Hi guys
REAL coffee with no OOPs in it please! I think I opened a bit of a can of worms yesterday.
jeffrey-wimberly Overdid it earlier mowing the parents yard and cleaning up their front patio. I laid down for a little rest and woke up at 11:30 pm! Guess I was worse off than I thought.

Jeffrey do take care of yourself and rest today. We kinda want you around for awhile! ANd you will be of no help to your parents if you are laid up!
Robby P.Hope your first days on the job are swell and don't tire you out too much!
Well have a great day guys!

JimRCGMOWas it Robby, Todd, or Sawyer that got the blister? I recall Sawyer saying he got one from his spring break yard job, but I wasn't sure about the others.

I got one on the inside of my left thumb from my spring break job. however, it's really small, and it'll probably pop today if I rake (mainly going to clean up the piles I mad raking yesterday).
And what the kicker is is that I'm wearing work gloves.

Hi Folks: With all the concern about Bill, i did a White Pages search, and found his phone #. He's just fine, glad to say, just hasn't been in is all. Different morning schedule, that sort of t hing. Anyway, that's a relief. BTW, I think I know why Bergie moved us on the last time. It was that order of coffee Bill had placed for delivery. Something to do with trackwidth!

grayfox1119Bill is still chasing squirrels away from his house and working on his bike.......
Did you get to talk to him? I haven't been able to, and I've been concerned about him.
EDIT: I see that der got ahold of him and all is good! Good news!
Packers#1And what the kicker is is that I'm wearing work gloves.

grayfox1119 DUKE: I found out why you guys have been having such bad weather and most of the Mid-West. Sun spot activity is at an all time low. The sun is cooler (for our planet ) during solar minimums because we are not receiving the waves of radiation that we normally would receive from active sun storms. We may be headed for a mini Ice Age! ( Gee, does that mean we will have more time for MRR'g?

I read a statement made by a NASA scientist that stated just that.
Today, we are going to cut fascia for the layout. We will start in the corner by the streambed. Our car card system from Micro-mark came yesterday so we are anxious to get going.
Later,
Sue
Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Howdy All...Its sunny and 55 here...looks like I'm too late for breakfast I'll have a double pork burger with melted Swiss, onion rings and onion rings please...Thank You...I'm still not able to get out of apartment they have about half of drive way out now! They laid plywood over fresh cement yesterday so Sallie could get in..guess there is nothing I need out for anyway!...
John D...Thanks for checking on Bill T.Glad to hear he is OK Now how about Bergie?
Sue..Let us know how card system works out....
Jeff..Hope you are geting rested up today...
Being housebound gives me not much else to do but work on layout..Got alittle more done on yards...
You all have a good one...Jerry
jeffrey-wimberlyPackers#1And what the kicker is is that I'm wearing work gloves. Doesn't matter if you're wearing gloves or not. Blisters come about because of burns, burns from friction. In this case the friction is from the glove rubbing against your skin. It doesn't take much heat to cause one. You can cause blisters on your hands by just rubbing them together real fast.
ah.
well, girlfriend broke up with me, but I got my new loco in the mail, so both a good and bad day.
So much for the whole "global warming" theory!
PC - That politician had to have an envioronmental platform years back.... kind of backfired huh? Now his do-gooders are being held by the North Koreans as spys. But wait, I'm sorry, I shouldn't discuss politics here.
Jeff - aww man! What are you doing?! Hope you rest up quick, can't wait to see some more of your work.
Sawyer - I wear my mechanics gloves when working outside. They fit snug and are pretty strong....of course there's always my extrication gloves...... Oh... sorry to hear about your girl. Sometimes things just aren't meant to be.. Form the sounds of things you'll have plenty to choose from when the time comes.
Jerry - I might have a N SCALE GP something, (9 or 18?) high nose The shell is missing the dynamic section (if it had dynamic) I'm pretty sure it runs, might you be interested? It has a homemade paint job that someone gave me. Might be a lifelike, not sure it's up home.

well, she said she needs time to be single and think through some stuff, and that she might want to get back together. All I know is, I'm not going to get my hopes up b/c she said she might want to, but she might not.
As to the gloves, they're worn out working gloves, lol. I don't really have anything else I can use though.
Taking a break on the work detail ... and maybe waiting for a chance to make a break for it?

Hi Zoe, I'll have a BLT and a RBF, please 'n' thanks.

NASA says we'll have more MRR'ing time! YAY!!! (Now, please notify your bosses, spouses, etc. that NASA said so, okay? , sorry, got a little carried away there for a minute.
Guess I'd better go hide in the booth and lay low for a while...
Blessings,

Afternoon, Zoe, could I have a barley pop and a bag of cheesy popcorn
Three old ladies sit in a diner, discussing their health.
One lady says, "You know, I'm getting really forgetful. This morning, I was standing at the top of the stairs, and I couldn't remember whether I had just come up or was about to go down."
The second lady says, "You think that's bad? The other day, I was sitting on the edge of my bed, and I couldn't remember whether I was going to sleep or had just woken up!"
The third lady smiles smugly. "Well, my memory is just as good as it's always been, knock on wood," she says as she raps on the table. Then with a startled look on her face, she asks, "Who's there?"
I'll be out on the porch watching trains

