Mornin' boys. Mornin' English.

...and a pleasant good mornin' Miss LISA!!!  That skunk comment will make the ESPN top 10 list...SWISH!!! NOTHING BUT NET!!! 3 POINTER FROM WAY DOWN TOWN!!!

Oh, if only a certain NEW ENGLANDER had read that...Sigh [sigh]

Mitchie - Skip that little train museum.  I've skipped Harper's Ferry all together since the National Park Service has taken over.  It used to ba a cool day trip---now it's all about squeezing every dime out of you.My 2 cents [2c]  Funny, hasn't EAST BROAD TOP went steadily down hill since the Park Service stepped in as well...?  REBUTTAL ANYONE...?

Of interest to racing fans (especially UK):  COLIN MCRAE, of WORLD RALLY fame, died in a firey helicopter crash yesterday.  His young son and 2 others were on board.  Reminded me immediately of DAVEY ALLISON.Sad [:(]

laz57 - a bit "nipply" here too.  Did you bring the Bailey's this AM...?

Morning to All.

Yesterday the Mrs and I made a trip to Charles Town, WV to the Horse Track and slots. Had a cheap dinner in a little diner and then played slots for about 45 minutes (lost, of course), then watched a few races.  Made some wagers and came out about $40 ahead.  Can't hate that.

On the way to Charles Town, just outside of Harpers Ferry, I saw a sign for a Model Train Museum and Joy Line Railroad.  Any of you folks ever been there?

Take care,

Mitch

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 37 degrees. Sunny. Going up to 68 today with sunshine. This is too early for this cold weather. Need more warm days.

Today, is a relaxing day. Got all the chores done, yesterday. I think I will run trains, later. Got a couple of squeeky cars. Need to pull some lub maintenence on them.  Big FM Trainmaster is pulling 12 cars now with no problems. That's a favorite.

NASCAR race this afternoon. Still a # 20 fan. He's in the running for the Nextel Cup.

Dining Car is ready for breakfast. Then, off to " points west ".

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Had my fill of greasy food and then birthday cake - yummy!  The cake had a layer of strawberries in the middle, shortcake, with butter cream icing.  Very good.  John got a bunch of cool superhero stuff, mostly Spiderman, his favorite.

Nick - Red Dwarf was a great show.  I liked the BBC version of Hitchhiker's guide too!  Tom Baker with Leela and K9!  I heard that K9 had his own show for a while, but don't think we ever got that one.  I love the Britcoms.  To the Manor Born, Rising Damp, The Irish RM (not really a britcom), The Young Ones (sometimes funny, sometimes dumb), Benny Hill, Monty Python, and on and on.

Thanks for that info, Roger on the Hogwart's express.  I was kinda afraid of that. I'll have to have at least one loop of either Fastrack or O72 curved O track then....  Back to the designing!

PS - John (CSXT30) - My website is screwed up because I exceeded my alottment of memory with too many pictures.  I need to redo the whole thing.  Saving that for a sick day or a rainy weekend when I don't want to play in the basement.  I appreciate you looking at it though!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

I'm ready to preorder my ticket to the Durango & Siverton.  On that return bus trip that they offer, does the bus come straight back, or make scenic stops?  It takes 3.5 hours to come back on the train, but I didn't find information on the return bus trip.

Thanks,
Wes

Hi, all. Checking in before heading to bed. Had a nice trip up to Albertville. Got back in time to watch the Alabama - Arkansas game. Wow - what a finish! Bama  pulled out a squeaker.

Today actually felt like fall. Temps much cooler and low humidity - a gorgeous day. Should get down into low 50's tonight.

Marty, glad your wife is home and on the mend. Praying for her continuing recovery.

Good night! Zzz [zzz]

Finally got rain Friday, (about 2"), very little wind.  Lots of Tornado warnings around here but nothing touched down.  Cooler temps too - down into the low 50's at night.  Only about 70 today and tomorrow.  What a difference 20 degrees makes!!  Thumbs Up [tup]

Chief - Salad patch planted about 1 wk. ago - Rain was a blessing and it should come on up now.

