Low 50s and cloudy today. Is not going to get better for the next week.
Picked up a new LED light for my desk today from HD and had lunch at Steak & Shake and that is about it.

So this is what I have completed, I need to see what other firehouses I can put up there, I still have room.

Morning. 53 and warming fast. Suppose to be sunny [still cloudy]. Going into the 70's. That is normal for us this time of the year.
Not much on the agenda for today. Tomorrow is busy.
Later.

Mornin' boys. Foggy drizzle and 40 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Back to the grist mill today. Taxes tonight.
Been carving foam mountains in the train room. There are some good instructional videos on youtube. Trying to work from photos of the Trough area of the South Branch, but I find myself free-lancing for the most part. Also finished a scratchbuilt timber trestle. Not an engineering marvel; more like "beanpoles and cornstalks", which is what I was working towards.
DJSpanky -
Hello there, missed a couple of days. Tired but wide awake.
Spanky...,.belated Happy Birthday.
SJ...I can relate to that.
RT.......glad Donna is home and doing well.
Rich.....the firehouse display sounds neat .
Roy.......writing code sounds interesting. Everything I messed with was ladder logic.
Not into a lot here. Watched the older grandkids Saturday night. Sunday was a lazy day. Woke to a cold house Monday, seems I underestimated the remaining coal over the auger. Went and got a ton of coal for the other house. The yard is soggy so I can't back the trailer to the window. Had to shovel into the wheelbarrow then shovel in the window.
Spent today dealing with Mom stuff and retirement. Then made blood donation number 80.
Best try to sleep.
Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,
Rain today. Clear enough to walk, but still miserable. Worked on some articles for CTT tonight. Hopefully they will be in issues in the near future. Work was busy this morning, but quieter this afternoon. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Evening all!
Rained all day. At times you could not see your hand in front of your face. Rain continues through the night and into tomorrow.
DJ - ahh - Hawaiian shirts - I have a few but nothing close to your collection!
Closed the fence deal and they will come the last week of April. Ugh, have to warn the neighbors as they will be spraying.
Even with the rain and cold front we are 60's/70's for the next week!
Regards, Roy
49 and rain and that is it for the day. The next week after tomorrow will all be below normal temps. I have had enough already.
Happy Birthday Spanky I started counting over at 29, so now I am 36.
Rob - Mostly ceramic ala Lemax, some from Lowe's and Garden Ridge, most from Michaels. They all light up, and it gives a nice ambience in the room. I don't believe I've seen Station 19, I'll have to look for it. Backdraft, Towering Inferno, Station 49, those I have on DVD...lol. Some of the TV series are just so fake.....
I wanted to get the Menards Station and convert it like you did....I already have the MTH Firehouse, lol....THAT will go on the layout, brand new in the box, still. The Code 3 stuff was nice, but I think they priced themselves out of the market. I have some of those. Detail is great but I'm not spending $50-100 for Nice Looking Hot Wheels.....
I'd just be happy with some 1/48 scale firefighting apparatus. I do have a MTH Burning house....lol, that is lots of fun....and the MTH Fire Truck and flat with firetruck. Need a nice 135' Ladder Truck like the one in my department...
Roy - no flames...lol...a warm white LED strip behind the firehouses for some back lighting.
Right now, I have all the buildings separated by area, Spooky Town, Main Street, Christmas Village and the Industrial Area. And I have MORE than enough and then some. I have a mix of MTH, LeMax and Plasticville. It's getting closer for me to start building the tables and do the insulation on the roof. The carpet layout is a close proto-type for the cross overs and switches.
Gotta get back to the work.....slow day today....hate that....
Morning. 37 degrees and going into the 50's [which is below normal]. Cloudy but not suppoe to rain.
Have a good one.
Good evening,
Just have time for a quick post from my hotel room in NYC. The visit with the family in PA was nice and we arrived in NYC around 3 PM. Our hotel is in the theater district near Times Square. We visited the Empire State Building today and had a great dinner at Becco. We have much planned for tomorrow so I need to get some sleep.
Good night,
Joe
Was a rainy, cold, cruddy day today. Next few days look like they will be the same.
The robotics team ended up ranked 10 out of about 50 teams after qualifications. They were picked by the #3 seated alliance going into the semifinals. Unfortunately, they were taken out in the first round by the #6 seated alliance. Still, it was a pretty good effort.
At work, the natural work team I am on won our class in the world team competition last week. That makes two world wins and a world second in the last 3 years.
On the home front, we picked up our new travel trailer last weekend. One more getting ready for retirement box checked. Also making progress on the bathroom remodel.
About all for now.
Semi busy, semi quiet day at work. Weather for walk not as good as expected. Watched Izombie. Have spent most of the season wondering where it was going and now it looks it has a sense of direction. Very interesting. Rain the rest of the week. I hope everyone has a good day.
Evening gang!
A warm one, cloudy, and storms brewing to the NW. Storms to hit here tomorrow afternoon/evening/night.
Anj - prettty cool about the firehouses! Back lighting will be awesome - flames?
Kev - starting a reality dumpsters/dives/compost pile restaurant show?
Dougnotta - prayers
Recorded the last 30 min of the NASCAR race - need to find time to watch it?
Made it to the paint store for the last shot of color mix for the fence - got a test section painted before it got dark - looked pretty good since it was a slight adjustment to the formula from yesterday. Got dark before it completely dried so I should be able to check it in the morning and pull the trigger with the fence company. 4 test gallons...argh...
Afternoon All!
Hit high 40's today. Most of the snow is gone. The yard is going to need some TLC.
Sir James - Thanks! I'll keep the date open.
Joe - Thanks for the clarification on the digital magazine. Makes sense if they've only been doing the digital for a short time. I'm running out of room for the paper ones too. That's why I was thinking about digital for my renewal. I agree about NYC. Tons to do. The Mrs. and I are planning a trip too within the year.
Rich - I like the fire station layout! Love to see some pics. What are you using for models? I bought the Menard's one and I'm going to convert to LACoFD 51, of course! I'm just trying to figure out what to use for Squad 51 and Engine 51. Slim pickins' for 1/43, 1/50 die cast. Mostly all antique engines or European/Asian. Too bad Code 3 wasn't still around even though they mostly did 1/64. Did you happen to check out Station 19? The Mrs. recorded it and I was "armchair" firefighter critiquing it!!
Kev - It happens to all us. I want to know if you did your best Chef Ramsay impression afterwards!! I know I more than likely would have.
Have a good one and prayers.
Rob

