Yeah, what he said...
If anyone ever asks you something in French just respond with "Je ne sais pas!"
Pronounced... juh nuh say pah... not juh like Jay, but almost like sha sound.. Jzha ne sais pas!
Alex
Yeah, I kinda figured out what she said...
They filmed that by you? It's set in some mall in NJ, but they don't say where. And for the record, it did come out last night, but Brianna was too stupid to figure out that they weren't showing it. So we had to sit through a fist fight where the cops came, screaming throughout the whole movie, and an hour and a half of "Jumby wants to be born now..."
Friday the 13th (the original version) is set and was filmed in NJ. The camp where they filmed it is over in Blairstown. Try to imagine when we were sitting in the cabin there and found out that the movie was filmed across the lake...

ns3010 I swear to god. My friends are retarted. So we were going to see Mall Cop tonight. This girl, Brianna, who's idea it was to go, said the movie was at 8. So at 6, my friend calls and says that he's on his way to pick me up. He gets to my house at 6:20 and we get to Rockaway at 6:45. We stand there for an hour, waiting for everyone else. WHen they get there, we find out that they don't show it there. Also, Brianna can't come anymore- genious. SO we see The Unborn. Freakiest movie ever. WTF. Who thinks of this stuff? It was good, but what was up with Jumby? Freaky little twin who died before he was born, so he tries to kill his twin sister. Good movie, but just plain weird...

LOL, nice.
The Unborn don't look too good though. The best scary movie ever is Room 1408. the best plot, awesome special effects, etc., etc.

Building a protolanced industrial park layout
I don't know what was worse, Brianna not figuring out that they don't show the movie there or that she didn't show.
It was pretty good. Never seen Room 1408. War of the Worlds is pretty good. Not scary, just cool.

yep.
Just make sure you got Delta farce or another comedy when you watch Room 1408.
Well, just uploaded the pictures of my industry side of my layout, so here they are:here's where the line to the main aiken yard (and the future ethanol plant) splits form the line to the industries: Distributor mock-up (I'm not sure what they distribute yet, but I know it will involve boxcars) And yes, that's just a crude mock-up for now until I can get my DPM modular planing kit copied and such: Plastic warplane factory mock-ups (plastic pellet hoppers or tank cars of paint will be spotted in the building w/ the paper over-hang, which will be made of pikestuff parts. The other building where the boxcars are will be a partial building that extend past the backdrop (there will be a small backdrop along this area):Looking down the throat of two industries. To your left is the plastic warplane factory. to your right is where dean's Feed & Seed will go (have two pikestuff kits for that). It will recieve bulk feed, which will be stored in the silo, and bagged feed, which comes in boxcars:Looking down main street. Too your left, there is where the fireworks factory will be 9have dPM's trackside transfer, my story is the factory took over the old co-op transfer building). You can see the shops to your left, and the garage at the end. The industries are vuisible over the buildings, which is on prupose:And now a few shots of my favorite scene:Enjoy! It's too cold for me to do anything in the attic, so I'll probably be building kits for a while.
Alex: What's with the tank car? Why am I receiving a free tank car, and what's it for? I'm just wondering what the backstory is...

lol, why am I getting free model raiload stuff?!? It happened a few times to me, people giving me stuff to get me started in the hobby. Nice stuff too. Got a ton of Walthers autoracks, the kit form. They are all done, and look good. I just need to weather them I guess.
I had taken spanish to prepare for the then emminent invasion from the south (Mexico, Cuba, etc.) and come to fin find out the French have invaded from the north? Great, now I have to re-learn German (yeah, I forgot most of the German language I knew). Cookie to anyone who gets the joke.
Tyler: I have a tank car just like that, except with metal wheels. If you're going to put kadees on it, you'll need some longer shanked ones.
Alex (the one who can really speak french): I envy you getting Autoracks as freebies (I'm needing to get some open and some enclosed). I only got 4 pieces of track (18 inch radius at that).
GG: Did you use craft paints (like the stuff you can get at Wal-Mart for 50 cents) for weathering? If you did, do share how much you thinned it and with what? I have about 30 coal hoppers I want to weather, and using pastels takes a while.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
PackerGreat, now I have to re-learn German (yeah, I forgot most of the German language I knew). Cookie to anyone who gets the joke.
Ima gunna take a guess and say it has something to do with the *** and WWII.
Well, we lost our game today, but I count it as a win. It was a scrimmage, and I expected us to lose. No one scored whole game. Lost 1-0 in a shootout. Considering that we didn't get blown away like last time we played them (9-1, but we only had 8 players and 1 goalie), we did good.
Since Jumby screwed me up last night- jk, it was my retarted friends- I didn't get anything done STILL. I even got everything out. I was about to mix the plaster for the roads when my friend called. At least I tried... But maybe I'll find time tomorrow away from studying and doing english homework. Yess, he really is evil enough to give us an essay due the day of our exam.
Also just realized that I have no more writing!!! At least till next year, I think 3rd quarter. Thank god it's only 1 quarter. Now I get to have gym again! But gym won't be the same without Mr. E... :(
Hey! I had to take spanish too you know! Four freakin' years of it. It's finally over! I finished just over a week ago. Now I have Drama.
I have a good amount of autoracks and autoparts boxcars now. I have 6 86' autoparts boxcars, mix of Athearn and Walthers. I have 12 Walthers Tri and Bi level autoracks. I also have 1 Tri and one Bi level Accurail open autorack. And last but not least, 2 Athearn Genesis Auto Max cars. But I still need 1 more Autoparts boxcar, and I want to get another 1-2 Auto Max cars. Then I want 3-4 Atlas ones. But they are real expensive. Reason I'm going for that many is so they all fill 4 Bankers Boxes. Each box will hold 7 cars. I will eventually make a lengthened box for the Auto Max and Atlas cars.

