Jordan ,those things are pretty cool.
We lost our scrimmage 12-4. Their record is 1-9, so they were happy. But a little too happy considering that they were a varsity team who murdered a 2nd year JV team. They were so dirty, and the refs didn't call anything. Not to mention the rink. It used to be a garbage disposal place, that some guy bought and turned into a hockey rink. I've heard that he bought the boards off ebay. And while skating, I fell over nothing, leading me to think that I hit some concrete or something. Anyway, we tend to do pretty good in games, but we lose almost every scrimmage we play.
Sorry, about my rant, I'm just so mad.
Pix 1st thing tomorrow.

Jordan, that is one funky SD40. I'm going to have to try to paint that

Jordan: That last one esplains a Bachmann SD45 I saw on ebay the other day.
I tried putting a new ladder end on one of my atlas cabooses. It went okay, but as it turns out, the mounting hole that goes in the walkway is broke. Atlas doesn't show said walkways or ladder ends on their site. I plan on calling about them later to see if they are available. If it's not, then I'll just say they got taken off since they started taking all that stuff off in the mid 70s.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Singer, looks great!
The Soo Line is getting more appealing to model...seems as though they had the same about of color in the late 80s as the WC did in the mid 90s...
Check this out, a lot of you probably didn't know the SOO bought an ex Chessie SD40...it got the patch like the MILW did, but this looks awesome! I found it ironic that a few days ago I found this unit on Flickr, and then today I saw it in a SOO Magazine.

The Soo also bought some ex KCS SD40s...

...Some where I saw some Ex ICG SD40/-2s...
...oh, and don't forget about there two SD45s...
http://sooline.dieselrosters.com/photo.aspx?lineageId=481&photoId=988
...add with that the Milwaukee Road bandits, the Candy Apple Red Scheme, possibly a few Parallelogram SD40-2s roaming around, along with leasers...the SOO seems pretty appetizing...if only I had the funds to do both WC and SOO.

Tyler, I did my research before I started because I was interested having my layout semi-realistic. My exact trackplan isn't exactly the most realistic, especially since you can plainly see the return loop. It's still pretty nice looking though.
TrainManTyMadSingerI model HO scale MILW Road. I model a branch line that was torn up in the '30's as if it wasn't torn up and was still around in the mid '60's. That's called protolancing, right? Anyway, I have just gotten started modeling and aren't all that good yet, but I'm having fun and improving, and that's good. Just started modeling, and you've got a prototype of a realistic size (on a real railroad line!) and a time frame within 10 years? That's great! Many people spend years modeling a freelanced railroad stretching coast-to-coast, with an era stretching 30 years or more, buying everything that catches their eye. That's fine, but not exactly realistic IMHO...That's not dismissing freelancing or protolancing; I model a freelanced railroad operating on a real roadbed (the Boston & Maine's Northern Division between Concord, NH, and White River Junction, VT) that was abandoned in real life, but in my reality the state contracted a private owner (the White River Southern Railroad) to operate the line. Welcome! Do you have any photos of your work that you'd like to share?

LOL, I used to try that, didn't quite work, now i got a plausible back story, and a few locos that I don't need now which will be headed to ebay.
bapou, search for me man, I can't find you (sbpackernut@gmail.com). you might already have a friend request form me though.
Bapou Ahahaha yeah that sorta turned into my default email address... The .tk link for NJTM is broken btw... Not enough hits :(

k, friend requesting you (Sawyer Berry).
EDIT: I just missed a few pages there.... Nice work!
ns3010Neither can I. Nevertheless, my band teacher wanted me to try out for the spring musical. It's Fiddler on the Roof. She said they'll take anyone who can hold a tune. Haha, yeah ok...

I was in Fiddler on the Roof at a local theater... I was Mordcha, the bartender...
MadSingerSadly, no, but I'm working on it. (convincing my parents its okay)

It is. Bapou, I know you have one though (gotta love that I've got the njtm email in my email address book )
Welcome MadSinger. To everyone that knows me, after a while away, I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! :) I've been busy lol.
MadSingerI play the piano too, Packers1. I'm pretty good, starting early advanced. And, like I assume you are (but then again, you know what they say about assuming), a diehard Packers fan. Too bad the Green and Gold are not in the playoffs this year.

You just became my best friend here
btw, you lie. That's some great modeling.
like I said though, it's just me hitting keys and making it sound good. I can't read sheet music too save my butt. I also got a 4x8 (which there's a ton of pics of in the previous few pages). Do you have a facebook profile?
Not very, just a 4'x8'. I know shame shame. But then again I think Packers has a 4x8.
Nice! How big is your layout?
Alex
Welcome Singer! Do you have any pictures of your layout. The Milwaukee Road is one of my favorite roads. Maybe Alex (MilwaukeeRoad) will chime in and say hi...
ns3010Packers#1put a sheet of music in front of me, and I couldn't play it. Could you at least READ music? Here's a basic crash course: Every Good Boy Does Fine. FACE. Fat Cats Get Dizzy After Eating Birds. BEAD GCF. Are you confused?

Well theres the break down of my roster!
MadSingerBy the way, my screen name is because I sing in my high school's madrigal choir, (1st Tenor and proud of it- that's the highest guy part).

sweet. The only place you could say i'm good at singing is church, b/c God don't care how good you are, so long as you praise him
I can play the piano to save my life, but then it's just me hitting keys that sound good, put a sheet of music in front of me, and I couldn't play it.
What I am good at is knocking the crap out of people on the football field
Neither can I. Nevertheless, my band teacher wanted me to try out for the spring musical. It's Fiddler on the Roof. She said they'll take anyone who can hold a tune. Haha, yeah ok... Besides, lacrosse starts in march anyway.
I finished the road, weathered my geep, and weathered the silos and transfer building on MPB. Have the pix, just waiting to upload them. They'll be up later, right after I get back from our game. If I don't get to it, it'll be first thing tomorrow morning, I promise.
SD60M: nice roster. Could you break it down my what you have there?
Alex: Thanks for the tip. I'll have to see if my mother's work (a bank) has any of those banker boxes. I can get foam easily. I've been toying with the idea of using military ammo boxes (very tough and waterproof) for train storage, maybe I can use part of your idea to get it too work.
MadSinger By the way, my screen name is because I sing in my high school's madrigal choir, (1st Tenor and proud of it- that's the highest guy part).
Cool. I can't sing for my life, but I play Trombone in the school Jazz Band.
Agreed,
Also, those locos look nice, SD60M!
MadSinger Anyway, I have just gotten started modeling and aren't all that good yet, but I'm having fun and improving, and that's good.

Of course it's good. I think it's fair enough to say that we are always improving, and always learning something new about the hobby.
And SD60M, you've built up quite a roster there!
Nothing new from me but here is a roster shot of all my locomotives collected over an 8 year period!
