I can pretend on my MRR pike all I want all day long.....
But There is just POSITIVELY NO WAY I can pretend THAT!
Real stuff only for me please!

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.
Another coffee, please & thanks.
***Jerry, looks like a bit of construction there indeed. Is it going to be replaced with a wood deck or concrete ramp or??? Gotta say, we REALLY like having a ramps to bypass the staris, especially at night. Hope they make short work of that for you.
Funny/sad train story. While wife, myself, and FIL were watching Trains & Locomotive on TV, at one point FIL said, "At the next stop, I want to get off the train". You gotta admit, that is kinda funny when you consider he really thought he was riding on the train. Also sad how messed up strokes can leave a person. Today he is doing better, standing a few times unaided. Have no idea at this point if he will be here indefinitely or wind up in a nursing home. I leave that call up to my wife. Only thing I will not deal with again is the MIL...no way!
Sun is out, temp is in the 60's and it is a beautiful day. Now if this dizziness would pass all would be right in the world...or at least not too bad.
Oh, our train-stuff order is in transit but not scheduled to arrive until Monday. Almost feel like a kid at Christmas.
Been busy in the Diner today. Rob
Ahh a new day, and a new job.
The new job is mainly changing truck tires. Its easy, but I have to get use to it. Right now its 8am-4pm. Thats not to bad. Hey, its a job.
Well I will try to get back in here later, and try to catch up.

You'll probably want to cool it with the whole "Ooops" thing. That tends to make folks kind of hostile around these parts!
If you are tired of "OOPS", by all means move on...

Well I did, but then the delivery people showed up and I have been hard at work reading, assembling, and trying out all the new toys. I also spent an hour down in the Basement working on some scenery that has to get done before the big photo session! Still have a couple more hours to get the area ready. Probably will do some photographing tomorrow after the glue is dry..........
Chloe, I'll the New York Strip steak with a baked potato, and the green beans. Blue cheese dressing on the salad, and more of that "High Steppin'" decafe!

Well Garry, from what I hear, Fergie is off fighting the Somali pirates, Bill is still chasing squirrels away from his house and working on his bike, Ed is busy with his Orange grove and giving the Red Sox management tips on running the team and scouting for them, and Luc has been very busy working and has no time for the PC at all.
I got my chain saw back from repair and it worked like a champ for 2 hours today then quit. The pull starter was locked up, so I fixed that, then it still would not start, it sounded like tin cans rattling in the carburator. I checked that all out and everything look Ok, so back to the repair shop tomorrow.

I've had my fair share of oopses!
Hi there.
I'm here Dick.
Went to a local train show this past weekend. Very poor showing indeed and few exhibits. I did get a CPR 2-8-2 for 25.00. It is used but in good working condition, manufacture by Rivarossi. Good deal there. A bit big for my layout but I think I see good use for it.
Happy Easter all.
Thanks for the compliments guys. This section of the layout will be the closest to prototype that I can get with novice skills. It's the only section of the layout that doesn't require finding the right building kit to suit my version of Mankato. It's probably the cheapest part in terms of scenery dollars per square foot as well. Big impact, small expense! Parts of the trestle have been changed since the old photo, but it is largely intact. The old trestle is now part of the Red Jacket bike trail.
I didn't get any pictures of the Dentist's G scale empire. I was going out to the trestle afterwards to take a few more research photos. The problem was that the power of my batteries was in question and the backups were dead as well. I may have to go back and takes some photos after he makes more progress.
Now I have to decide how to spend my up coming Birthday money. EBay here I come!
Have a good night folks
Please send me the info on Toledo and I am not sure what will happen and it is only 1 ½ hr run for me.
Dick

