Lisa, you make a very good argument in favor of grits! I might want to eat some now. Ever consider becoming a lawyer?
Yam.. you know, like Popeye used to say. I know...down there you all eat them with collard greens.

Jim, I won't tell anyone. As for a Yank from Massachusetts moving down here, I have run into several who have made Georgia their home. I used to be on the fire dept. many moons ago and you would not believe the number of guys on the job who moved to Georgia upon retirement. You can come, but don't expect us to conform to you, you just have to fit in and behave. We will have that blue belly turning grey before you know it. You might want to check with Kieth, rumor has it, he wants to move down here too.

At least he was born & raised on the right side of the Mason-Dixon line. Now we need a plan for Dennis to renounce Grits like a true Northerner & that will make his family in NJ happy again! Take Care all.
Actually, My Dad's family is from Germany, and my Mom is right off the boat from across the pond in England. And they are looking forward to moving down SOUTH. WE know how to take care of the elderly too as we did away with state tax on retirement income. We will occasionally visit the north to remind us how bad it is on the "Other Side" and remind us how good it is down south.
Hope Y'all (including Kieth) have a great day!

Like the good book says, "when I was a Child, I did childish things, but now..." lets just say I got wise in my older days and moved where I don't have to worry about how much snow, etc. Life is great here. I just look at it that I was born on the wrong side of the MD line and fixed that by moving here. And for that rascal sherman, you should see what he left, plenty of mansions and plantations that just make you feel at home.
Good morning from a sunny and cooling Chicago where it is supposed to rain just as I am getting out of class later tonight. The Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum are also wonderful spots to visit. I was focusing on train-related things to see or do. The Field is what I think a museum should be like - soaring, expansive spaces with lots of stuffed things and dioramas. Mike C, I am fortunate the Art Institute is a block away - I went every week when they had a free admission day; of course, they just recently they got rid of that - I have my favorites too to visit: including Nighthawks, American Gothic, Magritte's Time Transfixed - with a steam engine coming out of the fireplace. A great place!
Jim F., that Rock 'n Roll McDonalds has been significantly re-done - it is now like a gigantisized version of Kroc's original restaurant.Roy, speaking of vacations, I moved ours to June so I'm now going to be here when you visit for the LCCA convention in late July. Tell me what side-trips you plan to make. Can't believe poor Roy was accused of being from New Joisey - might this be the ultimate insult to a Texan?

That's great! So, you're from New Jersey? Are you "connected"?Rewired a dead 6026 whistle tender last night. Works great now. So loud, all 3 kids had their hands over their ears! Still have 3 "problem child" tenders to go and then all my post war tenders will be overhauled and in working order. I brandish a mean soldering iron...Jim Yanks can't read either. Seems Roy said he is Texican. Now we have to listen to Dr. Tinker Jr. Think I'll rename him to Dr. Tinkle. Pretty day. Off to Kerr Lake. Have a good one.

Good morning all,
It is another beautiful sunny day in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s again. I got to work early and helped make ice for the rest of the people. I saw an UP doubleheader pulling an intermodal unit train past my new parking lot. I think I will like it here a lot. I see where "Points East" already made it to the dining car. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a wet 57 degrees. Rained hard last night. Thunder was loud. Going up to 72 today, with cloudy skies.
Today, we are running some errands. Wife is taking her little dog to the groomers. A lot of things to do. Keeping busy is good. Maybe later, I will run trains for awhile. Need to start dusting again.
Well, Dining Car is here. Time for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
