Already 91 degrees.  Rain missed us.  Farm got two big rains so food plots will be doing good.

Seems good to have the Buckeye back posting regularly.  BTW Don't do as Roy and Don.  Goof off as much as you can.  Take twice as long to do projects.  If you don't, Wifey will find more.  Wink

Have a good one.

Evening all!

Warm again, high 80's. More on tap.

Spent the day doing an online property tax protest, sorting insurance forms for cars, boats, etc., (ditching the older renewals), cleaned the porch (coated in pollen), and capped the afternoon grilling some chicken.

See Buckeye - you can do it!

And the Chief can offer you expert advice about goofing off - i.e. run for Mayor!

I went to the old office yesterday to pick up a few things that had to be transported in the bed of my truck.  On my last day it was raining so I stored them with one of my trusted Boilermaker buddies. This retirement is looking better after returning to the scene. Thumbs Up

Many of you knew I traveled extensively mostly by car, but here is the lowdown.  The wife and I after retirement flew to New Orleans for $40.00 using points. We stayed in New Orleans free except for meals.  Our rental car in Seattle for three days was $7.00 and was upgraded to full size.

Hello there.

Thanks for the prayers for the racer.

I know it's the weekend because Mrs is home with me.

Tree guy postponed today due to weather. Spent most of yesterday welding up a trailer hitch on son's new 04 Chevy 3500 stake body truck. Included a receiver offset 15 inches for farm equipment.

Today was garage cleanup, a soccer game and a BS session with a retired pro motocross rider that stopped by trying  to get my old Elsinore's.

Now at daughters keeping an eye on the oldest grandkids.

Had a long post going last night but fell asleep and lost it.

At the rate I'm going my list will last many years

Good evening all,

Friday was extremely busy at work and I washed the van Friday night.  I was tired so no post.  Reffed a soccer game Saturday morning and wife and I went to Indy GP in the afternoon.   Weather was good and the wife was a real trooper in getting to and from our seats.  Race started out as TK moved to 7th for AJ but a bad pit stop late in the race resulted in a 14th place finish.  Leist was totally lost again (ever since St. Petersburg) and was 20th.  TK did move to 11th in points.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Buckeye Riveter

went to the old office yesterday to pick up a few things that had to be transported in the bed of my truck.

What did you transport back?  Your lazy body is all I can think was in the truck.

Morning all.  BoJangles biscuits and a gift certificate to her favorite nursery [all she wanted].  Late lunch with kids and grands.

Already 98 degrees [weather station is in sun right now.

KEV, software is .....  Had to go through hoops to get quote and then type.

Have a good one.

Note to self:  Sure is good to have Buckeye back posting regularly.  Now I have someone to fight with.

Morning all !

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY !

Eureka ! Finally made it to the museum on Friday. Was only there for half the day but that sure beats a blank. Unfortunately I was pretty much dead on my tush til this morning. That was my first operating time since New Year's Day, almost had to have a re-training session before starting since it had been so long. As Laz always said "No Pileups". Thumbs Up

Gotta get in gear here pretty soon to start preping for our Mother's Day dinner. Our daughter and her family will be out late this afternoon and will be joining us for dinner. Will be doing a standing rib roast and loaded baked taters, still haven't decided on a dessert yet. Hhmm pie & ice cream or cake & ice cream, decisions decisions. Confused

Later all !

Happy Mother's day to all the moms.  Just checking in.  Haven't posted for a few days.  Went to church this morning and that was about it.  Just been lazy today and ate left overs for dinner.  Ate out for the last two days so can't complain.  We've had some morning drizzle for the last two days and cloudy days.  We will miss it when it gets hot again.  Going to have a tooth pulled next Wednesday.  Not looking forward to that because it is an anchor tooth for a partial so that will all have to be redesigned.  They want to put me to sleep to do the work.  I don't know why but maybe it's better that way.  Never had it before.  Have a good week all.

Aloha. Stormy today. Stormy tonight. I had a long weekend of making sure the bride felt celebrated yesterday and working graduation events and commencement ceremonies all day Saturday. Whew! Now, I have to work even harded to help support Buckeye.

Jim, I love that tinplate Marx set. They run like champs!
Chief, I am now hungry for Bojangles biscuits. We like to get them when we visit SC each year.

A Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the Mom's.....

Happy Birthday DougM!!

I picked my newest and biggest ride ever, I couldn't do another pick up truck and hate SUV's.....2005 Dodge Magnum 5.7Liters of HEMI power - 340HP and 390TQ.

A little refit and I'll be on the road with it soon enough....It's so cool to have a V8 and another HEMI to boot.  Should get the same MPGs as my Sundance on the highway.  Now I can wear my Hemi hat with pride....lol.

No much else happening, just a checkin' in.

