Nice pictures! Always liked those GP30's. Did you know that they were "styled" by GM's auto department?

Thanks for the compliment. I don't know that, I just think the GP30 looks tight.

GP30's rock. At one time I had 5, 1 is currently on loan, and 2 are destined to be shipped off to BN. The ICG GP30 was sent to me free from a good friend who passed last November.

Nice locos Sawyer! That's a freelaced short line right? Something about short lines, I really like them.

Alex (Guilford Guy) I like that winter shot. How'd you do it. I think I read it was WS snow something. Sure beats my winter shot.

Another locomotive might be in the line of fireing to be patched, a P2K BN SD45.

WCfan, that RR is a freelanced class 1 rr. I own it, so i run it by my rules. There will be the addition of an MP15 and some other road locos (and a GP38). I only have to have the MP15, so I'll spend money on getting my RR runing (aka track, wiring, ground throws). I will be getting a good amount oif locos, tho. Great photos, GG, you are a true master.

Wink [;)] I agree. I like everyones photos very much. I need to start documenting my little projects and taking pictures of my equipment. It seems that when you are part of a club, you obviously don't have to spend a huge amount of time on building your layout, but you sure end up using alot of your time participating in club activities, all my personal time that I use for posting, documenting and photography for my own self and not the benefit of my club seems to disappear! Sad [:(] Perhaps it's because I keep suggesting new ideas (whick almost always get taken care of by the suggestor) and I always want to take part in all the tasks available! Sigh [sigh] You can't have everything!

I wish I was in a club.... I can't run long trains on my layout without stringlining them on the grade, derailing cars, or hitting dead spots everywhere.....Banged Head [banghead] My track just....won't.....stay.....clean!

Anyway, I'm done whining now...Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Railfan Alex, I'd be interested in some pix of your stuff too, maybe even a video! (Club layouts are great for that)

I got a cell the other day, so I could use that to take a video. Wanna do that at the MR club since the guy with the camera-equiped loco hasn't shown up in a while.

    Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

    2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Welcome Boston! Sign - Ditto [#ditto] with the Sign - Welcome [#welcome] from Tyler.

Whistling [:-^] I made a new Free laced RR. Right now I have 3. This one is called Illinois Minnesota and Western. I think I should of did a diffrent truck color. I was going for silver.....

Or how about my short line? Two Rivers Manitowoc and Western? lol, it's just some patched locos.

Last it's my Moutain RR called the Montana Western, with da puke yellow frame color! LOL, that was the one big mistake I made.

    SD45.

I'll also post the F45. Big Smile [:D]

Hey all, I live over on the west coast in California, near San Francisco. I am working on rebuilding my former 4x8 HO scale layout. I hope to one day model some Southern Pacific mainline action, but for now I have a primarily switching layout. I use a Digitrax DCC system on my layout, and have a fairly random mix of rolling stock. Once I get underway on my new layout, I'll try to post some pictures.

I want to shift my attention to the pre-merger SP line that serviced the San Francisco Bay area, but currently most of my equipment is several decades older.

Since a lot of guys were posting their rosters, I'll include mine as well.  Though I have several locomotives, I usually only use the following two switchers:

    S12 (Stewart)

SW7 (Broadway Limited Imports w/ sound)

When I'm lucky, I can still see some SP motive power on the freight trains around here, but usually its all Union Pacific. After this summer, however, the "hometown" railroad will change dramatically, as I will be going to college in Pennsylvania, and there is (I believe) a Norfolk Southern track through town. It will definately be a big change from the yellow UP engines to the black and white NS!

I like the SD40 and the paint scheme WCfan (-pinkypurple)! Is the paint based on an existing railroad?

Welcome Boston. One tip I used from a thread here was a 50:50 mix of white glue and water is just as good as scenic cement. That is true, it has worked great. One other: Get your money's worth. So use online hobby shops and buy good locomotives (basically, don't dump $30-50 bucks on a piece of crap loco [Atlas+Kato=great n scale fleet]).

The paint scheme is sort of based off of a couple different RRs. The green was more of a lighter version of the cascade green, the "Z" stripe is based off the WC F45s, the trucks where based off of the EJE trucks (I could also say ATSF too), and the biggest help was the DME paint scheme. That's what really inspired me.

Nice! My first guess would have been CN&W, because the paint scheme with the Z looks a bit like their last paint scheme, along with similar colors.

Today I did a bit of Rail Fanning of my Diorama.

When I arrive at Clear Water Junction we find the LO15 waiting just beyond the CNW/UP diamond.

We asked the crew if they knew when the CNW train was coming, but they didn't know. So we quick went to get some dinner. When we had got back the CNW train had already crossed, and the LO15 had left.

Later the scanner comes alive; an Empty Ore train to Superior is heading west from Algoma Steel.

We hear the roar of the EMDs as they start the grade, and then slow down for the crossing. After clearing the crossing the crew would put her in notch 8 to get up the grade. Looks like An Oakways SD60 is helping the ore trains. (I'll probably re do this picture with a better back ground if weather permits tomorrow.)
