Morning all!

Another sunny day - 93 predicted.

Chief - Angel for your FIL's peaceful passing.

RT - that would be good if the washer is not leaking!

MikeC - Yes. Nice end to Indy-Car this year.

My nutty SIL [who is RN] called at 5 AM and said FIL about to die.  This could have waited [that may sound bad but you have to know her].  Now everyone will feel bad all day as no sleep.  He will probably pass today and that will be a relief.  He has been in bad shape for days.  Only the Lord knows.

Got to get moving and do my scheduled things until Wifey calls.

Have a good one.

Morning all. No plans for today at present. Started wash for the other half. With all that has been going on we got behind on it. We had a leak around the washer the other day so I cut water to it. But today don't see anything so wondering if it may have came from the dish drain which is right beside the washer ( we have washer and dryer in the kitchen ( I hate that, I like them in there own space )

Hope all have a good day. Talk to you all later.

Good evening all,

Good weather today.  Mowed and edged the yard.  Did a little trimming as well.  Listened to Indy car finale.  Newgarden is series champ, first American in quite a while.  Daly got another top 10 for AJ and Munoz was 15th.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Sun and mid 80s today, leaves are turning fast and falling already.

Friends wake today. Tongue Tied

Then grand-son for the rest of the day. Will make him help with the clean up of the mini motorcycle parts and we have to replace a tire on his elect Jeep.

Jim Phish, yes this is his first powered bike. He got on his neighbors bicycle about 5 months ago and just started riding on his own. No training wheels or training as far as that goes. He turned 4 about two months ago, he is still kind of young. He now has a 12" bike of his own and this mini motorcycle is also a 12". So this should be fun.

Enjoy you day.

I don't think I have checked in for awhile. I do read this each day. We have had sun and low 80s for several days now, nice for spending evenings on the porch. All our Fla. friends are OK, most left till they knew the power was back on.

Evening all!

A hot one but a nice day today. 90's.

Spent the day cleaning up my workspace room. Then went this afternoon with neighbors to a local Octoberfest event. It was good fun. My son and several of his friends showed up also, so that was a treat.

Phish were only talking maybe 20 feet at the most from the house to the garage. It would take 3 times as long getting it here as to using it. It would be like a 5 minute job to use it. Roots are the main problem. but they only seem to be about 6" or less in the depth of the ground so once I get rid of them I should be able to dig it in no time. Most don't realize taking big shovel size digs acttually is harder on you and can take longer than taking a bunch of little size digs ( ie a 2" shovel full verses 5 -7" shovel full. )

Thats a job for tomorrow or monday anyway. as the guy won't be here until Monday or Tuesday now. Thats okay as I don't need power to the garage actually. It's more of a bonus than a need. I don't even know if the lights still work in there.

Good evening all,

A good weather day.   Wife was too tired from all the work this week so I went to the grandkids' games myself.  Granddaughter's team played much better this week and led a good portion of the game, but lost 3-2.  She did not seem to be too involved in the game, but then she is only 7.  Grandson played a fabulous game, almost perfect.  He played defense and hit every ball that came to him back to a teammate.  I do not think he could have played better.  Unfortunately, his opponents played a much better game and won 4-1.  I rested when I came home and we went to Mass.  We went out to dinner and even the senior portion was enough for two meals.   "My" soccer girls won their second game of the season 2-0, but "my" soccer boys lost again.   AJ's team had a mixed day as Daly was 13th or 14th quick, but Munoz is tail end charlie on the last row.  Hopefully a top 10 is in the cards tomorrow.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening from 81°F Southern Ohio,

I spent a good part of the day burning out a stump and more brush.  Then preached at Mass them went to a festival at one of the downtown parishes.  We came home and found another snake.  So far we have found 4 different species, garter, rough green, rat snake and today a brown snake.  We all checked it out then it went on it's merry way.  Being in the woods I expected to see lots of snakes and I want the kids to be able to identify the species.  Too many people see a snake and want to kill them.

Roy – With the electronics on the cars today I read of issues with varibles in voltage or grounds  causing weird problems.

Chief – I'll pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet for your Father in law

RT – Go easy with the trench.  Would it be worth renting a ditch witch for?

Fife – great visits!

Dennis – I pray for your job situation

Kev – 1st motorcycle?

Good night and may God bless

Jim

Good afternoon,

I picked this up at a garage sale today for $15.00

Don't know if it runs but looks like I can get a battery if it needs one. It is a Razor MX350 Dirt Rocket like the one listed here. Needs some TLC but I think the 4 year old Grand-son will like it.  Big Smile

Fife, surprise visit are the best kind. I use to do that to my parents often. But I was in the Navy then and once they thought I wasaboard ship coming home from spain but I got allowed to leave in spain and meet the ship when it got back in Norfolk. Had a buddy pick me up. I stood around the corner from the front door and he rang the bell. My mother answers and he goes I have a surprise for you, And I walked around the corner. I had been gone about 7 months at that time.

