Good evening all,
Stormy day weather wise. Home soccer game postponed. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good morning!
He's baaaaacccccck!
Sunny this morn. Temps moderated yesterday when we got chased off the lake with t-storms. Son did get a couple ski runs along with one of our friend's daughter.
Brent - new abode lookin good!
Phish - glad the ms is doing well with the recovery.
Chief - skippin' da gov....
Anj - busy weekend, glad your dad is home!
Regards, Roy
88 - I wasn't direct. Is the new layout going in the bay to the left, or the double bay to the right...?
Buckeye - I would be happy to go to just one of those places (not Indianna). What time is the slide show?
Phish - those little Rangers are hard to find, after "cash4clunkers".
Good morning from the Valley.
It has been about three weeks since I posted. During that time, we were in England, Ireland, Scotland and France on a cruise. We rode the trains several times in London and also took a train north to see my cousin. After arriving home, we left for the Pocono Mtn. and took care of the grandsons for a week. The next stop was our hometown, Auburn, IN for my 50th High School reunion. Everyone looked older than me.
Today I am attending a bridge conference in Columbus for continuing education.
Basement is finished so now the layout can start.
Don… Safe travels.

Quiet day at work. Tried a new way home tonight. Not much better. Only 4 more days of this headache. Did nothing tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good evening from beautiful 84°F Southern Ohio,
It was a busy weekend. Last week we bought a 1998 Ranger pickup for the kids. Seems like a nice truck. It’s got a 4 cyl 5 speed manual, so I was teaching the kids how to drive a standard.
I also started washing down the garages and house to prep to re-stain. The garages are done and probably start the house this coming weekend. Nothing new on the train front.
Bride still recovering and has been getting ready for the start of school this week.
Don - the road trip sounds like it would be fun.
Rich - Prayers for your Dad
Brent - sound like the house is moving along
May God bless you and your families
Jim
Happy Monday...................Dad got home on Friday, still in pain, but 2 rounds of radiation done, another today and then Tuesday and Wednesday, then out for eval to see if more are needed. Thanks again for the thought and prayers, they mean a lot to us and Dad. He is a 18 year cancer survivor, hoping this trend continues.Friday we did a visit to the parents, had dinner ( I made wide egg noodles, browned hamburger meat spiced with beef gravy) and then to bed. Saturday we were up for the 9/11 run through town, we did laundry and I BBQ'd (and almost my hand...don't ask....lol) and watched Dogma via YouTube (which the quality sucked, funny movie), stayed up to mach a movie with the kids, but was back in bed by midnight.Sunday we stayed home. I got the bug and cleaned up the bedroom, cleaned out all the drawers and split everything up, hung up clothes and put them in the closet. Put away all the blankets and comforters my Mom gave us. Hung up some of our diecast car collection and vacuumed. Will need to attack the dresser top and the TV Shelf, just ran out of time, it was dinner time at that point. BBQ Chicken, corn, potato wedges and mac and cheese with Arizona Ice Tea with Dixie Cup ice cream for dessert.Busy week ahead, with softball done (and that sucks), overtime will become a priority. With OT available, I'll be taking advantage of that BIG TIME!!.Real Feel Temps in the 100's today, I did not get the road runner out of the driveway. Probably tomorrow. Temps will not break until Thursday. The sub-tropical weather will persist, hot, humid and threats of storms and thunderstorms in the afternoon...sounds like FLA USA

Afternoon FellasProgress on the house is moving along. We have our 'tentative closing date', so now really looking forward to getting her done and moved in!

