Good Morning All from NE Ohio
where its a cool 60 deg with it being a cloudy, rainy day.
We have been very busy working at the museum with adding track to the 3rd leg of the O gauge layout. As of today, we have one loop (still only temp track) running on all three legs. It takes over 4 minutes at full speed to make one lap around the layout.
And work is well under way on the S gauge part of the layout also!
Today we will start bending some of the GG track that we have for 072 curves.
All OTTS members - don't forget next Saturday is the OTTS picnic and next Sunday is the train show at Parma UAW Hall.

Mornin' boys. Looks like Doug M. has sent us his rainy weather from Chicago.
mitchie - Thanks for the fresh brew. You're too good to me. Those cats that close up the joint kill me with just adding new grounds...
broadyt.c.g.--->. Question: does csxt30 help himself to your thermos and lunchbox like he does everybody else here...? The man eats like he has a tateworm...
Chief- Looks like you fellows had a nice gathering. Glad to see you made it out of the swamp.
Morning everyone. Quick stop by on way to church. Got home and got plenty of rest for a change. Needed it as I am on call this week. I have some work to get done around the house this afternoon. Hope to get some train time in later.
Jim F., don't feed a dog regular ice cream. They do indeed have a special ice cream for dogs called "Frosty Paws". Usually it is found in the "Specialty ice cream section". Dogs can't digest regular ice cream properly.
Doug, have a speedy recovery with the eye.
God Bless,
Dennis

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cool, sunny 58 degrees. Rain missed us this morning. Going up to 78, today with a chance of a thundershower.
Today, I have a few things to do, but nothing major. If the weather hold good, then I'll be outside enjoying it. If not, I will run trains this afternoon. I need to do some dusting in the train room again. Not much else new on the train scene. Trying to fill the piggy bank for the October Show in Berea. Will be there on the 6th. Anybody else going ??
Dining car is rolling in. Time for breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good morning from New England. Fall like temps here this weekend and it feels kinda nice. My B&M boxcar conversion project has gone bad. The decals are still visible under several coats of gloss and flat clear. Perhaps I should strip it and make it into the first annual OTTS club car.
Busy day today. Have a nice Sunday all.
Doug M. best wishes for a speedy recovery. Sorry to hear that you are in pain. As long as your eye heales properly, it's all worth it.

Morning all,
A finer group of folks would be hard to find. If any of you in Southern Ohio, call me, my bride sets a fine meal.
Started working on the 785 coaler last night that my friend gave me. After untangling the cable, it took right off. Some minor cleaning and it is ready for the table
Got to go
Mornin' all! Yep
a morning person.
Scott Welcome! As you know any friend of John...
is subject to great scrutiny. Kidding, we won't hold John against you.
The Armada Fair was great fun yesterday. 2-1/2 year old wanted to ride the kiddie scrambler all by herself...she loved it. Yep the first ride o' the day was the train. She went on most rides by herself...except the big slide. Dad went on the big slide with her, she's still too short. My sister had their nephew for the day, about the same age as mine, they had great fun together. Finally someone her own age to play with.
Brisket turned out ok...smoker heat element was giving me fits...IT'S FIXED NOW!

Morning Folks,
Up early for a Sunday Morning. Been playing on the internet and checking on the forum. Have to go make a fresh pot. Today we will head to DC after church to help our son finish moving into his apartment near American University. Have to take him a few more things and then take his truck to my brothers house. My brother lives close to the MARC rail commuter line from DC to Baltimore, and is not terribly far from the Greenbelt DC Metro stop.
Take care,
Mitch

Brent - I decided against getting another black 1688. I will probably look for a gray one at York.
Not sure he is open Monday. I think just Tues. to Saturday.
Great pic, Chief - looks like you guys had a nice visit!
Jefelectric - my wife yells at me for feeding Chewy peanut butter and pieces of cheese or burgers etc. I mentioned the icecream and she said some places have special icecream cones for dogs??? I'm gonna have to check into that!
Well, had a pretty good time at the wedding. Got there at 1PM and started ushing... They are Catholic, but went for the short version of the wedding, which only took about an hour. My baby sister is an opera singer/teacher and her husband was a jazz guitarist, so they had plenty of music at the church and at the reception. This was at a different country club. Had greens with pecans and bacon for a salad, then beef Wellington with a potato, and then a tiny sliver of cake (very disappointing!). Got a good visit with some cousins and aunt and uncle again. My brother and I started singing along to some Beatles songs the "background pianist" guy was playing which gave him a big thrill and mortified our kids! Our whole table was clapping and singing along pretty soon and having a great time - everybody else thought we were nuts. Then the Soulard Blues Band started up and they were good, but there was only about a 20 by 20 ft dance area for 200 people?! Anyway, danced with my daughter while my son and wife did a turn, then got out about 8:30 after saying goodbye to some folks.
Welcome, Scott!
John - Hop on a fast freight and get over here, 'cause we have mint chocolate icecream in the freezer! YUM!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Well Grovecity earned its nick name of Grovetucky today I went to Crackerbarrel to eat and was suprised to see the local Bluegrass musicians play out on the porch and there was a big crowed there to hear the music and to eat which made my day as I have been going to a church 3rd friday of the month to hear bluegrass and get a free meal well I did not go this time and missed it but today made up for it
The meal was not free today, I had the oldtimers breakfest which included a small bowl of grits which I added sweetner to before they were edible
Oh and a hot blond woman sat down next to me out on the porch and keep looking at me side ways and texting on her phone........maybe I had a hugh bugger hanging from my nose or something

