Well, I'm not quite sure you'll find the actual "magazine," because according to their website they don't have any. They do have new/used Model Railroader "Books" for sale. (The ones that look like magazines, that are more fancy, are oftentimes just a collection of articles from the past, which go for about $20.00). See the link: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?SZE=10&WRD=model+railroader&SAT=1

Happy searching! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Alas! I was only able to get this months copy of MRR Disapprove [V]

What was the price difference?

Actually they had none of the books in stock, and I really didn't do much anything to obtain older magazine copies Sign - Dots [#dots]

Side Question

I now have the funds to buy another freight car, and I'm just cant decide what I should get (they are all really great). I have narrowed the choices down to a few and figured I would see what people think.

1) fuel car

2) box car

3) hopper car

4) gondola car

I now declare the polls open!!!

P.S. Anybody own an F7 or F3 or whichever one is on the cover of this months MRR?

Alex, I guess I missed a great railfan trip..... stupid family reunion.....Banged Head [banghead]

I'm working on the Koester Foods building on my layout....tore it down, along with the track in it. It used to hold one car, but got a lot of buisness so there was always constructive placement in effect... Now there's seperate tracks for the reefers, and the airslide hoppers. Both on a switchback!Tongue [:P] That would make a lot of work for the local though, so I gave Alex's GE 70-tonner a job switching the plant. There was already room in the schedule too, the operator of the local previously just sat around while the yard operator sorted the cars and such.

Now I just need to scratchbuild the building for it...Whistling [:-^]

Also overhauled all my frieghtcars, put a few out of service because of major operating and cosmetic flaws, including most of the cars on the rock train the 70-tonner was assigned to before. Now the rock spur is an industry.

I also ordered more crossing lights to suppliment the ones I already have. The new ones will go at the other crossing in that town, which is located behind the camera.

Tyler, I have a pair of those crossings, and I like them alot. I still think Walthers should have thought about a way to make them work plug and play for DCC. Anyways, it still works on DCC, as long as you have it hooked up to a spare power pack under the layout, set to about three volts.

How about the all purpose car? Never looks out of place.

Look like in tech I'm going to Paint my box in WC colors. lol, an obsession? I think not! Wahahahahaha. I want to get a good grade, and I thought it'd be some what of a challenge. I am going to do the front with the Nose "Tree" and shield. The sides will have the stripes with my favorite locomotive numbers. 7526, and 2500. I may take some cab pictures and laminate them to the inside of the box to make it a "cab". We'll see how much time I'll have.

I just use a 9 volt battery....Whistling [:-^] Mine are just a toggle switch, as I don't have a detection system set up.

Homework? What Homework? I smell no homework!

Its been a shirtzy day for the trains. NHN ran over two subathing girls with their sand train, Chicago El derailed, and an MBTA trolley rear ended another. They couldn't get to the motorwoman in the offending car, who died 4 hours after the incident.Sigh [sigh]
