Good night all. 5:00 comes early. I just won an eBay auction, walked away from 2 others because of a lack of interest. Time for bed.

Enjoy your sleep now, Brent!

Brent, I know what you are talking about....for a few reasons, we waited for two months before we told anyone.  First, I was switching jobs, and second, we were both considered older by some theories AMA was on my wife's chart....no, it did not mean "Against Medical Advice", instead, it was Advanced Maternal Age.  We wanted to make sure things looked good before telling everyone.

Congratulations.....may everything go smoothly.

Hey, Percy ran much better tonight. Ran for over an hour without stopping unexpectedly. I did oil the side rod guides after they started squealing. Also ran James the red engine...and some HO crap. That HO stuff annoys me. Look at it crosseyed and it derails.

Ooooh, Stifler's mom is at the door again. Gotta get going. Brent ol bean, your fun has just begun.

I got suspicious with your post yesterday and now this one was just too much!

Finding out early is good and bad -- we found out the first time when my wife was like 1 month pregnant and the wait seemed like forever!  Good luck, I'm sure you'll be a great dad!

Hmmm - now that I think about it, we got pregnant just before moving into a new house!

Gotta watch Hot Fuzz so I can return it to Blockbuster tomorrow - TTFN

Jim,
We have one, she was informed by her doctor to wait till next weekend... NOT FAIR!

Trust me, I'm just as lucky as her.  I wouldn't do what I do for her if she weren't worth it, or didn't reciprocate in one way or another... she is sleeping right now... while dinner is cooking... and I am on the boards and watch 'One Flew Over The Cookoo Nest'.

Brent, best of luck to you and the Mrs. Go to the drug store and get a pee tester. Then you will know for sure.

My wife never got strange cravings or nausea. But the gas....ho! Reading your posts and seeing all you do for your wife, I'd say she's a pretty lucky gal.

Jim,
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but she has been nauseated for the last 4 days, has been having strange cravings for the same, hasn't been able to get enough sleep, and has incredibly bad gas... LOL!  We THINK she is, but we are not certain, we have to wait a couple weeks to run the test to confirm... but all signs are pointing to the affirmative... Smile [:)]

According to Susan, if she is pregnant, then it has to be a boy... 'because girls don't smell this bad' Laugh [(-D]

I'm TRYING to hold off on any announcements till we confirm one way or the other... but it is VERY, VERY hard... Big Smile [:D]

Got an email from Lionel and I'm EXPECTING a special LITTLE BUNDLE myself on Thursday - but mine's a toy train!

Doug,
That looks incredible... maybe I should have you overnight me one! Confused [%-)]

Just finished fixing my mix up from last night on the shed, installing 4 rafters, 1 cross member, 1 roofing underlayment, and 2 sections of siding... I have to get the siding installed to add extra support, and install the last two cross members for the roof, then add some extra support beams and I should be good to go.  Have the one section of roofing underlayment inplace, so when I can climb on the roof I can cut it to length, measure and cut the rest of the sections... they are so heavy I would rather measure and cut on the ground to reduce the weight!

Off to make the Mrs some b-b-q chicken, green beans, saurkraut, and rice... these strange cravings get weirder and weirder... Confused [%-)]Whistling [:-^]

Jim, ERR Sound Commander is very straight forward to install. I have Jon's Beep Commander kit giving full TMCC and sound to the RMT Beep. Well worth the cost.

Jon now works for Lionel, he has some sort of arangement that allows him to keep ERR going as his own.

When funds allow I am going to upgrade my Williams scale hudson with one of Jon's kits.

Thanks, Nick. I just read over the instructions, and it doesn't seem too difficult...I think...

If I ever buy another Williams steamer, it would be the scale Hudson 773. What a gorgeous locomotive.

Don, A big double Sign - Ditto [#ditto] !!!!!! Don't ya' just love the "Hooray for me and **** everybody else attitude".

It isn't just the LA area either, at one time we lived lived next to acres and acres of citrus and avacado groves. You notice I said "at one time", now the entire I-15 corridor is developed and rapidly moving inland.

Jimbo--I have installed a Sound Commander in my CNJ Beep.  It took me all of 45 minutes and thats only beacuse I can't read instructions.  Plugged right in and sounds great, runs good.  They really don't like my PW KW, sorta likes my CW.  They have a list on what x-formers work and don't on the Sound Commanders, but generally, I'm very happy with it.  I also thought about replacing some of the whistles on my PW tenders with these boards. I may rethink what x-formers I use and replace them....in the next 10 years!Whistling [:-^]

Don, my brother (USMC Oceanside some years ago) expressed the same things you did and the fact that housing was outragious.  Come back East, you'll like it, just not FLORIDA!!!Whistling [:-^]

OK, OK, I'M GOING TO DO SOMETHING VERY UNUSUAL, AND INCONSISTENT WITH THE "PHILOSOPHY AND "CONSISTENCY" OF THE POT......  TALK SERIOUSLY

Yep, we have one of the best climates in the country, (second only to San Diego).  However, I think it is one of the worst places to live.  Primarily due to quality of life.

Most of you enjoy your neighbors, have access to "rural" areas within 30 minutes or less.  Can get to a "semi" crowded area without a lot of trouble.  Here the "me" community is definetly in place, no-one is very friendly or cordial.  EVERYONE is concentrated on the buck, and will not give an inch.  The overall quality of life is far removed from what I remember of times past.  I would be out of here in a minute if I could convince the wife.  Maybe when our son finishes college and establishes a career we will relocate, one can only hope.  In the meantime I will follow in the mold of everyone else here and establish my cacoon of refuge in the train room, and enjoy the friendship, and coordiality of people in the "Heartland" through the forum.

