Hey Davey boy, I can think of some things you can do with that time on Friday. I need some help on the layout.

Just stop by for a Leaping Horses Merlot before heading off to bed.  Ahhh, Sue my girl, too much time on my hands,.....well, that is what retirement means, although Lorraine had me moving shrubs and bushes all day, and digging up 5 year old Burning Bushes is no walk in the park, those root structures are a bear to get loose, and so is the Rose of Sharon trees.  All toll, 5 moved to new locations today. That is what you call " savage amusement" !

Then you will be happy to know that I watched a taped show of "Axe Men" on the History Channel from last Sunday night...they are all your neighbors from western Oregon. Four logging companies trying to make a living in some really rough mountainous terrain cutting huge trees and hauling them up steep ravines to logging trucks. What a tough and dangerous job that is, over 100 men are killed each year in logging accidents and I can see why.

DAVID: The schools here have Spring vacation next week, did you have your week off already?

Evening gang,

Just drove the golden spike in the third mainline (that only took 3 months).  I haven't added up the total mainline run yet.  Dale (A friend from work) and his son Alex (7 years old) are coming over in the morning to run trains and help make some trees.  They might need to help solder leads to the track.

Went to the LHS today to pick up another truss bridge and some track bumpers.

Ok time for a shower, sleep and then more work on the layout.  I'll need to go back to work just to rest up!

Morning, Zoe - a mocha to go, please. Have to leave the car with the Ford dealer so they can check it out on the chimes and sensors and alarms (...oh my!...Wink [;)]). But I believe the other dealer (where I bought the Taurus) said they're going to cover the tab. {Sweet!)

NittanyLion, nice haul there, including the cars and such. Yep, it might just be track planning time for you - along with Dick, who's short on time because of his treescaping jobs that his CFO has him busy with...Whistling [:-^]

Well, I will try to get back in a bit after the car place drops me off at the office. Hope you all have another gorgeous day like we're gonna have (70 F or so, a little breezy). Of course, the weatherguessers are saying chance of rain on Friday. Pooh! And, I have to go to w**k on Friday, unlike our young MRR'ers who are out of school. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Take care, and see you later!

Blessings,

Morning folks!

I'll have two eggs sunny side up, sausage links, hash browns and whole wheat toast please! And sum of Ed's OJ too! Gotta keep the Vitamin C up ya know!

Thanks Chloe!

I gotta give a thumbs up to the TS Diner staff, they sure are a quick service bunch around these parts. Never messed up an order yet!

You guys getting a lot of pollen from the trees yet? It looks like yellow dust on every vehicle and side walk around these parts.

Hey, I don't usually force my beliefs on anyone, but I gotta tell ya, we were singing Psalm 118:24 in church the other day and it seems to be my mantra lately...

Good morning.......63F already here, yesterday it hit 65F and today it will make the 70's, creeping higher every day.

JIM: NO TREES !!! Just bushes and shrubs......nothing over 6 feet high, I'm not Charlie Atlas you know, I do this by HAND, not big tractors and digging backhoes etc. LOL

RYAN: Pollen count is 8 on a scale of 10 here, every kind of tree around here is in bud, and with all the warm weather and full sun this week, the Pollen is really flying.

Went to see my foot doctor this morning. He's very happy with the progress I'm making on my foot care. The wound has healed by another twelve millimeters. When I got home I checked the mail and found a padded envelope containing a slightly used Lenz LE1014-JST Drive Select decoder. Current rating is 1 amp continuous current and it has four function outputs. I'm thinking about putting it into the P2K E6 that I recently rebuilt. I must be doing something right. I've gotten three locos (two dummies and one powered) and two decoders in the mail in less than two months. One of the locos and one of the decoders were complete surprises, I had no idea whatsoever that they were coming.

in a SOUTHERN mug, please & thank you.

