Buckeye, good luck on the kidney stone thing.  If those Yank Dr's can't get you fixed this time, come see Dennis and I.  Dennis will take care of putting you to sleep [ballpeen hammer to the head] and I will use my GreatGrandDad's mall to crush those stones.  Shock [:O]Evil [}:)]

Jim, nice looking 666! I think I'll pass on this one, though. You gonna bid?

No. I am the high bidder on another one though. The seller is local too, so I could pick it up if I win. I hate the number on the cab. I almost don't want it because of that!

Morning all,

Buckeye....Hope all goes well today and it's as painless as possible.  Here's wishing you a speedy recovery!

Had my first TMCC pileup last night.  I'm not getting good signal strength to my Lionel E6 Atlantic or my KLine Torpedo.  Maybe Brunswick Green prevents good TMCC signals? Wink [;)] The E6 took off at warp speed and plowed into my KLine smoking caboose.  Knocked the last 4 cars off the end of that train and caused a massive short.  The old ZW's breaker got it's first workout while in my ownership.  Oh well.  That'll teach me to do TMCC testing and programming on an occupied mainline.  Gonna go back just to make sure I've got a good ground before I try things again.

Take care all.

Good morning from a cool and rainy Chicago where it's supposed to be in the seventies before the big temp drop tonight - which looks to last the next few weeks. Ugh. Tonight my class begins anew which means I get to really peruse the May CTT in detail on the train ride home.  Good luck to Buckeye and Jim's bride - I'm wearing one of those carpal tunnel braces - it's not fun. I got tickets to Thursday's Sox game! May they redeem themselves from yesterday's shellacking. Anybody got some spare change so I can buy the Cubs.

Jim, I've always been squeamish about the 666 too.

Mike C., glad you had a great game.

Speaking of hockey, let's hear it for the Blackhawks... anyone? It's sure quiet hear in the empty United Center.

Speaking of the "666" thing, about 15 years ago, I went to get a new license plate for my wife's van. Paid the money for just a plain, old Alabama plate. I got home and took it out of the paper cover. To my chagrin the plate's number was "2ALL666". Shock [:O] I went back to the license commissioner's office to change it out. They refused! I had to pay $50 more to upgrade to a "helping schools" license plate or live with that one for three years! I paid the money and left, then wrote a letter to the license commissioner. I got a nice form letter, thanking me for writing.Banged Head [banghead]

The good news? He was voted out of office the next election. Mischief [:-,] (Not because of my tag, but generally poor customer service.)

I think someone at Marx just had a thing for multiples of 3. Locomotives included 333, 666, 999.

Still... booga booga!

Morning all,

Yes Ohio State went down, second place again.  Still second place is pretty darn good.  Spose to be beauriful today.  Already a great start.  Sunny and warm.  Got lots of yard work done yesterday and started waxing the truck.  Still got about 2/3 to go.  Don't realize how big it is till I pull iti the garage, or wax it!

I hope to work on the layout today, hard to do when it is so pretty out!  I hope you guys who go to York have a good time.  I saw another thread of wish items, strange, no American Flyer mentioned.  Someday I'd like to see York after hearing so much about it.  I've only been to a few train shows so I don't have much to reference it to.

Bride going to have carpel tunnel surgury on both hands tomorow, so hold her up in your prayers.

Take care and God bless

Jim,  If you venture to York, you will see quite a bit of AF as well as other brands of S gauge.  One booth has a ton of AF parts and accessories.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with your wife, my wife had one done quite a few years ago.  I think they have perfected it a little and the healing process is much shorter than it used to be.

Buckeye, We pray that they will get it right this time.

I mentioned this the last time Florida Gators handed the Ohio State their tails, but when is MTH going to come out with a Florida Gators set?

Buckeye, hope all goes well.  They say nothing will bring a guy to his knees like prayer and a kidney stone.  My FIL is prone to getting them and I hope it doesn't hit me.

Jim, my best to your wife.  Getting both hands worked on at once requires a lot of patience for the patient and certainly a lot of understanding and help from the spouse.  After all, who is going to wipe the tail end?Shock [:O]

Dr. John, I am looking forward to a little cooling off, we have the AC running to cool things down a bit.  It is hot and the kids are running around like crazy.  I am not sure 38 is what I had in mind though.

