Morning folks!
Cloudy, some rain, 'Barry' effects. 70's now and maybe 81 today.
Finshed the flagstone under the deck yesterday. Filled with pea gravel. Came out good.
Went to a new restaurant last night. A bit pricy but good food/service. Best crab cake in some time as an appetizer. I had pecan crusted Mahi-Mahi and the ms had scallops.
Great last lap finish in the KY NASCAR race last night. Busch bros bumping/pushing/side drafting and the older bro Kurt won. Younger Busch visibly PO'd after the race.
Flintlock - cash in the pocket and space in da closet!
Banks - glad the trip went well!
MikeC - for the good day yesterday!
Chief - glad the back is better!
Regards, Roy
Good evening all,
A good day. Got house ready for visit with New Mexico friends and had a nice evening with them. Foyt team did what I expected at Toronto. Went to Mass tonight as well. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Hello there, Back from da beach! !!!
Wupped
Been a long day. Traffic delays but not as bad as usual. I did skirt around one area that's usually bad. Car unloaded, dogs picked up from doggie hotel.
Now waiting on a calzone at our favorite Italian place. Then home for some wine and crash.
Flintlock. .....glad to see you posting here. Congas on your success. I've never been to a summer train show. I'm always skeptical of dealer attendance. Plus summer just isn't train season for me.
Gotta go
Prayers for those in need

Thanks Mr. McClellan!
Not a bad day at the show. Sold about a third of what I brought, which was better than some exhibitors did. Good attendance by the public, about 500 walk-ins, good mix of families in addition to toy train fans, so the club did well. We might have done better if it wasn't so bloody hot, temps in the 90's here.
The day went faster than I thought it would, not boring at all.
Pretty good day all 'round.
Hot and humid. Not rain as forecasted yesterday. 60% state-wide and nothing at all anywhere. ????
Back injections doing great so far.
Have a good one.
Been a very busy last couple days. Finished staining the dock and laid flagstone under the back deck where nothing grows. As Banks would say, wupped...
Flintlock - good luck with the 'herd' management!
Ray - glad you are feeling better!
Dennis - sorry about your friend's passing
Phish - prayers for successful surgery on your wife's neck. I have several friends that had that done and all came out well.
Finally caught up at work. Weather much more comfortable. Mowed the yard with the big mower tonight. All went well for once. Got done in less than 2 hours. Foyt team bad at Toronto practice. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Evening from beautiful 75°F Southern Ohio,
Another busy week at work. I was covering two crews all week and Monday I had to hold over onto nights and that made for a 16 hour day.
The Trainarama I won on Ebay came and it is in really nice shape. It will look great along the back wall of the layout.
My bride is going to have a couple of vertebrae in her neck fused together this coming week and I’m taking off a few days to be with her.
The kids are spending the night with the other grandparents so we went out for dinner.
Good night and may God bless you and your families
Jim
Heading to a train meet tomorrow, rented two tables because I really need to "thin the herd" a bit. Way too much rolling stock I don't use at all.
Tagged the merchandise and loaded the Hy-yun-dai-yay and sweated off five pounds doing so, man it's HOT down here! Humid too!
Wish me luck all!
Morning. Had some rain yesterday. Farms did too. Suppsoe to get more this afternoon.
New back injections this afternoon.

Fife...Did you see the Amtrak video at horseshoe just after the freight derailed?
Inching forward to starting new layout. Grandson saw the plan and gave it a A+, but he wants me to model a 18 hole golf course. I kept all my benchwork L-girders, joists and legs from the old layout.
My old laptop computer's keyboard is on its last legs. It is erratic. Sometimes you never know what you are going to get when typing.

Don B, as you know, I have been fighting those dermatology problems for months with itchy feet. I have given up any permanent fix and I think the doctor has too. Mean time, the lotion seems to work temporarily. Best I can hope for. We are having a small breakfast gathering of train friends tomorrow A.M. Our group is getting smaller. Had a couple of good days back to back. Hope for another one tomorrow.

Banks Hello there, the week at Fenwick Island is about over. Hasn't been restful but lots o fun. Rainy day Monday. Kids wetto the outlets. Mrs and I visited Assateaque, had it pretty much to ourselves. Sat in the car and watched the bay while reading after traveling the island looking for horses. Visited Toy Town on the return trip. The new location in Berlin MD is a small fraction of the original space. The employee that I talked to said the Snow Hill store should be reopening in about a month. I gathered from a couple of internet news pieces the town shut that store due to safety concerns the owner says are trumped up. I did come away with an Athearn SD45 in PRR livery, a Revell station kit from the 50s and a Precious Moments wedding cake topper for the Mrs. Tuesday was a beach and pool day. Yesterday a trip to the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen state park. Today Mrs and I relaxed by the bay on Assateaque, son and crew visited the Salisbury Zoo while daughters crew beached. We all gathered at a local establishment for dinner before returning to condo to reload. Got Roto Rooter round 2 scheduled for Oct 22 after returning from York. Mike C........that kind of service calls for a really small tip. Bed is calling. Prayers for those in need. PS ....Ray learned some interesting stuff about follow up appointments with folks after a hospital visit. Primary doc called and wanted to schedule a follow-up. I said waste of time. Was told without a follow-up appointment insurance company would balk at paying for hospital stay........