That's right Chief, The critters call me Chef BoyarKev!!
Good morning, Cloudy and cool with mid 50s later then rain for the next two days.
As for the bad soup I made yesterday: Went to the compost pile this morning to throw out a banana peal and I guess the critters approved of the chicken noddle soup as it was. It was all gone along with the BBQ rib bones.
Morning. 49 degrees and warming. Errands and one meeting today.
Rich, good job on fire department related display.
Happy Monday!
MikeC - Glad you are A-OK - sucks on the Mini-Van....
Got a lot accomplished this weekend, made the Princess happy, got a fireplace/heater on the cheap and installed and finished it off in her modulare shleving system that she partially built for work. Great Daddy Daughter project and she is pleased.
Finished getting the shelving up in my bedroom, I have 12 lighted firehouses around half the room, will be putting up some of my firetrucks as well as soon as I can find them. I'll be installing some back lighting behind the firehouses as accent lighting and then it'll be done. Very happy with the outcome. It'll be a night time sancuary after the train attic. I have a surround sound system for the bedroom so I can sleep with some nice sleep music, as suggested by my Princess. I do sleep better with that in the background.
Did spend some quaility time with the roadrunner, the exhaust leaks are sealed up with locking nuts and did a lap around town to make sure everything is good.
Not much else, will start working on the train attic in the coming months, excited to get that completed and comfortable enough to run trains!!
Prayers to all in need, will check back soon.
Weather was nice today. Snow melting. Did a practice walk today. Getting worse instead of better????? Did a 3:41.?? for a 3.5 HPH average. First 11 miles were not bad, but did the last mile at 3 MPH. At least I finished, which is better than the US Haas team did in F-1 with faulty pit stops. Millions of dollars in budget for all sorts of equipment and their air guns could not attach the wheels properly????? Ugh ugh ugh. I hope everyone has a good day.
Evening all,
Cloudy all day and 70's. Rain tonight - maybe...and tomorrow - maybe....
Spent more time with fine tuning the fence stain color. close. one more run to paint store will get 'er done...then turn it over to the fence company.
So I was making homemade chicken noodle soup in the crockpot today. I have no idea what went wrong with my soup but I am going to abort it. For some reason the cream of chicken condensed soup has not dissolved into the broth and it looks like corn meal floating in the soup? Something is bad? Guess it will go on the compost pile. Never had this problem before??? So plan B=BBQ ribs tonight.
No train news here.
Good Morning Ladies !
We missed out on almost all the rain that they said was going to a "rainmageddon" event. It stayed mostly farther North in the areas of the big burns.
It's time for my shameless plug to buy a Jersey Mike's Sub on the 28th of this month. All proceeds for that day go to local charities/institutions, in San Diego County the day's proceeds from all 38 locations go to Rady's Children's Hospital. www.jerseymikes.com/mog
Last couple days/nights have been not so good, will have to see how the rest of the day goes. Supposed to go to an afternoon get together, right now it is rather questionable.
Got a repaired diesel back from the shop, initially both of the PS2 5Volt boards were fried but they were able to have a few components replaced to save the boards instead of having to spend a lot for new ones altogether. Will have to see how this works out but others have said that the long term results are good.
Time to go rest a bit and see if I'll be able to get it together for today.
Later All !

