CapeJim: I'm not using Word on this, so the margin shouldn't be an issue. Actually MSWORD doesn't seem to be the problem, as it's wordwrap application works fine. What Ido find a nuisance with the new Forum software is that if I were doing this in Word, and just copied it and pasted in this field, there would be no separation between any of the paragraphs I put in the original Word.doc That in Jeff's words is a PITB.
So instead I now copy and separately paste each stupid paragraph. Then I space down at least 3 times to paste the next paragraph. Even then it sometimes bunches up. Why do I bother? In Word I get the spelling and grammar check showing me typos and spelling errors. Spelling may not be that important in the grand scheme of things, but typos like "theh" for "the" my fingers do all the time, and often it ruins he sens eof wha tI'mt ryingt osay. (Just got back from Preview, and there were at least 4 of those I have fixed here)
One other thought about the margin thing, and Jeff referred to it in his comment about the Helium Car photo. I find it is critical to check the image size before uploading to (in my case Photobucket) because a large file size on the upload can and has with me, resulted in a margin busting post here, despite the re-sizing done automatically by Photobucket (and claimed for the Forum too).
Off now to have a go at doing what I couldn't do yesterday on the crane because we had a power out all evening. Played crib with my MIL instead, by candlelight

Jeff, the prototypes of that helium car were all owned by the Army, historically I don’t know anyone that had them besides the Army. You said you wanted something to break up the monotony of box cars on your layout, I think that one does it.

I guess tomorrow, I will work on my engine and do some plastering over the plaster cloth. I know my b-day is next Tuesday, and the wife said that the engine was my only gift. BUT....... I think I can talk some track out of her.

Evening Gang: I'm happy that the rest of you are having right margin problems too. I was beginning to think that my puter was the culpret.
I got to work on the large scale stuff some today, I sand blasted the parts for two pairs of trucks. After that I got caught up in cleaning the shop. No I didn't get the whole place cleaned up, that may take a couple of centuries. I have gotten a start and have found some things that I've been missing. Tomorrow I'm going to try and get the two short gons washed up and ready for paint. I also need to machine the one set of economy trucks and then bore out the side frames for new bearings in the sprung trucks. I found the frames and stuff for the Fox trucks that I had started making several years ago. I'll have to get on those again. I'm sounding like Jim with all his kits.

BTW, I have always thought those Helium cars were very cool looking.
Added some more bulbs to the track lights. Should produce a reasonable lighting effect for a layout. I am beginning to wonder when I'll ever have enough time to actually "build" that layout. Still need to run the farm and paint. It is going to be a slow process, no doubt.

Good morning. It's 47 and clear. Today's high will be around the lower 60's and it will be clear. Yesterday I finished work on my 4 track pedestrian walkway that will eventually be spanning the tracks at the back of my layout. It's a Model Power copy of a Heljan kit but that didn't keep it from being any more complex. Such a structure would be a fantastic train watching spot and would afford great aerial shots. I also relit the north engine house yesterday. It's now nice and bright in there at night. On last night's weather, it looked like Indiana, Ohio, and western NY were gonna be getting the lake effect stuff. Me? I just had a little frost on the windshield this morning. (I figure our turn will be in Jan./Feb.).

Actually, I'm further along on my layout than one of our MRR club members. He recently donated some nice engines for the club's use, with the condition for the donation being that when (ahem... when) he gets started on his layout, the other club members will help him out with it. But in all fairness, he's an accountant, so the first half of the year he is swamped (and he has enough to do at w**k in several other months, too). He's 'semi-retired'; wants to retire, but the firm wants him to keep working (and he does). Hard to get much done on a layout when you're at w**k a lot, I suppose. See, Rob - you're not the only one having trouble getting to the layout w**k!
Placed an order with our MRR club member/LHS owner at the MRR club meeting last night. Then, when I totalled it up back at home, I about went into shock. Should've figured the total first, instead of making up my order at the club room, huh? The LHS owner/club member is having us over to his place for our Christmas dinner/train running (annual) event. We told him that since we're often all ordering from him, he could deduct the food and expenses as a business expense for his best customers. He said if it weren't for all our orders, he might not still have his Walthers and Horizon dealerships.
Anyway, back to the club meeting - it was a lot of filling in those ties that you cut out when you're soldering track sections together or cutting pieces to fit (and then have to fit back in so there's not this gaping spot). We got all of the ties in place (we'll just ballast over them and glue them in place then), and the AC power lines under the layout are all in place (except we need conduit to run a vertical line to hook into the other power). Need to drop feeder wires and hook them to the buss lines. Almost ready for our one club member to paint the backdrop light blue. We decided to hold off on doing the clouds until we see where the buildings and scenery will be. We might be running trains around the start of the new year!
I'll slide into the corner booth and see who else comes in. Sunny day out here. [Edit] Well, looky who's got the breakfast tab! Chow down, Diners! Zoe, start the totalling, please.

I need to get a ground auger and dig some post holes. Then I need to plant the posts and connect them all together (make boxes), then fill the boxes with pea gravel. The tricky part is that the whole thing is on a slope. We have to get this done before the hot tub can go in.
Oh, and it's +20 waether, not minus. If it was minus then I'd tell her to wait for spring!
The yellow kits are a little harder to assemble, the I beam on the bottom of the car is in 2 peices and you have the standard 3 part undercarriage brake system.
The white box has a single peice I beam, 3 part brake system and is pretty easy to asemble.

That's why my photos are all reduced to 800x600 by Photobucket automatically when I upload them. If I left them at the size they come from the camera the folks on dial-up would never forgive me.