Banks,
I must have just missed you. Got to Assateague around 8:30PM on Saturday, 7/6. My folks are still in the state park until 7/15, but I came home on Wednesday. I went to Toy Town on Monday (had nothing better to do due to the storms) but didn't buy anything.
Work went well. Went to see Yesterday. Good flick. Went to eat out afterwards. Food good. Service ok. Took forever to pay bill. Should have just walked out, but too honest. After mentioning the delay to the person who finally took the money, they got indignant at my comments instead of apologizing for the wait. Watched Izombie. Good episode. I hope everyone has a good day.
Evening All,
Glad to hear from you Ray, hope the home assistance is going well! I sure think its a great idea! Try to stay cool I hear we've got some hot days ahead.Had a couple of casual days, spent most of the day putzing around in the TR, cleaning stuff, reorganizing other, and listening to music. Classic Country, boy those songs bring back tons of memories, and the songs themselves are so filled with feelings. I wonder where the classics of today will come from.Wife hosting a Bunko group tomorrow night, so I did help her out, vacumed and washed winders. Even went on a bike ride today. My new normal is spent here most days alone, so I end up talking to all the solicitors, get anywhere from 8 to 12 a day. Of course I just give them a bad time. Today one guy called and advised me to accept a call coming in the next 12 to 48 hours from their "expert solar technican". So I asked him what was the purpose of HIS call, replied to ensure I answer the expert's upcoming call. That was a new one! I told him IF he can't call me directly I wont talk with him. He went on, and on. I kept asking him questions and he finally hung up. I think I'm going to schedule one of these guys to come out, and waste their time.Oh, one other thing, had a dermatology follow up appt. yesterday. (Some silly thing been going on for about 2 months, little random red spots and itch like hell.) A month ago they gave me some lotion and that stopped the itching. The Dr said they honestly don't know what it is, and recommended some additional testing. I CAN'T believe what they want me to do! A complete blood work up (not too bad), but a chest X-Ray (huh?) and a colonoscopy! (Gotta be kiddin'!), then if nothing identified, have me go through the allergy battery of tests. Then scheduled they follow up appt for late October!! So don't think I'm doing any of that stuff, continue with the lotion and cancel the follow up appt..
Take care all and stay dry and healthy.
Don
Good morning all.
Just checking in. Went to breakfast yesterday with church group for the first time in several weeks. Had a busy day and the effort must have worn limited energy out. Slept a lot last night off and on. Got up late and after taking meds, had a light breakfast. My appetite is doing good now although I have lost about 34 lbs in the last few weeks without trying. I feel better since I am not hauling all that extra weight. I finally got date for my first therapy which will be on July 17th. They are also treating me to strenghthen by bones which I am glad to hear about. My thoughts about what to do with my trains eventually is on hold for now. Too many other things to worry about. I have let some of my magazines expire. I have too many anyway.
Mornin' boys. 72 with approaching headed into the Potomac Highlands. Hang in there Maxie... Took youngest princess driving yesterday, and she looks like a lilliputian behind the wheel of the Durango. I had her practice parallel parking behind a CAT 953C; no pressure there. Middle Princess and hubby invited us and his folks for steaks on the grill last night. Nice time.
FifeQueen returning to fifedom tonight. Best get cleaning...
Chief - I just missed seeing that roll-over at Horseshoe Curve on Virtual Railfan. Looked like the empty center-beam flatcars "stringlined" near the vistor's center.
A new webcam I've been enjoying lately is the Tokyo Live Camera ch1. If you love passenger trains, there appears to be a dozen every 3 minutes at this location. Awesome at night. I remember Joe living there for a time.
Good Morning!!!Went 1 for 4 in the loss last night, eeked out a double in a short 2 out rally in the top of the 7th and scored. We lost 12-7, playing 3rd base, made some nice plays and a couple crappy ones....Weather service is calling for storms and heavy rain in the 6-8PM hours, not really interested in driving through weather like that, so Jenni and I are leaving at 0600 tomorrow morning. She got a room last minute and will be attending Carlisle. Friday weather will be markedly better and the trip should work out that we can run together and I'll feel better about it. I'll still be staying with the guys and she is cool with that. Sunny right now, 70's and clear. Storms arriving in about 4 then clearing tomorrow at 6 AM. Supposed to go to Mopar Night at the Robbinsville Cruise at Friendly's Restaurant.
Fife - nice, thank you!! I'll check that out when I get back. The old contruction of the house makes the spacing of the studs a bit archaic, appears that the rafters were installed by eye rather than by maeasure. Looks like it can be trimmed by razor knife and straight edge and I have both. I'm just trying to figure out what to do about the wall board......
Work is calling so back I go....check back later

Dennis, these are regular cardboard boxes. Most of Lionel collection that had boxes are from sets. A lot of separate items were acquired at shows without any box. Busy at work again. Won last regular game of season tonight 5-0. Other team only had 10 players and we had 4 subs. Heat and humidity did the rest. I hope everyone has a good day.