Afternoon all!
Pretty warm at 97 (predicted) today. Cloudy start and then cleared off.
Just back from groceries run. Also picked up a couple items as Harbor Freight. Needed a short handsaw for final cuts in window sills I have been making. Had been using a hack saw. Also got an infrared thermometer (so I can check the boat transmission case temp), and a general carpenters adjustable square.
DonB - safe travels!
Michael - good to have you drop in.
Banks.....
Ct is charging sales tax on Ebay too. Last I heard it was like 11 states. Kind of makes it harder to find a good deal with the outrageous shipping charges, and now tax...
Busy as a cat in a cream factory.
Don, safe trip.
Hello there,
At chiropractor, get up most mornings with a stiff back and it loosens right up. Not today.
Rich....lots of traction is good if you're ready for it. Dirt is unpredictable. Not enough clutch on a tight track will bog the engine, wheelie or both. On a lose track letting it go to soon all you get is wheelspin.
I've gotten a couple of Gilbert items off the bay recently for cheap. Summer is a good time for that. Got a surprise on my credit card statement, seems PA is requiring online sellers to charge the 6% sales tax and submit it on any thing shipped to PA. Wasn't on my last statement. Anybody else have this issue
Don....how far east you going Prayers for those in need

Evening All,Rich, Hope your Dad is doing better!Watched the NASCAR races this weekend, enjoyed them. Especially from Bristol. Saturday night we went to Perris Speedway and watched the Sprint cars, races were great, but getting there took over 2 hours! All due to bumper to bumper traffic. Also I've been busy around here, I've decided I'm going to take a road trip. So not that I'm a "regular" poster, but I might be absent for awhile. Not sure exactly where I'm going or how long I'll be gone, (sounds obscure, huh), but going to head east. Did a lot of work on the El Camino in the past week, and everything is a go. Oh yeah, the kicker is I'm going to do this trip solo! Everything is great here no issues or problems, just an itch I want to scratch, while I am able. Do have a couple of train related venues on my schedule. So take care all and be safe!
Don
Not as good as I hoped, but still another top ten today for TK. Leist was 14th. Took all the collected sticks out front today and raked under the hard maple for another pile more of limbs. Grass is flat disappearing from yard in spots. May not have to mow for a while. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hello there, Busy week,
Son combined oats last weekend. A friend and I baled the straw Monday afternoon.
Other activities this week were helping clean up and put away the church festival, a couple of appointments and getting a painter started the trim on my house.
Son started plowing down the oats stubble Friday getting ready to plant hay.
A fair night at the drags last night. Grandson got 2nd in both his classes. He's getting faster but so are the others. Unusually large dial in class last night 44 entries, son went out in the round of 9. I put him in a rut with more traction than he expected.
Getting ready now for Mrs' family reunion. Gotta go
Prayers for those in need.
Gonna be hot and storms in Chicago are headed our way. We need rain but storms do too much damage. We are tired today, had a long Saturday at daughters house for a graduation party.

Morning. Church and then family reunion down east.
Yes Roy, Ray? Hope OK.
Dennis, good to hear from you.
Doug, get rid of that walker.
Have a great week ahead.
Found it! That Colber bubbling water tower was stored away deep in the downstairs closet. Disassembled it, cleaned it, and painted it with flat black, with an oxide red dusting. I kept the base in its original gray marble color. This "shrunk" the structure, appearance wise, and it compliments the tin "rancher/factory" I customized this past year. I also came up with a couple boxes of stuff to sell at next May's local train show.
Good NASCAR race.
Morning all!
Sunny and maybe 98 today
Enjoying some coffee
MikeC - for your good day!
Finally a good day. TK set fast time in practice at Pocono. No qualifying due to rain so Foyt team starts in back, but there are plenty of places to pass and Tony does know how to pass. Back in 1973, AJ turned a terrible season around with a win at Pocono. Maybe history will repeat itself and the 14 car will be P1 again. Also, "my" soccer girls have already improved over last season with a season starting tie 2-2. I hope everyone has a good day.
Dennis, I was always a fan of the "Monster Miata" pretty much the same as the Alpine Tiger of many decades ago. Still see a Tiger every now and then but I don't remember ever seeing one of the Monsters. The Miata was modified here in Escondido, bummer they were discontinued.
Rich, Prayers for your Pop, hope the procedure is 100% successful.
Still married to this darn walker, hopefully will be finished soon. I can still hear my BetterHalf, after being so empathetic and compassionate, saying "what were you thinking".
No train news, can't do much of anything without catching hell from somebaody.
Later all.

