Evening folks!

A very warm but pleasant day. Unfortunately I strained my lower back again - simply kneeled down and then stood back up. So this evening is heating pad and ice packs.

Back at it, as it is Monday......

Friday night Jenni and I attended the Trenton Thunder game and the Thunder were 5-3 winners.

Saturday we got a late start and got to the train show late, but we got there.....I picked up my 2026 which is full TMCC, disappointed there is no sound.  I'll need to see if I can get smoke in the engine, I didn't give him a smoke unit and the fan smoke would not fit.  I may check into a generic sound board that I can put in.  It has LEDs for the headlights and where the green jewels were, there are now green LEDs and a back up light as well as 2 red ones in the tender.  Runs VERY well as I tested it yesterday in conventional mode.  The K-Line GG1 I haven't tested yet.  Then took Jenni on a tour of North Brunswick where I grew up and where all my relatives used to live (all on the same street!!) and the family church in New Brunswick.  Had Chinese for dinner then sprinted off to Manahawkin for a visit with Jenni's parents and her niece and nephew.

Sunday we didn't do much, I got the lawn cut and weed wacked, did the laundry and cat litter.  Went out on the bike and did some light grocery shopping with Jenni.  Had dinner at KFC.  Finished up the night on the porch with Ice Cream and Ice Tea.  It was a beautiful weekend weather wise.

It was chilly this morning, as I rode the bike into work.  The windshield isn't on the bike and that was a mistake for long distance commuting.  Jenni is bringing me lunch and my windshield so it'll be a better ride home......

80's and sun today. Storms and rain tomorrow......

A bit late posting, so need to get back to work.  On scan #9 and the queue is VERY high.....I have my own issues here....lol!

Monday in Virginia and this bloody heat still won't quit!  In the 90's today and I'm getting fed up with walking out to a red-hot car.

Well, the only thing that keeps me going is the thought...

Good evening all,

Good day at work.  Got to work ok, but left home 20 minutes early.  Home trip took 15-20 minutes more.  Off and on rain today.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Evening folks!

Another warm one at 96 today. The back is better. I was able to work it out while working on a window project that allowed me to stand the entire time. Bad on the feet but good on the back (I know, sounds backwards doesn't it).

Anj - glad the 2026 TMCC works well! Did he use the ElectricRR boards?

Evening,

Weather is very pleasant here, but suppose to go to the triple digits later this week!

Spent the day refurbishing some Redwood patio furniture.  They been sitting around here for 30 years, in pieces.  Surprising how well they look after taking a belt sander to them.

Roy, glad to hear your feeling better.

Take care all, be safe!

Good Morning.

Short night last night, had to run to the hospital after work, Dad has been admitted for a tumor on the left scapula.  It got so painful, Mom called the ambulance, he had bee dealing with the for 2 and a half months now.  Hope to see some progress, it was moving the bone, that's why the pain was so bad.  We'll see what progress, if any, the docs will make to get this under control.

Jenni brought my windshield (for the bike, I rode in) and lunch to work yesterday, prior to Dad being admitted, so it was nice we had some time together.  She also carted me around last night and was a big help and support for the family.  My sister works close by, so she was there in short order.

Looking for storms and flooding rains yet again, we covered the road runner and moved the bikes next to the house in case the weather was as bad as it's predicted, heavy rains, thunder and hail. Hopefully not so much.....

Roy - Not sure what boards he used, but after 5 years, I was just happy to get it back!!  Need to get a smoke unit in that thing, should be an easy job, just have to watch the wires.

Just got a call from my sister, looks like Dad is in for 2 days, I have to attend a viewing tonight so, we'll go there for a few then head to the hospital.

Mornin' boys.  Overcast and 70, with StormStormStorm forecast all day.  Wifey heard the bear last night outside.  She said it made a "wacca-wacca from Star Wars" sound outside.  Well which was it, Chewbacca or Fozzy...?  (She is pretty.)  She said the former.  And it did have a party with the bird feeder, and the trash can (already cleaned that up).

I "won" a Dept 56 Red Lion beer wagon, which description advised it was previously broken, but "repaired".  Folks, if something is a basket case, say so, then price accordingly.  It arrived with 9 broken pieces off the wagon, and horse, and was missing a broken piece.  Undaunted, I proceeded to piece everything back together (even filling and sculpting the missing tail section), and repaint the pony.  Project was satisfying enough for me, so all good.  Plus, the base was separated, which appeals to my intents as well.

Hits and misses from Lowe's.  Did buy the outside patio porch swing, originally $225, now $149.  Messed up on the kitchen sink light; bought the plug one and needed the hard-wire version.  Oh, and picked up a six pack of Perma-R styrofoam, because Wifey wants to expand her North Pole Village display this Christmas.

Dunce

Happy B-Day KRM - belatedly.

Thanks guys for the birthday wishes,

Kinda had a scare today.

Wife had a real bad time coming out of it today. Took an hour and a half and should of been 20 minutes. Her BP dropped so low it set off the alarms after they gave her a Fentanyl Injection through the IV for pain, all the lines went flat.   She had 5 or 7, (I forget,) polyps removed and four hemorrhoids banded. She is still out of it. She goes back in 3 years. She is resting now.

Best get.

Evening,

Happy belated Happy Birthday, Kev.  Sure its one you won't forget, glad your wife is improving, prayers for her and family.

Going to the VA for a follow-up mtg.  Had a sleep study done last APRIL,  they scheduled me for the result consultation in August.  Not expecting to learn much, if there was I would think they would have contacted me.

The more I do around here, the more I realize that I need to do.  Noticed the side gates that lead to our back yard, needs replacing.  So much dry rot, I dont know what is keeping them together.  Oh well.

Not much else going on, so wishing all well and stay safe.

Morning.  Had rain late yesterday.  Good trip east.  Built two sets of stairs for box stands.  Got to build one more set.  Will give us 5.  Better than climbing straight up on metal steps.

Chain saws.  Got a small one and a monster Stihl.  So big it has pressure relief to crank.  Haven't cranked it in 4 years.  Too heavy for this old man.  Best thing I ever bought is Stihl power head and brush cutter.  Cuts saplins and small trees.  Never bend over.

Morning all.

Chain saws I have two, one is 12" blade on end of a pole but can be removed to be used, and the other has a 16" blade I think. Both where bought for doing some triming around the house at the last place. Because they told me I couldn't operate a gas chain saw with my difibralator I bought electric and they do fine for the little I do with them.

Not much going on here today.

Train wise my big purchase for the month is 32 pieces of straight O gauge track.

I second that Chief!! Yes

I sure like mine. As for my chainsaw I am still using my Jonsered 49SP with a 16" bar I got back in around 1977. It has sure cut a lot of wood and still going strong. It looks like this one.

KEV, I still have stored a Homelite C5 I bought when I was 16.  Cut saw logs, pulpwood, and bar-b-q wood with it.  Was NC FFA State Forestry Winner in 1964.  All done with that saw.  Then lots of chores around the house after that.  When I lived in southern Wake County, lots of firewood for fire place.  Was advertised as light weight.  21 lbs.  How they have changed over the years.

We are having nice weather but we need rain. Lot of rain in the state but almost all of it has missed us.

Good evening all,

Well, I resigned as assistant soccer coach tonight.  As Roger Ward stated at the 1966 Victory Dinner, "It wasn't fun any more."  I love the sport, love the kids, but was doing no one any good and sooner or later the kids would see the lack of enthusiasm.  You have to know when to walk away and it was time.  Will still go to the games.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
