Sun and 90's all week. Granny Pat is doing well, one incision got infected but is healing now. I remember NJ turnpike when you drove so far then had to toss a quarter into a basket. Better not get on without quarters. To the car nuts out there. The Woodward Ave Dream Cruise has been canceled but people are going to cruise anyway as woodward is a state road. However local law enforcement will still be on hand.

Lost my post...
Let's try this again.
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 70's along the Patterson Creek cut-off. I have a PT session in a little bit, then I'll head up to the mountain top to check on folks.
They fired up 1309 yesterday, in Ridgeley. I was in Morgantown tending to a family obligation. TRAINS was there with a video feed.
Banks - That is hard-to-hear news on the toddler. I went on too many of those calls over my career.
Hello there.
Prayers please for the 22 month old son of a friend. He's in Children's Hospital ICU in Pittsburgh. Not sure of the details yet but he was found in a pond on their property. His uncle told me he was there only 5 minutes but he has little brain activity and needs lots of Prayers.
We had an uneventful return from the beach Saturday.
Went to the Hillclimb Sunday. A pretty good crowd that from the scoring tower appeared to be social distancing pretty well. While there something didn't look right inside the fender of the Tahoe. Closer inspection revealed the coolant overflow jug was overflowing a red creamy liquid. Found the radiator full of the same stuff. The transmission is about a quart low. Time for a new radiator and a good flush. I doubt if this will go anywhere with Ammco but I'm going to ask.
Best get to sleep Studying for tomorrow's stress test.
Prayers for those who need them and this pandemic to end

I guess what I forgot to say is that $1.90 toll is for a small 16 mile streach through Rockford where I-39 and I-90 run on the same route. They know they will get everyone heading to Wi. from Chicago to western IL. on that chunck of road.
I also found a way around but it adds 30 min to the trip. I came home that way because it was raining and it was way less stress than dumb a$$ people trying to do 80+ in the rain on the expressway..
If I have to go North on the I-5 toward one of the coastal cities I'll take the 73 which is a toll road, full distance, peak hrs $8+ off peak/weekends $6+. I would still rather have to go on-line and pay the damn toll than deal with that very long parking lot known as I-5. I still have to deal with a small portion of the 5 from here to Mission Viejo where I pick up the toll road.
KRM All this for a stupid toll of $1.90. Got to love Goverment.
You said it! At least (for their sake) that Delaware toll was $5.00, or thereabouts. By their sake I mean they have a decent profit margin when you figure in postage and handling.
Anyway, we figured out a bypass around the thing so the next trip north we won't be bothered.
How dumb is a $1.90 toll? They just did the same thing on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey. Why not just make it $2.00 and move the traffic quicker instead of stockpiling a ton of dimes for the people manning the toll booths to make change with? Got to love government alright, especially when they don't think!
Oh, and I never got an EZ-Pass either. Didn't see the need. Besides, maybe I'm saving a toll-takers job as well!
Flintlock76 KRM They tell you that you have 7 days to pay on-line. Suprised they don't send you a bill and then expect payment within a certain amount of time. There's a toll on Route 301 in Delaware, no toll booths but a "portal," for lack of a better term where you drive through at speed, your license plate is scanned and they get the pertanant info from that and send you the bill, that's assuming you don't have EZ-Pass. But I guess every state has their own way of doing things.

