Hello there,

weather here was lousy all day. Freezing rain for a while then warm just enough to melt it. Next  thing it's freezing again. Was still freezing when the dogs had last call.

Watched Band Of Brothers through part 4 so far. Also working on some Mom stuff.

Dentist had a cancellation so I got my broken tooth fixed today along with s warning if it happens again it'll need a crown.

Found a  buyer for the Blazer 1K as is. Coulda probably got more with it inspected but it would've cost a couple hundred to get it done.

8N ......best wishes for the Mrs and good luck with the robot team.

Phish......I remember you getting ordained  a deacon and getting your grandkids shortly after I joined the Pot. Don't seem that long.

Best get to sleep.

Prayers for those in need

40 degress this AM, teens tonight.  Full range of precipitation.

Still asorbing the catalog.  Interesting that the LC+2.0 LM Big Boy is almost $300 more than it's Legacy predecessor.  Seems like a big jump.  Really like the content though.  Still mulling over a J.

Hope everyone has a safe day.  Try to stay dry and warm.

RT it is not unusual for cataloged items to take a year OR more. And never depend on posted delivery dates. They seldom happen.

Cloudy and 28 this morning will probably be the warmest of many days to come. Yesterday's 40 melted most of our Saturday snowfall.

17 heading down to -7 tonight. If they are right next week Wed-Fri it won't get above 0. Surprise

Your right about that SJ, still waiting on the set That I ordered last Feb 2nd and now they pushed it to May 16th. Laugh

I did our taxes yesterday and got them sent out to the gov so that is over.

Wife has a dentist apt at 11:00 so I will take her to it. The back roads are real bad out here. Frozen roads with rain = slick as heck!! while she is there I will go to Menards and look around then we will do lunch someplace.

Best get!

I don't mind waiting.  Lionel has been doing ok for most of their offerings lately.  There are exceptions.  I'm pretty confident me getting the new J.  I already have the 606 from the late 90s early 00s.

If this is true,,,,,,,I don't like it!! Next Wed, -6 for a high -19 for a low.

Next week looks like it may be the coldest temps in 25 years since 1994. We had -22 then and that was when the new house in Plainfield got filled with NG because the main line under the street broke and the gas came up through the crawl space. We could of all been killed that night! Got to do some prep for sh!t like what is coming if they are right!

Had the worst lunch I have had for years today at an Arby's in Morris,, YUCK! Ick!

Good evening all,

Extremely busy day at work.  Ok weather for walking today, but we go into the deep freezet tonight.  Put a couple pieces of insulation over the crawl space entrance to try and keep the house warmer and pipes from freezing.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning from a beautiful clear 24°F Southern Ohio,

Going to be a fairly busy day.  There is a funeral at 11 am, Mass at the High School at 1:30 pm swim meet at 4 pm and basketball game at 6 pm that is an hour drive away.  I’ll watch the first race of the swim meet that the youngest is in and leave.

It is really pretty out but windy and cold.  All the critters are fed and watered and doing OK.

Spank – I hear you about draining week.  Yesterday I made one of those statements to your boss that needed to be said but nobody says.  He was pressuring me to hurry and get a steam system ready for a repair and I was completing the necessary steps, and finally said, all your rushing me will not make me short cut the protocalls and procedures to make the system safe to work on.

Banks – Time flyes when you’re having fun!

Time to go and get things ready

May God bless you and your families

Jim

Aloha. -11 so far today but the sun is out. With the current wind, it is - 27. And as Kev says, we're supposed to get even colder next week. Wow! And up to 10 inches of snow Sunday into Monday. Well, that's winter here - I wish it was 63 like in NC! And I have quite a lot of errands and outside things to do this weekend. Well, the weather is sure a good excuse to not do some of them!

At 8:45am is was -3. Not going to get much better for the next week.

Going to do some cold weather prep today.  They are still calling for -22 next week.

I don't think we will get as much snow as DougM will but still plenty. At least if it is snowing it won't be 20 below. I sure hope they are wrong about this. Long spells of cold and at 20 below all kinds of bad things happen.

