Good afternoon all,
Had all of 5 trick or treaters last night. Weather too miserable. Work quiet yesterday and today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

November already. Jan & Feb don't go by this fast.
No T or Ts last night. Most kids live at the other end of the block and do the Sub from there.
45 degrees this morning with 24 hours of rain in the forecast.

Morning team!
48 and sunny for the start of Nov! Nice! Low 60's today.
DonB - our city has a couple of free electronics recycling events every year. Over the past couple of years I took 5 laptops and 4 old desktops (one a 286!) Along with all the peripherals. Took all the disk drives out. Bought a universal USB drive adapter and was able to see the data on all of them.
Here is the video Don refers to...Facebook video of the recipient of the Make-a-Wish layout and train furniture that TW Trainworx provided, funded by a benefactor.

My son and I did all the building placement, wiring, road through the middle, crossings, etc. he even did some of the ballasting. Fun little layout with a lot of details.Oh, and all the buildings had to be modified to secure them to the layout so it can fold up when not in use.

Boo-y'all. The newlyweds invited us for dinner last night, and to watch the trick-or-treaters (we don't get any at our house). It's now back to 3-day work weeks at the RR. Very mild weather here.
Good Morning,
There are advantages to be on the left coast, right at the top of the first page.Congrats RT on the house!Boy, been busy, Dentist on Monday (2 cavities), then back today (1 cavity), no more visits until next spring. She said I was now cavity free!Past 3 days been working on the laptop conversion! Finally finished only 1 open issue and that's with RR Track software. Boy, those guys are really hard to get a hold of!Ended up retiring one laptop and resurrecting another. Was having extreme power/battery problems. The laptop with a full charge would just drop off. So now have this ThinkPad all properly configured and operating. Thought I had something I would be able to retrieve. Ended up I have 5 laptops laying around! So went through each of them to see why they had been parked. They definitely qualify as "vintage" goes back to 2000. Mostly they became hardware outdated, but surprisingly got them all to boot up, so don't know what I will do with them. Then realized in the house there are 3 more desktops setting around also. UGH!FIL situation is still so/so, he had an angiogram yesterday, and I think they are going to work on a valve and a stint soon. Consensus is it may buy him another year. ??Heard something on the radio today that could have an affect on some of you (Banks). Another measure we have on the upcoming ballot is "Prop 12", this will come to the aid of chickens, hogs/pigs, and calves. Our legislature has realized that the HOUSING for these critters is not fit for habitation. So minimum space requirements have been defined and all farms/ranches must comply and provide appropriate housing. So now the knowledgeable citizens of LA, San Francisco etc. are going to edict how to raise animals. Not only does it impact local farms, but also ANY out of state location, where these animals are ultimately sold into California. I'm in fear the national Homeless statistics is really going to soar! Obviously, if new housing is too costly, the only other option would be to turn all those critters free. And they could be counted as homeless. (If you get bored do a search on California Ballot Propositions, you will find a lot of really costly and crazy stuff!!)RJ, sounds like you might be on top of it, hope it all works out well, and you feel better SOON!SJ, Good luck with the Urologist!Roy, That is a great video! Good Job!
Don