anjdevil- For your insulation scenario for the train room, I like the OwensCorning insulated wall panel system, but the $100/panel is stiffling. Lowe's offers Perma R insulated sheets, made for garage doors. Their small size would allow for easy handling, and at $8 a panel, easier on the pocket. Read the reviews.
Trip to the farms and spraying was great. Busy day today. Lots of bucks with nice racks [in velvet] on trail cameras.
Happy Happy Hump Day!!I survived the Line/Exec Meeting last night, it was short, spoke with my fellow Trustee about her upcoming wedding plans and her widowed Mom is dating (!), so it was nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of and give advice to. Since I literally went from the car to the house to the firehouse, I had dinner at Taco Bell, afterwards had a nice talk with Mom. Tonight BACK to softball, thank goodness, I need to get out and get my hacks, hopefully hit 'em where they ain't!!! Jenni will meet me there.I am rethinking about leaving tomorrow night, there is supposed to be SEVERE storms in the evening and I'm not sure I want to drive a 50 year old topless muscle car in the rain (2"+ supposedly!), it's not meant to handle on curves (think drag strip!). But we will see, I need to pack first. I found a motel room for Jenni and she'll be there in her Charger on Saturday. We'll do breakfast on Sunday and we will follow each other home.Still not much on the trains, which sucks, but the heat in the attic makes it unbearable. RT - Nice progress on the garage!!OK, time to work, check back later !!
Busy day at work. Still warm outside. Starting working on getting rid of boxes in barn loft. Lot more than I thought. Filled receycling bin. Have to wait until it is empty to fill again. Last regular season for my league Wednesday, weather permitting. I hope everyone has a good day.
Low 90's and Hot! Tolerable
Spent last 2 days restaining the flat surfaces of the boat dock. 5 G of stain and the neighbor helped! Got 'er done!
Anj - glad to see lots o' things are working out!
Ray - so good to hear from you!
SJ - nice about your favorite temps to enjoy the porch!
8n - glad you are finally on the road!
Chief - well, you're da Chief doin Chief stuff!
RT - garage conversion looks great! impressive!
Flintlock - imagine growing up in Houston with no A/C and an attic fan.
MikeC - track 'em down!
Sun and 80s today.
Weather has finally been nice. We sat out last nite till dusk. Veggies are growing. We are harvesting green beans but the rest is still maturing. Due to the wet spring they got a late start. No toy train news.

Morning all,
Been slowly but surely been converting my garage into a train room. To get into the garage because of how they had the drive way, was to tight for me to get my truck into it without having to back up and get the truck set up usually 2 times once in a while I did it just backing up and getting it so it would go in, I have a cover canope for it to park under anyway which is fine. So there is no more garage door
This was the area of the garage door
So I found some paneling that looked like brick and this is what I'm using seeing the one wall is already brick.
The first two pictures is the long wall we had to do ( about 25')
Here is the only wall with a window, it faces the road.
and finally where the garage door was,
Still have some work to do but it is mainly there. Figure about another day or two and the walls will be done. I then plan to get it all straightened up and do a 4' 8' as a very temporary layout, so I can run trains. My now plan is to get a 14' x 20' shed whwere I presently have a old crappy shed that must be about 20 years old, it's the old metal type. I will have to move all in there into what is now the train room and take that apart and haul it off. Then I can move the shop into the new shed and still have room for storage in there of the lawn equiptment. Which will give me the whole 16' X 25' for the train room. one are by the entrance door I will have about a 4' X 11' for stairs from the house ( were going to take what was a window ( the garage was added onto the house years later so the two windows in the end bedrooms are gone but boarde up and you can tell from the garage side. and make it into a door so I can go from the house into the garage with out having to go out side.
Well I guess I got long winded enough for today
Talk to you all later, have a good day
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

Hey, Good Morning!!Cooled off after the rains yesterday, which was fine. Got 11 done and had a tech call to round out the day. There would have been at least 2 more tech calls, but I was busy enough that I couldn't answer.I met Jenni after work and got her a key, she had more errands to run, met up with me afterwards so she could cut my hair. Was home by 11. Trying to prep for Carlisle and haven't had much success. Need to clean and wax the roadrunner. Trunk floor looks fantastic!!Sunny and mild the rest of the week. Depending on whether I can get the Jetta lease bought out, I may do that Thursday after work. Needs to be certified and that will roll into the payments. That gives me another 2 years of warranty. Hope to get that done either this week or next.Doing one now, hope to get busy soon, I hate doing the phone calls, but it is what it is. Edison Train Show is August 10-11, Jenni wants to go and I am pleased about that. We take an interest in each other's hobbies and it doesn't hurt that there are die cast cars at Edison as well. We won't mention the slot car track, either....lol!Flintlock - I have to start looking at insualtion for the attic to start. I have $200 in HD gift cards just for that purpose. Of course the next trick is to figure out the wall covering, as wall board just will NOT fit up the stair wells and into the attic. Cutting it up into pieces is not a good option, not a fan of spackle and tape....
I may check into the house fan and estimate cost while I'm at the Depot.
Just got another scan, so I'm gonna boogie.....
