Well, that means we have to launch a full scale investigation to get Otis's real name !! Maybe someone here will know !!
Huzzah and hello to you from his Highness, the Rail-King! 'Tis again Sunday, and time for the weekly Royal Photographic Update.

Hello, howdy, greetings, bonjour, hola, aloha, guten dag, et cetera...
I noticed this propaganda all over the kingdom. Which one of you's been pinning these up???
See you next time! This is the Rail-King, over and out!
JOHN JELECTRIC - Both engines are about the same size. The track on the right is slightly higher than the left track.

Buckeye, Check out some of the pin striping tapes, they are great for simulated banding on pallets & crates, etc.
As usual great photos.

John : Jeffelectric, yes, it was the little oil tank by the tower I painted silver !! That was a big job painting that !! ( about 1 minute )
Just got back from Wallyworld with a new Cobra !! Only a couple bucks !!
Thanks everyone for sharing your photos.
They were all GREAT !!!
Especially the young boy on the carpet. Brings back memories.
BTW....It wasn't Chief....on the carpet.
John,
The Blue Comet is beautiful!!! But, where did you get the overhead lines for the interurbans? Did you make these??
I am planning to purchase the Lionel South Shore, as soon as it's shipped, (July; sigh) these would be a perfect addition.
Kurt
PS The new photo makes you look like a man of liesure!
Great shots, everyone!!! Here a few station shots!!
ATSJer,
Don't sell yourself short on how spartan your layout is. We all have to start somewhere. I got back into model railroading back in December when I too purchased to Polar Express set. I had all of my dads old Lionel postwar trains sitting in boxes down in my basement waiting for me to catch the train bug. I bought the Polar Express set for under the christmas tree, and the rest as they say is history. My son just turned 2 last Friday, and the joy he showed when I first set up the train under the tree convinced me that I needed to jump into model trains with both feet.
Over the past 2 weeks I have been posting pictures of my basement layout progress. I have all of the track setup, and am now moving into the landscaping and accessory phase of constuction. I have been having a ball building the layout, and my son loves watching the trains run around the new layout in his basement.
I truly look forward to sharing this experience with him throughout his childhood, and hopefully into his adulthood. Keep us posted on your progress.

Here are my father's engines on his display, its still waiting for him to retire before it takes on a real life of its own.
Beautiful pics everyone, your layouts are beautiful, mine is somewhat more spartan in apperance compared to the rest; I guess a 40x60 oval is about as spartan as you can get. But, I'm extremely new to model railroading, and I just got my first train this week, so these are my first official pics. I'm hoping that they are the first of many more to come. I know they are not much, but I'm proud of it. Humble but full of promise.

JOHN JELECTRIC, nice pics of Blue Comet. Like the cat system.
Where did you get the rubber ducky? does it improve reception?
laz57
As promised a few more pics of the Blue Comet.
BTW, I see Lionel has a Blue Comet in American Flyer in the new catalog. Don't know if it new or not as I don't normally follow American Flyer, just happened to notice it.
And a pic of the rubber ducky antenna on the CAB1. It seems to work just fine.
I enjoyed everyone elses pictures today.
Laz, Nice ballast job, really improves the layout.
Perry, I always enjoy pictures of your layout.
zwbob, That is an interesting flat car load, layout looks nice.
Chief, That is a lot of coal, hope you got a quantity discount on all those loads.
David, That ore car has charactor & BB looks in top form as usual.
SK, You are making nice progress, probably having a supervisor on the stool helps keep you going.
Tom, Lot of nice PUs, Is the K-line K4 larger than the Lionel? It looks that way in the pictures.
John, Is it the fuel oil tank by the tower that you painted? I was looking for a large oit storage tank & thought you posted the wrong picture.
Buckeye, That Industrial Rail car looks nice, one of the LHSs has started to stock them. Will have to check them out.

Perry,
Great layout. Makes me think of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyworld. Amazing level of detail.
Nice pictures all. Here's a few of mine to add to the fun...
