CHIEF, I didn't know that you can use GRITS to repairing ponds?  Isn't GRITS a great product 1001 uses.

Good morning from a sunny Chicago where I expect to have lots of company marching past my 2nd story offfice window today. At least it's a beautiful day for it, and I have to work late tonight so I don't have to battle the crowds home. I enjoyed futzing around with the makings of a transfer table last evening - finally joined the family watching a 'Friends' marathon - the bride now owns all ten years on DVD...

Looks like everyone is JOLLY this AM.  Even the Big Daddy across the pond.  Drinking Java and smiling.  Finished my expense and event reports.  Yes, I was up until early this AM running trains.  Wife calls me at 7 AM to tell me two Deputies were next door at neighbor's [she noticed as she left the drive].  He has been gone for a few days.  Probably his ex trying to get more money.  Pretty nice guy.  If it had been arrest warrants, RPD would have done it. Think I will ride the JD and mow.  Rained while I was gone and grass grew inches.  Will probably have to start mowing twice a week if we have plenty of rain.  With gass prices, that will cost.  Will probably pull Ranger out of shed and change lower unit lube, gas filter and put in new cranking battery [old one 5 years old so don't want to chance it].  Need to fish pond tomorrow as first full mooon in May.  Blue Gills [so the Yanks will know, they are Bream down South] always start bedding on first full moon in May.  Later.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 55 degrees. Going up to a warm 84 today. Looks like a possible rain shower, this evening.....

Today, I will work in the yard for a while. Starting to clean up the weeds and take all the wind chimes out of the shed. Wife likes wind chimes. I may clean up the train room, later, when it's hot outside. Then, take it easy. Relax.

Dining car has arrived and is ready for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Good morning all,

It is another beautiful, sunny and warm day in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s.  It is the first day of May, which used to mean the track was open for practice for the greatest race in the world.  Now they start on the first Monday after the first Sunday, sort of like elections.  Anyway, it should be interesting with three ladies entered in "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing".  There will be some festivities on the circle in downtown Indy today, and the Mini-Marathon is this weekend.  It sounds as if there was some "interesting" conversations yesterday, but it also sounds as if matters were resolved.  Now we can go back to more mundane topics, such as Rebs vs. Yanks, or we can discuss something truly important, like the fact "Veronica Mars" is back on tonight on the CW.

I edged the yard and helped the wife clean up the kitchen after she went on a baking frenzy yesterday.  Nine and a half dozen chocolate chip cookies and four loaves of banana nut bread.  The dining car is fully loaded for "Points East" today.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

HeHe seems Jim's wife has been reading the forums and figured since everyone else's wife is getting new furniture she needed some too!  Welcome to the group Jim! Laugh [(-D]

Got another email from Big 'L' Tech Support last night.  They wanted to know the status of my 0-8-0 with poor sounds!  I emailed them once, they emailed that it could be a bad sound card and to call them so they could hear it and diagnose.  I emailed back that I didn't have a way to test it and would call as soon as I did, they were following up!  WOW!  Wife said, 'So you have had a carpet layout setup in the basement for a week and you didn't put the engine on the track and call them?  If I were them I wouldn't send you a new card because it sounds to like you aren't interested!' Shock [:O]

So I guess I have to setup carpet central for a night and give them a call.  Thursday looks good for that as the wife wants to go to Lowes' tomorrow night to use a coupon!  Banged Head [banghead]

Well gotta get back to work and download my week's assignments for school...

Good morning from beautiful, sunny Buckeyeland, where storms are on the horizon.   We may get a beating. Disapprove [V]

Ponds and waterfall were running in the Garden RR.  Have a leak in one of them.  So..........Laz, any suggestions?

More proposal writing today, but wait, there is life after proposal writing because I am going fishing. Thumbs Up [tup]

Brent, got the email.....sounds good.

John B., For the most part, it's all in good fun.

Chief, don't worry about the supply, plenty of farmers switching to corn on the rotations here as the price is going up with the ethanol push.  This will however make the price of both popcorn and ethanol go up.

BF, please don't get onto anyone about spelling, lots of mispelled words and poor grammer on forums, the main thing is having fun and talkin' trains.

Good morning from New England.

I got an urgent e-mail from the Chief regarding a recent rash of fake ATMs popping up. They are fairly easy to distinguish from the real ATMs, if you look closely and pay attention.

No trains last night. We went furniture shopping instead. Bought some new living room and kitchen stuff. $$$!

Good morning from Gettysburg.  Bee-u-tee-ful day yesterday.  Chance of some showers today with a high of 72.

The Mrs. leaves tomorrow for FL going to her niece's graduation/wedding party.  The niece and her hubby to be were to graduate Saturday AM but are skipping the ceremony to get married.  Only the parents and their brothers are invited to the wedding, then a big party in the afternoon.  To each their own.

Our son is finishing up a project and exams this week.  He will take his last exam Thursday. Now the great apartment search at American University will begin. Apartments in Nothwest DC are not cheap...neither is University housing.  Don't know what he will do.  He'll figuer it out.

Take care and have a peaceful day in the Coffee Pot.

Lisa, I have the same pop up on XP/Norton. mine is caused by having auto update/ downloads on both and it's just Microsoft and Picassa doing their thing, nothing to worry about just confusing, really!

This business of you Yanks and Rednecks feuding is getting tiresome. If you don't start to behave nicely ro each other?

Daddy will come over from the mother country and give you all a good wupping.

So there!

Dennis, how's fido? Better I hope?

Had a good blaze in the centre of Manchester yesterday, Two large Victorian office buildings burned. One was part empty and had itinerants inside when the fire started, it's suspected they may have lit their own funeral pyre. I put oil fired heating boilers in one of them a few years ago, there was about 10,000 gallons of fuel oil inthe basement so it burned well.

I think we have a problem.  Remember the last one.  Sounds so simular.  Guess we will have to handle it the same way.

Roy, my friend Jim Young had to have his house jacked up as well - what a mess.  He had to do this about a year before he retired (lucky) and since they moved to SC they are just renting - said he had it with owning a house!  I read it all while on breaks at work - you din't miss nothing good.

Got outbid on more stuff on ebay - maybe I should bid more that stuff is worth (to me) Dunce [D)]

Not sure what I missed here - but it looks like it is a good thing!

Busy day here. Watched the foundation repair crew dig 11 holes under the rear portion of my foundation perimeter (that doesn't sound good does it?) and then auger down about 10-12 feet, install rebar and then poor some concrete for piers. It gets to cure for a week and then they come and jack up the foundation to lift the house back into position, block it and secure. Now my trains won't roll off the shelves any more on their own Big Smile [:D]. Hey and I get to pay for this too! Angry [:(!]

Hope all have a great day tomorrow!

Regards, Roy

It's important to me; but do go back to re-fighting the Civil War if it pleases you. By the way, I believe the term is "egging it on." Also, the little sign would be more effective if it were spelled correctly.
