Just remember guys, Harley don't sell bikes. They sell the ability for middle aged accountants etc to dress up in tight leathers and denims and travel the length and breadth of their area scaring the **** out of little old ladies etc.
Hey MM, welcome[;)]
Cheers,
Kim

And as is said around here, anything other than a Harley is a "rice burner." [:D][:D]

Ian , he did say it was a biker nickname, not a product nickname, to me that means he can spell it any dam way he pleases...who are we to complain?

I'd say you'd burn tea in da triumph, but only after it was well laced with that golden liquid from the northern part of the isles!

Walt,
Yes, all other motorcycles are certainly quieter than Harleys! Did you know Harley has trademarked their "sound?" They had to give it a name, so they said it was a "potato" sound. That makes me laugh! Driving an expensive machine that makes a potato sound!

I must say, I m impressed with all these replies, to each his own I ve always said. Let s see, I ve spelled my name Marlboro Man at the beginning, and not Marlborough, to my good friend in Ian. As for the loud mufflers, it s a choice of each owner to do so, they are illegal even up here in Quebec, and only put them on for bike weekend shows; It does entice the horsepower because there is no exhaust flow reduction; Boom boxes, Hey got one in my car too, 2000 watts of window punching sound, as well as a smoke machine, laser and stroboscope, all together joined with rope lights, Won alot of car show trophies with this one. I ve donw it because it has never been done before, flooding your car with smoke with a full feature laser light show all in the interior, but best viewed from outside. I like to innovative and create and form new ideas, but thats not why I m on this forum. I just want to learn more about G scale trains. Again Thanks for your warm welcome!!!!!!!! Harley is truly indeed the the world s best Vibraatoor!!!!!! And now back to trains!!!!!

When i was a young man I had a mate who owned a "Rang Dang" I had a few rides on it and I was discussing it with some one quite recently and they asked me what a "Rang Dang" was. I amazed that no one knew what they were. This terminology was in common use amongst my mates in the fifties and I thought it was in wide use but I think I was wrong.

Well I can feel your curiosity on my back it was a BSA (Beezer) Bantam 250 cc 2 stroke motor bike and its exhaust went rang dang dang dang dang as you throttled back, hence the name.
