Thanks for your prayers guys. I've done my best to follow doctors orders. He said this happens sometimes.

The ER here was abuzz yesterday as one of the doctors from here was brought in severely injured  by a falling tree he had cut He was taken from here to the Trauma Center in Altoona where he was in stable condition earlier today. Let's pray for him.

Morning Fellas.

Well tried to log in all weekend from my iDevices without luck.  Something buggy in this forum's software or something.

Survived the blizzard of 2019.  Rained all day and we had a decent turnout at the shop.  Got to see the new catalog.  Some good offerings.  I was surprised by a few repeats so soon.

Hang in there Banks!

Take care everyone and stay safe. and warm.

Good morning from a clear cold 3°F Southern Ohio,

I went out into the woods this morning around 0500 to fill the deer feeder, and with the full moon and the snow it was beautiful.  I had the urge to take a hike further but I must go to work so I turned around.

Kids off from school MLK bday.  Still enough snow on to sled.  The surface is icy so the hill would be fast.  All the critters are OK in the cold.  The waddles on the chickens get frosted easily when it is this cold.

Banks - I hope and pray your recovery goes well.

May God bless you and your family

Morning team!

39 and breezy this morn'

Banks - more prayers for you and the doc Angel

Son and I watched the lunar eclipse last night, wolf (supermoon) and blood moon (turned orange during totality). It was a clear crisp night so viewing was fantastic! In the last couple of years I have gotten to witness a total solar eclipse and total lunar eclipse. I am happy about that!

Spent all day yesterday going through and documenting all the online accounts I have (web site, user name, passwords, and if a CC is embedded). Whew! Had not done this in a couple of years so my last list was covered with my chicken scratch notes. 85 sites. Updated all sites PWs where bank or CC is involved.

G-g-g-good A-a-a-afternoon All!

I think I'm slowly thawing out. Wow! That wind chill is brutal!

Well, I'm glad I'm not a betting man. Went 0-2 with yesterday's football games. I'm sick of the GOAT and the GLOAT (that's my wife bragging about how great her Patriots are. Ugh...)

Banks - Prayers for you!

Kev- Nice video. Glad the GP20 isn't squealing. Hope it stays like that.

Marty - I can't log in on my phone either, but no problem with my PC. Doesn't make sense.

Roy - I should have watched the eclipse instead of football! Good idea with the login/password refresh. I should do the same.

Have a good one and prayers.

Rob

Grandson has been working that GP20 and so far so good!! Big Smile He has also been working on Transformer hand control operation. Getting good. He is now controling three trains at once with NO PILE UPS!!  Yes

Chili tonight then they go home.

Roy, I have a word file I keep all accounts their usernames and passwords on that I keep on two thumb drives. How do you do it? It is anything but easy but if something would happen to me I want the wife to have the things she needs to access those accounts.

Good evening all,

Continued prayers for Banks.  Shoveled a bit as well.  Finished sweeping the house and even dusted some of the stuff on the train tables.  Went back to 1970 as I fired up the 8030 IC Geep and tried to run it with some other 1970 cars.  Operation was hit and miss.  May have to tinker with it.   The 8040 Nickel Plate steamer ran well.  Supposed to warm tomorrow, get rain Wednesday and then more snow.  Go figure.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hello there,

home in my own bed.

Thanks again for your support. I asked about the injured doc as I was being discharged. He's still in stable condition in ICU. I won't get any more info until my follow up in a couple of weeks.

Cold here 8 degrees when the dogs had  last call. Mrs is already on 2hr delay.

RE sign in on phone I discovered a while back the only way to sign in via phone is choose the full site and log in then switch to  mobile.

Slept most of the time since getting home and ready to get back to it.... .

Prayers for those in need

Glad Banks is back home!

Another cold one today but the temps will rise today.

Funny to watch the cycle of train life.  We have several guys that come into the shop that sell all their stuff and a couple years later buy again...then sell...a cycle for sure.

Safe day everyone!

Good Morning from clear 15°F Southern Ohio,

Last night came home to a supper pork chops and dressing and green beans that Gabriel had cooked.  It was really good.  The youngest got home late from a swim meet about 1 ½ hours away.  She was tired.  She is a freshman and swims in the fast flights already.