Wow, that's pretty heavy stuff so early this morning.  So enjoy have a great day!

Now to return to normal broadcasting!

Doug,
Do they still make 'Chicago Style' Pizza?  When I was there back in '86 there was a Pizza place near the Amtrac Station that made deep fried pan pizzas... YUM... by very fattening!

Don, I am jealous of your weather. The bride, who has lived in Illinois all her life, wants to move (someday). Not me. Fortunately or not, I just can't up and transfer somewhere.  I like the four seasons - Hot, Cold, Freezing, and Cold. When I hear of fire ants, forest fires, clouds of grits, I'm pretty happy here.

Jim, you're eating lunch early - it's just 1030 in the morning Wink [;)]
I have lunch and dinner packed for today - left-over deep-dish pizza, chicken and cous-cous (which is something like rice.) Mmmm.

Colin,
No it is a Werner Multi-Ladder... very heavy (86 lbs) and very cumbersome.  I don't like it.  Wish I had spent the extra money for the little giant as it is much more versitile and lighter...

The problem with the Werner's adjustment is that you can't change from folded to step to extension without lowering the ladder... and the height adjustment pegs are difficult to work... then add the weight and it really gets dangerous.  I have caused on large blood blister on my arm and come close to pinching fingers on a number of occasions.  I have a feeling this thing is going to be sold at a garage sale in a year or two... then I'll get the little giant version...

Good morning everyone,

Nothing much going on here. It's too hot to do anything outside today.

I finally got the Ferrari hat and shirt yesterday. They look really nice. I connected my laptop to my new TV, so I'm typing this from TV screen.

Fife, sorry to hear about the electronics. A few years ago my parents lost a new TV because the day they got it a thunderstorm blew in There was no protection on it. When we got the 46'' in the family room, I bought a very good surge protector for a good amount of $'s so nothing would happen to it.

88, by any chance, does that happen to be a Little Giant ladder in the shed? My dad has one, and it's like his new best friend.

It is really tough living in a moderate climate!  Snow don't know what that is, humidity is that like humility? Lighting strikes and storms, see that on TV.  However, We are having a heat wave as well, its in the upper 80's maybe a little into the 90's in the peak of the afternoon.  This temperate climate is just so boring!  Don't own dehumidifiers, sump pumps, snow shovels, plows, or any of that stuff.  Just shorts, sandals, and sunglasses.   I just don't know how you all weather through it all!

The atlas spike one club arrived yesterday.  That is some kind of detail!  Definitely the most detailed car I have.  I mean the doors have operating locks!  The hatches at the top of the car has locks as well, and of course the doors all open.  Brake wheel with connecting rod.  I don't know what to do with it, wouldn't want parts to be broken with it on the layout.  I'll have to find a special place for it.  (John F, is your other Cicquot Club car as detailed?)  Definetely was worth the cost of membership in the Spike 1 club.

Going to go out to Hemet today, and see "THE" So. Cal. Ross Dealer.  Want to check out the actual switches before I purchase any.  Talked with him yesterday, he said he had some ideas he would like to discuss.  Already offering a discount, maybe he might have some "previously owned" items.  What is frustrating is I have an assortment of tublar, fastrack, and gargraves track.  But don't have ANY switches that are worth using.  So can pretty much go with any system.  So far the Ross seems most accomodating to the layout needs.  I may be missing something but as far as cost, it seems that the difference is maybe 10% from the different types.  Most people I have seen with Ross have the switch motors mounted underneath, but I actually prefer the switch lights on the table.  So will see what happens.

Hope everyone has a GREAT day, just wish it could be "comfortable" for you all.

Another great day here in the vacation paradise we call Jacksonville, mid to upper 90's possible severe t-storms later, just to get the humidity up about 200%.Banged Head [banghead]

Finished the outside frame on the 2nd table last night, can't do too much it was still 90% humidity and 90 temp at 8:30.  Hope to complete table tonight, then get some legs on both of them.  Which begs the question, how high should the table be?Question [?]

Thanks for the "updates" on the Polar express fiasco, I'm over it now, I have a new one on order with all the new cars coming, so...so much for a bargain!!Banged Head [banghead]

Hi GIZ,

Hot here today to get to 97?  laz CAMP still on hold oblique muscle starting to feel better, finally got comfortable last nite to sleep about 4 hours.  Still a pain, not to get comfortable and toss and turn all nite.

FIFE, tough one on the electricity strike.  At least you weren't running trains.

BRENT good job on the shed.  I'll be building one next summer a 12 x 24 footer.

  Stay cool.

Good morning from a soggy and humid Chicago where it stormed all night - one thunderstorm after another. Don't envy anyone flying anywhere related to O'Hare today. All the traffic lights out on the way to the station and slow orders all the way in because of signal problems.

I sure am impressed with anyone who knows their way around a sound or light board. When we got two new 'digital' ones, it was time to focus on video. The new light board runs on Windows - of course, it decides to go screwy during services. Kurt, I hear you about the time commitment. Just saw American Gothic yesterday. All of Hoppers works are on loan out east for a big exhibit. Saw Winslow Homer instead and the Remington bronzes - love those Western themes.  Anyone need a refill? I'll get the pot.