What you do is cut down the box to the car roof level, and add foam, so they don't move around inside. It's a really good idea if you are bringing them back and forth to clubs and people's layouts like I do. This way, they take up a lot less space than their original boxes, and it only takes about 45 seconds to take out or put away 7 cars. Sometimes it can take an entire minute to get a car in it's original packaging, so the Banker's boxes save a lot of time.
Anyone else here use Banker's Boxes?
Do you travel back and forth between different layouts frequently?
We have to take at least 2 years of a foreign language, although 3 is suggested. But I like my spanish class. It's fun.
Whoops, I just realized that my above post got edited. Didn't realize that I couldn't say that, but I understand.

Close enough. Also WWI, and lots of other stuff.
I'm getting really annoyed with my workplace. I tell them I would like to not have to work a lot on Saturdays so I can hang out with some friends (read: go to MR club). Guess what they turn around and do? give me 10-hours shifts every saturday (6am-4pm, no breaks), yet others can get off so they can go out and do the same thing or go shopping or without even asking they get it off. I might end up calling off one day, just for the heck of it. (they don't need me there every single saturday in the whole dang year, haven't had a saturday off since I started I working there, last september)
Alex: I like the bankerbox idea better than my idea. Where would one get a box like that?

That sounds like our basketball game, but our team was 5 white boys (including me), and their team was probably 13 or 15 black boys (some of which dwarfed me). We got mauled, 47-6.
Sawyer, looking good so far.
Seems like Athearn has a release date on those F45s again. although it hasn't changed, still showing late january, which is like a couple of weeks. Horizon is showing a late January too, so it may hopefully be here by early to mid febuary.
I picked up my Bankers Boxes at Bureau-En-Gros, but I have a feeling you won't find one anywhere near you! Give Staples a try, or any office supply store.
You can also make them out of old, large cardboard boxes. It all depends on your cardboard cutting/measuring skills and your level of laziness. I guess I'm a lazy one! But be warned, Banker's boxes are some of the most expensive pieces of cardboard around! I think I got 6 for 20 bucks, but I guess it's cheaper in the States.
And ask your mom where to get some foam, like in the 1/2" to 2" range. Good to have variety. Chances are she knows where the nearest store is for that kind of stuff. For me it was at a local furniture repair store.
Hi, I'm new to the forums here, and am a teen, so I thought I'd drop by.
Drop by anytime!
Any particular railroads that you like/model?
MadSinger Hi, I'm new to the forums here, and am a teen, so I thought I'd drop by.
hi and welcome hope you enjoy.
First, singer! Please let us know about yourself and your modeling.
Well, for once, I actually did what I said I would do! I finished the road (the main part anyway) and I even got to do some weathering on my geep. Pix to come later.
MadSingerHi, I'm new to the forums here, and am a teen, so I thought I'd drop by.
Welcome to the forums. What scale do you model in?
Nothing new from me but here is a roster shot of all my locomotives collected over an 8 year period!
I model HO scale MILW Road. I model a branch line that was torn up in the '30's as if it wasn't torn up and was still around in the mid '60's. That's called protolancing, right? Anyway, I have just gotten started modeling and aren't all that good yet, but I'm having fun and improving, and that's good.
By the way, my screen name is because I sing in my high school's madrigal choir, (1st Tenor and proud of it- that's the highest guy part).

Of course it's good. I think it's fair enough to say that we are always improving, and always learning something new about the hobby.
And SD60M, you've built up quite a roster there!
Agreed,
Also, those locos look nice, SD60M!

Cool. I can't sing for my life, but I play Trombone in the school Jazz Band.
SD60M: nice roster. Could you break it down my what you have there?
Alex: Thanks for the tip. I'll have to see if my mother's work (a bank) has any of those banker boxes. I can get foam easily. I've been toying with the idea of using military ammo boxes (very tough and waterproof) for train storage, maybe I can use part of your idea to get it too work.