Flintlock, I found out today that they will send you an invoice,,,with an invoice fee of now $3.00 that was $20.00 before the COVID thing when they had people in the booths. I have never got a what they call I-Pass because I only go through this one toll when I go up north, once or twice a year. Why let them hold $40.00 bucks on an I-Pass for two tolls a year? All this for a stupid toll of $1.90. Got to love Goverment.
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Sunny, hoomid.... Same here Roy. You can keep it down there, please!
Good deal on the El Camino Don and a new paint job to boot!
Need to cut some grass but you can't breath out there with the 90+ heat and 77% humidity. Maybe later this evening if the rain don't come?
There were a lot of people upset with our Gov but at this point it was worth it. Death rate still droping and positive rate is at 3%. Seems this COVID-19 thing is anything but over!
Stay safe out there.
Had to drive through a toll booth on my trip north because they shut down the pay in cash lanes due to COVID. They tell you that you have 7 days to pay on-line. Been trying since I got home Friday and the states site is down for up-date. Should of went back on line this morning,,,NOPE! Tomorrow will be 8 days, fine time.
Morning all !
Don, If Buckeye's mailman, mailperson, shows up in a hazmat suit that will be a definite clue that Chief's package is there. Great news on the El Camino.
Fife & Buckeye, Cherish the time now because it will seem as though they will grow-up overnight.
Roy, Just remember it's not the heat it's the humidity.
Need to rustle up some breakfast before morning meds, health not hallucinatory
Morning. 96 and extra sticky. Water again today as guessed rain didn't happen. Maybe tomorrow.
Morning gang!
Sunny, hoomid....
Got the last trim pieces fabbed and first coat of paint. I am making custom trim as I have a lot of wood that I need to use up. Hopefully will have this finished today. My neighbor loaned me a Bostich electric trim/pin nailer. It works great!
DonB - that is great news about the El Cam repairs! Can they put a tree avoidance dectector on it?
Regards, Roy
Good Evening,
Well, I'm pretty happy here! Was at the repair shop for the El Camino yesterday. 1st found out there is NOT any frame damage on the El Camino! So was discussing the repair, and he asked what I wanted for the paint job. Just the minimial damage area, OR the entire vehicle. Said, my preferrance of course is the entire vehicle, but didn't think I could afford it. He said as a result of no frame damge, (which was included in the estimate), he could paint the entire car for the original amount! And, would I like the white competetion stripe put back on the hood? I said sure! So with that and the 15% coupon I got for the parts, I think I've been pretty lucky!!!! I'm not even bothered that it most likely will take about 4 weeks. The bad thing will be when I get it back, concern for the first dent, or getting in/out of our garage.
Had another eye exam/injection on Friday, the Dr said there has been significant improvement! YEAH!!! And, most likely will be having appointments spread out longer apart.
Kev, that sure is cool job you guys did. Definetly looks like it would be fun! Good Work!
Buckeye, Did you get the present the Chief sent yet? Must be pretty big!
Dennis, I hope it works out well for you and the Del Sol! Never give up on it.
Roy, You need to hurry up on the porch before it gets too hot!
Fife, "Curly Top", boy did I HATE that when I was a kid! He might really take you seriously, be careful. I know you mean well!!
Brent, Hope things don't get backed up, having to wait till Friday! But I'm sure you will come up with an alternative.
Take care all and stay safe!
Oh Yeah, our Gov, has decided to shut down the bars again, in 9 counties! Of course LA is one. Hope people comply!
Don
Evening FellasJust a quick drive-in and out.Been installing a tile floor in the basement powder room (we had it roughed in during the build), have to wait till Wednesday to grout. Hope to have the toilet and vanity in Friday. Then need to move on to finishing the stair rail on the steps to the new patio.Fife - no worries. I'm still trying to find my way to Fifedom. My the grandpups have grown! Buckeye - looks like some nice progress on the layout! Always fun seeing pics of your grandsons running the trains.Gotta run...TTFN

Roy, Terry (about 12 years younger) was running the bobcat, I was shooting the grade with Mark and passing out the beer!!!!
Hot one today on The North Bluff. Just chilled out.
Be good guys!

Morning. 94 and sunny. Back to watering. 40% chance of scattered showers [mainly south].
Finally got Buckeye's birthday present in the mail. Such a big box, USPS would not ship it by ground. ??? Think they are getting worse and worse.
Have a great week ahead.
SirJames, you are a G-E-N-I-O-U-S !!!
I'm checking in with sun and Hi 80's for today. So far my excitement for the morning is doing a load of laundry and turning the dishwasher on. No not that way. No plans for the day, we are doing our best to avoid the Chinese plague.
Mornin' boys. Damp, but clearing in the Potomac Highlands. Yesterday was a mixed bag, but ended well when the curly top and I ran trains for a half hour, no pile-ups. And that has to be a new record for the boy. His "viewing platform" is Grandmom's fancy step ladder.
Roy - Only 1309 has funding for work, nothing else. Buckeye may need a stunt double...
Morning. 97 and watering. No rain even though guessers said rain.
Was out early delivering produce boxes. Had to pickup a new trailer park. Seems volunteers are going back to work or getting tired. I did get more help. When I got home, started watering garden after picking it.
Now doing Wifey garden beds.
Hope all are OK. Enjoy the weekend.
Welcome back,
Made it through 5 days of guy things up north. A mixed bag on the COVID thing, some places open others not. Left up to the owners. Some have been using the free GOV hand out to remodel and got caught when the state opened before they thought it would. We did get the site done for Mark's new cabin so that worked out well. It will be a walk out basement in the side of a hill.
I got my test results from my blood draw and they say I have not been exposed to COVID? Or my antibodies are to low for the test to measure?
My one friend up there won't wear a mask but won't go out to eat so we cooked everything on the grill,,,WTH???? I gave him one of my new masks and I told him next time he sees an 91 year old man with his 87 year old wife looking scared as he!! of him as they are walking in the store to just PUT on A MASK.
Rich, prayers for your mom!
Don, OMG your car!
Some shots from there.
Morning folks!
Typ weather - enjoying that!
Dennis - glad you found the parts you needed. Good luck getting them installed!
Fife - steamer - you mean the 1309 or the ones WMSR regularly run?
DonB - great news re the El Cam!
Fife - TAZ - good reference!
Emperor of the North - great movie! So Buckeye and Fife gonna duke it out? Video?
Overcast, muggy, and 80's for the day. Big storms rolling across lower Mi, during the night missed us. I found about 1/4 inch of rain in my coffee can rain gauge. Except for our kids we have stayed home as much as possible. So I have no breaking news.
Mornin' boys. Warm and muggy in the Potomac Highlands. Not sure what's on the agenda, but it's usually go-go-go when oldest princess is here.
Yesterday, stopped by railyard after youngest dental appt. Things are slowly moving forward on the steamer. Chatted with the big boss for a few minutes. Then we headed up to my folks' place, and the boy, youngest princess and I went fishing for several hours. Pretty sure he caught 2 dozen bluegills, using diced up hotdogs. Returned home to oldest princess, middle princess, and the curly-top. We had pizza-pizza for din-din. The youngest grandson moves through the house like TAZ!