Morning all. No real plans for today as legs are hurting. Don't know from what.

Hope all have a good day. Talk to you all later.

Mornin' boys.  2 surprise visits in 1 week.  Wifey and I were watching tv last night, when the oldest Princess, SIL, and grandson pull up in the driveway.  Wifey is happy.  FifeMax is happy.

Hello there,

Chief. ....Prayers for your FIL.

The boss passed last night. Bout 9 months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

I found out Wednesday that the company is going to be closed and the assets sold to a company we've done some joint venture with. They are planning to hire our men. This company is from State College . The plan is to open a satellite office in Altoona using the new assets.

I'm not sure if they are planning to use me or not . If not I'll  take unemployment til it runs out and retire. If there is a place for me I'll give them a year.

I'm  planning to be retired before Christmas of 2018.

Think I'm going to bed soon

Prayers for those in need

Chief Prayers For Father in Law.

Afternoon all. Slowly but surely I'm digging a trench about 8" wide and 2' deep to run the new wire from the home to the garage. Only problem is I'm running into roots about every 6" - 8". I hope after I get down a bit I will be okay. But need to get by the roots first. Biggest one so far has been about 2" across.

Still need to put in the bottom element to the oven ( it came in Wednesday. ) Last night we saw a small leak coming from the washer. Might be easier just to replace it as it is on the older side. ( about nine years) I know some last a lot longer but this wasn't your very good model more like the bottom of the line one.

Morning all!

Cloudy this am, to hit mid-90's today. Very humid...

Jeep issue turned out to be the battery. Although it would read full voltage it could not pull in the starter solenoid. Have never seen anything like that before. Finally caught it yesterday. Was able to focus on the battery as we knew the solenoid, starter motor, wiring, & and fuse panel start relay were good. New battery and keeping fingers crossed. Son drove it around last night and took it to work this morning.

Fife - nice visit with Chris!

Regards, Roy

Good evening all,

Very busy day at work.  Good weather for walk tonight and for watching that "All-American" sport.   "My" soccer girls lost 5-0 on Senior Night and the "my" soccer boys lost 6-0 on the road after losing 4-2 Wednesday night.  Not a very good season at all.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Afternoon from drizzly 67°F Southern Ohio,

It has been very wet here, but the contractor is making progress on the new garage.  The block walls are partially up and they are prepping the exterior as you would for a basement with sealing the walls with tar, two rows of drain tile and gravel since two walls will be set back into the hillside.

One of the reasons I’ve been extra busy is we have an additional teenager living with us.  We accepted a 15 year old teenage boy from Madrid Spain as an exchange student.  He is a great kids, speaks very good English and gets along great with the other three kids.

Still working away on the Honey Do list little at a time and hopefully we’ll get the pole insert for the basketball goal ready for concrete so when the contractor is pouring the garage floor they can fill the hole dug for the insert.

Fife – Sounds like a great time with the Fifepup.  Time well spent.

RT – Sounds like the wire was undersized.  Is it in conduit?

Roy – working under the jeep really works the abs and shoulders!

Brent – Loved the story with your wife and the tree cutting.  My bride starts checking on me if I’ve been too quiet for too long in the garage.

Dennis & Kev – the inside patch the shop did on my van tire is holding.

Time to hit the shower and get home

May God bless

Jim

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 72 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Haven't checked in since Monday, due to a big surprise visit from Fifepup.  Chris arrived at my folks' place Sunday night, and everyone was in on it but me.  We went fishing at the pond, and it was simply surreal.  Spent the past 4 days just hanging out, watching sports.  Just being near.  I did need to stop by the railyard yesterday, and we wound up working for 4 hours together.

He's headed to Baltimore now to visit his family, then will headed back to SC on Saturday.  Me, I'm fine.

The plans for now is one replace wire from house to the garage that got fried somewhere between house and garage. It was wrong type of witing anyway. it was indoor 14 gauge not outside type. Putting in a grounding pole, there is one there already but code now calls for two. 6 feet apart from each other. The cable side has been taken care of all but the wire from the pole to the house. When that gets done, supposedly today, wifey will have her TV back. We are happy we have our phones back and I'm happy I have internet again so I can take care of some things.

Now to go spend some money today. Need to goto Wal-Mart.

Morning,

Fog and thick here.

Thought Katie and Dan were getting their roof today but it is next week. I was going to go over and cut some bushes down on the north side of the house but that is off.

WOW, RT it looks like that surge was looking to get to ground the way it arced across the gas meter. How is you house elect box ground? In good shape? It should of covered that! Weird. Glad it was not worse.

Morning.  Everyone must be asleep.  Had a light shower this AM.  Not suppose to have much of a rain event.

Nothing on the agenda for the Town today [I hope].

Glad RT is back "in shape" and not the whole house.

Have a good one.
