Looking at the pictures above I'm thinking I still like GG track. The new tracks all have good qualitys but my track has been run on for 25 years and I still like it. Anyway no rain so my grandsons 5th birthday was outside with lots of food and my daughter was thankful that everyone WAS outside. We have another 5th birthday next month. No wonder I have a big belly.Going to a local train show tomorrow and then a backyard outing with wifes family. Can you hear the groooan.      I'll be back shortly,      Sir James

Keith, Did you meet Barry?  Well he is fairly large but not quite up to the 800 lb mark.  Barry if you read this I just couldn't resist.  He does come up with trains that no one else has quite frequently.

Hi Laz-  I should have asked Barry if he knows about the famous 800lb Bear of Millersburg!Tongue [:P]Clown [:o)] I did not buy any trains at the show although there was lots of nice ones for sale. I did see a 1688E there & the seller wanted $100.00 for it & it was in worse shape than Don Bs 1688E prior to its restorationShock [:O] & it was the only one there to boot. Oh Well, maybe next time?  Hi Chief!  LOLWink [;)]Big Smile [:D] A Corvair would have been to small for five adults & we had no Grits with us either!Wink [;)]Tongue [:P] Speaking of which I saw a Convertible Corvair( two-door) in canary yellow last week driving down the main drag in Willoughby. Looked like a mid 60s version also & in restored condition too. Bruce W would have loved it.Wink [;)]Cool [8D] (I wonder how he is doing) Any way, John F-  I probably did see Barry there. However would have not known who he was at first sight. I did see a couple of younger guys manning the table there.(Maybe his sons?) There were lots of folks there today & it was a good show although some of the prices were kind of silly.(Like the 1688E mentioned above) Take Care.

Ate dinner at Noodles, a pasta place - had stroghanoff wth parmesan chicken *** Dinner [dinner]  Then went to Borders and picked up a certain train magazine with pictures of the CTT car in it Whistling [:-^] It's pretty good, but not as good as CTT, that's for sure!  Need to figure some stuff out for tomorrow and computer keeps losing the internet (I think it's the cable?).  Oh, and Windows XP is trying to run an update - over and over and over and over and over again...  I found out it needs a file and that file was deleted by an earlier service pack, so have to find that file on microsoft I guess.  I have the SRP on a disc in the back somewhere, too.

RT - good luck with your move, get back online soon and hope you get work fast too!

Chief,

The problem you are having is mostly likely caused by a short within the secondary coil.  Have you changed all four rollers?

Yes, I did that before putting it into service.  Worked great for several months [8 or 9].  Got any fixes?  Set it aside for spare parts.

Marty E, glad to hear from you.  Not traveling now.  Will got to Prattsville AL in August for BPS Grand Opening.  Hope to visit Dr. John.

Leave you guys for a couple of days and WOW - missed a lot??? or, maybe not.

Been to the Smokey Mountains for a couple of days.  Nice and cool up there.  Saw quite a few Elk in the Cades Cove area.  Mostly just riding since the hubby still isn't walking much.  He starts Physical Therapy on Monday.  Found a neat little train layout in Pidgeon Forge, TN - will try to post pics later if they came out.

There is no need to apologize Dennis I guess with everything that went on I would have been a little skeptical too. It takes a very big person to do that and you are that. Now I know why they call Missouri the SHOW ME STATE.

Still thanks for the apology that does mean a lot.

I really do like the train talk better.

Jim, one of the new updates from last week (MS07-040 I think) causes problems. I've heard various fixes but the whole .NET framework (which is what MS07-040 fixes) is fragile anyway. The fix that's most likely to work is to find what version of .NET you have installed, then download that and reinstall it. I'd just uninstall it and leave it out but too much software uses it these days, unfortunately.

I'm not 100% certain this is your problem, but if I were a betting man...

Chief,

The next thing I would do is check all of the wiring against a known good ZW.  Have you replaced the circuit breaker?

Marty,

I was wondering if you were ok.  Did you go to the Expo Mart today?  I wanted to go, but I didn't because I bought a 397 coal loader and a ZW this week.  I figured that was enough damage for one week.  I have to go to the November show.  I also would have liked to meet Keith and the OTTS gang.

