Morning all!

Another warm day today. Low 90's and partly sunny.

Had two trees removed from the front of the house yesterday. It was too bad that the trees were too close (5-6 feet away) to the foundation. One was a live oak and when we counted the rings it was over 40 years old (predated the house by 10 years). When they went to work on the stump with the grinder, the lower stump diameter was nearly 4 feet! No wonder it was sucking all the water out from under the foundation.

Zeke - I recall you like to stay up through the night. I sometimes do the same thing. It stems from when I did 3rd shift work many years ago and once I am up past 11 pm, sometimes I am unable to fall asleep until 3-4 in the morning.

Chuck - Buckeye is off trying to build that "house" that Don B posted in his Chief's scenery link Laugh [(-D] since it seemed such a good fit for Ohizo scenery.

Regards, Roy

Mornin all from Georgia's georgeous coast. Light rain this mornin with highs getting in the mid 80s today. Dennis your lucky you got rain, hail, and whatever you said. Savannah area has been tricked and tricked with them afternoon showers. Nothing but red coming our direction, then the next time you look at the radar, its all gone. Hope everybody else gets plenty of rain.

Dennis, send some of that rain back up this way.  It keeps passing us by.  Last week there was a shower in Watkinsville, 4 mi. from house, and not a drop at the house.  Sat. heavy rain, hail, etc. one county down and not a drop here.  I've given up on a lown this year.

Stopped by the store while I was out yesterday and another batch of rolling stock was delivered, not expecting any power until Lionel releases TMCC2, were hurting not having any engines other than what we get from buying up collections.

Good morning all,

It is another beautfil sunny day in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s.  Class went well last night, and last night the barber was in the house so I got a haircut.  Lucas washed "his" car for the first time and found out it was not as easy as it looks.  Today is my "short" day as this is the only day this week I work a normal shift.  Laz, thanks for the info about the turtles.  Wow, three sliders.  I hope you have some success with the eggs hatching.  I see where the dining car arrived from "Points East" this morning early with bran muffins onboard.  That direct route from Ohio to Indiana sure runs quickly :-)  Tmcc man, I am glad to see you posting on a regular basis again.  I hope you enjoy the soccer updates.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 55 degrees. Going up to 85 today with sunshine. Grass is starting to dry out a little. Need an all night rain.

Today, the is a usual, work outside day. I may mow the back yard, just to keep the cycle going. Needs a little trimming. Grass is not growing fast.

Not too much train news going on. Tomorrow, I will buy the bridge paint and schedule a painting day. Need to set up a way to hang the bridge, so I can spray all the areas. Got a few ideas.

By the way......Where is Buckeye today ????

Well, Dining Car is here and ready for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

What a comedian! Why don't you fly up too, Dennis? Then the 3 of us could raid those Yankee train stores together. We plan on going to Charles Ro, Northeast Trains, Mountain Trains, Treasured Toys, Modeler's Junction, and that's just before lunch. Many many train stores up here. Bring your charge card, because you're buying!!Wink [;)]

Morning to All,

Just brewed a fresh pot. Today is the last full day of school for the children. Wednesday and Thursday are early dismissals. Can't wait till the end and then after about 3 weeks, I start to miss the kids. It's strange.

Well I must get going.

Take care,

Mitch

Why?, Raid and blunder some Yankee train stores.  Not FF miles, certificates and vouchers.  Still have my FF miles.

I too watch the Trains and Locomotives.  Nice footage and a lot of places they spoke of, I have been to.

Jim, no, didn't get the lawn taken care of....it was still 98 degrees at 7pm and I was just wore out.  I helped the bride with some duties around the homestead and after dinner, I went to the train room and another bedroom we have up stairs.....I am thinking of taking out some walls and making some storage closets.  They would have to be for durable goods as I am sure the heat climbs to well into the 100's during the summer.

