to have two problems building on each other, Pizza Cutter wheel flanges, now ground down to a better profile, and truck swing being interrupted by cruddy wiring in the truck install. Wires from a dead mouse now run from the truck pick-ups to some distance behind each truck, and the swing is better. There is still a slight tendency to dislike some turnouts, but the situation is hugely improved.  Now, of course, the weather is such that outdoor chores are cutting into mrr time. Grumpy

Well, now I'm caught up again (to page 67), I'd better get off to bed. Goodnight all, and God Bless.  Prayers for all in need of healing, comfort and peace.Angel

Went out for dinner with my sister tonight (regular Saturday night thing). We didn't feel like getting anything fancy or spicy this time so we settled on Pizza Hut. We shared some Cheesy bread and pizza rolls and I had half a large thin crust meat lovers pizza. I brought the other half home. It'll be a snack tomorrow.

***Jeffrey, that's a nice, very very simple looking fence there.Smile,Wink, & Grin

It does look simple doesn't it? Bachmann makes one that's almost identical that just clips together. This ain't it. Each section is separate and while they fit into each other they don't clip together. They have to be glued together. The problem is that each two sections that are being glued together have to be standing for it to look right and they fall over at the drop of a hat. ANY HAT! I eventually had to stick satin pins down on either side of the sections so they would remain standing while they were being glued into place. The fence on the other side of the Shell station is the Bachmann one. It was a breeze!

It's nice that you have somebody to do that for you. My kit builder up and moved to Orlando on me and my hands are too shaky now to handle any complex kits. Many structures I can still handle unless they have tiny fiddley parts. I try to get the easier ones these days and get the more complex ones as built-ups.

Jeff that is the kit I picked it up at the train show last fall; Walther’s work train #2.  Yes those springs, well at least they give you several spares!  I got lucky, a friend of mine loves to build models and he took this one and built it over the last 6 weeks for something to do.

Hey Barry, no fair, your sending those my way..........!  Looks like that line (the first one) is over lake Ontario just north of Rochester, NY right now.  What you are getting now should catch Geneva around 11 PM tonight.  Most should be going North of me.  Does look like a dandy though.  Some rain I wouldn't mind as It has been dry here.  We are more than an inch behind for the month and not much of anything predicted for the resat of this month.

I had left over chicken that I baked yesterday for dinner tonight with a nice side of fresh asparagus cut this evening from my garden.  Man was that good!  Got the rest of the lawn mowed this evening.

What I didn't get to do much was any model railroading other than a trip down to the LHS for some decals that he didn't have in stock.  They are items he usually does have in stock so he is ordering twice.  Once for me, and once for the store stock........

Mr. Robby P sir, you're a good man... GO STEELERS!

Hey, I'm from Eastern Iowa...we're more than a little partial to black and gold around here...

SAWYER: maybe you can teach some of the guys on my previous fire department how to run a chainsaw...Whistling Seriously though Pal, kudos to you on your volunteer work today.

According to UPRR Disp. 12, a "Vancouver Special" is on the move, rolling East. Everything it passes has to come to a complete stop until it's cleared by them.

Well, crap. It just rolled through. A solid, long train of "high and wide" somethings... not sure from this distance if it's wind turbine tower parts, some kind of pressure vessels, or what. Maybe I'll find something on it in the Ames Railfans Yahoo group...

Burger and fries time...Dinner

I had a work train similar to that back in the 80's that I got from Walther's. It came in kit form and had sprung trucks that had to be put together. Those little springs were a nightmare and kept flying off into the seventh reach of the unknown. The heck with that! I fitted the cars with regular plastic trucks. That was good enough for me.
