If I remember correctly that was me.

Thanks fife - I am freelancing my butt off on this one.
It's not really a coaling tower, more like an add-on to the factory, on which I might install some winches to simulate unloading vertically. I probably violated so many regulations and prototype mumbo-jumbo with this it ain't even funny. Luckily, on my railroad, I get to make the rules - including building right over the right-of-way.

I had missed it until I saw a number of references to it, so here is another in a long line of well deserved compliments:
w-o-w!
as an aside - loved the music - if you don't like Take The A Train, you probably don't like ice cream either.

So many roads, so little time.
Nice photos everyone.
RAIL KING - as one of your loyal subjects, I agree that those paper-hanging wags must be scurged! Make me your Sergeant At Arms, and I will muster the townsfolk with pitchforks and torches...
Jon, fantastic video. I have been waiting for you to get some more updated photos with all the work you and your bride did, but I think the video really brings it all together. Thanks. By the way, my bride is next to me and watched it too. I think you have set the bar much higher for me. Thanks to you and all the folks who have posted.

Buckeye,
If you have black electrical tape, just cut some into thin strips and use that to simulate the hold down straps.

CSX JOHN, nice video, what do you have running? They sound cool.
Thanks Laz !! That engine with all the smoke was my MTH 2-8-0 P & LE . The other engine was the Lionmaster Challenger. I forgot to turn the smoke on, on that one though it smokes pretty good, not like the other one. Videos are hard to make without help !! Plus, Downloading it on Photo bucket took over an hour. It wouldn't load on You-Tube !
Good one on Otis Redding !!
I placed this on the layout - still need to figure out how I want to paint the main building:
Jon,
All I can say is WOW! Great layout. There is so much going on I had to watch the video twice. Keep up the great work.

Hello All:
Here is a late addition. I modified a small wooden table that will serve as home to my transformers, electric switches, control panel, etc.

The Lionel K4 is a semi-scale engine I have had for a few years. It is smaller than the K-Line scale K4s but not by a lot. When I first saw the two engines side-by-side I didn't think Charlie's engine was a full scale engine. I also have two of the K-Line scale K4s engines but had never had the Lionel next to either of them. I really thought my scale K4s engines were longer.
Great Sunday Photos guys. Y'all amaze me with the detail and engines/rolling stock ya have.
Wow, A lot of nice pictures.
Laz, The rubber ducky doesn't improve reception, but it keeps the grandkids from poking each others eyes out and wiping out my scenary.
Kurt, The catenary is made by MTH.
Jim, Yes It is in the new Lionel catalog.
Blue Comet Train Set Sometimes seen racing airplanes en route along the edge of the ocean, the New Jersey Central Blue Comet holds a near mythical status among railfans and railroaders. The train only ran from 1929 to 1941 when relentless competition from the Pennsylvania Railroad and massive proliferation of the automobile brought a premature end to the "Symphony in Blue." An add-on heavyweight passenger car 2-Pack is available separately.

As usual great photos.
Good idea. I have seen some real narrow tapes in the LHS that I think they use for masking.
Highrail Jon, love the MTH weathered station. How did you do the weathering?
Great photos and a variety of subjects, which makes it much more interesting.

This project has been my backbreaker - last structure I need to finish before I can finish the top level:
Am using plasticstruct angles and straights to define the floors, which will be represented to be concrete pillars and slabs, with brick work between floors.
Got one side done, and will be glad to get this step finished.
Added 1/8 styrene frames around the windows, which provides a better fit.
Got them painted and placed, and finished the concrete trim up the left side:
Although not evident in these photos, all twelve windows - six on this add on structure and six on the main building - all have crosshatch "bars" in teh windows. What a pain that was:
