So many roads, so little time.
Thank God that those tank cars that got crushed weren't loaded with a haz mat like chlorine gas or petro chemicals.
It is such a shame that the news outlets are sensationalizing it so much, one MORON was questioning as to whether that was a passenger train that was crushed, would you believe covered hoppers. Rant Over

Good Morning all
I pray for the souls of those who died in the accident and the consolation of their loved ones.
I've been away from the Pot for a bit, got back last night from an excursion to the South (Smokies), and was glad to see the Ohio River again!
Got a lot of catching up to do, I'll check back in later.
May God bless your needs
Jim
Good morning?
Not so far it isn't. Went to leave for work and the car wouldn't start for the first time in ten years. Maybe it's time to replace the original battery. Might as well get the brakes done while I'm there. Sounds like I'm in for an expensive day.
Prayers to the people of Minneapolis. What a nightmare.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 66 degrees. Going up to 90, again today with sunshine all day. It is a hot week.
Prayers are going out to the folks in Minneapolis. That is a tragic happening. I still wonder what the cause was. This needs a lot of attention.
Today is a day for relaxing. I have a few errands to run and then keep cool in the shade. May go into the cool train room for awhile.
CNN has a video of the bridge during collapsing.
Well, Dining car is here and ready. Breakfast.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Chuck
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps and humidity in the 90s. At least I do not have to mow the grass until it rains again. My dad and I watched the tourney finale last night and there were seven people from my team there to watch it. I guess we just did not want the season to end. It was a shootout with the team that beat us winning the title.
It is indeed a tragedy what happened in Minnesota. I heard on the news this morning the bridge had been inspected annually so this is extremely odd. My wife suggested calling some friends who live up there to see if they were ok, but I felt like the phone lines would be busy. We will check later. Thoughts and prayers go out to all affected.
It was just the normal fare on the dining car for "Points East". I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
HI GIZ,
Prayers for those people in MINN. Tough stuff to see.
Nice here this morn at 515 was 64 to get to 94 today. Jogged a slow 2.3 miler today, nice this time of the day. Going to play GOLF this afternoon at 4 if not too hot? If to hot going to run trains?
HAPPY FRIDAY EVE!
Stay COOL.

Mornin' boys. Terrible news out of Minneapolis. Really slow with the casualty numbers...trust me, those in the know already know... I immediatley thought of the double decker highway collapse during the Oakland earthquake, which apparently every newscaster had forgot about last night.
Chief - I couldn't bring up your interview, but did read the article. Population going to double in next few years. Will the migration to your area be from south of the border, or NORTH of your border. Will there be GRITS-FREE zones?
Phish - welcome back, Sir.
rt - good luck with the job hunt.

Squeek! Squeek! Original brakes too!!! And I have ridden in this car!!
Morning all. Heat is going up more today and no rain in sight. Off to Mom's down east. Sure is a mess in MN. Was telling wife that I was in line at the wake Sunday afternoon with a recently retired NC DOT bridge inspector. Was telling him about something Buckeye had sent me on bridge failure on the UP. He was telling me about how bad lots of bridges are. Shame. Spend billions in the "sand" and can't afford to keep our highways and bridges in good repair.
Have a good day.
Good morning everyone,
What happened last night was tragic. We found out by accident. My dad was watching Rescue Me, and hit the chnnel button instead of the volume control, and it landed on the news channel. Prayers for eveyone involved.
Well, I got my TV. I am so happy with it. It's a 42'' flat panel Vizio. It's such a nice tv.
Well, off to eat breakfast.
Good Morning Everyone ! What a tragedy. Heard about it on the radio at work last night after the baseball game.
RT : hope all goes well now.
Colin : nice TV ! Can you play games on it too ? !
Thanks, John
Good morning all.
Scary thing that bridge accident and a bus full of kids made it. The first thing I saw was that yellow bus.
HOT and hot that covers it. I plan to stay inside today guess that means something on the three rail will get some exercise. I'll be back, Sir James

Afternoon all!
LAZ: Too hot for golf??? Get a cart and a larger cooler! Beer-a-hole rule in effect.
Colin: Happy belated Birthday! Sorry to hear about your mom's job. You'll love the TV. We have friends that rave about it!
Chief: Our Township has a rapid growth that they are trying to control with the just say no approach to everything. If you don't like it sue us! They ended up settling one suit with an $11M park purchase. We have a $13M total Township budget. A well thought out and updated Master Plan is a great start. Good luck.

Sad news. With watching all the kids channels and then watching Voyages on Steam engines, we missed the news. It was only when we read the Yahoo opening screen that we saw the collapse. While my wife has family up that way, we are not close and I suppose that bad news travels quickly. If one of them was injured, we would have heard.
On other fronts, I won a few cars on auction last night. Nothing special, but the price was right. No eBay for me, went with train station's auction. Wife is going to her Father's house this weekend with the kids, so I hope to get plenty of wiring done on the layout. Got some 10a fast blow, reset breakers to use in line. One thing I need to work on is the plan for the control panel.
I am on call and last night had a bit of a painful experience. They have these new beds for patients that have large batteries and motors so one person can "operate the bed" and make it drive down the hall and to the ICU. This particular case, the patient was on some special equipment and I had to go along with them. The Tech who was working the controls puts this thing into "drive" and it ran over my foot....I am here to tell ya, those beds are HEAVY! Anyway, I now have a broken toe and while it is a small thing, it sure does hurt. WHAAAAA. OK, I'm done. At least I don't have to do too much walking, and now I have another excuse not to exercise.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Dennis

OMG, Fifey, I don't even want to know where you're going with that...
Expensive day today with the car. got a new battery, brakes, and a wheel bearing. But after I got the car back, I headed to the train store for the new catalogs. I was a good boy and kept my head down as not to look at any tempting items, (like trains or the counter girls 2 best attributes).
Repainted a blue Conrail box car orange with black doors today while I waited for the car to be fixed. I'll bet none of you can guess what roadname I'm going to go with on that one...
Not much else going on. The wife is home tonight. Better go make the kids some Benadril milk shakes!

Jim, I don't recall Southern or NS using Orange and Black in the paint scheme.
Had to do another emergency. I am tired. Doug, wish I could hang out in a lawn chair, but my bride can't support my train habbits on her salary and cover the mortgage.

Hmmmm, maybe Tony Stewart................