Sawyer, that sucks. You're still in school so you have lots of chances. As for doing any sort of work, I never use gloves since I kind of loose the "fell" of what I'm doing (kind of hard to describe). BTW, what's the new loco?
Phillip, I like to call it Spring since this (weird weather) happens about the same time every year. The PC term is now "climate change," not "global warming" or "global cooling" (I ain't old enough to remeber the latter, but I did my research). Kind of hope we get snow so that some of these terrorists tourists go away, and so I can see if my Rotary plow will actually blow snow (if it don't will athearn give me a refund?).
Duke, I know what you mean. The faster summer gets here, the faster fall gets here (hoping the Packers do good this year)
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Sawyer: Sometime when you're old enough to hang out in the beer hall, I'll have a brew with you and tell you all about: Crazy Annie, Evil Susan, D-Girl, Tater Sack, and the dressing on the crap sandwich: WACKY.
Please know, I'm NOT trying to make light of your painful situation, just making the point that she may have been the first, but she more than likely won't be the last. For whatever it's worth...probably not much, I first met my wife in the early 90s in college. She turned me down almost daily for dates. Ten years later, we're working at another college, and she finally says "yes." I joke it took her a decade to come to her senses, but the reality is, sometimes timing is everything.
Everything happens for a reason, even if you never find out WHAT the reason is.
Hope the blister is doing OK, don't open it yourself, but if it does...keep it clean, and neosporin or generic bacitracin is your friend. Finding a "good" pair of work gloves is a challenge sometimes. I forget who suggested the mechanics gloves, but that's a pretty good idea. I've got a pair of Carhartt gloves I got out of Theisen's...work good for me. I really should get some extrication gloves though, for the rare chance I might get to play with the "JAWS," AKA: hydraulic rescue tools *insert Tim Allen grunt here.*
Early supper time: Chloe, Floe, whomever... a large cheeseburger, big pile of fries, and bucket of Coke... I've been stumped all week on how to write up a business feature piece for THAT editor...the inspiration is finally close to coming to fruition, and I'm gonna need some sustinence to get through it.

LSWrrSawyer, It’s hard for you to believe this now, but you will in due time: There is someone out there for you better than her. I’m sorry you had to go through a break-up, but it’s all part of the big picture to find that someone special. Keep you chin up and carry on. Lee
thanks Lee. Well, if there's someone better, then the future is gonna be insane!
Let me put it this way: God has His reasons, and I know this from past experience. Whatever His reason for this is, I can only put my faith in Him that He will see me through.
Vincent, thanks man. As to the new loco, it's an old Atlas rsd-4/5 in CNJ colors. only has 4 axles powerd, and is noisy as heck.
WEll, my danged U23B decided to seize up, I think it's something to do with the gears, as I was drybrushing the trucks earlier in the week. I'll take it apart later today or tomorrow.
As to the Packers next year, we gotta beef up our D, and we'll be ok. The Bears are gonna be in the mix b/c they now have a QB, and Minnesota should also have a strong year. The Lions, well, they've got a long road ahead. The NFC North will be one heck of a ride this year!
Chris, I know she ain't gonna be the last (hopefully)
oh, and yeah, it's liekt his: she said she loves m, but there's a guy that l;ikes her and she likes him back. My attitude: if she picks me, I'll be so freakign happy. if she picks him, I'm conetent being her friend.
Packers#1she said she loves m, but
Again, NOT trying to be a jerk... but beware ANY conversation with a woman that includes "I love you, BUT..."
Like others said, hang in there, chin up, better days ARE ahead.

Since its an ALCO...doesn't the noise make it more prototypical??
Uh-oh, time to duck/hide...I think I see a pie or two flying my way....

Yeah, lol. oh well, whatever she decides, I'll be ok.
Well, if it was a bit lower in tone, then yes, it would be prototypical, lol.

Must be something with ALCOs and GEs, they've always just sounded noisy to me. The first time I saw CNW C40-8s (brand new), it sounded to me like nuts and bolts were going to come shooting out the exhaust stack, compared to the SMOOOOOOOOOTH sound of the EMD SD40-2s, SD-50s, and SD-60s.

geesh man.
Chris; So my lone Kato C424/425 that was noisy compared to the other 2, was covered in soot, and smelled like smoke (previous owner had a house fire) would have been protoypical. Darn...

Jeff: Amen Brother on the EMD turbos...sweet sound to be sure! One of the great things about hanging out at Beverly Yard (Cedar Rapids) was watching and LISTENING to the freights working the yard with their set-outs and pick-ups.
Then along came the GE's sounding like washing machines out of balance...
Sawyer: "Geesh" Geesh?
Vincent: Too funny...
I think I've finally got the business feature article figured out...time to go to w**k, back later.
Afternoon fellow model railroad people!
That danged yellow/red round thing has been out all day. This keeps up I will have to use the new "toy" I got out on the porch by next week.
Sawyer, a word of advise, always ignore any part of a sentence that precedes the word "but". It's a rule of English, kind of like i before e except after........
I have been working on finishing a scene on the layout for the photo op. Scene is now complete and photo op done! Here is a "before" I shot a few months back. The scene was about half done.
Here is a shot that is an "also ran" for the photo contest, but gives you an idea of the final scene.
Zoe I'll have that Chicken BBQ Special. That sure did smell good as I came by the station on my way here!
Ray Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western R.R. (S.L.O.&W.) in HO
We'll get there sooner or later!
Ray, that's just some awesome work. The varied plants, the trackwork, especially the rotten layered rock face at the rear just makes it a dead ringer for upstate. I like the also ran with the weathered box car better than the too new ATSF in the first shot. Way to go! J.R.
