Hogwarts Express is "on sale" on a lot of sites for about $220 to $230, which I guess is a small markup, say cost + 10 percent, for most of these guys. It is a great set and a steal at that price, BTW. I keep thinking about buying another one to repaint.... But, I have a lot of other stuff to do first.
Bruce - very well said! I hope that Chief will make a new Coffee Pot when the calender flips over to 2008.
Bill - I think I need to let out my belt another notch to allow for all this bandwidth I'm hogging....

Now don't get me wrong, the forum is a great resource and I usually welcome input from every member. However, when a person starts posting that frequently, and their name keeps popping up over and over, across many different threads, after a while you start to feel like you are being SPAMMED. Nor am I suggesting that every single post has to deal with trains, either. In fact, most of my own posts, such as this one, have dealt with broader topics. And, I am a big fan of the "Coffee Pot", which historically has dealt with topics of a more personal nature. However, 35 posts by one member in one day... that is going overboard. Let's face it, internet bandwidth and web hosting don't come cheap, and I'm sure it costs the publisher a good chunk of money each month to maintain the "trains.com" web site, even with the limited ad revenue that the site generates. As evidence of this, didn't the OGR forum owners raise the possibility of imposing a fee for forum usage a while back? Who knows, perhaps cutting back on gratuitous postings by the forum hogs might just save the publisher of CTT enough money to pay for a few extra pages of substantive content in the magazine each month. Look, there is nothing wrong with friends wanting to chat with each other throughout the day. I know, I've raised two teenage girls, and teenagers just love IM'ing their friends constantly, whenever their computers are turned on. However, the forum hogs that I am referring to are not teenage girls. Therefore, I make this simple request. If you are a forum member, and you have this uncontrollable urge to send somebody a message every fifteen minutes, please do it via your own personal e-mail and save some of the forum's limited bandwidth for the other 46,000 of us who wish to use it for its intended purpose. Thank you.

Back from the mall. Saw a lot of stores completely empty or with going out of business sales in progress. Didn't see any Hogwarts Express sets in Sears or Macys.

Afternoon all!
Cloudy and cool here. Was reading with interest the new vs old transformer subject generated by the CTT article on new ones. Was good to see Bob's old 107 again, which I think up until recently was standard equipment used on death row. I hope all these new power sources become very popular and keep driving down the prices on the old, unsafe and unreliable Bakealite I buy. It's making it easier to afford a complete collection of them.

Morning everyone,
Laz, What road name did you order? I paid 500 at York about a year ago for one in CNJ so you got a great deal. BTW, mine runs great and smokes like an MTH engine.
That's the way deer hunting goes. I don't hunt anymore but used to always see tons of deer in squirel season and lots of squirels in deer season.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
Cool and cloudy. Kind of quiet , here, today .

If you are using IE7 with an older computer or an older version of XP, there are some reported gremlins. I tried it last year on an older computer and the display was strange. Now that I use a much newer computer, it works fine.
Chief...I'm glad you are having such beautiful weather. Again, thanks for the nice gift.

Do you mean this Caboose thread, John?
Good morning from New England.
Just finished watching Thomas with the kids. Love the scenery in that series. Today's episode was one I haven't seen before.
Been up most of the night with a sick John John. He has a bad cold and couldn't sleep. Therefor, I couldn't sleep. So I just sat and held him.
Busy day today. Errands and then a dinner party to attend. No time for trains.
Time for some caffiene...

Good evening all,
It was rainy and cold in SE Indiana. Went to Bloomington to see wife's nephew before he goes to the "Sandbox". We did some shopping and I got a train calendar and a US Women's national soccer team calendar (gearing up for the Olympics). I have also been reading my Christmas gift of a book on the Monon. Although it had trackage rights into Chicago and Louisville, only Indiana land contained tracks that it owned. Some of the the original route still exists although none of it in Indy. Ironically there has been talk of a light rail system from Indy to Carmel and the Monon route would have been a good way to go, but now it is a nature trail. I did go to the YMCA for weights and some slow track work. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