Evenin', Choe - I'll have that chocolate caramel brownie with the pecans in the topping, please. Oh yes, and a cup of coffee ('de-booted'), in a Rio Grande mug - and thanks, Barry!
Heartland Division CB&QShould we compile a list of absent diners and then try to contact them to make sure things are OK? ... Bill T ?... Ed M ? .....Fergie? ....Luc?..... Who else?
Well, last I recall, Luc was busy tending to Gloria (his CFO) and that was keeping him kinda busy (never mind, I see he stopped by to speak up for himself - Hi, Luc!). I got an email from Ed M. not long ago, saying that in the next few days, he's going to be NOTB in Texas, visiting his daughter and other relatives there. I don't recall if he had posted here when he was up in the States on his last trip, or if that had to wait until he got back home to the grove. And I see Dick has covered some of the other MIA Diners. Thanks, Dick!
Ice age, huh, Dick? Now, so long as it doesn't result in jacked up fuel prices...
Jeff and Barry - the phone booths I have (yet to be built) start with a block of clear plastic, with 'Bell' signs and stuff to be glued on the outside of them. I'll look who made them when I get back home, and post later. They look like they should be simpler to assemble (but I could be wrong, natch...)
Duke, I see you're awake. Oh wait, there he goes again.... Never mind, Duke...
W**k today wasn't too bad, except that only one of my five scheduled clients actually showed up. (One of those days I'm glad that I'm salaried) And of course, the one who did show up was my 3 p.m., rather than the 8:00 a.m.. But in the morning, I was able to get three intakes (which take waaaayyyyy too much time to get typed up and ready) finished up and then get doctor's appointments for those clients. Called them up to let them know the date and time for each one's. (Now, they'd better show up...!)
It was nice and comfy warm out at lunchtime (1 p.m. for me - I avoid the logjam at restaurants over noonhour). Still nice out - it's 59 F (15 C), but supposed to cool off (that ice age thing that Dick mentioned?) to 37 F (3 C) tonight. Tomorrow? Scattered showers, followed by rain on Friday. (Oh, goody! Pffffffffttttt! as Bill the Cat would say - not to be confused with Bill T.)
I'll just be enjoying my dessert for now. Yum!
Blessings and prayers,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Evening Gang: I got OOOPsed out of the place last night. In fact everywhere I went on the MR site it was the same thing. I thought things were getting better but I guess not.
Not much going on here. The train show was pretty good considering the weather went to poop Sunday. Saturday we had light wind and about 80f Sunday It was blowing a hurrican and only about 60 tops. All told we had about 1200 attendance. That is really good compared to last year but would have been much better if Sundays weather had been better. Unfortunately the vendors didn't do to well. I jsut hope that that dosen't stop them from coming back in the fall.
My sream locomotive was a hit as always. I don't know how many trips I made back and forth on my 110 ft of track. The trip back is up grade so the stack talk was good. I'm going to have to see about getting insurance so I can fire up and run on steam. Of course now we have all these burn bans because too many people don't have enough sence to control there fires. If it isn't one thing it's another.
I'm going to head out for bed.
Good Night All
Hello everyone.
Luc, it was great to see you in the diner. Feel free to stop by when you can. (Maybe with TH donuts and coffee!!!)
Jim CG .... I'm glad you got an email from Ed. Tell him "hello" and tell him we miss his posts.
Still concerned about Bill T and Fergie.
Nice of Duke to wake up for us.
Happy Model railroading!
Just some lemon water, please.
***Luc, congrats on the Mikado.
***Robby, did I read something about a blister? Hope you have some tape or something to wrap it with short term. Those things are annoying. If you can get some Dit Da Jow, might try that on your hands before starting work each day.
***Duke, thanks for that. We only have the FIL and it will be for as long as is required. MIL is someone elses problem now. BTW, I helped care for my mother her last year of life and it was the most heart wrenching thing I've ever experienced. *** cancer took her over 15 years ago, much too young. So I can understand what my wife is going through now with her dad. It's tough, even for an experienced nurse like she is.
***Paul, that really must be fun for you to run that steamer, compressed air or not. Any new pics to share?
The stitches in FIL's lip are healed up enough tomorrow we are celebrating with pizza. His progress is good these past couple of days.
Good night all.
Rob
Overdid it earlier mowing the parents yard and cleaning up their front patio. I laid down for a little rest and woke up at 11:30 pm! Guess I was worse off than I thought.

