Hello all,

Busy day today in the office.  Trying to cram all this week and two days next weeks worth of work before a little time off.  The Fiance and I are heading down to Central Texas to visit my parents for Easter.  Driving down so that I can bring back my childhood Lionel trains.  Woohoo....I can't wait to see them again.  Oh...I also can't wait to see my parents Smile [:)]  It's a long drive....but the Sirius radio helps make the long boring stretch through Kansas and OK a little easier.

This morning we woke up to about 5 inches of snow. Keep in mind that our high on Sunday was in the low 70's and the forecast temp for this coming weekend is back in the mid 60's.  I won't say we don't need the moisture...I just like it to fall in the form of rain.  I'm just over the snow.

Got my May issue of CTT today.  Also received a couple of beautiful boxcars I won on ebay.  Anyway...I'm going to go run my train for a little while.  Talk to you all later on.

You know saying you dated someone is different than saying you went on a date with someone, so my guess is you were really drunk for quite some time.  So, which Fraternity were you pledging when this took place? Wink [;)]

Good afternoon everyone,

It was a good day here. Nothing went wrong, and I hope it continues like this for the rest of the day. Lots of good grades, but one that did upset me, a 78 in history. I got 50 out of 40 for the essays ( I did the fifth one for extra credit) but I did horrible on the scantron. I wasn't too happy, but I got over it.

It's going to be a good day tomorrow, because York is here. John, I can't wait to meet you there. I'll try to get you to the dark sideWink [;)]

Talk to you all later.

Hi all,

Been busy as a one armed paper hanger.

John Thanks for the lead.  I've got an engine just like the one you posted info on.  Look on the left of the gas station.  Please help me find an old motorcycle!

Chief, pretty snazzy outfit, very becoming!

Chuck, Playing with Woo has got to be good for both of you.

Got to run

Jim

Well, you confirmed that it was an S scale firetruck Jim !! Looks good on your layout !  Yes, I'm always on the look out for S cars & motorcycles for you since you mentioned how hard they are to find a while back. BTW, I have the MTH motorcycles & if you get a chance, check them out as they look like they just might work with your layout, not sure.

Wow, some nice pictures of The Chief !!  Looks like the pendulum swung back in a battle win for the North !! I knew Buckeye had a new battle plan !!

Thanks, John

Greetings from the Bluegrass!!!

Well a little soggy here today, but not as bad as yesterday.  Last night I had the opportunity to attend a lecture by the author Jim Wallis who wrote Blatantly Religious and Political Material click at own risk.  It was a great lecture, he also spoke at our Seminary chapel today, and delivered another bang up job.  Anyways, I've got some reading to do today, tonight, and tomorrow, but I wanted to stop in for a minute.

BTW thank you Scott, the Polar Express tender arrived today, and it looks and works great.  I will post pics as soon as I transfer the lease to Pere Marquette. Wink [;)]

The Chief of course, is always elegant, eloquent and efusive while dressed in any sort of apparel including his "Grits Chef" outfit.

Don

I think you are right regarding pshaw!

Our local grist miller back in the '30s, Ab Kaiser, was quoted as saying, "aw pshaw" when he lost three fingers of his hand to a drive belt/mandrel. Probably was milling corn grits, but we never did know if they found the fingers or whether they were "packaged" for grits distribution to Yankeeland.

p.s: no siding to the Mill. they just stopped on the A&Y main and rolled handcarts up a ramp trackside to load sacks of stock feed, flour, corn meal and----grits of course!

The last American combat veteran of World War I recently passed away, on February 22nd. Howard V. Ramsey was 109 years old and lived in Oregon.

He was a corporal, and arrived in France two months before the war ended in 1918.  Ramsey drove trucks and cars, which brought him under enemy artillery fire as he delivered supplies to the front lines or drove an ambulance up to retrieve wounded troops. After the war ended on November 11, 1918, Ramsey spent seven months recovering the bodies of dead American soldiers. Ramsey was born in Colorado, and volunteered for service, as he was too young for the draft. There are still seven American World War I veterans, but none of them went overseas.

Some 4.7 million Americans served during World War I, of whom 53,513 died in combat, 63,195 died from non-combat causes, and 204,002 were wounded. The U.S. did not enter World War I until April 6, 1917. World War I cost about $100 billion, most of which was incurred after the war for care of veterans and interest on the war debt.

Our morning paper had an article about the passing of the last serviving female veteran of WWI.  Don't recall the name.

Good afternoon all,

Brent, I was about to ask why you are painting a house that is already sold, but you cleared that up for me.

Dep, Welcome back, sorry it had to be in the middle of the nignt. Smile [:)]

Dr. John, That MTH 2-8-0 is a nice little engine, I have the freight version, only difference is the crew talk.

Jim, Great picture.

Don,  This Saturday we are going to the large scale train show at York & do a little recon on the traffic situation and check out an alternate route I have in mind for Wednesday morning when we will be traveling to York durring rush hour.

Doing some cleaning and trash removal in the basement, found a few things that I had bought nad haven't seen since.

I need to make a few more display stands for the book cases.

Take care,

Actually I got to thinking about that later, and if I'm not mistaken it actually was "Pha-Shaw" or that's how my grandfather always used it.

My Dad would sometimes use the Ah-S---, term and old grandpa would ALWAYS come back with "I'm glad I don't have in my hand, what you have in your mouth"

I was using both yesterday regarding my reschedule AGAIN, as related to the train room work and delay.  Oh well!!
