I slept through the move, so it must have gone smoothly. Kevin, I would bet that the 5:00 p.m. time is to get people home and off the streets before dark. I'm sure the police are on alert for neer-do-wells out looking for things they're not supposed to. This photo is from about 20 years ago of the two maple trees. They are about twice this size now. Of all the trees on our property, these two put on the best autumn show: Have a good day, everyone.

i had two guitars in college, a Gibson hollow body and a Fender Jaguar. My daughter started playing, but lost interest after a few years in college so i have both guitars back.
When she started guitar class in high school, maybe middle school, the teacher, who was himself an older rocker, saw just the Jag's case and handled it with great reverence.

I used to dress up for church and other places but after living in Alaska where jeans and a flannel shirt was considered dress up I sort of left go of dressing up. Although when we went to my brother's 80th birthday celebration at an exclusive French Restaurant I had to wear a sport coat and tie.
Also remember back in the day when men wore hats everywhere and the church pews had clips to hang the hats. My father when he had to attend at the federal courthouse was required to wear a hat into the courthous.

Well, it's Sunday night and I'm sitting in my recliner watching baseball, so that means I didn't have a ladder accident. I got the rotted wood covered with some caulk, and tomorrow I'll go back up and slap a coat of paint over the whole area.
We're having rain in two days, so in the spring when I have more time, I will cut out the rotted wood and put in new. This time I'll use pressure-treated wood, which should get me through the seasons until in the nursing home or cemetery.
My Chiefs won in good fashion, which is good for me since the Saints lost Thursday night. It looks like a rough season for the Saints. I'm used to it.

Ya know John, ...Maybe I had the right idea when I was a young lad. The majority of my friends were old guys back when I was a Kid at the resort. Those friends had more interesting stories to tell.
Up in the wilderness there ain't too many people around anyway. Especially after tourism season came to an end and isolation sickness set in
Before our resort, we would stay at Leo Nessers resort On Mille Lacs. He taught me how to caulk and fillet fish. I couldn't wait to go up and see my old friend Leo in the spring. He spent more time with me teaching me things in one given weekend than my mom and step dad ever did ever.
In the spring he had a whole case of caulk and I would go through it with him caulking the old Wooden Launch and schmoozing that stuff with my finger like he taught me before we put the paint on. I think that caulk was the only thing that held that whole boat together
Your schmooze job will hold ya together for a year. Hit it again next year! Leo and I always did.
P.S. Your best caulk is OSI QUAD. It's a polyurethane sealant. If the correct preparation is made removing all the loose and rotten wood. And a good polymer is used like JB Weld wood restore. OSI is better than wood.
Make sure you wear latex gloves unless you want a really bad stomach ache though!

Tried to sleep an hour or so ago but it just ain't working for me again like some other nights.
Sleep deprivation, insomnia, sleep apnea? I just call it old age and inconsistent sleeping patterns anymore that kinda sucks
My whole life my seasonal work dries up in the fall sometimes. I always like something to do even though I'm comfortably semi-retired and don't have to work.
How do you like your job at Home Depot Kevin? I'm thinking of a part-time job for the Winter as I like to feel some self worth and a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.
Last Winter I took the Winter off and I didn't have any of that sence of accomplishment at the days end and it bummed me out.
Do you like your job? I've worked hard construction all my life but don't like working so hard anymore and wonder if I'd like working at Home Depot as I'm familiar with every product in the store.
I'm seriously thinking about winding down but I always like having something to do.

Good Morning Diners. How on earth is it Monday morning already?!? Such a fast weekend. Played in a Euchre tournament Friday night. They start with a pot luck beforehand and there was a nice spread! The hosts have it at the local American Legion, which is nice as they have plenty of space and a bartender. That put me home about 11:30 Friday night. Left the house Saturday Morning at 9:00 to head out of town for a pair of soccer games for my youngest. Got home about 10:00pm. Sunday, got up and worked on getting outdoor stuff put away for winter, went to a birthday lunch for my nephew, then hit the road to bring my oldest home for a couple days. She has a doctor appointment Tuesday I will be taking her to before taking her back to school. By the time we got home last night, ate dinner, and set up her new phone, it was almost time for bed. Looking at the calendar for the rest of the year, I have two free weekends between now and January, and I'm on call for one of them, so who knows if it will actually be a free weekend or not. Ugh!
Hope everyone has a good day today. I'm off to the rat race.

Waiting for Hobby Lobby to open up so I can go get sumore paint. But I think I just remember-red, Hobby Lobby is closed on Monday. I certainly didnt want to go to Wallmart for those cheap craft paints today.

I love it normally, but since the Hurricane it has been very difficult to remain positive and upbeat.
I did not think I would like working with kids, but I was wrong. They are all (for the most part) wonderful, and I really enjoy them. They call me their "work-dad" now. I like that.

I always took my Grandson Anthony down there to build the projects with him and then he always had me take him across highway 18 to White Castle because he just had to have the square cheeseburgers.
That consisted of my Saturday morning till noon for years. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything Kevin and wish I could have those days back again!

Good Afternoon,
We had salmon last night with a maple soy sauce done on a cedar plank in the BBQ. It was really good. It came all ready to go.
I was having a problem with my SW8 cutting out. Tried cleaning track and wheels but had to take the side frames off the trucks and clean the axle ends and pickups. Solved the problem. I was afraid the QSI board was acting up but all is ok.
Getting the bivalent booster tomorrow.