Hello there,

been doing nuttin and watching Band of Brothers. Finished part 6 today.   I'm glad I read the book before seeing the movie. It makes it much easier to follow the story.

It's hard to imagine the hardship endured by WW2 infantry men. I love to read 1st person accounts of men who served.

Been a crazy week of weather. Snohio to rain to cold. It was 10 when the dogs had last call. Single digit highs a couple o days next week. Mrs had a delay on Wednesday and was canceled yesterday.

Not sure what tomorrow may bring.
Nite all.

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

Work was another bear today.   Ugh.  Lucas is seeing his daughter again.  Worry about him being on the road in this weather.   Roads were good for commute.  Did walk outside today as walking companion had to stay home with kids.  Binged watch TV tonight.  2 episodes of Hill Street Blues and two episodes of He!! on Wheels.  No footie on TV this weekend and no extra church means there might be some train running.  Do have to get Mini practice in on Saturday.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning All!

Another bitter one! Not much on the go this weekend.

Fife - Looking sharp!

Banks - Glad the recovery is coming along. Yes, Band of Brothers is still my all time favorite mini-series. It's incredible, especially the fighting near Bastonge. I believe Major Winters had a farm near Lancaster?

Spank - I ended up having to ban all electronics after 10pm on a school night and midnight on the weekends. If they aren't on the kitchen table when I get up for work, then they are grounded from them. Seems to be working. Now if I could only get my wife off of Netflix.......

Marty - Nothing has caught my attention in the new catalog. Like Kev, I'm still waiting on things I ordered a year ago! The one I thought would be in there and wasn't, was the UP 4141 Bush Funeral Train. Maybe Lionel is doing a one off with those. I know they said something was coming.

Have a good one and prayers.

Rob

A tad chillier here this morning, sitting at -9 at 8:00 AM Got to make the rounds and see how things are holding up after a cup of coffee.

We did get 2.5" of snow yesterday afternoon so that should help insulate the septic some. The drain tube for that is my biggest worry in weather like this.

Looking good Fife

Banks! Angel

Best get moving.

Partly sunny and headed to 56 today. Same for the weekend and then the front hits Mon afternoon.

Finished the control panel/cart for one of the layouts yesterday. There is another large layout that requires three control panels. Son started back to school Wed so I do not have his assistance.

Glad to see most are well - keep resting up Banks! I also read the book before watching the series and you are correct.

Fife - most excellent!

New catalog - Spy vs Spy boxcar!!!

Good evening all,

A good day.  Got into the fieldhouse this morning and did 7 miles in 1:51:30 for a 3.75 MPH average.  Was even doing some jogging in the seventh mile.  Looks like I will be able to practice there on Saturday mornings from here on out until the weather gets better.  Went to Mass tonight and then the run hit me and I crashed for 2 hours.   Lucas made it home from seeing his daughter despite all the weather.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 29 along the front range of the Alleghanies.  Was a couch potato yesterday.  Did put some of the Tiny Treasures, that I picked up at Michael's, on the layout.  Girl's were in Al Tuna trying to find a prom dress.  Youngest Princess is toooooo picky.

Dougnotta - Wifey and I like boat shows.  We may be selling the yatchett soon.  Bothers me that I can't find time to sail it.  Can only imagine what a year's slip fee is in Sandy Eggo.

Fifey, good job.  You are like we were with lake house.  Used it a lot but then got old.  Didn't find time to use.  became a burden.

Hope all have a great week and stay warm.

Good morning/afternoon!

Should hit high 50's, maybe even 60 today. Front tomorrow - the deep freeze at this time just skims us...Cool

Our party last night went well. Paying the price today - but it's good.

Spent yesterday doing more sorting and cleaning out. Got my "new" office space tidied and even got a couple things on the wall, most particularly a neon Lionel clock sign I bought at York years ago from Lou Palumbo in the Org Hall. Nice orange glow!

Today - continue the work I started on several projects that were cluttering my desk. First up? A modern std ga 400E needs repairs and reassembly. This loco was the guinea pig/parts donor for the std ga locos rebuilds for the New York Historical Society holiday layout. Been in pieces and various partial states for testing fr several years - now it is time to rebuild and put her back in service.