Was doing some yard work around noon today when this big old skunk came running through my yard and went under the storage building.  Waited quite a while before I went down there to get the gas can to fill up the mower.  Didn't see it again - hope it kept on going down the hill!!  Gee - the Chief has beavers and I have skunks!  What next???  Oh yeah - Buckeye is south of the Mason-Dixon  - that was probably him!! Laugh [(-D]

Sir James - never did get your email.  I sent you one - Did you get it?

Sleep this early!!!!!!  OOOOH!!  Evil [}:)]Wink [;)]Whistling [:-^]  Back home from picking up Gail's [Pam's boss from DC that has moved to Roseyville] electric lawnmower.  Homelite.  Rechargable.  Impressive.  Especially for the small yard she has.  We ate at Smithfield Chicken [fried] and Bar-be-que [Eastern NC pork].  Plenty of sweet ice tea to go with it.  Dinner [dinner]Big Smile [:D]  Now to rest.  Did finish one of my under the layout rolling stock storage shelves [4X5 feet].  Man, will store a lot of cars.  Got one more I want to build [probably 4X6].  Still room to store plastic bins under that.  Got it on a half inch slope to the front with a 2" stop board on the front.  Cars will roll to the front as one is removed.  Jim Apitz's idea.  I enclosed some of the wiring with plywood screwed to the 2X4's tho make a conduit.  Then no wires hanging down to snag cars.  Later.

Good evening everyone.  Long day, had to get back part mowed and also reworked some pillars on the front of the house.  Builder did a poor job in a few areas, this being one of them.  Cloroxed the whole thing and then rinsed.  let it dry and then put some new pieces up.  I will paint after the curing time for the liquid nails.'

Well, time to join the rest of the family and get some sleep.  Hope y'all have a good night.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the high 60s today.  The boys played a soccer game today ending in a 2-2 tie.  Most of the goals came on breakaways.  I did housework and the wife and I did a few laps at the YMCA on their outdoor path.  We also drove by the Honda construction.  It looks as if they will open a road that has been closed most of the summer fairly soon.  We had bran muffins on the dining car from "Points East" this morning and they were good.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Roger - I'll bet you get a lot of offers on that preview edition!  BFOC is a nice little train.  Have you had any folks having problems with the decorative driver arms coming off?  I used some loctite to fix it.  I really like it.  Watch out on sellig the add on cars - the train will only really pull the tender and 2 cars.  3 cars is too much due to lack of weight in the locomotive.  I think my wife is still mad at me for buying this, but I think it's great.  Can't wait for my already preordered Hogwarts Express to show up too!  Does it run on O31?  They are listing as O36 min now, but I suspect that's a push for Fastrack?!

Jim F. - I've mentioned to the couple of customers I've seen about the loosening screw on the BFOC.  The cars on the Hogswart Express are a nominal 15" long.  I put a pair on a few sections of O-31 this afternoon and, to me it appears that they may be the limiting factor forcing O-36 more so than the engine.

Good news Marty!  Where's Don - hasn't posted recently or I am having early onset oldtimers?  Ditto Roy?  John Baker - that's a real shame.  Vandals should be forced to pay for the materials and fix the mess, over and over again until it is better than new.  Guess I am old school in many ways.  Nick, glad to hear things are well there and cub scouts is pretty fun for the boys.  I was a den leader for 2 years, then work interferred too much.  My son still likes scouts a lot.  Thanks for giving us the Cub Scouts, you Brits!  Also, The Good Life, Samuel Pepys diary, Tristram Shandy, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Wm. Shakespeare, Tom Sharp, Dickens, Robert L. Sounds like some fun days planned today.  Hello to all the regulars on the pot and bfskinner too!  I'll probably check back later, but have just finished working OT, bathing the dog (any idea where she got that bubble gum, John?  Sir James?) and getting ready for a birthday party for my friend - Chicken wings, Pizza, Beer and designated WIVES DRIVING!  Should be a fun time!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Marty, wait on that lady.  Usual gathering at Miss Edna's for hot dogs.  One guy from Farmville VA came in and bought tons of Fastrack switches.  He is switching from Atlas to Fastrack.  Got lots of other sections of Fastrack.  Has a bed and breakfast with big layout in the basement.  Everything looks fresh since we had rain and cooler temps.  Going up stairs and put down sheets of plywood for rolling stock storage.  Later.

