Morning, Zoe - hey, does the cook still have some of PC's Turf 'n' Surf special left to fix? Yeah, I'll have that. Never had it in the morning (yet). Thanks! Oops [oops], looks like I'll be covering lunch after all!

Lee, sorry 'bout the marching band choice - I just got that one because it was on short notice for the party and all. But next shindig we have in the Diner, I'll let you get the Ohio band. Wink [;)] I thought it was the Mizzou marching band, 'cause it was the same colors for the uniforms. Whistling [:-^]

Dick, I actually am thinking I'll be going with the credit union locally as my new 'bank.' Got to get to next payday first, and then I may just be able to set up the account for direct deposit at the CU. Got to stretch things a bit until then.

RT, hope you get a good word on the job soon. I'm guessing your TB test didn't flare up or anything, right? Yeah!! [yeah]

Sue, add my belated Happy B-Day [bday] wishes. How about a little cake for a celebration in here today?

or would you rather have a frozen yogurt concrete? Smile [:)]

Your pick, birthday gal! Sounds like you enjoyed your celebrations so far.  By the way, I really like your tunnel entrance in your signature.Thumbs Up [tup]

Got some rain starting here today (some had a little last night, more to the north of us). I'm betting Inch and Jerry will be getting rain today. I'm not sure what the last report on the forecast for the weekend was like. Last I heard, they'd modified Saturday's prediction to include some possible rain. Oh, pooh... Really wanted it dry for laundry day.

Best be getting myself back to the paper stuff... See everyone later (likely tonight).

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Happy B-Day [bday] Sue! Though a day late, here is a fresh baked TS Diner cake for you....

PC great news and congratulations on winning the case with SS! I can feel the smiles and grins you all must have had when those groceries and folks arrived.

Garry nice image!

Paul that house with 5+ acres and the stream sounds like a great place.

Check you all later,

OI! Where did my post go?!?

I swear I posted last night... It's not there...

Oh well... Time to repost.

Flashwave:(Or anyone else that want's to listen to me fixing my tracks) I fixed my track issue. I had to add a 22" radius curve to one side, shorten the flex track so it would fit, and now its a rough 22" radius all the way.

Grayfox: Yes, all of my curves are 22"s, for the sake of all my locomotives and passenger cars, which are rated for 22"s and 24"s...

Hey howdy y'all! Iced tea for me please!

New picture...This is where I'll be in only a few years time! Yeah!! [yeah]

Gotta love the big road units. I don't know which I like better, the new ES40DCs or the new SD70M-2s...They're both up there. The best rides NS has got. Although the last run of SD70Ms are very nice too...

I've been in the yard the past few days, doing a lot of shiftin' work...Within my shift, maybe close to 100 cars get shifted out. Most guys out here can pass 200 or more within a shorter shift. But for a new conductor, I've appearantly build myself up quite the reputation...As a few of the engineers say, if there's a job to be done..."Scotty Can!" Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Looks like I may actually get a short break today. I worked from 4:00pm yesterday and got off at 5:00am this morning. 13 hours and a whole lotta overtime! Probably won't go back out until tonight, but we'll see...Here's hoping for a road train.

Cowboy [C):-)] I'm out y'all!

Good Afternoon,

Been non-stop here at work.  Believe it or not I had to write a biography on myself for my new job, I'll be on the Admiral's staff starting in July.  I hate writing about myself. i would share it with you but I don't want to put anyone to sleep.

I can hear it now:, Scotty I need  200 cars shifted in 20 minutes or we are all dead! (just kidding)  What a multi-million dollar locomotive and no cup holders????

Sue, happy belated birthday, how old are you now? 23???

Jeff, WS & Beer, you know that might improve my modeling!

Jim, just giving you a hard time, but OSU is much better (LOL).

PC, all I can say is WOW!

Ozark Belt, thanks for sharing your project with us.

Bad cough and sinus infections are going around, my GF has been out of work for 4 days now.  I'm feeling a little better but not at 100% yet. No work to the L.S.&W since I've been sleeping 13 hours a day trying to shake this infection, doc has me on horse pills.

I can identify with that photo. I had to be kep-t overnight after badly breaking a knee because of the stupid act of jumping from a moving freight train. I was about his age at the time too.

I'm guessing Sue just turned 21. Anyone want to start a Diner pool? Of course, since it ain't polite to ask a girl her age, we'll never know, but...Oops [oops]

Zoe, I think I'll have a chocolate yogurt concrete, please. I'll be at the corner booth.

Hey PC.

