They're about the size of a box of Tic Tac's now! It plays am/fm radio, mp3's and it even plays video's and movies!
Glad you're feeling better RT!
Lee.... that's alot of track!!!!! You can google to find Kentucky Railway Musem. It's in New Haven, KY . That's south of Bardstown and east of Elizabethtown. It's close to Abe Lincoln's birthplace.
Or you could wait for a tired person to spoil ya with this: http://www.kyrail.org/

in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please & thank you.
***Jerry, saw that BL2 on the Museum page. I know a lot of folks think they are ugly, I always thought they were sharp looking. Even had a model of one for a time.
Wish I had known about that Kentucky Museum last time I was up that way. Would love to have visited the model train building and seen all the BIG stuff as well. (It only took me 8 or 9 years to finally go see "The General" and that Museum is local )
Well, 9 hours to go and my latest train sales will be completed. Just hope I don't end up regretting any of it. If it leads to a Bigboy churning out sounds in the dungeon, I'll be content.
Hope y'all are enjoying your weekend.

Dick has some new right-of-way!!!! Now, it's time to plan. What's it going to be, Dick? ..the Boston & Albany? .... Boston and Maine? ..... oh, oh.... endless possibilities. Some of the CAD program gurus have a chore ahead, perhaps. Steam era, Dick? ..... This is exciting! Congrats, Dick..
GARRY, if I can only get out of the planning stage and lay some tracks!!! This was a bit of a surprise to get this room. We had left it the way it was when my dad died with the orginal Maple bedroom set, thinking that relatives might use that room during visits overnight etc. However, this was not the case and is used so infrequently, and now that one of our grandsons needs a larger bed.....well you get the picture, things are to be USED not saved and looked at while they collect dust. So the positives are many, especially for me with large open room with NO POSTS or COLUMNS!
Because this room is the lower level of a split entry ranch, the outside concrete walls on two sides are only 3 feet high, and they are closed-in with a shelf board 12" wide on top. This opens up some interesting possibilities for a mountain RR at higher elevations above the layout benches below this elevation. Talk about possibilities!! Ya and MORE planning.
The weather isn't too bad here today, mostly cloudy with sun breaking out through clear spots from time to time, temp is 46F with winds out of the NW gusting to 18mph.

refill, please & thanks!
***Cool shield. What materials were used to make it?
***Plowdown #7...Nice work & humorous, too! It's just too bad the folks responsible for "those ads" couln't have been in those lead locomotives.
With just over 4 hours to go, I'm keeping an eye on my auctions. My "track fund" is in reasonable shape now, so should be able to pick up a few of those Unitrack switches soon. "Bigboy fund" actually isn't there yet, unless I dip into the track fund, which I certainly can do if need be. Fingers crossed.
Wierd goings-on here today. The sky is no longer that dirty gray and can someone tell me what that big yellow thing is?44 and sunny!

***Jeffrey, great shot there. Can't miss one of those coming down the tracks, eh! Perdy!
Wife & I have been watching movies today. The nurses at work have an exchange program going so they're all swapping movies.
Evening Gang!
Hope everyone is doing just dandy this day.
Dick/Ed - Go Sox!
PC - Sorry I have responded sooner, but great news about your son with the recovery and all. Even better, the get-well gifts he got are one sure way to get a kid really into trains. Also, give him a high 5 for me for those awards at the banquet the other night!
Ok, so here's one of the shots I got about 2 weeks ago, that I have yet to post. What's interesting, is I have not seen one of these things in quite a while!
Hope everyone enjoys it!
Time for some baseball... Go Sox!
Take care!

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
Hi guys. Yes, it be me. I am back.
I see jeff has been to the museum today. Nice pics. I may have wanted to go also you know.
Oh man! Looks like I will be buying for the page tonight.
David Parks I am the terror that flaps in the night!
In that case I'll have a burrito and some tacos.
Don't forget the Tobasco sauce!
One lastand make it 1/2 decaf & 1/2reg and a plate of Cheese Enchiladas. Just put it on David's tab. Thanks!
***Jeffrey, cool roundhouse pic. I see those locos are at off angles. Any trouble with them transitioning to the turntable?
***JP, that old caboose has been around the block (or is that over a few hills) a few times. Those are actually my favorite type, just in Southern or UP colors.
Well, gotta say I am most please with the-bay sales tonight thus far. Passed all my expectations. The train fund is in good shape again.
Evening Gang: the train show is over with and I'm bushed. I'll have to go and pick up my equipment tomorrow. It's a good thing that I'll have the help of the of the guys at the gardens. I'll probably pick up the track on Tuesday since it won't fit into the trailer with all the equipment. The guys at the garden can unbolt the sections and stack them where they can be loaded easily.
I'm going to hit the hay. I'll see you all tomorrow.
Good Night All

Many years ago there was a Knight (Red Beard) who made his armor out of old pickle barrels. He would cut, melt & pound on the stuff, eventually creating very convincing armor, suitable for competition. It was both light and strong but very labor intensive to make. He wielded a battle axe, if memory serves me. He joined a troop I put together for a NORWESCON competition one year. He beat one of my dragons, only to fall to a second one on stage. Ahh, those were some fun times.
Good evening, Chloe. I will have a root beer float, please. I bet Jim will be in for one soon.
Dick, Thanks for your kind words. I have not heard you talk about bowling lately? You haven't teased me about White Cascades either.
Philip, I know that your life has been crazy, but we usually work on our layouts in spurts anyway. We did a little this weekend. I didn't like the color of a few rocks in the river bed. Just try to paint them after they are glued down.
Paul, I worked on our fence a little, so I could turn the steers into another pasture. They seem to be content. How is your hay holding out? The grass is a little slow starting this year. The snow we had the last week of March didn't help.
Mark, I'll bet that you were outside this weekend. We hit 75 degrees. Watch out air conditioning weather.
Lee, You must have missed my note that I found figure painting boring.
Jeff, Nice RH photo.
My new CMX track cleaning car should arrive this week. I am watching for the mail carrier.