Rob June 9. Romeo Mi area. We will have our annual outdoor club meet with the modular layout. You can bring a train to run.
Sunny but only 37 for today.
I spent yesterday afternoon at Charlies house running some trains and just enjoying the company of a few friends. There is a video on that other forum if your interested. Nothing on my menu for today.

Wet and chilly morning. Changing to fair in a hour or so per guessers. Got Eagles clan coming for a late lunch.
Have a great week ahead.
Good morning,
The past two days were a bit busy and I ran out of time to post. The kids are on spring break this week and I decided to use some leave from work. Today, we will drive to PA and spend the day/night with my family. Tomorrow morning, we will drive to NYC and spend a few days exploring the city. I know many people avoid NYC, but my wife and I love it. There are many things to do and see there with the family. Unfortunately, I did not realize how expensive Broadway tickets have become and that might not happen this trip.
Mike C. - I am glad you are okay.
Rob - I think they only go back so far as they have not had them digitized with Zinio for that long. I prefer the digital version as now I do not have paper magainzes piling up in my house. The Michigan game was good; FSU made it close at times.
I hope you all enjoy your Sunday.
Morning All!
GO BLUE!! Michigan on to the Final Four!
Not much on the go today. My final hockey game of the season is this morning. I hope the weather is decent this afternoon, calling for mid-30's and sunny. I'd like to get out for a bike ride and start burning off the winter mid-section!!
MikeC - Glad you are okay. Distracted driving is the number cause of accidents now.
Helped wife with housework today. Did some online searching for vehicles. Not much luck. Lots of snow today. Stayed home. Did get CTT. Good issue. Thanks for the concerns, guys. Just one of those deals. I hope everyone has a good day.
84??? Wow to hot for me on a summer day Roy!
Well our snow storm turned into, No storm. Had a small blast at 2:00PM and only about ten minutes. So nothing here at all, and I am good with that. DougM got away to.