Glad to hear that your son is doing so well and that your wife is getting something from the Government. It's just like them to say put into it and then when you really need it, they say, "Sorry, you can't have any money". It's to bad that the Judge could only give her one of the two years back payments

It sounds like you have some real fine "stand up and be counted" folks at your church. They are what the world needs more of. God bless 'em.  Angel [angel]

Sue.

A belated Happy B-Day [bday] to you. I heard a rumour going around the Forums that this birthday was the "Sweet Sixteen and never been Kissed" birthday. Is that correct??? Say yes, Sue, say yes. Here's best wishes for lots more.

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLDER AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.

George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police,  who asked 'Is someone in your house?' and he said 'no'. Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available. George said, 'Okay,' hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again. 'Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were  people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them.' Then he hung up. Within five minutes six police cars, a SWAT Team, a helicopter, two fire trucks, a paramedic and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught the burglars red-handed. One of the Policemen said to George: 'I thought you said that you'd shot them!'  George said, 'I thought you said there was nobody available!' (True Story)

On a Saturday morning in the spring of 1982, I was sitting in traffic on the main drag in College Station Texas right in front of Texas A & M campus. I had $3,500.00 cash in an envelope in the glove box and was on my way to the Kawaski motorcycle dealership to buy myself a 750 LTD. I had my girlfriend Jaimie and her best friend with me in the front seat of the car. A pick up truck full of guys pulled up along side of us and the one on the passenger side started trying to get the girls attention. When I turned and looked at him he gave me the finger so I gave it back. When we pulled up to the next light he jumped out of the truck and ran over and grabbed me by the throat and told me he'd kill me. So I reached under the seat and pulled out my .38 police model and stuck it in his face, but all he said was go ahead... I then floored the car to leave but he hung on, so I rolled the window up on him causing him to jump up on the roof of the car or be dragged by the arm down the road. After about two minutes of driving down the road with this idiot on the roof of my car, I slowed down just enough to let him off and unrolled the window, but as he got his feet on the ground he tried punching me through the window but I floored the gas and got away from him. He then jumped in the back of the truck that his buddies were following us in and chased us all the way across Bryan through about fifteen red lights without a cop in sight... As they chased us they threw beer bottles at the car and even rammed me a couple of times doing a lot of damage to the drivers side of the car. I finally ended up at my sister's house, ran in and called the police. The stupid guy stood on my sisters front porch pounding on the door demanding that I come out and settle it like a man!. After about five minutes the guy finally left. My girlfriend and her friend got the license plate number of the truck and gave it to the police when they got there. The police were real interested in what happened until I told them I pulled a gun on the guy and then everything changed... All of a sudden I was the bad guy, and they told me that even though the guy was wrong for he did, that because I was carrying an illegal weapon that I'd have to drop the charges against him otherwise he and they could file against me. Now does that make any sense?... Oh well. I have a concealed weapons license now so nothing like that had better ever happen again or it's going to turn out real bad for the other guy!.

JEFF: on the Bachmann engine taking a dump, it was fine( the decoder). My decoder guy asked if I'd had it in a consist ,I did. He reset and all is fine . I opted to have him install an NCE in it though. I'll use the factory decoder in another Geep.I think I got lucky with my friend, $5-10 per install, plus $10 for the decoder. RT, I have someone here who wants to say something..........

Hey Mr. RT, Thank you for the train!  I wasn't expecting that!  I've needed a train for our train set and this will really come in handy.  Thank you so much!  It's as big as the biggest train my dad has.  But it looks better!

And he's outta here!

As he mentioned, I have one just like it that I've relettered (poorly I might add): http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/N%20Scale%20Trains/AutumnsRidge2007.jpg .  I also have two with the vanndy tenders.  Not bad loco's, not bad at all since they redid the drives on em.

IT'S HERE, AFTER 10 MONTHS IT'S FINALLY HERE

My big boy came at about 3:00 today. It's awesome, pics and video to come soon... Here's my review.

Broadway Limited Blueline 4-8-8-4 Big Boy:

This locomotive has superb detailing, and it runs pretty well too. It has directional lighting, and despite advertising, non-lit number boards. The sound is amazing, it beats ESU's Loksound and even Soundtraxx's Tsunami series decoders.

Pros: Well detailed, runs well, sound is perfect, and it's a big boy.

Cons: Wiring harness is badly designed, programming the sound/motor decoders is a bit frustrating...

The wire harness at first glance is normal. 8 pin plug from the engine to the tender. But in the tender, the plug is about 2" back from the front, and you have to pop off the coal load to plug or unplug it, which is a hard, frustrating process.

The sound decoder and motor decoder need to be programmed to the same address to work well, which was a bit hard. Ops mode programming helped, but if you don't pay 100% attention and miss a step, only the sound decoder gets programmed.
