Good Morning. Its sunny and 40 here We got a big frost last nite..I'll have toast and coffee please..Thank You..I am planning on working to get power to new fiddle yards today...and I plan to spend some time in recliner reading new Model Railroader...RMC hasn't come in yet maybe today..
Ray..I laughed till tears came to my eyes!! What a show that must have been!..Also good score on Styrofoam..paint on one side shouldn't hurt anything..
Jeff..Got my second big laugh with the report of your cook-out..I can just picture that cat landing on the pit bulls back!Did pit bull ever return from hills?
You all have a good one...Jerry
Looks like the top of the page..Flo hand me my apron..Order up and enjoy...
Large coffee TO GO, please & thanks.
***Barry, there could well be a Berkshire somewhere being used as a birdhouse. It would still be a beautiful thing.
***Jeffrey, I'm with Robby....Dinner & a Show....excellent.
Gotta run. Have a good day y'all. Rob
Time for an early lunch, so a double bacon cheeseburger, fries, large Coke, thankyamuch.
I agree with Jerry, Ray and Jeff had me laughing almost uncontrolably... I'm a very visual person, so I had the wide-screen Technicolor movie playing both scenes... to quote Jeff from yesterday: "that's hillarious!"
Jeff: glad you survived the inferno, hope the dog came back. I like Ezra's stairway, by the way...very creative and really looks like it belongs there. Ezra must be quite a charecter. I have to admit, I haven't followed the Life and Times of Ezra, so please 'scuse my ignorance.
'Eh, I'm guessing for the next BBQ you're going to have an Engine on standby???
Food's here, so I'll grab a booth in the back to wolf this down. I'm doing follow-up with the school for clarification on board meeting stuff, and trying to line up the week's work. So far, I know for sure I've got an Easter egg hunt Friday morning...between now and then, a whole lot of "maybe's" and "could be's."
Stay SAFE...
Chris
Oh, and I forget who was working on the LARGE buildings/coffee plant. NICE STUFF! If I ever get a workable plan, I'll be doing something similar for my Quaker Oats plant. I've toyed with the idea of building Quaker, then working out the rest of the layout from there.

Todd, I skip around the layout often, depends on what supplies I have on hand or I get tired of doing one thing and move to something different for a while.Speaking of Model Railroader; I’m planning on buying a jar of that plastic model paint stripper and a bottle of bullfrog Snot this week.Lee

Jeff,
That story is just too funny!
Also, I see by the picture that the cops no longer try to run Ezra down for speeding.....they just bring the tickets directly to his house!
Let's see if this will wake up Duke...... Did you hear about the Berkshire that would not sit down? It had a tender behind.

Hi Zoe - I'll have a BLT, some cheesey fries and a RBF, please 'n' thanks!
ewl01Jim, What kind of paint did you use on you warehouse? Was it in a spray can?
Jim, What kind of paint did you use on you warehouse? Was it in a spray can?
Eric, it was a can of spray paint (Krylon Outdoor, I think) that I got at Hobby Lobby (with one of their website's discount coupons I'd printed out). But I'm sure that there would be other colors equally usable, at any place that carries Krylon or other spray paints (Wally World, etc.). I just eyeballed the color on the cap (and that was really close to how it is when dry).
Barry, I figure on a lot of this stuff, if it's been sitting there (except for MRR books and mags) without being used for a year or more, unless it's a tax receipt, I won't too likely need it... (My photos go into their own boxes, separate from just plain ol' paper stacks)
DerJohn, good to see you made it back through the snowdrifts! Does that train on your birdhouse actualy move? If it does, the birds might get skitterish about landing in the birdhouse.
Rob, the (MRR) projects aren't the big clutter thing (in my mind, at least...), but various paper, printouts of webpages (and the websites may even be closed up by now), etc. Now the MRR'ing stuff, I'll find spaces for that! On carving that volcano - keep your shop vac handy...
Todd, you'd better run! (What are Berkshires, indeed! Heresy!!) (oh, wait - I model the transition era, in the Southwestern US...)
Ray, that play sounds like it was a lot of fun (for the performers as well as for the audience). I've heard similar things being pulled in plays on the last night of performance.
Jeff, I feel sorry for that poor chef (and you, and the dog, and...) (Really, I do, I just can't help picturing all that chaos going on at once)
Garry - as the saying goes, you're cruisin' for a bruisin'... Since you finished up that track, what'll the passenger car be like - particular model or version (not that I would be smart enough to know it)?
PC, that's a funny bell sound...? (Now the steam sound, I get that!)
Yesterday I was gonna put together a bookcase (for places to put some MRR books and such), but couldn't find the directions (might've been tossed a while back with the box). I started trying to figure out what likely went where, but had too much trouble getting the threaded thingees to start threading with my cordless drill, so I quit for the night. I'll see about it again this week (maybe tomorrow after w**k).
Ah, my lunch is here, so I'll get to it.
Blessings and prayers,
Jim in Cape Girardeau

Does anyone know how to post pictures without a account at a photo sharing site? I have some weathered cars to show to get advice on and from what I've seen I have to get one. If no, does anyone know a site that only require a user name and password? I am ok with them, but anything else I won't do. Thanks!
Afternoon all

So now we have-- LOL!!

