Hey everybody, another clear windy and comfortable day here in "Gaator"land (is this basketball nonsense over yet?)
Fortunatly, today the NY YANKEES open up against the door mat DevilRays at the Stadium. Great time of year now. My Yanks start on the way to another pennant and my NJ Devils are in the Cup Playoffs (10 years inna row). If we can stay ahead of the pesky Pens, we'll play the hated Rangers first round...this is gonna be great!!!! Will Carolina make it? Hmmmm maybe not...
Lighted and wired my passenger & freight stations yesterday, works pretty good I think, if I can post them to the Sunday forum, I'll try (I really can't figure that img thing )

BUCKEYES or GATORS? They chooked on a football earlier this year.
Whats the word?
LAZ, we are worried if the Buckeyes get ahead 7-0, that they will quit playing as they did in January. Needless to say, the pain still lingers in Buckeyeland and I don't know if we can take more.
88 sounds good for layout construction techniqes. Remember make it high enough so you can get under it for wiring.

Good morning from beautiful Ohio, where we have a crystal blue sky and the temperature is to reach 79 degrees !!!
And much to our delight this Thursday, our wonderful protoganists of weather are predicting snow to fall.
I think it is great that the Chief is giving away his John Deere to ????????????. What a great guy?
Roy, are you driving to Chicago this summer?
After thousands and thousands of emails begging me not to move to NC, I am staying put in OHIO. Of course that warrent for my arrest in NC was the deciding factor.
See ya down the tracks,
Morning gang,
Not much going on today. Have a busy one tomorrow. I am finally off call. Been raining since yesterday, as Dr. John said, we needed it. Of course we have a well for the irrigation system, so the grass was covered, but all the trees needed a good watering. I have to get some shopping done and then I am heading home for the layout work. I have fastrack and want to re-work a few spotts to make a more smooth transition from yard to outer loop.
Chief, if Buckeye is moving in, you may have to install a larger AC unit to cool it down to OHIO cold during the summers. I doubt they will be able to handle a little southern heat. Speaking of heat, with all the talk out of Ohio, I find myself being more of a Florida Gator fan than I ever thought.
Hope everyone has a great week. I asked this several days ago and did not get a response, has anyone heard of an update on Elliot? Sure do miss him. Thanks,
dennis

Good morning from a sunny Chicago where it's supposed to be in the 60s today and tomorrow before a big freeze lasting the next ten days or so. Ah Spring! My lawn is definitely not growing. With all the kids and dogs playing on it, it's half-dirt anyway, much to the chagrin of my neighbors. Glad Chief gets a month off. Sox open the season in 4 hours. I'm wearing my cap to work today. Brent, I feel your pain - the bride recently got a couch and love-seat - I guess that's a mini-couch -- and I've had to puzzle through redoing some of the kitchen. The old couch was perfectly fine - only 20 years old.Roy, I will email you.Chuck, hope you're doing OK today.I'm having that need-to-buy-another-trolley feeling - someone talk me out of it. The Industrial Rail set by Atlas sure looks cool - http://www.atlaso.com/IR/irtrolleysets.htm

HI GIZ,
43 this morn to get to 72. Kidos at school are stocking fishies in favorite fishin hole today. Going to give em a day to adapt to water then go tomorrow after school.
88 WOW lots o work for you, kinda nuts if you ask me. Better get to YORK and take out your frustrations.
All have agood one.
Lot's on the C'Pot. Let me just say I am glad to see everyone appears to be doing well and getting those Spring projects, moving projects, home improvement projects, and MOWING projects done (Although I am surprised the Chief wasn't oiling upthe JD for Buckeye to mow the lawn after he moves in!).
Supposed to be another nice day here with clouds coming in late today for another bout of rain Tuesday/Wednesday, but it is already clouding up. So about 70 and cloudy today.
Doug - yeah - we agree the prices are a bit outrageous - but they do include bus tranportation and lunch (at least that is my story and I am sticking to it). If you happen to be in town that week as we get closer to the event, let me know and we can figure out how to meet. There will be a nice layout display for the convention that will be in the hotel lobby (Wed - Sat) and no charge to see it.
Dr. John - nice find on that loco. You'll like it. Glad the rain we sent your way is doing some good. I'll send some more later this week.
Have a great day all!