Hope everyone has a great night,

OK, I know this is not train related, but "Mr. Roberts" is on AMC right now.  Sure is a classic film.  It helps return a parent to normal after all them cartoons with the kids.

Evening all!

Dennis that is a great film, one of my favorites.

Jim - hope all went well with your wife's surgery.

Buckeye - hope yours went well also. I thought that OS going down last night would bust up the rest of the stones.

More rain here. It's a good thing. Rains here with saturated ground mean about 1 foot in the lakes per inch. One lake in NW Dallas region that was 18 feet low came up 9 feet from the rains last week. Half the lakes are now above normal level and the other half are only down 6 - 9 feet.

Daughter back from the band ski trip over the weekend. Annnnndddd - she broke up with her boyfriend - YES! Mischief [:-,]

Have a great evening all!

Serviced JD mower [new sprakplug, blades, oil filter, airfilter, lubed fittings and synthetic oil].  Mowed grass and put out more fertilizer.  Then took Pam's boss and his two kids fighing at the pond.  They caught fish [I did too].  Sowed grass seeds on one pond bank and raked to stir soil.  Hope it rains tonight or tomorrow to soak everything in.

Buckeye, hope all is well.  Was going to call but too late when I got in from guiding.

Ran trains today.  PW Berk and Hudson.  Man they smoke.  Berk when running at a slow [not creeping] speed puffs the prettiest smoke rings.

Later.  Microwave popcorn time.

Buckeye, Wish the best for you.

Haven't stopped in here for awhile, been busy this spring. Spent the day "slowly" plowing under the alfalfa, getting the field ready for the sweet corn. Which brings up the question, all yellow or bicolor sweet corn as to your favorite. I plant mostly bicolor.

Evening all!

Got a chance to trace my less than expert wiring tonight in hopes of solving the signal problems with TMCC.   Back 2 year ago when running wire to my control panel I used an old extension cord from a wall outlet to the board for transformer power, most of which is hidden inside a wall.  Underneath the board I installed an electical box and outlet receptical to which was wired the other end of the extension cord.  Yup!  No ground wire in the extension cord!  At the time this outlet was only intended for power to 2 old groundless transformers.  Who need a ground wire?  With only one transformer on the layout so far I used the other receptical for the TMCC wall wort.  So as you can imagine this caused my signal problems, although 2 of my locos seemed to work fine without ground.  I ran a temporary ground and Bingo!  TMCC even likes Brunswick Green now.

Unfortunately, the first victim of full time 18 volts has been discovered.  The K-Line caboose, mentioned earlier today stopped smoking.  Figuring it was simply out of fluid upon refilling it I noticed the plastic body near the chimney badly melted.  Not a pretty sight and of course the N5c no longer smokes. Disapprove [V] Anybody have luck claiming warrantees on K-Line products these days? Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 52 degrees. Going DOWN to 50 today, with rain likely , this afternoon.

Up early this morning. I have an appointment in Cambridge with a dentist. Had a tooth break off crown, and need some repair. Then, I will do the grocery shopping. Going to be a long day.

No work on trains, lately. I need to make some time for that. We have been busy. This weekend, we are driving to Niece's. in Zanesville, on Saturday.. Then, on Sunday, we are driving up to Brunswick, to the Daughter's for Easter Dinner. Need to rob piggy bank for gas money.

Dining Car is ready. Time for early breakfast. Will send to " Points West" for the second serving.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Good morning all,

What a difference a day makes.  Yesterday it was sunny and warm with temps in the 70s, and now we are back in the cold with it being cloudy, windy, and temps in the 30s.  I went home, ate supper, sat in my chair, and promptly went to sleep until 9 PM.  Consequently, I did not do much last night.  I see the dining car arrived early from "Points East".  Buckeye, good luck with the stones.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Bruce,

If you can get it, I highly reccomend getting the Dec. issue of OGR.  They have some very usefull tips regarding TMCC and DCS.  One thing is running a ground between layers of the layout.  Should you have any areas that the tracks cross or come close, you should have ground between.  Also, they suggest having the TMCC base plugged directly to a outlet or grounded cord and not going through a surge protector.  A few more suggestions that should help.

HI GIZ,

Last day o week for me.  Easter vacation.

Last nite caught and released 10 trout, brother caught and released 6.  Not bad for 2.5 hrs out.  Caught all on meal worms.

Not much happening today, maybe run trains to nite?

Have a good one.
