Good afternoon, Rain day today and I got a package from Chief. So I figured why not do some train work. Chief the EER board had the black wire melted so it must of been fried. Runs fine now, Thank you!!

Good evening all,
A day to forget. Tried to handle certain situations and was hoping for different results but got the same thing.....again. Some other disappointments occurred as well. At least the temps dropped but lots of rain. Not a big taxicab fan, but hate to see IMS not do well due to the rain. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Morning. Up since 5:30 hauling plants and etc to plant sale for Wifey's garden club. Not fun. Now to mow.

Morning folks!
Warm 76 and raining this morning. Rained heavy yesterday evening. Was at dinner with friends, so we had dessert drinks waiting out the storm. Appears the rain finally moves out tomorrow.
Regards, Roy
Hello there, Had a good day at the NITTANY ANTIQUE EQUIPMENT SHOW yesterday. It was really busy for a Friday.
Another rainy day today. Drags canceled again. Soccer too. Even the hillclimb tomorrow.. A lot of dirt was put on the hill the last 2 weekends. With the rain this week it is already a mess and heavy steady rain predicted for tomorrow. Only the 3rd time in 40 years we've canceled a climb.
Went shopingfor a new washing machine. Looking get an old fashioned upright. The HE one Dad bought a few years ago is a POS. IMHO the HE washers just aren't worth the extra $$$ and time they take to do a load. Ended up we're going to get a HE one anyway. Seems that our government prohibits any thing but. Best quit before I say something I shouldn't.
Prayers for those in need

Wet rainy day. Went to Kokomo to see younger daughter and grandson. Had a nice visit. I hope everyone has a good day.
Morning. Cloudy and a chance of rain. Trying to keep Florence away.
Going to a neighboring town to a church's new food pantry grand opening. Lady in charge was in charge of the big food pantry at New Bethel Church here in town.
Have a great week ahead.
Afternoon All,
A nice fall-like Sunday for NFL Week 1. I hope my Packers are able to get back on track this year and Rodgers stays healthy.
Not much else on the go. I'm chomping at the bit to weigh in on the Trainz thread, but I'll refrain. Frankly, I'm surprised it hasn't been pulled it.
Have a good one and prayers.
Rob
Afternoon,Sure hope everyone does OK with Florence coming ashore. Definitely do not need anymore more flooding! On a MUCH lesser note, the cable people were out on Friday, again. This guy thought maybe the splitters and three open coax cables were causing the problem, (pixalation). So he changed the splitters, and I actually think there may be an improvement. The cable coming into the house is fiber optic, so doubt there is a problem with that. When they measure the signal strength it is measuring "excellent", so will be mainting a log for time and channel when pixalation occurs. Possible ham radio interference? I doubt it.Been working on scratch removal on the El Camino, its coming along well. Only do a section at a time, no hurry, and no need to wear my self out.Imagine Nascar is going to be rained out.Hope everyone does OK with the weather!! Take care and be safe!

Very nice here today, dry, low 70s with a light wind. Doing some firewood work and preping the wood shed for some fresh stain tomorrow.
Grandparents day tomorrow so Sandra and I are heading to Lexi's school to spend some time with her and the rest of the third grade class. A thing they asked us to do. I am taking extra games along in case there are some kids who don't have grandparents that can show up. It should be fun.

Hello all
Rain, rain, and more rain. I drained the pool on Friday to just at the skimmer line. Woke up this morning with water coming out the skimmer. Drained another 1 1/2" and hopefully that should do it until this rain leaves. Took some time to organize some train struff around the house. Knock on wood with all the rain everything indoors is dry.
Hope everyone can say the same.

Hello there, Another really rainy day. Checked the rain guage just before dark. A touch over 5 inches since Friday AM.
Under flood warning till Tuesday afternoon. Some ditches and creeks already overflowing. Some roads are closed. I'm hoping the Great Stuff I put in the biggest hole in the basement slows the water enough to let it go out as fast as it comes in. So far it's working but we've had no deluges that usually cause the flood.
Temperature outside was 54 about dark. 67 in the house but damp as he!!. Usually in the fall I rely on gas log but I lit the furnace thinking it will help drying the basement.
Bought a $769 washer today. With coupon and sale price $399. Pick it up Tuesday.
Time for bed.
Prayers for those in need.
Bad day for Indy sports. Colts threw away a winnable game and IMS was rained out. I dodged some misting to get lawn mowed such as it was. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Morning
I guess were through the worst of this storm and now looking at the rain from Florence coming possibly this weekend. For the most part we stayed dry inside.
Hope everyone has a good day and stay safe!

