Morning, 33 heading to 41 with clouds all day.

Wife’s 91-year-old mom fell Friday night and hurt her leg and rear so wife was there most yesterday afternoon. So, I raked gravel out of the grass and back into the driveway and took the kid’s motorcycle for a spin around the neighborhood. It would not run without the choke pulled and they make them these days where you can’t adjust the pilot screw. So I took a 1/16” drill and put a small hole into the pilot screw, tapped a little screwdriver into the hole and worked the adjuster out. Then I cut a grove across the head of the adjuster with the Dremel and now it can be adjusted. A little adjustment on the screw and BINGO,,, runs like a champ.

 As for the POA scam:

The more I hear the more bazar things are. Layers of mistakes, as more information trickles in I find that this person who got the POA was not a stranger but she was the realtor that found their last house. So, she understood the situation well and they thought she was a friend. Why they did not set up my cousin’s wife’s sister who lives there is beyond me. Also seems there was a rift between the 45-year-old paraplegic son and the father over the son’s boyfriend.  Huh?  So, he refused the right to POA. Enough said. I will watch from here.

Best get going. have a great day!

Good Morning,

Can't believe what people will do, hopefully someone in the family will be able to do something before its too late.

Kays birthday was this past Thursday as well.  Her best friend since the 8th grade came in from Reno to surprise her.  They have had a fun weekend, she goes back home today.

I survived the Bunco party, whew!  Worked in the train room servicing engines.  As most of my stuff is 10 yrs old or more, the tires are all worn pretty thin.  So put "Bull Frog Snot" on 6 engines.  Got so I was doing pretty good with it.  (Once its on it holds for a long time.)

Hope you guys in New England, get a break from the third storm heading your way.  We are actually suppose to have rain everyday this week.  And no one is talking about mudslides yet.

Has anyone had their DNA Ancestry checked?  I just got mine back, I'm skeptical about their validity.  Definetly have some questions.

Got to get going, off to install a signal bridge and a couple other accessories on a layout in Santa Monica.

Take care and have a great day.

Morning All!

Did everyone remember to set their clocks ahead? Smile Usual Sunday grind - hockey, repent my sins and groceries. Going to squeeze in some birthday visits to my father and my sister in law.

Kev - That's brutal. Hopefully some justice can be done. My folks made me executor and POA. We'll see how that plays out........ (hopefully not for a while!)

Have a good one and prayers.

Good evening all,

Kevin, there is a special place in a very hot place for people like what you described.  I hope it all gets worked out.  Onto some good news.   P3 for the Foyt team today!!!!!   Matheus Leist starts 3rd for the ABC Supply team and Tony Kanaan starts 10th.   Woo-hoo!!!!!    Also had to do an outdoor practice today and it did not go well.  8.5 miles in 3 hours.  Not good.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Worse part in my cousin's case Chief is this person who did it has nothing to do with or knows any family. Just scammers who follow sick people around. Angry

I find out that the women who did this is out of town on a vacation. No doubt spending money that is not hers.

In our case, wife dies I get everything, I die she gets everything. We both die, daughter takes over per will. Son gets what he has given, very little. Maybe like SJ said. We need to bump it up a step?

This is the worse software ever!!!

Crazy software.  I hit post.  Jumped to the page before the last one.  Now can't see last page.

Busy day.  57 degrees and cloudy.  Just went up a degree this late with no sun???????  Been chilly all day.

I had full power of atty. over Mom.  Worked great.  I was only child though.  When she got really bad off, I could decide all.  Wifey's folks had no power of atty. or will.  A real mess.  Three girls.  One is dumb and tries to get more than her share.  Gets caught.  Will all come out in the wash but will have hurt feels and madness.  Why I'm glad I was an only child.  Seen it over and over.  Always one bad apple in the barrel.  Really sad.

Later.

It was expensive but this is the reason everything we own, including finance's has been put into a trust. The kids have to abide by the will, if contested by any of them, they get nothing. Giving someone power of attorney without a legal agreement is a very bad idea. Everyone that has things of value needs to see an Estate Attorney ASAP.

27 heading to 42 with full sun.

Party went good but Brain's mom let the surprise out of the bag. We still had a good time so no biggie.

So get this!!

Sad and wrong, crime of opportunity?

So, my cousin Terry has hours maybe days left to live. They thought he would pass yesterday.

He has been sick for over a year and because of that in his mind always thought his wife would out live him. They have a son (Andy) in his 40s who was born with birth defects caused by his mother’s childhood diabetics.

As short as I can.  His wife went into a diabetic coma a few months back, fell hit her head and died. At the same time my cousin had just had a stroke.

Fast forward: The scam.

My cousin for whatever reason, most likely thinking of the best for his paraplegic son and unwittingly trusting someone who saw an opportunity singed what was a power of attorney giving this person control. No doubt with the promise of care for Andy.

So yesterday I get a call from my other cousin who passed last summer daughter. She went to Florida to see Terry and help his son through his passing.  She found out that this person has told Andy as soon as his dad passes to pack up his personal things and get out of the house that his parents owned because she owns EVERYTHING!!

I told her to contact the local police and make a report and ask them for guidance.

I would think this sort of thing is common in Florida with so many old folks down there.

That is about as much as I know at this time.