Replaced it early on with an automotive type [Bob Nelson's recommendation].  Re-used it in this ZW.  Later

John (jefelectric), thanks for the information.  I had actually purchased some #6's at Home Depot as a last resort to fasten the track.  I figured I would need to drill out the track bed for it.  Now, I will hold off and see about a ACE place somewhere nearby.

John Bakeer, across the pond, had a nice gathering at my friends Pub that you so graciously helped with your photo essay.  I took some photos and will send them when I can download them.

Chief, thanks for passing along the information.  I have followed up on things, but will leave it at that.  Kim actually had raised the red flag about this early on and so I didn't get too burned.

Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.

God Bless,

Dennis

Lisa, your emails keep returning [tried twice, fatal errors].  Will hold and try tomorrow with my answer.  If that does not work, I'll call.  Also, in the email to you, am worried about Dewey.  Sent him email several days ago.  No answer.  Keep forgetting to call until I think it is too late at night.  Hope he is OK.

Dave F - thanks for the info!  I've got an email into MS tech support.  They have free update support.  Should hear back in about 2 days I guess?  I suspect you are correct and I have the SRP's on disks.

Dennis, a guy at HD told me that they aren't a "hardware store" and I should go to Ace for oddball stuff!

Just realized that our DVR taped a new Monk episode - so far it's great!

Lisa, glad to hear that your husband is getting better and ready for PT.  Hope it goes well and he's back to 100 percent in no time!

Good morning,

The sun's not up yet and I haven't had coffee yet, but that's next. If there is any 3-railing to be done it's got to be something quiet because the family is still asleep. I have a lot to choose from, so I think I might tackle my current scratchbuilding project (Kansas City Union Station), which still has some mechanical drawing necessary on the facade to do.

Jim:  I found the #4x1-1/4 screws at Fastenal.  They are a distribuutor, but will sell retail www.fastenal.com, and will deliver to a local distributor free.  See if they are in your town.

Also, I think we both need a little less youth programming.  Thank goodness mine really enjoys the computer.  Videos, yes, but interractive games as well.

Lisa:  Glad the Mr. is back in the saddle.  Did you ever decide on a name for your station??

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a beautiful, sunny 68 degrees. Going up to 82, today, with a chance of rain, later this afternoon.

Today won't be as busy as yesterday. Got all the grass mowed in one day, which was the first time in 2 years. Felt good. Now, I can take it easy today, and enjoy the nice weather. May run trains, later if the rain comes. Wife is doing much better. Less pain, every day. This makes her happy.

Dining Car is here and waitress has a smile. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Chuck

Hello All!   jimtrumpie-  Too bad you did not get to the Train Show yesterday. You missed out on a good one. Lots on venders & they had some nice layouts also. We enjoyed it. The OTTS Guys were talking about going to the November Show. However, that would also depend on the weather (Snowstorms,Blizzards) If we go, we'll mention it here. Dennis- "Ace is the place" .......Not for Grits though!Wink [;)]Tongue [:P]Clown [:o)] Lisa- Glad your Husband is better now & hope he continues to improve. Take Care all.

Chuck, seems like everything is getting better at Blueberry Estates!  Thumbs Up [tup]  Also, nice pics of your layout!

Had the talk with our son last night about Santa Claus (etc).  It was a little emotional for a few minutes, but he had it mostly figured out, which is what we thought.  Need to work on the basement - so close, hopefully I'll have all the lights and outlets powered in a couple hours.  Then I think we're going to walmart to get a trimmer for my son to use so he can earn some extra ca$h doing some of our yard work.  I've got a John Deere Trimmer, but it is way too powerful and big for my son to use.

Good Afternoon.  A quick stop as my son is asking "Dad, when can we go work on the Layout?", well son, lets GO!  Had a nice service this morning.  Our Sunday School is getting things together for our Troops who are in a Rehab Hospital on a base in Kuwait.  They rehab and then return to the fight.  I thought about sending a train set as well, we shall see.  I have  a connection with the Chaplin in Charge and we will find out if they can do it.  Anyway, great to see Lisa checking in.  Will pray for continued success with the hubby.  RT, we will have to touch base as I have family up that way and perhaps we can catch up on a visit.

God Bless,

Dennis