Mornin' boys. Cool and damp along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Fifedom okay with all the rain, but Cumberland is on alert with rising Potomac and Wills Creek. The North Branch is as high as I've seen since moving here.
Fifepup was here for a 3-day visit, and I enjoyed having him by me. He thought the new layout was "awesome." In a couple weeks he will be living in Orlando, while attending Marine Mechanical Institute. I took him up to see his grandparents (hopefully not for the last time...), which was bitter-sweet for me. He road the train while Alexis and I worked the Sunday trip, and made friends with the kitchen guys. Then I filled his gas tank and sent him back to SC.
Not gonna do much today. Good luck with the home improvements, Brent.
Well Brent without power tools you might make it through that list without a trip to the ER.
Rainy and 56 here. Our thermastat is set at 72.Don't care what date is on the calander If the house feels cold I want heat. Of course by the end of the week it's suppose to be in lower 80s again. I get the stitches out of my hand tomorrow and gonna do my best to keep them from rewraping it. And so a new week begins.

Morning gang!
Missed yesterday as I was really busy most of the day and then kids come for dinner, daugher, BF, daughter's pup, and our son. Had a great time, watched a bit of football together, and played fetch with the dog.
Rained all day Sat following heavy rains Friday. Everything is green here which for Aug/Sept is an extremely rare event for N Texess.
And it was a comfortable mid-70's all day yesterday! Low 80's for today!
Buckeye Riveter Fife...I have seen the foam used on a You Tube video. I agree the stuff is messy. Banks....Where did you get the great price on the cabinet? Thanks for the tip on the wire stripper. Heavy rains today. Bad day in Cincinnati.

Hello there,
still rainin but not as hard.
Mrs just called, she's getting out of school early.
Buckeye. ......almost forgot. Picked up my Craftsman tool cabinet at an ACE Hardware 3 day Labor Day sale.
Marty E.....you've been gone for a while. Tell us new guys about yourself. Better yet enter a Bio for posterity. Feel free to check out mine.
Best get moving, I'm draining the Hot tub to replace the seal in the pump.
Good afternoon......
So, hey.....Saturday was kinda a lost day, spent the day at my house doing laundry, watching TV and hanging with my cat Smurf, who was real happy to be with me after he figured out I wasn't giving him any more treats (I capped it at 10....lol). Left there late, almost stayed, but I figured I'd have to call the parents and all that, so I just went home. Had 2 fire calls during the day, so it made it interesting.Sunday put my clothes away, trying to prep for my vacation on Thursday (which, apparently, is going to be ruined by some bit*h named Flo....) went back to my house and spent time with the kids who were watching Jag v Giants at the house. All of a sudden, my daughter is a Jags fan.....I have failed as a parent.......so I was harassed a bit, I have lost my taste for football, I reminded her that she is a NJ Devils Fan and we are ok with this....and hockey season is 25 days away.....I spent time in the Attic/Train Room/Playroom, dividing up my rolling stock that is accessible and boxed. I did find an MTH GP9 in Texas and Pacific livery, a ProtoSound 1 creature. I charged the battery on the track and it runs fairly well. Surprised I had it. So make this 4 MTH engines I have (NYC 0-6-0, T&P GP9, The Wanderer 4-4-0 and a LocoSound Steamer I haven't really looked at in a year....).Lots of box cars, some tankers/flats/hoppers, a few passenger cars (I have more, I have to find them), Did get some of the sets together, NJ Transit set, Western Maryland GP set and 2002 Fire/Rescue Set. I do have a BUNCH and complete set of Atlas O Golden Spike Club cars, some TCA-MG group cars (I'm missing the first one of 6 yearly runs), Lionel Train Day (3 of 3), 2004 Conrail Safety Award Set as well.Found my CNJ Box Cab from K-Line and a few more caboose, and I have a bunch in boxes, not boxed but loose and more in dive cases.
Fife - It's tough to let the kids go, I feel ya.....
Brent - Good Luck on the repairs, I also am not looking forward to a visit from Flo.... :(
After my vacation, need to go get my lumber (FREE!!) from a gent that has dismantled his layout. It should all fit in the Hemi Magnum.....
Need to go back to work, been uber busy today, which is good.
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Let's see ..... I guess it is Monday.
Anjdevil - You going to unload the lumber from your hemi Magnum by opening the hatch, then flooring the gas?
Attended a family reunion yseterday. It is getting smaller as the cousins' youngsters scatter around the country to raise their families. Our two kids are out of state and neither one could make the reunion this year.
Finally got all of the pieces of the eliptical exercise machine in the basement today. It has been riding around ini the back of the truck for a week or so until I felt like dealing with it. Next job is to assemble the thing again.
Nothing much on the train front. Still thinking about pulling the trigger on the MKT LionChief+ NW2.
Headed back to Mo. to collect the mail and mow the lawn tomorrow. The company I retired from is holding a 100th aneversary Wednesday, so I'll drop by and attend that.
About all for now.
Still a bit cool, but nice. Taxicabs got their race done at IMS today. Had practice with junior high kids. I hope everyone has a good day.
9/11..................

