Afternoon all!

A toasty 84 right now. Sun is shining! Rain bounces in and out of the forecast for tomorrow. We could use some.

Spent the afternoon at the paint store trying to get a custom color match that looks right for our back yard fence. All their standard colors look like baby poop, mud, or are way too dark. Am getting close. Had a young man who really knew his stuff about pigments and how to adjust them. Did some test patches in a hidden area and some scrap board from the repairs. Will need to make one more trip.

cheapclassics - I got nailed from behind a decade ago.  To this day, I'm still weary of vehicles closing in on my bumper, in traffic.  Hoping you're not waking up sore.

Youngest Princess and I are on the train all weekend.  Middle Princess modelled her wedding dress for me last night; Beautiful.

Kev and V8, I won't bore you with a lot of details on my dental problems but I hardly get one fixed when another one pops up.  Like I said before, trying to ride it out until my upcoming travel plans are over.  Tonight my microwave decided to take a dump.  Every thing works but it just doesn't heat.  Nothing much in the instruction book.  All I can say is that the built in obsolescense is working fine.  It's about 4 and a half years old on a 5 year warranty but good luck on finding a repair place.  I guess the thing to do is chunk it and just get another one.  That seems to be the American way these days.  There is a band at the Dixieland Jazz club I go to this week end.  Bad timing having it on Palm Sunday.  If I go it will be late after church.

Good morning all,

Ray

Hello there, sad news about the firefighters.

Tonight there were 737 paid at the buffet.

Shower, hot tub  and now wine. Then  off to dreamland.

No real plans for the weekend other than an Easter egg hunt at Mom's home with the grandkids tomorrow. Maybe a trip to the flea market after mass on Sunday.

Prayers for Those in need

Good evening all,

Got hit from behind this AM while sitting at a stoplight.  I think the minivan is totalled.  Ugh.  Was hoping I could make it last to retirement.  That is gone as well.  Got buried at work today as well, but dug my way out of most of it.  Ugh Ugh Ugh.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Mike, they will want to sue you for being in their way while they were using their device and had their eyes off the road and their brain shut down.

This next gen,,,,best of luck to them.

Sorry about the car, that sucks, you should of opened the door and fell out of the car on the ground and asked for help. I am sure there is some dirtbag Lawyer who can hook you up. If he was not already following you.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Evening all!

TGIF!! Luckily, we didn't end up with any white stuff. Hopefully those who did, made out okay.

Joe/RT - Thanks for the info. Yes, I was curious how much access one had if they went digital. As long I at least have access back to whenever my digital subscription starts, I'm okay with that. I do like the fact the "other guys" have access back to 2009.

Sir James - No worries. Thanks for thinking about me, though. Sometime down the road.....

Have a good one and prayers.

Rest day I hope.  About time.  53 degrees and warming.  Sunny for a change.  Rain back tomorrow and Sunday.

Later

Didn't happen.  Wifey wanted pickup to do errands for History Museum.  Then "I don't like to drive it."  So, drove her around and helped with some planting at museum.

Weather is nice today but tonight will be the test of the weather guessers.

Looks like we will get only 3" to 6" but a shift of a few miles of the track could make it a lot or nothing. Looks like DougM is in the clear. We are only about 70 miles apart. Mid 60s for us by Tuesday so I will just sit and watch it melt. 6" don't count for much. Just drive over it with the trucks.

Went to Walmart today and got wifey a seal-a-meal thing she has been wanting. Picked out a cheap one by Ziplock. Seems to work fine and will do what we need.

Not much else going on.

Hello there,

we ended up with 18 inches of heavy wet snohio. I spent 2.5 hours plowing snow Wednesday evening. Most of it's melted now.

Off to fry fish.

Prayers for those in need

Aloha. Sunny and a little less cold. Looking forward to the weekend. I puttered around the layout in the evening this past week - it was fun to put in the time with that rather than watching TV.

Demay

Good evening,

A late post as today was a busy day at work due to having no work yesterday. The wife made Cincinnati chili for dinner, which is something we never had until we lived in Ohio. Most of our snow has already melted and I do not believe we have any more on the way.  I am looking forward to the weekend and some vacation time next week.

RT/Rob - That is not entirely accurate.  I can access all the back issues since I have been a digital subscriber.  For me that is back to 2015.  The part about the other vendor giving complete access to their digital library is accurate.

Good night,

Joe

Yes joe, but lets say I joined today, I would not be able to access back to 2015 like you can as you have been a digital subscriber that long, and I think That is what Rob was asking, if he could access back issues by now becoming a digital subscriber.

Good evening all,

Back to work.  Did not have to drive which was nice.  Busy catching up today, but was not really all that far behind.  Tomorrow should be quiet.  Weather was sunny but cool for walk.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Evening all!

Really nice day today again with high 70's, sunny, and a breeze. 80 tomorrow!

DJ - I suffered and pushed through the 70 and breezes and grilled out tonight. Grilled salmon, rice with almond bits and parsley, and baked asparagus.