***Jeffrey, that's good news about your foot. Wishing you continued healing! Thumbs Up [tup]

***Ryan & Dick, our pollen count is 9.9 today. Bet the drug companies love this time of year for selling antihistamines, which I refuse to take. Pirate [oX)] My FAVORITE drug ad of all time was called: Progenitorivox. It has been removed from the jibjab site, but can be found by searching for it elsewhere. Well worth seeing if you haven't.Laugh [(-D]

Still looking for an in-stock Atlas (N) Shay for sale online, from a reputable store that takes Paypal. Our LHS has a good price on pre-order for the Kato GS4, but they still have not responded to my e-mails. Not a good way to draw in a new customer.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

ROB: The Pollen Index is at max here today. I agree with you Rob regarding taking pills for anything, I take only what is absolutely necessary, like 81mg aspirin a day. Luckily, I don't get all red eyed and sneezy, and I really feel badly for those who do suffer from Pollen.Sigh [sigh]

JIM: Another inch of rain forecasted for Cape Gerardeau I see on the Weather Channel, like you guys need more rain!!! Disapprove [V]Shock [:O] And poor Denver, in the 70's two days ago and 2" of snow today.....ahhh Springtime in the Rockies !!

JEFF: Good news regarding your foot, keep at it Jeff, that is nothing to ignore as you know so well. Where are these Decoders and Locos coming from Jeff?Smile [:)]

Howdy everybody!

Jeff ... Good news about the foot getting better. Glad to learn the news.

Lee ... Glad to hear about the layout progress. Perhaps one or two diners can follow your example. Whistling [:-^]

Now, everyone.... We all probably agree that Dick's recent avatar is exceptionally nice. I'm wondering, however, if you've seen Ryan's recent avatar.......... Let's vote: Does he look better in the current avatar or in his prior avatar? Cool [8D]

Happy Model Railroading!

The ones I knew about came from people who don't want their identities revealed. The loco and decoder that were complete surprises, I have no real idea who they came from. One had a general delivery address from a post office with no name for the individual. It had a note inside the package that simply said 'From me to you for your generosity and kindness to others'. The surprise decoder had no return address at all.

refill, please & thanks!

Just ordered a bunch of Unitrack from onlinetrains. First time I've tried them, so will be interesting to see how they do with the order. Not enough track to complete a layout, but enough to allow further exploration of ideas. Guess I prefer a more tactile approach to this. I'm also getting impatient to see some progress.

Back to work at the ol' easel now.

Well we found a place we really liked but it needs some work and the sale of my mobile home fell thur so we had no money to put on it to make the purchase. So I guess if I do sell this it will be to late it was close to work and everything. It would have been perfect for us. Oh well thats the way things go for us. I'm starting to feel that this job just isn't going to work no matter how hard we try. This place hits the papers again tomorrow for 2 weeks so we will see when that is over. If its still ours I guess I have to call off the job .

Hey all, how's everyone been?  Seems like I haven't been on here in ages, though it's not really been quite that long.  Life just keeps getting in the way, ya know?  Shoot, I'm at school now just waiting for class to start.  Got a lot of reading to do to catch up.  I see Jeff's foot is doing better, and he's busy rebuilding trains.  I see Rob is getting ready to tke his train room by storm.  Much beyond that, I'll have to catch up later.  Oh well, I'm off!

***Ryan, sounds like you had a great trip. It's certainly beautiful country up there.

***Gav, were those 3 psychotic episodes yours or other folks?Laugh [(-D]

Guess who visited that LHS today? Nope, it was my wife. She said it is all N scale and the two fellas (perhaps in their 30's) were in the back on their computers. (not answering my e-mail I might add Whistling [:-^]) She saw a factory and thought of buying it for me but didn't. I was glad, as I am probably going to sell most of my remaining structures off as it is, to simplify my layout. One main industry is all I need and perhaps an abandoned mine or two.

Evening,

We had a good train session today; Dale and his son Alex stopped over to help with the layout.  Dale soldered power leads to the tracks while I ran the wires under the layout.  Alex shunted cars in the yard for 6 hours.  The three of us took a midsession break to make 9 trees for around the ice house.  Dale volunteered to help build a couple of buildings for the layout so he and Alex departed with my supply house and a sanding station.  I ran the Challenger around the #3 and the #2 main lines with only minor issues I need to address.  The 2-8-8-0 Mallet has an issue I need to address concerning dropping the tender off whenever it feels like it. I need to run the power under the layout for the #1 main line tomorrow.

Jeff, have you taken any of the ICS courses?   That is good news on your foot, sounds like your healing inch by inch (no pun intended).  Can I borrow you mail box, LOL!

RT, good luck with the sale, I'm sure the right person will come along soon.

Not sure what you mean by ICS courses. I was trained through the LSU Fire Fighter Training Center. They may have the same courses under a different name.