Banks - I’m thankful you are feeling better

We have trucks to unload this morning so need to get started.

May God bless you and your family

Mornin' boys.  Zero degrees along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Mineral Co. schools on 3-hour delay.  FifeMax not liking the Froze-Hi-Oh out back, as he can't get footing to "lift".

Couldn't get logged onto CTT yesterday, so I spent 3 hours in the train room, and modified my town, taking away the tiered look.  Wifey gave it Yes.

Banks - Sure are getting your share of health woes.  Get well soon, please.  If not, FifeNurse may come and personally take care of you.  Remember, middle princess is a RN, so that "qualifies" me to give you a bedpan, or a spongebath, or a cathater...  You will be up-and-out-of-there in no time...

KRM - Grandkids ---Yes

Chief - Glad you survived the eclipse without some kind of ritual offering.

Morning compadres!

Overcast and 50. Another front today.

To agree with Banks, this site is not mobile device friendly. Particularly iPad and iPhone. After resetting my password here Sunday the iPad would not allow me to log out. Hitting the logout did nothing. The only way to get the logout to occur was to drill down in Settings and delete the stored password. I do not even attempt the site with my iPhone anymore.

Banks, also glad you are home!

Aloha - grey and cold - supposed to sleet later today. I am glad to have gotten logged in. We had almost 10 inches of snow on Saturday - fortunately it was light enough to snow-blow away. Now it looks to be bitter cold for the foreseeable future. Ah well. Good excuses to run trains. i am trying to work with my clockwork Hornby train - settting up their weird track and getting the loco to pull its wagons.

Good morning from The North Bluff above Marseilles with what seems to better than some of your weather. 24 here but calling for icing today. It least the ice will lock the snow down and stop the drifting.
I figured DougM got a lot more snow than we did. Funny the change 70 miles can make.
RT, we do enjoy our grand-kids as much as we can. Boy the little guy took to that GP20. First thing he had to do when his mom got here was show her all about it. I think it is broken in and it is still running fine so I will e-mail Mario and let him know I will not be sending it back.
RE log on,,I don’t have a smart phone or tablet so I have not noticed anything but at times it just spins and won’t log you on. I just wait an hour and most time it works. Embarrassed
Banks, glad you healing up, Best take care, I don’t think you would want Fife to do a catheter on you. Surprise
Marty, I look at all of the trains in boxes here and get that cycle thought at times to. Huh?
Best get moving.

Hello There,

Back on restrictions. This morning I watched while son loaded a beef for the butcher. Then drove Mrs to work.

Plan for ther rest of the day is watching Band of Brothers. Caught bits and pieces over the years, never the whole thing. Got the DVDs on the bay a few years ago and never watched.

Best get to it

Quick Fly by - working from home today, and just as busy.

Glad Banks is home.....

Fife - had to laugh - ritual offerings?  very nice......

KRM, et al - I'm sure grandkids are great but, I'll wait til the Princess is ready and I'm not pushing her.

Got delayed on the table from the FD, they changed the door and the locks so I'll need to grab it Thursday.  If I can bear to go to drill....the drama from Installation Dinner still hangs heavy at the FD......and it is ALL politics from the top white hat.

But the good news is that the one table has foam and will need to glue it down, and I have 2 more shelves to install in the attic "foyer" and I'm pretty proud of that.

Check back when I can, got another Toyota to scan....(hate dem things....)

Good afternoon,

Just above freezing and a light rain on very frozen streets. Don't get much worse than that. Bout fell three times going to the shed. They are calling for 1/10" to 1/4" of ice by nightfall. The auto body shops will have a hay day.

Took the plow off yesterday to find the lane drifted in from another direction today. Then the darn key decided it did not want to come out of the ignition switch when I went to town so when I got home I pulled the Colorado out of the heated shed and pulled the Ranger in to check it out and the key came right out. So I don't know what is up with that but for now I will just keep the extra key fob in there so at least I can lock the truck and leave the key in it. It just wont go back far enough to the position to remove the key but will shut off and start the truck??