Having repairs done to our back yard fence. Over 250' of cedar. The 2x8 cedar top cap finally rotted after a mere 30 years and about 20 boards need to be replaced (board on board fence). Then we will have it cleaned and stained. $$$$

RT - good deal on finishing the ramp. I think Donna will be impressed!

Relaxing with an adult beverage!

Evening all. Lot going on since last posting. My wife finally gets to come home Saturday. Went in the hospital on the 28th of Feburary and is finally coming home the 24th of March. She has progressed a lot but still has a lot to go. Thankfully it only affected her left leg and arm, nothing else.

Rob if I remember correctly the answer is no on back issues. ( they want you to buy there $100+ DVD of the back issues. ) The other mag I can go back dec 2009 ( I can down load them also. )

Got the ramp built for the wife. It came out great. I made it come out about 12' - 14' and then did a 90 degree turn to the left, so it didn't have to be steep. ( I'm the one having to push the wheel chair up the ramp lol. )

Hope all have been doing well. You'all in the north, I feel for you, one of the reasons I left up there, had enough of it, as a kid it was great, but as I got older I wanted no parts of it.

Talk to you all later

Afternoon All,

Winter just won't let go for some of you! Got my latest CTT this week and gave it a once over. My renewal is coming up and I'm thinking about digital this time.

Joe, I know you are a digital subscriber. Can you or anyone else tell me if you have access to previous issues? If so, how far back?

Sir James - D3R video looked good. Lots of nice equipment!

Have a good one and prayers.

Spank,

Well I guess it is our turn, they are calling for 8” to 12” right over us on Friday night to Saturday afternoon. Yeah, and I put the plows away.   Bang Head  Oh well no biggy.

At least today will be nice, 50s and full sun with no wind. What do they asy about March? In like a lamb, out like a lion!

Tooth feels good but the jaw is sore.

8N, I would suggest you talk to your dentist and see what you can do now before you have to go on old fart dential INS.

If I could do it over I would of had got some crowns done before I retired but I did not know I was going to be pushed into retirement till 12 days before I got out.

Good evening all,

Stayed home again today.  Roads too messy to fool with.  Wife and I did another jigsaw puzzle.  Shoveled the snow.  Roads are clear now and I do not have to drive tomorrow.  NBC will carry all Indy events starting next year.  That is good news for the series.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good luck to you guys with dental projects.  Had an interesting thought when I went to my dentist for my 6 month cleaning a couple weeks ago.  When setting up the next appointment, I realized that it will be about the same time as my retirement.  Things are starting to get real now.

Stay safe and enjoy the snow you are getting on the East Coast.

The high school robotics team is on their way to a regional meet in Pittsburgh this week.  They have been working on things that went wrong at the last meet.  Hopefully the improvements will work and they will do well again.

No real train news.  I got the new Lionel catalog from Charles Ro recently.  Thinking on pulling the trigger on the Lionchief NYC Hudson, the Elmer Fudd box car, and a Polar Express gateman.

All for now.

Good evening,

Today was a great day. The snow came as promised and I did not have to go to work. The kids and I had a snowball fight and played in the snow. Unfortunately, we left our snow shovel in Germany so our older son had to use a broom to clear the driveway and sidewalk. Crying Laugh Amazingly, the roads are very clear here, but they already cancelled school for tomorrow. I do not believe any more snow is expected and I will be going to work.

Fife/Banks - Thanks for the info.

Good night,

Joe

Evening gang,

73 today and sunny. may hit 80's this weekend.

All this tooth talk is painful. I have 4 gold crowns - 2 top, 2 bottom  - rear molars same side. Told my son when he was younger i was working on a "grill" and would just keep working around until they were all done - i would like to say he just rolled his eyes - and lets leave it at that!

Well Ray, I am Back and finished, Tooth repaired and still numb. At least they saved it but they wanted to do a crown and told them f%&k,, that patch it up and we will go from there. So they looked at it and had an opening 30 minutes later so I just said do it. They ground out the old fillings and put in a huge new one. About 3/4th the tooth. The new stuff they use is tough and even looks like a tooth. Should out live me. I swear if this dentist was 25 years I would be shocked. Nice little thing though, she is. Wink

You got to lay down the law or they will drain you out. It ain't like I need something that will last 50 years at our age.

So we went to Krogers when I got home and I am still numb. What helped me is there was no problems with the bottom of the tooth and root.

Try to get that trip out of the way first. Prayers you get to see them when you do get there. Angel

Kev, those tooth problems must be contagious.  Yesterday I went to dentist to check out a tooth that was hurting a little.  Xray showed the whole thing practically is rotted out underneath a crown.  They wanted to pull it right away and then work on redoing my upper partial since that was the anchor tooth.  They wanted to put me to sleep to pull the tooth.  I don't know why.  Never had to before.  The want to send me to an "oral surgeon" in case there are complications I guess.  My local guy said it might break off if he did it.  On top of all this I have a mercy trip coming up on April 8th to see two of my siblings who are dying with stage 4 cancer.  I'm thinking I will try and wait until I get back to do all this dental work if I can.  They gave me some antibiotics in the meantime in case it gets infected.  I'm really between a rock and a hard place.  I just spent about 2400 bucks to safe another tooth on the bottom.  This is getting old fast.