Nick, Try a silicone sealant spray on the masonary and then paint, an alternative is Snocem or equal, you'll need to treat the OS or the first hard frost will cause spalling.

Afternoon All, 16:30hrs here in Peterborough. Very nice dry and sunny here. Makes a change from all the wet weather we had in the so called Summer.

Was working this morning, more crawling around in factory roofs fixing steam leaks. On the upside it will pay towards the layoutSmile [:)] Spent a couple of hours painting the garage walls, going to be a long job as they are bare block and really soak in the paint.

My lad started Cub Scouts this week. He enjoyed it and wants to go again. I had a great time in Cubs and Scouts so hope he has as much fun as I did.

John B, Hope Ernies sound system is on the mend. How's the layout plan going?

Jim F, Sounds like the Hogwarts set is a hit. I pre-ordered one for the lads Xmas present. Glad I did. Good few members of the UK Lionel Club have pre-ordered it as well. Bet Lionel did not send a pre production set to our UK dealer! Sad [:(]

Good Morning to All.........Not being employed anymore I guess family incomes are higher than the past, but I have often wondered about who pays for these kids cell phone bills and why. I understand the need for knowing where your child is but boy some of these kids must sleep with a phone in their ear. My kids would have had a time/dollar limit, period.

Chief= I'm glad you and Rosyville are ok, when we get tornado warnings I hide under the toilet, nobody ever hits it. of course with out door plumbing that won't work.

We have a crisp morning but the sun is warm 60s but warmer next week. Lots of football today, both Mich & Mich state. but go BUCKEYES we get to see that one too.

maybe trains later if the kids stop by.       Sir James

Good morning from a sunny and cold Crystal Lake where I actually turned on the heat this morning... This bodes ill for the White Sox game tonight. I'm gonna freeze. But it's worth it - maybe Jim Thome will hit his 500th HR.

Glad to hear Roseyville is safe and wet - in a rain kind of way. That Hogwarts set looks like quite a train; like John mentioned, I heard the real one was vandalized. I used to have a set I kitbashed in N scale. Sometimes I'm tempted to build a British-outline layout...

I'm busy helping another traction buff assemble a list of every trolley and traction engine ever made in our gauge - not including subways. He knows the older stuff - I've known the newer stuff. Let me know if you'd like a copy... Got the kids cell phone bill yesterday and there's going to be a big family meeting this weekend about it. Have a safe day!

My brother stoped by to see how my house is progressing and said I have too much train stuffBig Smile [:D]

My train fund has been redirected to a more pressing matter siding on house and carpet for basement and then when that is done I will begin on the layout.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cool 48 degrees with sunshine. Got a little rain last night. Going up to a cool 65, today with sun all day. The leaves have started turning colors. Fall is coming.

Today is a normal, busy day. I have some things to do around the house and then, I may run trains. I have some dusting to do in the train room and track cleaning. Getting a list put together for the Train show in Oct.

Time to board the Dining car. Just arrived. Breakfast is served. Then, I will send it to " points west " .

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Damn!!

The power supply to my RailDriver has burned out (3rd in two years), A Geep just dosn't sound right from the tinny speakers on ERNI.

Stockport is fine for the time being but cool winds and rain are forecast, compared to what some of you poor souls are gettting our worst is better than your best.

The real Hogwarts got vandalised £50,000.00=$100,000.00 damage mainly broken windows. Suppose the kids that did it will just get a gentle tap on the wrist. I dispair for humanity.