Dougnotta - gotta get back in the swing, brother!!

SPRay - hope the extraction goes well......

MikeC - It's almost time for my to watch IndyCar again - I favor the Andretti's (sorry, I'm a Paisan) and the Foyt team.  AJ was a thing, along with Richard Petty growing up.  Petty is the reason for my affinity for Mopars.  Big Daddy Don Garlits solidified that.

Good Afternoon from sunny 81°F Southern Ohio,

A great weekend was had with the family celebrating Mother’s Day.  The kids got their Nana (my bride) an air fryer, well actually my bride picked it out and ordered it, and we were all good with that.  We also got her some hanging baskets for the front porch.  After Sunday services we went to go visit the kid’s mom and it was a good visit.  After that the youngest Kale and I spread more mulch.  I believe we’re done for now.  We’ll see how badly the chickens mess it up when they are out running around.

Friday I got the upper sash replaced in the kitchen that cracked.  It was really easy.  It took longer to stain and finish the window than to replace it.  Saturday I replaced athe blades on the riding mower and when my weed eater started acting up again I went and bought a Stihl FS 56, and I love it.  It works really well so I spent most of Saturday afternoon weed eating.

Question; I want to transport my John Deere X330 riding mower.  A trailer would be great but maybe overkill.  I’m thinking about a set of Reese 90” arched ramps.  I have a set of ramps made from 2 x 12s 8’ long that I’ve used for years loading stuff into and out of my truck but by being straight the mower deck gets stuck.  Any of you have experience with the arched ramps?

Rich - Great new ride!  The new Mopars are really a throw back to when performance was more than skin deep and for show

Doug - Happy Birthday.  Yea the tinplate made me stray from being exclusively faithful the American Flyer

Roy - the overtime is at straight time.  The salary will be negotiated, but typically trainers are lower paid than supervisors and I would enter near the top of the pay band.

May God bless

Jim

Thunder storms tonight.  Dog and I won't get our walk in tonight.  Right now, he is wandering from window to window whining.  I think he wants to go out and watch the lightening.

We had a kid's program at the KATY museum last Saturday.  We had maybe two dozen people show up.  One son and dat were there for about 2 hours playing with the Brio set and the Thomas the Tank Engine layout.

The baggage cart the museum has been restored over the winter.  I set up an O 36 Fastrack oval and an O27 oval on it.  Ran my General on the O27 loop and my new LionChief Berkshire on the outer loop.  That Berkshire has exceptional smoke output!

I had a 'magic smoke' incident with the surge suppressor on my 180 watt Powerhouse.  While the supressor was smoking, something went 'pop' inside the Powerhouse case.  After that, the Powerhouse was only making 6 volts, not 18.  Methinks I fried it.

102 days until retirement - but I'm not counting.

All for now.

Evenin' boys.  Stormy, stormy, stormy; that's all we hear.  I have to take FifeMax in the train room and run postwar 'til he settles down.  HVAC guy came by and serviced our system with R22.  Fixed it right up.

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.  Spent some time with Junior High soccer kids tonight.  That was fun.  Mowed the yard as well.  Had to raise the deck one notch to keep from stalling out.  Weather hot.  Watched Izombie.  Incredibly sad episode that we knew would occur, but does not make it any better.  At least it has been renewed for another season.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hello there,

hope everyone had a great Mom's day. Ours was good. Went to a matinee and saw I Can Only Imagine, good  movie.

Lots of storms the last couple o days.  The grass is wayyyy ahead o me.

Cold and now wet is slowing planting. Some hay is ready and waiting for good weather.

Met with a financial guy yesterday. Deficit spending til we hit Medicare but we will be OK.

Happy Birthday to those I missed.

Phish. ....BIL gave me a pair of arch ramps a few years ago. They're OK but the rungs are to far apart for something with small wheels. It's much easier and safer to load on to a low trailer than a high pickup. I have both an prefer the trailer.

Best get on with the day.

Prayers for those in need

Mornin' Fellas

TheVPQ headed to Wisconsin today for an audit. Won't be home till Friday afternoon, hope she isn't late because this weekend is our annual camping trip with the Daisy Troop. Hard to believe Christina will be bridging to Brownies on June 1st. Storms last night really shook things up! Glad I got the lawn mowed on Saturday because we're do for storms just about every night though the weekend.

Christina was invited to participate in a U9 soccer tournament in June. This is a big honor for her since she doesn't turn 7 till August, and typically they have to be 7-8 to participate. If she does well we may ask that she be bumped a level next Fall.

Still waiting on bids for the porch work in Pittsburgh... seriously disappointed with these contractors. I guess they aren't hurting for work.

Banks - My parents are trying not to tap their retirement accounts for another year. They've found it tough because Medicare doesn't cover much on my Dad's perscriptions.