Good Morning--Current temperature is at -2C heading for a high of 9C--in the sunshine. Looks to be sunny for the rest of the easter weekend with temperatures between 9-11C for highs and our lows going to -6C(!!) a couple of days.
Jeff-painkiller time---and a lot of resting of dem ol' bones is req'd. I'm told this a lot if'n I do things that this 'bod' says is improbable------
Chloe--I'll have the full breakfast plate and an extremely STRONG caffeine please----I'll go to the back and watch Thursday wake up--
Good Morning All,
Got downright chilly last night - frost on the windshield and all.
Todd - congrats on the job. If the blisters persist or just become a bother, try some bag balm on it. Yeah, the stuff you use on cow udders. Thought the CFO ws nuts (farm girl and all that she is) but it works. Do you get to do the split rim stuff too? Hated those even after they got me a cage for inflation.
Jerry - why did they steal your driveway? Hopefully you aren't trapped for too long.
Got a call from the not too LHS that the resin EP-5 and FL-9 are done (had them painted as the NH scheme is beyond my skill level just now and on top of that I had no place to paint). Just need to collect them next time through.
Gotta run - Dr appt this morning to see how my foot is doing so wish me luck. CUL, J.R.
Good morning. It's 59 and partly cloudy. Today's high will be in the upper 70's and it will be partly cloudy with a small chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. I don't expect to get much done on the layout today as I am in pain from my neck to my knees. I really overdid it yesterday. I should have left the sweeping of the porch for today. Instead I did that AND the mowing yesterday plus some other smaller tasks and now I'm paying for it. I'm so stiff this morning you could drop a quarter on me and it would probably bounce to the ceiling! It's definitely going to be a stay at home day, no real problem there as I'm at home every day anyway. I have some pain killers I can use but I really don't like the way some of them react with the meds I have to take every day. It can get pretty interesting. Finally got the lighting problem for Ezra's home taken care of. If you recall it's on top of his gas station garage. Sure makes life difficult for a 2nd story man. Anyhow I didn't want to run a separate set of wires under the layout. Instead I considered the possibilities that already existed. There was really only one that would work. The garage is lit by four 4 volt bulbs that are in a cluster. I merely separated one bulb from the cluster and ran it up through a hole I had drilled in the garage roof. Viola! Quick and easy lighting for Ezra's home. Today's Weather for: Sundown, LA 71446-6114 4/9/2009 Wind Chill: 58°F Humidity: 96% Dew Point: 58°F So Far Today High: 61°F Low: 59°F Rain: 0.00" Rain Rate: 0.00"/h Gust: 9mph NNE Lake wind advisory in effect from 9 AM this morning to 6 pm cdt this evening. Today High: 78 Partly cloudy in the morning...then mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 20 mph. Tonight Low: 65 Partly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Lows in the mid 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Fairly easy to see from the condition of the guard rails why 6319 is in the shop.
Good morning.
We are continuing our climb into the fifties this week, Hooray!! Now, if the grass could speed up the growing process, I'd be a happy camper. Having everything brown right now is getting really depressing. When the green does come, then what am I gong to complain about?:)
I did carve some foam last night. I'm starting to agree with my wife, let's see some progress! Until recently, I've really only modeled on my days off. Now I'm going back to working a little each day. I'm sick of looking at blue foam!:)
I have a long day at work so not much else gets done on Thursdays. I guess I'm out earning train money! Yep, and whatever is leftover is used for rent, electricity, food, etc...
I hope you all have a nice day.
Mornin' everyone!
There a bright yellow orb up in the sky this morning here in the Finger Lakes. I'm not sure what it is but it is blinding just trying to look out the window. I'm afraid that it will dry up all the puddles around and make some green stuff on the ground get taller....... Currently a pleasant 45°F with a high around 51 today in the Finger Lakes with several more day of the same to follow.
J. R. Bag Balm is great! We used that on our dairy farm when I was a kid. I think you can now buy it for chapped hands on humans........ Todd look for it in drug stores.
Corey it sure is a good feeling to progress happening isn't it. Don't forget the photo updates.
I took some photos last night with the new camera. Works great! Only problem is since I am going to enter the photos in the Regional contest next week, little things that I wouldn't worry about normally are now driving me crazy. I have to get the photos done today and down to the photographers to be matted by the end of the day or they won't be done to take with me.
I see my coffee has arrived so I take up a seat in the front window and watch some train moves for a while.
Good Morning, Zoe - a chocolate donut and a cup of coffee for me, please. Thank you.
Ray, be careful of that yellow circle thing, I understand that the green stuff gets to really growing when it's up very often.
Jeff, sounds like you need to take a good rest in your home today. I'm sure Ezra appreciates not having to get up and get dressed in the dark since you got his electric wired in.
Rob, good to hear your FIL's healing up. Prayers for rest and continued healing will continue.
Was it Robby, Todd, or Sawyer that got the blister? I recall Sawyer saying he got one from his spring break yard job, but I wasn't sure about the others.
Paul, sounds like you had some fun at the show, and I hope your vendors return for the fall one. How's Mary Ann doing?
Well, I'll join Barry in the front window booth, watching the morning switcher doing its thing.
Blessings,
Large coffee TO GO, please & thanks.
***Jeffrey, you know better. Now you have to take it easy. (hope you're feeling better quickly)
***Corey, you're still ahead of me. You are actually into the carving phase.
Well, can't stay....wife left me here with FIL and you can't leave him alone for long. She's out picking up his meds and some groceries.