Morning. Hot and humid. Mow grass as rained every afternoon this week. Glad it has as crops are doing well.
Have a good one.
Morning folks!
Sunny and mid 90's for today. Nice late summer weather. Calm winds and water made for some nice boating yesterday. Son is getting his water skiing time.
Sat out last night with neighbors at their fire pit after dinner. Chief, lifted some more glasses!
Dennis - cool you got those comparisons.
Hope Ray is doing ok?
Anj - continued prayers for your dad.
Fife - stealth bear? Good layout progress!
MikeC - 5K - nice goal!
Mornin' boys. Sunny and 67 along the Allegany front range. Bear did not visit last night. It's been by several times over the past week, but the Terra brand trail cam just isn't capturing him. Need to tweek on this, I guess.
Work continues in the train room, as I've installed the red-brick roadways, concrete finial guard rails, colorfull spring trees, and hundreds of flowering annuals. My town of Cumberland is looking complete (sans lighting), and now I'm working "south" along that wall, including an access to hidden trackage with a "pull-out" industry. I need to locate my old Colber water tower and repaint it.
Quiet day at work. Wife and I went for a walk. First step toward her doing a 5K in a few years. Comfortable weather. I hope everyone has a good day.
TGIF!!!!Dad update: 1st round of radiation completed, he got through that ok. Next round will be at 5 PM today. Hopefully he can go home tonight. Jenni and I will stop at my house, I'll change and we'll run up to the hospital.I don't have any saws, the one I had I left with the ex so she could make her own broomstick......
MikeC - Yeah, tough decision, as long as it's on your terms, it should be fine. This is one reason I don't manage/coach a softball/baseball team. I'm just happy to play.
Well, it's finally arrived, the 50th Anniversary Weekend.....we were going to have a BBQ and a small car meet, but, alas, the dollars don't exist. Hence, we will celebrate by driving the snot out of the roadrunner on Monday. August 19th, 1969, my road runner was built (Hey, Brutus!!) in St. Louis II plant in Missouri. Jenni and I were going through some of my dash plaques dating back to the early 80s. We've come a long way......what a long strange trip it has been. The 50th anniversary tour will commence Monday and currently, we will be going to Middletown, DE (NEHOA Meet) and Wildwood, NJ (Fireman's Convention)There will be other shows, just nothing planned right now.9/11 run comes through Hightstown tomorrow, we will be there about 130-2 PM - Fife, they should be running through Cumberland right about......NOW.80s today, upper 80s tomorrow, 90s on Sunday, 90s on Monday.PS - Yesterday was a disaster, 150 of us were hacked and I wasn't back on line until 330 PM....all systems working as of now.
Morning. Hot and humid as always. We did have a nice shower last night.
Not much on agenda. Wifey is suppose to go to the beach to visit Niece with her Sister. We'll see if the wind changes.
Strained back. Brent, working hard. Roy, lifting his glass too much.
Have a happy day.
Evening folks!
A beautiful day today. Low 90's and low hoomidity. We'll take it!
Burned some boat gas today and took son water skiing. He has a nice mid-August 2 week break between semesters.
MikeC - I know how you feel. I volunteered for many years coaching soccer and Bball. Scouts, robotics, band parent, etc. I continued even after my kids moved on. I finally had to call it quits - with a big contributor that the support from the school district faded which made it very hard. I treasure those times.
Brent - I strained my lower back a few days ago and that led to multiple comments. So glad a lot of things in your world are moving positively!
Brent, got to agree with everyone else. Please, please be careful. I don't touch those things myself and most people here know about my snowblower manicure. Thanks for all the support folks. Not an easy decision but one I can sleep easier with having made it. Quiet day at work. I hope everyone has a good day.