Morning from a cloudy, rainy, central Alabama. (Woohoo! ) The rain is sorely needed. More of it to come this week.
Well, eldest daughter is officially engaged. She and fiance stopped by yesterday to show off her ring. (Younger daughter said she should have held out for a bigger diamond! ) Actually, it was a bit over a karat, so Joel better put in some overtime to pay off the rock before the wedding in June of '08.
Chief, your Johnny Popper would look very nice by my Snapper. Maybe Mrs. Dr. John would be willing to drive it around. She says the Snapper is too hard to handle??? I'll even pay for the shipping!
Picked up a Reading RailKing 2-6-0 w/ protosmoke and locosounds off the 'bay yesterday for under $100. Third RK purchase in a week. Got hooked by the smoke and sounds. And no, I'm not parting with my postwar Lionel or my Marx!
Good morning all,
It is sunny and mild in SE Indiana with temps rising to the 70s. Rain on the way for Tuesday and then back to the cold weather on Wednesday. I watched the IRL race on Sunday, and it was good for the first 75 laps and then Manning went spinning around. Could have been a nice finish for AJ's team. Team Red and Team Green were all in the first five. Worked on some odds and ends type of jobs on Sunday. Not sleeping in this morning, but just late in posting. I had a good breakfast on the dining car. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a clear, sunny 55 degrees. Going up to 72, with sunshine all day. The buds are coming out on the trees. Flowers are coming up. Spring is here.
Today, I will be taking the car in for an oil change. Then, I plan on spending as much time outside, as possible. I might run the mower on some of the front, that is starting to grow. I have a lot of work to do, on the lawn and flower areas.
Dining Car is here early. " Points west " is sleeping late today, again. So, on to breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Chuck
Monday... is it Monday yet?... please say its Monday!?!?!I have absolutely no recollection of Friday night - this morning... I'm totally whiped out...Thursday I started painting the Living Room wall that the wife decided should be this hideous shade of dark pink (before I met her), so I had to put a coat of sealer on it to prevent bleed through. So Friday I get home and decide to put a coat of paint on it, done, looked aweful, figured I would let it dry overnight to cure a bit. Woke up Saturday, put another coat on it, still bleeding through, one more coat - that did it. Then wife decides we need to move furniture around because the entertainment center was no longer in the way. So the she cleaned the house while I started working on her nightstand (latest pre-moving project - an old nightstand that she wanted to have stripped and refinished to match some bedroom furniture) thing has been sitting in a covered porch for many years and had a large water stain on top, top was cracked, drawer front was broken, bottom shelf was cracked - so I had some gluing, filling and sanding to do. Glued it up Wednesday night last week and took clamps off Saturday - everything looked solid! Started sanding. Then wife decides we need to goto the grocery store, got that done, come home drop off groceries, head to Father-In-Laws. On the way there she decides we are going downtown to go furniture shopping... get to FILs, drop off his groceries. Spend 2.5 hours looking at furniture (most of the time spent waiting for salesrep) . Have all the furniture ordered for the new house. Got a nice dark brown (walnut) leather reclining sofa, tanish chair and ottoman, for the FR, and wife ordered her server for her DR set. Then we walk across the street to their 'clearance' store and she finds the table for the foyer... no more furniture shopping !!!!Yesterday I'm in the garage waiting for entertainment center people to come pick it up, while waiting I get the nightstand sanded... looks really nice. After they leave I start staining the nightstand when the phone rings. It is FIL... someone took out his mailbox the night before, so now we have to get ready, stop at Lowes to pick up new mailbox, and go help him install it. Also stop at PetsMart to get cat litter and food (we are nervous with all these recalls from menufoods). Anyhoo... get to FILs... someone took out the neighbor's mailbox, his mailbox, AND hit a telephone pole and drove off... nice! Can't wait for him to move in with us and get out of that area!Took FIL and I about 2 hours (me mostly) to get the old post out (had to use the 1982 Nissan pickup to yank two aluminum shanks out of the ground - they were used to anchor the old post), get the new post set and mailbox mounted. I think I took a 2 or 3 hour nap!Got home last and couldn't fall asleep... this is getting ridiculous!!!!!!So here I am at work... yeah!Brent
Good morning from a drizzly New England.
We had a nice weekend and the kids enjoyed spending most of it outside. They were all nice and sleepy by 7:30 last night.
Last night I ran our El Capitan set on the outer loop and a long coal train on the inner loop propelled by our NYC starter set 4-4-2.
Also this weekend, I finally finished up the Chief's tunnel portals. Will be shipping them out this week.
Sox/Royals this afternoon. Schilling is on the mound for Boston.

Chief - I'll meet you at Dewey's to pick it up. It will look quite nice parked beside the one I have just like it. Since I've mowed our yard THREE times already (#4 Monday), I may need a spare. Thanks for the offer.
