Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold and sunny 20 degrees. Frost. Going up to 43 today with some sunshine. Cloudy later.

Today, I will be testing out all of the outside Christmas tree lights and replacing bad bulbs. I may put a couple of strings up. Tomorrow I will finish up. Lots of work. No time for trains today. Well, maybe an hour later, I will run them.

Where is Buckeye ??????  No word from him. Last seen in NC. Hmmm...

Dining Car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & a tropical 28 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  I think Fifey's wifey wants to go Christmas shopping today.  I'd like to plaster my scenery.  She may win this round.

All I've got to say is,

Do you know how hard it was not talking about my layout being published in CTT...?!!!  I mean, this all started a year ago this month.Big Smile [:D]

Only my family and a select few buddies knew of this, and they were sworn to secrecy with a blood-letting ceremony and everything...

And it all started right here on the CTT forums with my entry "The Britains are coming!"  It was an enjoyable project, and it was very thrilling to receive my Contributor's copy for JAN '08.  I am very thankful for the opportunity.

So, my Coffee Pot sisters and brethern, keep posting those layout photos.  You truly never know who will be looking them over.Wink [;)]

Good morning everyone,

Congrats Fife. Sadly, I don't get CTT so I don't think I will be able to check it out anytime soon.

Thanksgiving was good here. We had people over, and last night we went to my cousin's house. I have to start taking pictures of the Christmas decorations, so when the thread is started, I will have something to show.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning all.  Don and Doug W., hope the winds do not breed fires.  Dougsnotagrump, congrats on the new truck.  Post some photos.  Don, read on OGR where a guy sent his Big Boy back to Lionel and it is already back and working great.  Had sound board problems.  Sent them email and told them to hold your 'til the last. Evil [}:)]

Got my Jan. CTT yesterday too.  Was reading right along until I got to page 70.  Went to sleep it was so boring. Zzz [zzz]Whistling [:-^]

Buckeye' letter was funny.

Speaking of Buckeye, I think we might have gotten him away from the ant hill and sending him back up NAWTH. Laugh [(-D]  He should drop in any time now.

Later.

Morning lads and lasses - COLD in St. louis!  Slept in late and feeling great.  Sir James, sorry I wasn't awake when you stopped by, but glad you found the pie!  Chewy told me it was you that finished it off.  Funny, she was off her food this morning, just sort of lay there rubbing her tummy...?

Morning all!

Got my new CTT yesterday and there is the Fifedog on Page 70-75 (5 pages - wow) with a great looking layout and a peek from behind the mailbox photo! Great job Fife!

Had a great Thanksgiving here. Went to SIL's house and dined with the wfe's side of the family. Relaxed to the Cowboys win over the Jets.

Cowboys and Packers meet Thursday night. Only one of them walks away with an 11-1 record! Go Cowboys!

Don - check your e-mail when you get a chance.

Light rain here and is expected to continue through tomorrow. Low 40's for high next couple of days.

Did some Christmas shopping with the missus yesterday and got a 46 inch Sony LCD (1080P - I have no idea what we are gonna do with all them "P's") for the big family gift this year.

Regarding Buckeye's disappearance - After years of Buckeye buying all those trains, I heard that Mrs. Buckeye gave him a Christmas ultimatum this year and that she expected something special for herself, something that did 0-100 in 5 seconds or less or he would be sleeping by the outdoor G scale layout. She found an early Christmas gift this week, a festively wrapped box in the driveway. When she unwrapped it, inside was a bathroom scale. Unfortunately Buckeye has not been heard from since....

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Good afternoon from a sunny, windy and cold Crystal Lake where I spent a 'delightful' morning replacing my mailbox which someone took - pole and all- late last evening. What a pain. Picked up the new car last night - boy, they sure try to up-sell you on every little thing. Then in the middle of a nice dinner, the daughter called with more hysterics about her breaking-up-with-her boyfriend. I sure am tired of high school drama and this is only my first one. Finally, put up the tree with the youngest - he's ready for Santa to come now.

Missed the Jan. CTT - I hope my sub didn't run out without my looking... want to see Fife's famous layout. Looking forward to Jim A's too next month.

You are absolutely right, Roy. Last year Buckeye bought the Mrs. a vacuum cleaner, that was shaped like a locomotive. It even had a whistle. That did not go over too big either.

Evening All,

Its been very cold here today. Did not get time to start painting the walls in the gamesroom.

Mrs Nick12DMC and Charlie wanted to go Christmas tree shopping. Found a nice 7ft pre-lit artificial tree at B&Q. Then got all the Christmas dec's down from the loft and started putting them up. You will pleased to know that Charlie has his Lionel Berk Jnr running around the tree and I have set up the Nutcracker gatemen that arrived too late for last year. We have a nice train including the 2005 & 2006 Holiday cars and the Operating egg nog milk car. We added the 101 Dalmatian operating gondola for some more actionSmile [:)].

Just got to find some Spangler candy canes to finish off the tree.....

Have a good afternoon/evening

Nick

Howdy - I've been doing laundry all day and finishing off some books and watching movies and basically just being a slug.  Sir James, all pie gone now, but we still have weightwatchers icecream and cookie dough treats if you like?

Doug, that stinks about your mailbox!

Fifedog, love your layout!

Nick, sounds like a great Christmas layout to me!

Evening all,

evening Brutus, A milk bone sounds good, guess the curse is not entirely gone. Had an ice cream cone still full from thur. and your pie last nite. we did have fun running your trains too.

No trains here today as we finished redoing the kitchen. I helped with the wallpaper, did the measureing, kept the lines straight, trimmed the edges, think I could do it now but of course I don't want to. I'll drop back in a little while,    Sir James

Evenin' All.

Don,

I went for the Nissan Crew Cab, not the hi-end model, just enuff stuff to make it pleasant to drive(you know, the creature comforts us old guys like). Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

That tree trimming fine really sucks, IMHO just another example of PC run amuck. When I requested a quote from this guy it was so much better than I expected there was absolutely no hesitation on my part.

Doug,

What's the chances of the daughter's ex snatching the mail box ?

The grandson was out today and he loves the new & improved Christmas layout. His first comment when he saw the tunnel entrances was "Look !". He has turned into a bigger train nut then his grampa. Big Smile [:D] Approve [^]

You know, Doug, that never occured to me - good idea. I'm currently rigging up a night-vision video camera to record out the mailbox 'scene' at the end of the driveway - I think the tape's good for 4 hours. Boy, this looks crazy in print. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] Should be a good experiment at least.

Maybe you need to wire the mailbox so that when it is "removed" it releases a small electric shock to the perp?  Maybe Lionelsoni could help you out?

Good evening all,

Congrats to Fifedog on the article!!  Very nicely done.  The one picture looked almost like a scene out of a catalog.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold, clear 19 degrees. Going up to 51 today, with lots of sunshine.

Today, I will be working on the tree decorating outside. I got 4 done yesterday, and they look good. Have 6 more to do. Big ones. I have to put the top ones on with a long pole. About 15 feet tall. But, it's worth it. They look nice at night.

No train time today. I need some time in the train room. Still have to work on the scenery.

Dining car is here. Breakfast is served.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Morning all,

Clear and a cold 28 F.  At work and assignments passed out.  Last day of train show I'm missing.  I've not talked to my friend yet to see how things went.  Hope they take pictures.

Bride's family (40 + people) was at our house for Thanksgiving dinner yesterday.  By the time I got off and home it was after 8 p.m. and most of the clan was gone and just had to clean up and take borrowed tables and chairs back down to church.  Low key evening in a way.

Hope all have a safe Sunday

May God bless
