Good Morning All,
Just wanted to warn all of you folks inthe lower 48 to get ready. The weather is supposed to warm back up to around zero F (from -40°F) in the next couple of days. That mean we will be sending a cool breeze to the south to be enjoyed by everyone. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we have for the past few days. Stuff starts breaking at -40 to - -50 so I am glad to see the temps warm back up for a while.
OPINION NEEDED— CALLING ALL OPINIONS:
I am going to building some wall mounted train display cases in a few weeks and I have have not decided on just how to set the trains on the shelves. Who votes using track mounted to the shelves and who votes for simply running the shelves through the router table a dadoing a couple of grooves the width of the track for the trains to sit in? Lets hear those thoughts folks
Regards from the Freezer! Kevin T.
Now I understand the picture of Frank building his layout on the cover of Field & Stream.
Oh, NO...................
You mean that Chiefie will be on the cover of my favorite, treasured Magazine....CTT.
In a boat, fishing with GRITS as bait....
Hey Buckeye....
Good morning from a cold and sunny Chicago where I share a CTT every Tues evening with the conductor of my late night scoot (he's a C&NW old head and a blast to speak with). Can't wait to get that March issue to see the cover. I feel like I am keeping plates in the air like those circus performers I used to watch on TV -- with three classes and regular work. But I'm not complaining - I like the work. One more day 'til Dennis' real birthday

Morning all
Cool but sunny. Plan on final sanding on the bookcase and maybe stain. Picking up more glass shelves I had cut. If I have more shelf space, does that justify more trains?!?!? I've got a lot of reading to get done before class this weekend, glad I'm off till Thursday nightshift.
Prayers for the health of all
Jim
Morning all!
Don B - thanks for thr tips. I am unsure if I will get any time available, but if I do I will look up the train park. That sounds interesting!
Heading out for another loooooooonnnnnng day.
New laptop is kind of acting up - took about 10 minutes after Windows booted for the Destop icons to appear - great. If this thing bombs that means another 2 days recovering
Off to the Western Dining car!
Regards, Roy

Jim, That makes at least two of us. We always used at the office as that is what our computer guy prefered. I am using Trend Micro on this computer, but recently have been recomending Avast to friends and family. The mags give it a high rating and it is FREE.
Good morning to everyone.
Temps here are 35 on the back porch, 38 in the pond and 62 in the greenhouse. Little flurry activity but nothing on the ground. Only predicted to go to 39 so I guess winter is finally here.
Don, Got your new layout plan via email, will review it after breakfast, looks good at first glance.
BTW, got the TCA quarterly and it has an interesting article about a young man who flew to the York Show from New Zealand! Only 23 so he couldn't rent a car & had to get rides to the show from his motel with fellow TCA members.
Guess I'll join Chuck in the dinning car.
Hey y'all (I think that's Southern..I've been here waaaay too long)
I left the house today and it was a cool 39, getting to 57. Back home that was spring weather!
Been really "swamped" at work, 'specially with this gator nonsense. Can we get back to hockey now? Picked up a MTH flat with fire engine (to go with my rescue train). I never thought selling my Hot Wheels would be profitable, but it is!!! I wonder if I can trade the rest for trains stuff?
Have a great day all!! 2 more days until Saturday!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It's a snow covered 27 degrees here. About an inch. Going up to 35 today, with a few flurries.
Today is grocery shopping day. Love that job. The prices just keep going up. No one talks about gasoline prices anymore, because there is nothing you can do about it.
Belated, but here....Happy Birthday, Dennis
Dining Car has rolled in and is well stocked. Breakfast. Later
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck
HI GIZ,
Got about a quarter inch of the white STUFF this morning at about 27 degrees. A little greasy here on the roads.
All have a good one.

Good morning all,
It is (will be) sunny and cold in SE Indiana with temps in the 30s today. At least with the sun out, it does not seem so bad. I talked to the people at the YMCA about reffing indoor soccer games. The pay is not that great, but they throw in the membership as well. Heck, running up and down half a basketball court and watching a game beats a treadmill any time of the day. I may even get Lucas to sign up for it as well. Blueberry Hill, "Points West" left some breakfast for you in the dining car. I have managed to read most of the March CTT by now. It sure is a good issue :-) Now I scan the ads for some bargains. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Just think Chief tomorrow you can get back to your normal breakfast grits grits and more grits. No more maple syrup for you.
Morning all another nice day here it 35 outside and were suppose to hit a high of 45. Its suppose to feel like 29 with wind.
Dang bet Chief ain't use to it that cold where hes at its got to be right down frigid to him .
Well time to get ready for work you all have a good day

Happy Birthday Dennis
Roy, If you have time there is a really interesting Swap Meet in East Mesa. It is out on the far side of town, exit 183 I believe. they have interesting stuff! When I was there the Train Museum and Park in Scottsdale had just opened for the season. They have a nice series of layouts including a High Rail, and HO as well as some live steam. Also worth the time.
Preparring for a 30 degree DROP in temperature in the next 36 hours! Crazy weather.
Gest wishes to all!
Don
Another day done in Mesa, AZ and another day closer to getting home.
Dennis -
Glad to see Buckeye posted after last night. We were a bit worried...
Meetings from 8 am until 8 pm today and same for the next two days
At least things are going well.
Have a great day all tomorrow!
John - be careful out there.
Good news is there is a pretty good train show in Plano TX at the Plano Civic Center this weekend. Some good operating layouts and toy train venders typically there. Good show for kids
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
tschmidt wrote:Hello everyone,It seems like forever since I've been here...or at least a few months. I haven't taken much time with the trains lately and that includes being on line. The new job started in September and just seems to occupy all my time. ....
Tom Schmidt - good to see you back on the forum. I had looked for you and thought maybe the new job was consuming much of your time. How is the new job? Sounds like a great trip to South Africa.
Work for me has been pretty busy too, not much time for the forum other than reading the Coffee Pot. Sometimes on the weekend I'll catch up on the other threads.
Take care,
Mitch

Happy birthday Dennis!
Jim Fortner, Never posted a layout plan, I keep changing things. Will try to update it.
Dis more wiring. Got the 64 log loader up and working, along with the 787 log loader, hooked up a few unloading pieces of track, and hooked up magnetic gantry crane. All working good.
JELECTRIC, nice job on the "cat system", looks great. Did you get that at YORK?
Have agood nite.

John Baker - good luck on your test!
My "allowance" doesn't come until Friday and all these cars I was watching on Ebay are going going gone without me :( Oh well, more where they came from. I am thinking of getting that making an O gauge layout dvd and a toy train layout wiring book, too. if anybody has seen that new dvd that they were advertising around here, let me know if it's any good. Apparently it includes a bonus video from their old vhs video?
Anybody else see the toy train set on Robot Chicken the other night? Unspeakable!
Couldn't get on yesterday. Had to update Norton Internet Security and Systemworks on 2 computers and it took until 11PM just to get to a stopping place so I could go to bed. I hate Norton, but they are the best product so - oh well, get over that!
Jefelectric - I am super impressed with your layout - you need to post (or repost if I missed it) your plan and more pics!

Dennis :we also just had two carman,( freight car repairman) killed in yards up in N.Y. One drove a truck over a crossing in the yard & was struck by an eng. & same with another guy one week after that other guy. This guy was in one of those JD gators. Seems like they come in spurts. That's the bad part of these jobs. Worse years ago.
Oh, & have fun on your day off & !!