Always something!!  Bang Head Bang Head

Checked the GP20 smoke unit operation and it is still fine so in a day or two I will let Mario know if I am going to send it back or not.  Yes Big Smile

Weather ok.  Very frustrating day at work.  I just wish the people who supplied us with software would actually check to make sure it worked......nah!   Feeling lousy on top of it did not help.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Went to Kansas City last night for my wife's 5:30am appointment.  Her outpatient procedure went well and we got back home around 3pm. She spent the afternoon sleeping off the aftereffects of the knockout juce they used this morning and is sounding much better this evening.  Hopefully this solves the extended adventure we've had to find out why and get fixed the cause for her wheezing.

High about 40 today, rained on and off most of the day.  Temperature is currently dropping towards freezing.  Probably have to deal with some ice tomorrow morning.

All for now.

Catalog Day!

Warming up for the day.  Looks like snow by tomorrow morning.

Will be listening to the Dave and Ryan show to she what the thoughts are on the catalog.  I've already seen a copy at the store so I won't be surprised. Curious to see what others think.

Anyways folks have a safe day.

DJSpanky

Mornin' all!

Once again this damn shoulder is interrupting my sleep - aching like hell around 3'ish, so got up, popped an Aleve and did some shoulder exercises. Really need to get back regular to the gym so I can start stressing all the supporting muscles around it.

Have a good one!

My shoulder has been bothering me for about 6 months.  If it's the same as my right shoulder issue a few years back, it's called an inpinchment. It eventually went away on the right one, hoping for the same on the left.  It's probably not helping that I continue to lift, although lighter weights.  Hope you can get it feeling better.  I often wake up and have to readjust my position to avoid pain.

Good morning from a very BRISK 27 at 8:20 am in Nawth Texess...Wow

Was under the weather yesterday so stayed home and worked on the CTI programming for that layout we built the complicated control system early in 2018. The customer has some issues to address so I spent time reacquainting myself with the code. And I was able to add to the CTC control panel animation. I had occupied tracks go from green to red. Was able to add a feature where switches on the diagram show which route they are aligned for. Also added some signals and text. Interesting.

May stay home again today to work on the program some more and to keep on the up an' up!

MikeC - software wonks do not use their own work...

Good Morning from a balmy 49°F Southern Ohio,

Driving home last night from work a stiff wind out of the South was raising the temps all evening.  The predictors are calling for a lot of rain coming and maybe snow.

I took off everything off one side of the layout last night and placed the ¾” foam over the OSB.  I’ll glue it down and do the other side later today.  I’m taking ½ day vacation to be home when the kids get off school since my bride is taking her mom to Columbus to the doctor, so I may have the time.

As far as grandkids go, my bride and I are in a slightly different position.  We’ve been raising them for the past 10 ½ years, the twins are 16 and the youngest is 15, so they are more like “our” kids, than the typical grandparent role of spoil them then send them home.  I must say that even with the challenges they have brought, my bride and I feel truly blessed to have them with us.  In four years they will all be out of high school and the dynamic changes significantly, so we are cherishing “almost” every moment we have with them.

Roy, Mike C, Marty, Spank, & Banks, - I’ll continue prayers of healing for you guys

Break is over and need to check on the guys.

May God bless you and your families

Jim

Aloha. Cold, grey and snowy-sleety. Glad Mrs 8ntruck is home safe. Praying for the rest of you recovering. I had a different sort of day today - driving the bride to a training session that is usually an hour away - that in this weather was more like 2 hours. I am hanging out in a Starbucks-in-a-Target until she is done at the end of the day. She has three days of this and hours of homework before she is able to do vision tests on her students. Then she starts training to do the hearing tests. Yeesh. But at least the weather should clear - besides becoming ridiculously cold- I saw 20 below air temps forecast for Friday. Ah well. And it is good weather to play inside.

Sunshine today!  Didn't help the temperature much, though.  Got into the low 20's.  Thankfully, the ice forecast for last night did not happen.

The various design groups on the robotics team got together today to discuss where the robot design is at.  They realized that several of their designs for the various systems on the robot are planning on using the same volumes on the robot - compromises and re-design are needed.

I saw the situation developing several days ago and reccomended that they get together and discuss.  I figure that leaving the students to self discover the problem is a lesson that will stick better than me telling and showing them the problem.  Yes, they need to concentrate on their own sub-system, but they still need to be aware of the overall project.

I canceled one of the items I had on order form Charles Ro today, and put an order in for a Polar Express conductor gateman.

About all for now.