Tongue Tied

Morning All!

Not much on the go yet. Looks to be hovering around 30 for the weekend and no more snow.

Spank - Hardcore!! Love it! It's all that tailgating that's conditioned you. Big Smile I'm an all-weather griller too.

DJ/Old School - When MR archives has their free weekend promo, I like to browse through the old issues. Back when if you wanted it, you had to build it. Not much RTR back then! Our husky is enjoying the weather too.

Banks - Another big fish fry. Wow!

Have a good one and prayers.

DJSpanky - YES! That's the style, boy! ParadiseDrinksYesYesCool

Banks - Not sure I'll be there to wait in line to get in, but am hoping to attend, and will keep my peepers open for you.

Good evening all,

Mostly quiet day at work.  Good weather for walk.  Foyt P1 after first practice today.  Not so fast on reds in second but both cars still in top half of field.  Will see how qualifying shakes out on Saturday.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Hello there,

spent most of the day at the school doing fish fry prep.

It was another 800+ night. Gave up standing in front of fryer  and did the running. Back feels much better. Still came home to a shower, a Hot tub soak and some wine. Now ready to crash.

Got to be in the Altoona Jr. High by 830 AM for the Twirling competition. Need  to be at Memorial service for Aunt by 4PM.

Altoona train show Sunday. Hoping to hookup with Fife there.

Eyes are getting heavy.

Prayers for those in need

Evening all!

Fairly nice day today and will be nice tomorrow. Front on Sunday.

Banks - prayers - good luck to your grandaughter!

Dennis - and the guy probably didn't stop due to a bunch of outstanding parking tickets! That seems to happen a lot here. Gotta wonder when a person runs from the police for minor stuff - what's hiding in the closet?

Scratch - hope the power comes back soon. Can't see your pics today.

DJ - Thumbs Up

Kev - Happy B-Day to the Mrs

Another snowfall and the backyard looks like a winterland. Wood stove is on, served up hot roast beef sandwiches - my wife is a little jet lagged but hungry, and having a freshly brewed coffee while reading my newly-aquired 1955 issues of Model Railroader. Love retirement!

Aloha. Sunny and cold. But no snow. I love those old MRs ...and CTTs too. I used to get them each year from our local library before they would clean out their years-worth. It was fun looking at the old ads. Hope everyone out east has power and heat. Happy bday to your wife, Kev. That sounds like a good party.

Good morning,

Just plane cold at 20 when I got up but lots of sun helps.

Wife's birthday today and I have had gut cramps since 2:20AM.

Have a surprise party set up for her at the Moose tonight. Neighbors Brain and his mom and daughter Katie and the kids. Will be the surprise. She thinks just her and I are going.

Hope my gut settles down by then.

Must be that Chinese food from yesterday I guess.

Banks, Prayers for your family!

Nature is calling,,again.  Ick!

Morning.  Slept late.  Was tired.  Was cold last night but warming fast.

Nothing on agenda and now phone calls are making things busy for Town stuff.  Think we have a new town manager.  Met with him yesterday afternoon.  Dinner with his wife and himslef.

Have a good one.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny on top, snowglobe on bottom; kinda cool.  My sister and folks brought my nephew over yesterday.  Nice visit, and finally gave him his Christmas present; a WMSR flat car with 2 Ford F100's.  He liked the train room, but was more interested in FifeMax this time around.  Gave his mother my set of Railking NW2's to take home with him as well.  The BIL handed me his Lionel Seaboard switcher to see if I can bring it back to life.

Chief, I love those fish stories of how it was.  My dad talked about the shad runs a lot.  He was crazy about Shad roe.  I remember having it back in the 40's.  My dad also was fond of salt herring.  Probably had to soak them a long time to get the salt out.  I think they used to serve salt herring in the jail from what I have heard.  My brother caught a lot of rock fish.  I'm still coughing but going longer now between coughs.  Supposed to rain this weekend.  We need it.

@Banks and Roy: love those old magazines as well. I get most of my inspiration from them. The one I am using as my avatar is special - I was born that month, August 1954. Might have to try my hand at building that O gauge caboose on the cover one day.

Scratch. ...love those old magazines. Have quite a few from the 50s and 60s

RT. ....ramp is lookn good.

Another session of PT today. They say both hips are not injured but out of whack compensating for bad ankle making lower back ache. Standing is worst thing.

Got some help lined up to fry fish tomorrow. Last Friday left me pretty well wrecked.

My aunt(Dad's SIL) passed Monday at 92. Mom is the last one left. Viewing today and a Memorial Service Saturday.

Also grandaughter is in a twirling competition Saturday.

Only a dusting of snow the last 2 mornings. Just enough to make driving sceery. Gone by mid morning.

Bed is calling.

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work, which was good after long trip in this morning.  Should have stayed home as roads were very slick.  Did not get up over 45 on the way in.  Trip home normal.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Evening all!

Had a late day yesterday and was too tired to post. Mild weather here and some trees are starting to bud out. 60's today and maybe 70 tomorrow.

DJ - wowzers!

Scratch - love the dog. Our daughters terrier that we watch occasionally lives to play fetch the tennis ball. Everytime we get up she heads to the back door thinking we are going into the back yard yet again. Love the old MRs. I have the disc of all their old issues.

Regards, Roy