Chief, Nothing personal about leaving the phone off. In my profession, I seem to get called quite a bit. When I go to be with friends and I am not on call, the phone goes off, as does the pager. Both were safe in the car. Timing is everything, and while Chief and Dr. John were in the process of making final plans, I called on the other line. Anyway, great to catch up.
PS: Doug, glad you are safe and were able to control your stop. I had a similar incident about 50 yards before getting on Card Sound Rd. going to the Florida Keys. For those who have not been, this particular road is a two lane with no shoulder. If you go off the road, you are in the mangroves.....alligator country
As Chief mentioned, it was a good time getting together with the CTT Southern Division. Dr. John is first rate. Chief, I emailed some photos to you. I would have included the shots of the mill, but for some reason, computer does not like to send more than a shot or two at a time. As for Prattville, it is a nice place. Lots of old, southern style charm. The mill I mentioned is right on the banks of the river and was built way back before the war of northern agression. I took some photos as I think it would be great to model for the layout.
John B., welcome back. I have not had a chance to check the last few days of posts, so I have not read yours yet, but will go back and read. It is great to have you back on. Your quick wit and humor are a blessing, and much appreciated.
I will pray for all needs, but I will have to go back and read the last few days worth of posts. Y'all know how to keep things busy here. Usually, the summer months bring a slow down. Guess everyone is staying indoors with the high temps. outside.
Hi, all. Thought I'd pop in a minute. It's been a busy summer so I've not had much time to visit the coffee pot. I'm sure everyone else has a lot going on, too. Maybe I'll get back into trains when the weather cools off.
Had a great time today having lunch with Chief and Dennis - we had about three hours to visit. Wish it could have been longer. We took the nickle tour of downtown Prattville (which didn't take long! ). Dennis got our picture together, which I'm sure he'll post soon. (Hint! Hint!)
Hope everyone is well. Until later!

Love that Southern Gentleman !!!!!
Evening all
Doug hope your gets better.
Had a great day, cleaned out at daughters house but did not get to the dump before they closed so the truck is loaded to the top of the racks till Monday.
Continued working on the site for the garage addition. By the time the back hoe guy gets here I'll have the site about prepped for concrete forms.
Nice out this evening. Going to make a fire outside and cuddle with my bride!!!
Chief - good choice! The truck will be less trouble in the long run
got to go
Scott, CSX, puey!!!!! John is hard enough to take. No, you are really welcome . We tease a lot.
Had great lunch and visit with Dr. John and Dr. Dennis. Good to meet Dr. John. What a swell guy. Now for Dennis. He is a great Bud and always fun to be around. Wish I lived closer so I could help him finish his layout. Did miss seeing Kim and the kids. Kim sure is a lot prettier than Dennis. Came back to store aand could not get into parking lot. Policeman let me in as I was vender. Police were parking folks in the middle of the street in the turn lane. Vehicles were parked on the seeded/strawed part of the property. Got inside and 75% of the folks did not have baskets nor had carts. They were just looking and not buying. As one gentleman told me, its like the State Fair.
Hungry now. Chat later after dinner and microwave popcorn.
PS: [senior moment] John B, glad to have you back. Also, who admitts they are from Toledo.
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

Good evening all,
It was another beautiful day in SE Indiana. It has cooled off, but it is still very dry. I reffed two games today. The second one went ok, but the first one had a controversial ending. The ball was in the air when time expired. I blew the whistle and the ball went in the net. I had to wave it off (soccer is not like football and basketball). Did I mention the game was tied? Did I mention that the home team was the one who would have scored? Needless to say, I am not too popular right with some people. I checked with the other ref and his watch showed time had expired as well and the kid who took the shot was offsides when he got the ball. I can go to sleep and rest easy, but it was still a tough call. There was bacon and bagels on the dining car this morning and tomorrow there will be biscuits as well. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana

Boy, The Chief will sure be glad to see another Yank here & a CSX Conductor too !! Just kidding, we have a lot of fun here Scott & a great bunch of train guys !!
Hope everyone is having a nice day !!
John B, I missed your post, in fact I think I missed a whole page when I was reading to catch up! Just noticed Nick's mention of your name and went back and looked. Welcome back.
Good afternoon,
Jim F, The three flavors that I mentioned are the only ones that I have tried. As far as I know it works fine in MTH and Lionel smoke units. Not so sure about Atlas as the two I have don't work the greatest. I want to try the Chief's fix when I get time. BTW does Chewy like frozen custard? At one time we had a spitz that loved all kinds of ice cream, we would get her a small cone whenever we got one and she would like it as we held it and then would eat the cone.
Buckeye, Here is a Mega-Steam link.

Laz, I don't know what Barry was unloading, he was busy and I just said Hi as I was going into the store, Mike was minding the store. The stuff on the table was the same old stuff that was left over from the first shipment, probably end up at York in Oct.
Chief, The E-town Fair is next week. Grandkids will be showing 2 steers, 3 swine, 5 goats. Will post a few picks after.
Don, It looks like it worked! Don't panic, one operating loop is enough.
wrmcclellan wrote: Nick - are you talking about a separate electrical circuit for your layout? If so it is a good idea.
Hi all, Catching up on the pot, boy things move fast.
Roy, Yes I was thinking of a a seperate circuit. I think it would be best, also talked it over with my neighbour who is a "sparky" by trade (electrician). He agrees and is helping FIL and myself on the first fix.
John B, Glad your back. I was getting lonely as the Chief's sole Southern spy on this side of the pond. Yes, FIL and I are intending using low voltage and LED lighting. Well worth keeping the bills down as well as the electrical load.
Garage/Gamesroom now has garage door fitted and is now completly weather proof and secure .
Going away on Holiday to Spain for a couple of weeks on Tuesday will try and check in if I get Wi-Fi on the lads laptop or at a internet cafe. We have rented a villa on the 18th hole of a golf course. Good location, unless I am playing in which case safety helmets will need to be worn
Have a good one
