There's only ONE Coffee Pot !  That's all I need.  What happened to the thread for "younger" interests?  Seems to me there is room for everyone here.

Doug - Glad to SEE you back !  Missed the weather information from Crystal Lake.  Looks like you got some "train time".

DON, I'll take this regular one here.

DOUG, glad all is well.

Good morning from a sunny and warm Chicago where I've seemingly never noticed the pollution and ozone-y stuff in the air before - ouch.  Thank you all very much for your good wishes - they sure lift my spirits. I'm going to try to work for a while today here and from home the rest of the week. I go away a week and someone creates another pot? This one's just fine for me.

Buckeye - We were supposed to be going to Atlanta in October for a wedding, then down to Alabama to see Susan's family in Rainbow City (it think that is where it is)... but the wedding was canceled, so looks like Alabama is next year for us... Glad to see you haven't given up yet and headed South... you seem to be spending a lot of time down there lately... hmmm... Whistling [:-^]

Was thinking we should start a Coffee Pot Recipe Book - straight from the pages of the CTT forum (how to cook well and run trains at the same time)...

Wonder if I'll see a copy arrive at my doorstep in 6 months requesting that I subscribe to the CTT Trains and Cooking series...

Good morning, Y'all!

Hope everyone is doing well.  Had one case but it was cancelled, so now I have some free time.  Have a dentist appt. today and afterwards, have to get some shopping done for the trip to NJ.  I think I am getting back into NJ mode: find myself starting to go faster in the car, flip other drivers off, tailgating (down south, we call it drafting), and just getting a Type A personallity.  OK, Just kidding.  I am looking forward to the trip.  Have some family and friends to meet up with.  May try to check out some train stores.
God Bless,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 70 degrees. May get some sunshine, this morning. Going up to 83, today with a chance of some more rain this afternoon. Had about an hour's worth, yesterday evening.

Today, I have some chores to do around the house. Then, run an errand in town, locally. I plan on running trains later. Trying to put together a plan for the snow covered mountain.  No new train items until October train show. Looking forward to that.

Dining Car is here from " points west ". Time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and rainy in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s.  I took it easy last night and watched a tape of the Sunday IRL race.  Chief, we will send some rain your way.  Doug, good to see you back on the pot.  Last regular season soccer game is tonight.  Part of me wants to play, but if we are "stormed" out, we automatically win the regular season title.  Just the usual fare on the dining car for "Points East" this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evenin' to some Mornin' to most.

Glad to see Murph is back to the forum, go easy on those eyes and like was said invest in some eye protection when workin' on those trolleys( as well as out in the sun). Thumbs Up [tup]

Making some real good progress on the Garden RR. Got all the rail clamps installed and the tracks wired. After doing all the looking around for different types of connectors I changed my plans on the wiring. I picked up a sprinkler timer box, weather proof, so I can install the track power on/off switches in it and the DC power pack will be taken in when not in use. Hopefully today I can get the ballasting down and the glue applied, that would give me a day of dry time so I can finish up the piers thursday. Approve [^]

I need to get this thing done, all the "O" projects are starting to back up pretty heavy. Dead [xx(]

I have 1 tomatoes turning yellow and already harvested a couple cucumbers here in Northern New Jersey. I guess there's a reason its called the garden state ;)

This will show you why I am sitting under an oak tree during a storm.  My house is under it.Wink [;)]

Cucumbers, got a 5 gallon bucket full today!!!!  Really ahd a big crop this eyar and still getting more.

BTW: raining harder and more thunder.  southern Wake Co under flood warning as it has rained so hard down that way and they are getting more big storms.  hoping we are going to get more.

Evening all.  Ligthning and rain but still dry under the oak tree.  Wife just called from downtown Raleigh.  She has been at a play.  Lights went out, rained hard and the Roseyville "Rock" is still dry.  Will not rain good on the "Rock". Banged Head [banghead]

Lee, yes it seems good to have some peace and quite [Jim A is on family vacation with his family and all his inlaws].  He is not having peace and quite. Laugh [(-D]

Lisa, glad you got rain.  I usually [but not this year] have to take the shovel and set corn back up [shoveling dirt to it].  Didn't do that one year.  Corn will straighten up to the sun.  Had crooked stalks in the middles so you could not walk.

Tomatoes are coming off real good but most are still small.  Lots of green big ones.

Popcorn time.

PS: forgot.  RT called and left word from Tenn.  He actually found a place to live and bought it.  On the way back to get another load.  Sounded real up beat.  Said, "Hi to all."

EVENING ALL,

Sorry if I overdid the tomato thing, actually they are not that late it's just the waiting.I had an uneventful day watched the big glob of rain coming across the state on the weather ch. only to see it fall apart before it got here.again some did, we did not.I'm thinking about using a Williams power upgrade for a dummy texas special but can't make up my mind,If I do I would want a horn also. Haven't decided yet.

Doug, hope your doing better. My wife and I are being watched for that same problem, but so far we are still OK.

Well Chief it's going to be warm here tomorrow think I might BBQ something on the grill. any suggestions. Remember this is a family show.

Can't figure out how to post a pic from google map, but here's a link to the train yard in front of our building.  You can zoom in and see some rail traffic, but often there is a lot more out there.  I've seen some really long coal trains, too.

Doug Murphy!  Glad to read you are doing better and get the weather report.  Daytime tv is bad even with cable channels.  You need a TIVO!  Hope your wife and kids spoiled you rotten!  Get those trolleys running, man!

Got to see a loooong train of tank cars at the downtown St. Louis yard across from our building - plus some bright orange boxcars (hmmm?) and, oh yeah, BNSF, Amtrak and CSX locos/trains.

For porksteaks, I like to cut slices in the steak and stuff with garlic, coat in olive oil, and marinate overnight in Coca Cola - very tender and juicy!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

ANOTHER  RECIPE FOR

BBQ Sauce

1/2 c. vinegar;      1 cup water;       4 tablespoons sugar;   2 tablespoons prepared mustard;    1 teaspoon black pepper;   1 tablespoon salt; 1 stick margarine

Mix all ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.  Remove from heat and add

4 tablespoons worchestershire sauce;   1 cup ketchup

This keeps well in the refrigerator.  Add cocoa powder, ground cayenne pepper, Tobasco or what ever else you are so inclined.  Laugh [(-D]

Good to see you posting again!  Hope the recovery goes well.

All,
I tried the cocoa powder in the b-b-q sauce and I have to say it sure make the shishkabobs taste a bit better!  Slow cooked 'em on the grill, top rack, 200 degrees, for 20 minutes... mmmm mmmm good!  Dinner [dinner]  Wife actually ate all her dinner!