Headed east to strap camper down and secure things there. Here, generator running if needed. 48 hours worth of gas. Tracks all over the place once it comes inland. We may get mostly rain as now they say stalling south and east of us. Who knows.
Rich.....great 911 rememberance. Never forget
pump seal replaced. They last about 2 years. Had the hot tub +/- 30 years. Replaced the motor bearings once, leaking seal got to them.
Last time I looked the rain guage had 2.4 inches for a total of 7.4 inches since Friday AM. Average September rainfall here is 3.7 inches. With what we got earlier last week we're nearly 3 times that.
Looks like Chief and RT are going to get some rain. Prayers for those in its path.
Working on removing old washer. Waiting on call to go get new one.
70's again. Cloudy (all day). Started drizzling yesterday about 4 and is still doing so this am and predicted most of the day. It is good for the ground water which was depleted by the drought. 9/11
Right coasters, batten down the hatches!Happy Birthday Banks!

School thing with the third grade kids yesterday was fun and the weather was good so we had it outside in back of the school. Played games and had lunch then came home.
I went and got a new battery for the log splitter. Went with the same thing, a monster group 31S battery. Was on sale for $103.78 with tax. I know it was a lot but the old one was in there 12 years and was used when I put it in. Those lawn mower batteries are around $45.00 and only last 2 years so I figured WTH. Besides I made it to hold the Group 31 anyway.
Put a second coat of stain on the support post and fascia for the wood shed, so that is done. I need to spray round-up on the north side of the roof to kill off the moss. I need to do a last kill on the weeds in the lane anyway. Maybe later today.
74 and a very light breeze, about as nice as you could ask for on weather.
You guys out east be smart and get out of the way!!
Happy Birthday Banks!!
Morning all
Nothing new here. Rain stopped for now. Looks like we'll get a few sunny days. Hope everyone is safe and watching out for the next storm coming.
Good Morning from overcast misty 64°F Southern Ohio
17 years ago, may God have mercy on their souls.
It’s been busy so I’m reading along but not posting. MIL back in then discharged from hospital so bride has been busy with her. Oldest granddaughter had a seizure at school last Friday out of the blue. Locals did tests and we’ll be going to Cincy for more tests and info. The rain has really soaked everything and thankfully we’ve not had to clean up any water inside or downed trees in the yard. On the layout getting really close to how I want the track, roads, buildings and accessories layout. When I do get the placement, I’ll take a bunch of pictures, remove everything and put down some ½” foam board and move from planning to building.
I’m trying to remember the product name of the roadbed I used on the old layout. It is ~ 3/8” thick, a little wider than the track and looks kind of like carpet underlay with shades of grey comes in strips about 36” long and can be flexed for the curves. I’d like to find it if it is still available. Any ideas what it is called?
Lunch about over, may God bless
Jim
