Hello again everyone,

In a couple of weeks he goes back to the oncologist and we will be given a course of action.  Exactly what that will entail we are not sure.

Thank you again for all your support and everyone have a great weekend.

Evening all.  Home with the boys.  Wife and MIL have gone to Wilmington to visit the Youngest.  Cooked country style steak and gravy.  Have to heat and do mashed potatoes.  Dinner [dinner]  Then train time.  Approve [^]

Mom is home and happy.  Doing OK.  Found out she was taking two asprin each night and was NOT suppose too.  That is why she was bleeding.  Took her asprin and brought them home.  She can have Tylenol per DR.  Bought her a big bottle so she will be OK.

Gee, I thought all the snow in South Bend, Indiana was directly related to that sucking sound that is emmited from the local university on the north side.  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] Sucks that snow right out of Chicago and into South Bend.

BTW, some of the best small mouth bass fishing is in the St. Joseph River in South Bend.

Thanks Buckeye.

I got to spend one winter working between Buffalo and West Orange NJ on a special MCI project. Four wheel drive Bronco's with toothed chains for the front wheels was the order of the day. Snow falls a foot or two at a time.

Roy, you asked earlier about Tom S and the snow.  The current big NY snows are east of him near Oswego, NY.  Tom lives near Jamestown and has about 3 feet on the ground not 8 feet.  Lake Erie is frozen over, so unfortunately Tom will not be getting more lake effect snow unless it is fueled by Lake Huron or Lake Ontario.  Here in Central Ohio, we sometimes see lake effect snow from Lake Michigan.

For you folks that have not experienced lake effect snow, it can be truly amazing.  Dangerous white outs are common.  The depths of snow received can vary wildly in less than 10 miles. I have seen one inch of snow a mile from Lake Erie and then 18" of snow 7 miles inland from the same storm.

1st car - '66 gold Plymouth Belvedere II - 4 door econobox with the mighty 276 cu in solid pushrod V8. World's best AC - would send frost out the vents with that old Chrysler twin V compressor. Bought it from my dad (great deal). 2nd car - (also from dad in a trade) '70 red Plymouth Satellite with 383. Drove to San Antonio from Houston at 110 on I-10 all the way. I still have my gas book I kept - averaged about 6 -10 mpg - but gas was around $0.20 - 0.25/gal. 3rd car - 1968 Corvette conv w/327 - had this for around 10 years until I totalled it (if you're not slidin' you're not drivin'). Ah those were the days!

Cold here again. Son scored 8 points in B-Ball tournament game last night.

Ah, first car a 1973 Dodge Charger SE with a base 318 V8. I got it in a church auction when I was 16. It had been garaged and had only 23,000 miles on it.  I bid all the money I had in the world: $300 and won it as the only bidder. Then I had to call my dad...

Got it up to 120 mph on the twisty-turney Merrit Parkway late one night...

My current fav is a 1986 Hyundai Accent with no air, radio or wheel covers and 98,000 miles on it that somehow takes me to the train station and back each day. How I've moved down in the world...

A Canuck in Hicksville, Ohio ???  You didn't travel that far to drink in a bar in Hicksville, Ohio.  If it was Labor Day Weekend, you were there for the Classic Car Show or the Kruse Auction, just south of Auburn, IN.  Did you see the parade on Labor Day?  Did you fly in the tri-motor antique airplane over the town?  What celebrities did you see at the auction?

What did you buy at the auction?  A Cord, an Auburn or a Duesenberg? Big Smile [:D]

I believe Lisa owes an apology to all the Northerners on this forum.  We were really providing Dennis with a great trip to Ohio as has been proven by our good Canadian friend, Bruce. Laugh [(-D]  We would have even thrown in a trip to Sam's in Blaksly, Ohio for steaks and Mose Hoppers, but no they had to make fun of our Buckeye hospitality. Dinner [dinner]

Speaking of Oldsmobiles, this is the only one I ever drove.  It belonged to a friend of mine. It was a super chick magnate and was a beautiful car.  We topped it out at 145 on I-65 north of Indy.  Notice the Hurst logo on the real panel.   Check out the link for more of the story.

My very first car was an old 51 or 52 Chevy. Got it when I was 15 & couldn't drive it till I was 16, but got a 57 Ford when I was 16 & got rid of the Chevy.  GTO & Corvettes came later for me !!

My first car was a 1976 Ford LTD. Got it when I was 16 and had a lot of fun in that car. I sold it and bought a 1984 Camaro Z28. Later on, I bought the 442 and restored it. I've had other cars, but these were the ones I remember fondly. I've driven a 1997 Chevy Lumina for the past 10 years. The Chief rode in it last time he was up here. I'm pretty sure he farted in the passenger seat! Phewwww!

Sounds like everyone is really busy, traveling, working caring for kids and family, work and all!  Life is exciting!

The talk of Don's El Camino, John's GTO and  seeing Bruce's Corvair, prompts me to a question.  What was your first and or favorite car or truck?

My first car was a 1961 Oldsmobile  Dynamic 88;  my favorite is my current truck, a 1996 GMC 2500 diesel

Just back from Dr. Tinker's house. He's going to be on Boston television tonight. Very talkative this time.  We shot the hooey for a good while, then I had to head back to work. I picked up a 2056 and left off a 2055. Also got some flexible pickup wire, some Lubriplate grease, and a smoke element for our 2037. That should be interesting.

Cold pizza for lunch today.

Good morning from a brisk Chicago where it is 8 and feels like 4 below. Looks like I will get some train time in tonight as the bride is having her girlfriends over for a sort of Valentine's day dinner and that banishes me and the boys. So I'll take them out for pizza and then we'll play in the basement.  Have a good flight, Marty.

What is so funny about a all expense paid weekend in Hicksville, Ohio? Confused [%-)] Hicksville is located on the  mainline of the B&O/Chessie/CSX from Cleveland to Chicago.   Just a few miles north in Edgerton, OH, Dennis can take in the mainline of the NYC/PC/CR/NS.

BTW, in the movie, "Follow that Bird", Big Bird travels through Hicksville, Ohio.  Doesn't that make it famous?

Marty, the railroad museum in Sacromento is great!
