Doug,

What city was the camp close to?  I can tell how far away it is from Greensburg, but I don't know of any real close to here.  There used to be a Boy Scout camp close to Madison, but I don't know if it still operates or not.

Keep on training,

Laz57 - thanks, brother.  Just can't get my day started without reading how "Laz-camp" went.

88 - thanks for the links,B.

dbaker48 - Mrs. fifedog does read 88's "to do" list.  AND she has visited El Rancho Liester, to witness the progress first hand.  I had to stop somewhere and get her a double-dip icecream cone on the way home, because all I was hearing was "Brent does this---Brent does that---blah-blah-blah..."   Gotta hand it to him, he tackles every task first rate.  When he does get around to that layout, watch out!!!

Colin,
It is a battery backup for the computer (UPS), you can also add another unit to it to extend the opperating time... Do a Google search for 'APC BR1500' and you will see them in the $185+ range, then extra battery is the 'APC BR24BP'.

BTW  advise --- next time you make a list of projects, start off with at least 15 or 20 that are already complete, that way you get a sense of achievement lot sooner.

Good morning from a grey and muggy Chicago where it's supposed to rain later tonight. Our area got a few inches Monday night. The middle boy comes back from camp in the wilds of southern Indiana tonight - he was probably within 50 miles of Mike C.

Brent, congratulations on the "possibility."  Lots of the restaurants in town ship deep-dish pizza direct across the country. Get one for your bride. Wink [;)]

Kurt, we go to a local place in Crystal Lake for our pizza. Genos, Giordanos and Pizzeria Uno and Due are local chains and good as well. We went to Pizzeria Due on Sunday.

Problems in Red Sox Nation? You should be on the South Side of Chicago where the White Sox have finally decided to play some ball - though they blew a nice chance to beat the Tribe last eve. No one down on the farm too. I'm going to Saturday's game anyway.  And Go Bears!

BRENT, CONGA on the news.  Got to get another TCA membership form?

MITCH, nice pics on the school. good luck.

  FIFE, glad your running again.

  Stay cool.

Fife - I got it! Wink [;)]

yes they do.  Check out BestBuy.

If you have a home theater, I highly recommend the Moster products as they provide a warranty for the components.  If you can splurge a little a line conditioner, which regulates the power more cleanly and removes the RFI and EMI from the current, will provide a much crisper sound and video.  I'm asking for one for X-Mas this year! This is what I want for my home theater...

Mornin' boys.  Back in business!  Saucey outside already.  Let the collie out for 10 minutes;came back in with a "that's all I'm doing today" look.

mitchelr - my middle daughter uses the term e-ddicted.  Nice school photos.  BTW, did you visit Romney yet?

POLAR EXPRESS fans, listen up!  I went to my local Michael's this weekend, and of course they already have their Halloween stuff on display already.  LEMAX has an item called Halloween Wolf Pack ($19.99).  It has 5-6 wolves perched around a den cave, and is lit up with a soft blue light.  It is a must have for anyone doing a Polar Express themed layout.  Check it out.  I was almost tempted to purchase one myself, but went for the trashcan bandits and Gazette paperboxes instead.

88 - gotta ask...Which work do you need the break from...?

Thanks guys... I am really anxious to find out...

Looking forward to getting away for a couple days... need a break from the work.

Fife - yes My shed is looking good!  Hope to fill it early next week.

The roof is going to be a bear.  I really hope to get the rest of the siding up tonight after work, then tomorrow get the roof underlayment in.  That is key.  If I get all that done, then I'll be able to stock the shed, lock it, and park 2 cars in the 2 car garage!  What a concept!

So... last night Susan and I were talking over dinner (she loved the green beans).  Next spring, after the income tax return comes in, we are going to reinvestigate the garage situation.  I told her we may want to see about adding a third stall to the two we have now (bump out the front of the garage by 12 feet, retaper the roof (there are two dorky dormers above the garage that aren't serving a purpose and the roof is rather steap, so shallowing the slope should not be an issue), and hopefully getting some storage above the garage.  The third stall would also have a door that 1 foot wider, and 1 foot taller than the existing two doors.  Wonder if it would be a huge deal to change the other two (probably not worth it).

Gotta run... have some school work to complete before going to Minnehaha...

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a warm 76 degrees with sunshine. Going up to 93 today with sun and a chance of a later shower.

Today is grocery shopping day. I will drive to Cambridge and see how the prices have gone up in the last week. Gas is still at $2.78 a gallon there. The price in Caldwell is usually 20 cents higher. Only 15 miles apart.

No time for trains today. I need to finish up the mowing in the front yard. Got the rest mowed, yesterday.

Dining Car has arrived and breakfast is served. Usual menu.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Morning to All.

Just made a fresh pot. Heat & humidity continues unabated. I just love August.

88 - Congrats to you and Susan.  Enjoy the graduation.  Hope the sailing gets gets smoother.  The shed is moving along really well.

Fife- "e-purgatory" LOL - the Mrs. about went crazy when the computer and internet was down.  When I first got a computer years ago, I couldn't get her to use it.  Once she started, I now have to beg for a few minutes on-line. My son is a total addict.  He starts hyperventilating when he hasn't been on-line for 30 minutes.

Chief - Hope you have a great visit with Dennis and Dr. John.  This is your first travel in a good while isn't it?

I have included a link to a little web page I created to show some pictures of the new school.  Nothing fancy, but  thought I'd share.

Have a great day.

Evenin' All !

88, Congrats Thumbs Up [tup], it has been a long while back but my wife went thru h**l initially. The only thing she could keep down was BLT's and wouldn't you know it all kinds of family came down to visit. Of course they all had to take us out for dinner, here we are all eating all kinds of hi-end foods and she has to get a BLT. We both agree that it was truly worth it. Especially since we have a grandchild who is an absolute joy. He will be spending the nite with us on thursday so we will be sharing a pizza and watching the garden train run. Approve [^]

Well, Hot Fuzz was pretty funny but BLOODY!  Lots of character actors you've seen before plus Timothy Dalton - didn't know he was in it.  Prayers for those miners.

OH NO!!!!  Another Brent coming into this world. Shock [:O]

Evening all.  Finally got three sheets [5X4] of soundboard down to get one layer on right side of big room.  Used big bottles of Elmers waterproof carpenter's glue and put big box in middle.  30 minutes later, stuck down good.  No screws.  Kept getting phone calls every time I came in the house.  Now got two meetings Thursday AM.  Sure was hot today.  Guess the phone calls gave me time to cool down as cutting sheet outside.  Could cut them with sharp utility knife.  I did some trimming with my floding knife I carry on my belt.  Main problem is getting sheets upstairs and in doorway.  Setup saw benches and Craftsman roller stands.  Put sheet of plywood on sawbenches to give support.  Cuts with fine toothed jigsaw blade.  I did cut upside down to insure smooth cut on up side.  Hope tomorrow to get lots done.  Think I will turn phone off. Brent:  That's great news!  We (she) just had our second...about 6-months ago.  Still not sleeping thru the night.

My wife had the nausea, but not the cravings.  We'd be off to a party or something, she'd get sick in the hosta's next to the car and say, "OK let's go!"

Good luck to the both of you!...Let's see....that would put you out about March 17???

We signed-up at the babycenter.com site.  Received e-mail play-by-plays of the developing child, and a lot of free stuff.

Doug:  Where did you get the pizza from???  We always go to Geno's in the basement off Michigan Ave..  Where do the locals go?