Now Garry and Rob, why would anyone say anything bad about Berkshire Locos? They are wonderful (just a few years too modern to used on my SLOW.....). Hope that's OK with Duke!

Hmmm. Hey, speaking of steam.... Where in the world is Fergie? Anybody hear from him? Perhaps, it is time to break the ice with Fergie. .... I think I can; I think I can ....Anybody have any good 2-10-2 jokes?
Also, speaking of steam, Tom W. is a steam fan. I've not seen Tom W in the diner lately. Say something nice about Yellowstones. See if that perks him up.
Jeff, I really like the BBQ grill story.
Jim CG ... The car I am making is a Burlington heavyweight branch line baggage/RPO car. The prototype was built in 1910, and it was only 40' long.
Have fun everybody.
Hi Gang: Just a quick hello and I have to get out and feed the cattle. I'll put a bale of the good hay in the corral and if the cows have eaten the stuff from John's place I'll put out a couple of bales for them.
Take care all.
Ok, I'm not much of a steam head, but let's really clear up the best stema loco ever built:

Hello gang...It's been awhile since I've been here. I see the diner rolled a little farther down the line.
Haven't been much happening with me in the trains/railroads area. But, quite a bit in the personal matters. I've had a few friends and family pass away. My mom has had half here other (right) foot removed. She's spent 2 weeks in the hospital and a month in a rehab facility. She should be getting out tomorrow.
Also, my best buddy died Jan. 23, 2009, yes, my doggie, Oreo, has gone on home. RIP!!! Oreo.
So, how have everyone been? I'll try to peek in more often.
Til later,
Good evening! Raw, heavy overcast and some showers most of the day, however the sky is clearing and we will have sunshine for the next two days before more storms arrive.
Worked on the mountain scenery today, I am using the newspaper pillows and plaster cloth method with some foam thrown in for added effect.
Ok guys, lets get one thing straight right now, the Berkshire 2-8-4 ushered in the era of super power steam locomotives, and NOTHING ( steam ) beats the Berkshire for all around beauty. Paint your locomotive green or pink like Fergie, and doesn't matter, the Berkshire is KING OF THE HILL. Ok Duke, can I go eat supper now ?
Hiya LilRob, don't believe we've met, I'm one of the newer guys hanging out here. Sounds like you've had more than your share of loss and difficulty...much like several others around here. Know that our best wishes and condolences are with ya.
I'm particularly hit by the loss of your pal Oreo. I guess the thought of losing my little fuzzy buddy, Rerun just gets to me.
Welcome back, and again, nothing but the very best wishes to you (and all others suffering) in your losses.
like the pix-OK. Now I know what the berks looked like--neat!!

Hi guys!
Lets hear it for a Pennsy K-4!
Or a Pennsy heavy mountain with long distance tender- Number 6755 is static at the PA RR Museum in Strasburg, PA!
Oh My!

Wow.......Did you see that? Barry ordered a 32 oz. steak. Amazing. Barry: would you like Jeff to grill it for you. He could used this really neat BBQ grill ........and ....he could lace it with some "DaBomb" sauce for you too.
Duke ...It really is good seeing you and the Berk photos.
Dick ... You may eat, but I hope you were not think about a steak after Barry chows down.
The Southern 4-6-2 is nice looking; no doubt. Southern, however, never had any "super power" locos. You could never find a 4 wheel trailing truck on a Southern steam loco. I'm not sure why. They could have used plenty of power on the run from Cincinnati to Atlanta.
Seriously, has anyone heard from Fergie?
Afternoon all!
Just finished checking up on our 12 day old foster kittens and their mom. They're really cute, their eyes aren't even open yet.
Haven't been able to play the ax since saturday, because it's at my dads. Tommorow or wednesday I will be able to play, and also all next weekend... Hehehehe...
Speaking of the ax...
Jim: Yeah, I already got one from finger picking a song... It popped open yesterday, but I get the same thing from drumming. It should be fine tommorow. Also, from my standpoint, I'd get that guitar re-fretted and get the pickups. I'm a big music guy, so sacrificing a little train money for some music stuff is fine with me.
Barry: Sounds like fun, just jamming. That spontaneously happened once during Honors Jazz Band, wound up with my director, our bassist, and me playing Rock and Roll by led zeppelin... Good times. I haven't been in a real band, but I bet I will next year.
Todd: Telecasters sound nice. I'm not a Fender guy because the only Fender I've ever seen was probably the cheapest model my friend has... Didn't leave much of an impression. But I do know Jimmy Page used a telecaster on a lot of the early Zep songs, and I know that sounds good. Oh, and I would like to sound like Page. That'd be nice, but of course, I do play things other than LZ.
Sue: Not recently. I don't know if you knew, but I got a 2003 edition Rivarossi FEF-3 #844 in November.
Ray: Thanks! Finally a person that calls guitars "axes" besides me...
Mark

He could used this really neat BBQ grill ........and ....he could lace it with some "DaBomb" sauce for you too. That Da Bomb sauce is pretty hot. I mix a couple of drops in with a bottle of Tabasco sauce and it makes a great fire sauce. Just being in the same room with it can get your eyes stinging.
I've tried that stuff a few times--works REALLY NICELY with Tobasco, although we did ours straight.
There was a hot sauce from something called House of Pain that was called Biochemical Warfare--THAT was pretty hot---