Evening.  Big Love is on.  Popcorn time.  Had no time for trains.  Praying for rain.  Storms all around.  Got a very light sprinkle.  Got tons of squash, cucumbers and now a couple of tomatoes.  Going to airport tomorrow AM to cash in a couple of US Airways travel vouchers for a ticket to New England.  You have to go to a ticket counter with them within 24 hours of making reservations and present them in person.  What a requirement.  Have to use them by July 1.

Evening all

Been real busy.  New job has "developing" responsibilities.  Interesting how it will turn out.

Jim - I had a Grizzley planner and for the money it is a real bargin.

Doug - Couple years ago I was on assignment in Oak Ridge Tenn for a little over a year and fell in love with the Tenn. Carolinas area.  I could easily see retiring to the area.

Moved about a ton of fossile stone from an area where if I get approval from the secretary of fianance (my bride) for an addition to the garage.  Not including the pad will be about $3K.  20x30.  I need the length because of an extended cab long bed full size now with a dream of a crew dually someday.

It was beautiful today.  Low humidity nice temps.  A/C is off and windows open!  Wife on night shift, and dishes to finish up and studying class this weekend, and finals the following weekend.

Lotsof neat pictures this weekend, had to only look as I've not had time to take pics.  I've need to review my prioritiesWhistling [:-^]

May God bless all your needs

well thanks on the rfd , but im still in the stone age i guess with cable...

i finally got my track from ebay, took the guy three weeks to ship, took me 2 minutes to pay, oh well it was worth the wait, most of the track is brand new, now to find some larger curves..

just curious what should one expect to pay for som used sante fe f3's, loco and dummy  ( i know its a sight unseen question sorry) reason i ask is there is a set at the local train shop here. show some scratches but run really well. them things are huge...

well asked the same shop which is run by a guy who is around 80-90 and can barely talk well, hard to understand, didnt hear to well either, poor guy, anyways he told me to call lionel about my mth and they would have a solution?

well im still trying to figure out a layout for the track, everytime i think i got it something else pops up.

Zeke - RT is right, RFDTV is a channel on satellite (I used to get it on Dish).

Nick, that looks like a nice foundation to start from Thumbs Up [tup]

Dennis, was sorry to read earlier about the guy who had the heart attack - hope you got the lawn done.

Roy - good luck with your daughter, mine has a few years to go yet but I already dread those days to come.

Brent - 3-2-1 will be here fast!

Chuck, be sure to let us know when you get the bridge painted!  Blue sounds terrific!

Doug - sounds like a cool flatcar load.  I saw someone had a barracks kit (plasticville?) on ebay the other day.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Afternoon All !

Well it has already started, the better half brought home a "G" gauge set so guess who has been out in the yard starting ANOTHER layout. Blush [:I] Went and got some additional track, WOW, talk about expensive. I should have started an "O" outdoor layout long ago at the price differences.

Went by "Tuesday Morning" yesterday, picked up some Corgi, 1:50th scale, History Channel Legends M-48 tanks. They are Vietnam era but they still look SWEET on the flatcars, bought all four that they had for $10 each. Another project to do. Dead [xx(] After this one is done I'll pick up the APC's from the same era.

Evening guys,

Things look to be quieting down for the Summer.  Not much happening here.  Grandsons coming tomorrow to help with the bark much for the beds.  Then a day of rest at the TCA museum, I will need it.  Tonight is our monthly meeting of the high school classs of '57.  Yes that was 50 years ago.

Posted a separate thread about some 1/48 Model T kits that came to my attention.  Look to be very nice.

Take care,

Brent, over the next two days, they have BMW featured on the History Channel's "Voyager" program.  Also, tonight at 6est, on RFD, they have Trains and Locomotives on the Lackawanna.

It is a good day for us at home, but is not for others.  Had a very young person die of a heart attack, with his daughter alone to hear the news.  I can't caution folks enough, if you have pain, get it checked right away.  Time is heart muscle.

Well, it is close to 100 and I have some grass to cut.  Time to fire up the tractor.  Hope everyone has a good night.

Dennis
